한국인혈압(韓國人血壓)의 정상치역(正常値域) (Normal Range of Blood Pressure of Korean)

  • In order to figure out the normal range, lower limit of hypertension and upper limit of hypotension of the blood pressure of Korean, authors had measured blood pressure according to Korotkow's method for 31,897 healthy persons as samples who were occupied different levels of the social class except cases who would seem to be the essential hypertension and had the diseases affecting to secondary hypertension. A following conclusion was induced by actual measurement and statistical reasoning. 1. The normal range and limits of hypo- and hypertension by sex and age groups of Korean were demonstrated in Table 1 and Figure 1. 2. The more aging the higher value of blood pressure in both sexes, especially women rather than men and systolic as to diastolic. 3. Generally, blood pressure values of female were lower than male, after 55 years of age, however, the crossing phenomenon was recognizable. 4. To settle the normal and abnormal ranges of the blood pressure of Korean, it was attempted that $M{\pm}1.282{\sigma}$ as normal range, $M+2{\sigma}$ as lower limit of hypertension and $M-2{\sigma}$ as upper limit of hypotension were calculated, and regression lines were drawn to adjust the biological variables and derive continuity from each age class. The blood pressure levels were becoming elevated as to getting increased of the body weight, particularly diastolic value at 40-49 age group in male and systolic value at 30-39 age group in female.

Identification of the Minimum Legible Text Size for Group-View Display of the Main Control Room in Radioactive Waste Facility

  • Objective: The present study identified the minimum legible text size by an experiment for eight combinations of background and text colors, which will be used in designing visual information on group-view display (GVD). Background: Information on minimum legible text size is needed to design the visual information presented on GVD in a radioactive waste control room. Method: The experiment was conducted for 22 male participants (age: mean = 37, SD = 6.7; visual acuity: over 0.8) who were recruited by considering demographic characteristics of current control room operators. Eight combinations of background and text colors were considered and the minimum legible text size was determined for each combination by applying the method of limits, one of psychophysical methods. Results: The minimum legible text size was significantly different in accordance with the combination of background and text colors. Statistical analysis results showed that luminance contrast and color contrast between background and text influenced the minimum legible text sizes. Conclusion: This study concluded that the minimum legible text size is 8 minute of arc for various combinations of background and text colors. Application: The minimum legible text size identified in the present study can be utilized in designing visual information on GVD at the main control room in a radioactive waste facility.

로지스틱모형에서의 주성분회귀 (Principal Components Regression in Logistic Model)

  • 로지스틱회귀분석은 고객관계관리나 신용위험관리 등의 분야에서 많이 사용되는 기법인데, 이러한 분야에서의 로지스틱회귀모형에는 연관성이 높은 설명변수들이 다수 포함되어 다중공선성의 문제를 유발하는 경우가 있다. 다중공선성이 존재하는 상황에서 최우추정량은 심각한 결함을 갖는다는 사실은 잘 알려졌다. 이 문제를 해결하기 위하여 로지스틱주성분회귀를 연구하되, 분석상의 주요 과정인 주성분 선정을 위한 방법을 새롭게 제안하였다. 추정량의 분산을 최소가 되게 하는 상태지수 값을 측정하고, 이 값에 영향을 미치는 주요 요인들을 컨조인트분석에 의해 파악하여 주성분 선정기준을 결정하는 모형을 구축하였다. 제안된 방법은 다중공선성 문제를 적절히 해결하면서도 모형의 적합성을 향상시킨다는 사실이 모의실험을 통하여 확인되었다.

  • 데이터마이닝 분야에서의 회귀모형에는 연관성이 높은 설명변수들이 포함되어 다중공선성을 유발하는 경우가 많은데, 다중공선성이 야기하는 문제를 해결하기 위하여 주성분회귀분석을 적용할 수 있다. 이 분석에서는 적절한 주성분을 선정하는 과정이 핵심인데, 기존의 선정방법들은 다중공선성을 잘 해결하지 못하거나 모형의 적합성을 저하시킨다는 지적을 받고 있다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 다중공선성 문제와 적합성 저하 현상을 동시에 해결할 수 있는 새로운 선정방법을 제안하였다. 다중공선성에 의해 최소제곱추정량의 분산이 팽창되는 문제를 주성분회귀에 의해 해결할 수 있지만, 주성분의 일부를 선정함에 따라 발생하는 편의도 동시에 통제해야 한다. 따라서 주성분회귀추정량의 평균제곱오차를 최소가 되게 하는 상태지수를 측정하고, 이 값에 영향을 미치는 주요 요인들을 컨조인트분석에 의해 파악하여 주성분 선정기준 모형을 구축하였다. 선정기준의 상한과 하한을 설정하고, 상태지수가 상한을 초과하면 해당 주성분을 제외시키고, 하한에 미달하면 해당 주성분을 포함시킨다. 그리고 상한과 하한 사이의 상태지수에 대응하는 주성분들에 대해서는 일반화선형검정을 순차적으로 적용하여 주성분을 선정하는 방법이다.

임플랜트 고정체의 형태가 임플랜트 초기안정성에 미치는 영향 (INFLUENCE OF IMPLANT FIXTURE DESIGN ON IMPLANT PRIMARY STABILITY)

  • Statement of problem: Current tendencies of the implant macrodesign are tapered shapes for improved primary stability, but there are lack of studies regarding the relationship between the implant macrodesign and primary stability. Purpose: The purpose is to investigate the effect of implant macrodesign on the implant primary stability by way of resonance frequency analysis in the bovine rib bones with different kinds of quality. Material and method: Fifty implants of 6 different kinds from two Korean implant systems were used for the test. Bovine rib bones were cut into one hundred pieces with the length of 5 cm. Among them forty pieces of rib bones with similar qualities were again selected. For the experimental group 1, the thickness of cortical part was measured and 20 pieces of rib bones with the mean thickness of 1.0mm were selected for implant placement. For the experimental group 2, the cortical parts of the remaining 20 pieces of rib bones were totally removed and then implants were placed on the pure cancellous bone according to the surgical manual. After placement of all implants, the implant stability quotient(ISQ) was measured by three times, and its statistical analysis was done. Results: There are statistically significant differences in ISQ values among 4 different kinds of Avana system implants in the experimental group 2. For the experimental group 1, Avana system implants showed significantly different ISQ values, but when differences in the thickness of cortical parts were statistically considered, did not show any significant differences in ISQ values. Among Oneplant system implants, there are no significant differences in ISQ values for the experimental group 2 as well as for the experimental group 1. Conclusion: Within the limits of this study, bone quality and implant design have some influences on the primary stability of implants. Especially in the bone of poor quality, tapered shape of implants are more favorable for the primary stability of implants.

  • 현재 고밀도 반도체제작 환경에서는 반작용적인 이온 식각 과정(reactive ion etching)에서의 생산성을 극대화하기 위해서 비정상적인 공정장비를 발견하는 것이 매우 중요하다. 생산과정에서 오류발견의 중요성을 설명하기 위해 Support Vector Machine (SVM)은 실시간으로 공정오류에 대한 판단을 위해 사용되었다. 반작용적인 이온 식각도구 데이터는 59개 변수들로 구성된 반도체 공정장비로부터 얻는다. 각각의 변수들은 초당 10개의 데이터로 구성되어있다. 식각 런의 11개의 파라미터에 대한 모델을 만들기 위해 baseline런으로부터 얻은 데이터로 SVM모델을 구성하고 정상 런데이터와 비정상 런데이터로 SVM모델을 검증한다. 통계적 공정제어에서 흔히 이용되는 관리한계를 도입하여 정상데이터가 내재하고 있는 램덤변화율이 반영된 SVM 모델 기반의 관리 한계를 수립하고, 그 관리 한계를 바탕으로 오류발견을 실행한다. SVM을 이용함으로써 RIE의 오류발견은 run to run 기반에 정상 런데이터는 0% 오류율이 증명되었다.

다양한 사무실 실내환경에서의 휘발성유기화합물의 농도분포 특성 (Distributional Characteristics of Volatile Organic Compounds in the Indoor Air of Various Office Environments)

  • This study was carried out to evaluate the concentration variations of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) in the office environments located in a large urban area with respect to seasonality, smoking status, types of ventilation and heating. Indoor air sampling was undertaken in 37 and 30 offices in Daegu city during summer and winter, respectively. The VOC samples were collected using adsorbent tubes, and were determined by thermal desorption coupled with GC/MS analysis. The analytical method was validated for repeatability, method detection limits (MDL), and duplication precision. A total of 34 VOCs of environmental concern were determined, including 15 aromatics and 19 halogenated hydrocarbons. Average concentrations of BTEX appeared to 1.91 ppb, 22.98 ppb, 3.44 ppb, and 3.70 ppb, respectively. These values were relatively higher levels than those measured at homes and outdoor roadsides reported by other researches. In general, the concentrations of VOCs were higher in winter than summer, in smoking offices than non-smoking offices, in forced ventilation type than natural ventilation type, and in combustion heating than non-combustion heating offices. However, such differences were not always significant at a level of 0.05 by statistical tests (t-test and/or Mann-Whitney test) with some exceptions for BTEX and styrene. This study demonstrated that smoking status, ventilation type and presence of combustion sources indoors could be important factors on the elevated concentrations of some VOCs in the office environment.

Variations of SST around Korea inferred from NOAA AVHRR data

  • The NOAA AVHRR remote sense SST data, collected by the National Fisheries Research and Development Institute (NFRDI), are analyzed in order to understand the spatial and temporal distributions of SST in the seas adjacent to Korea. Our study is based on 10-day SST images during last 7 years (1991-1997). For a time series analysis of multiple 557 images, all of images must be aligned exactly at the same position by adjusting the scales and positions of each SST image. We devised an algorithm which yields automatic detections of cloud pixels from multiple SST images. The cloud detection algorithm is based on a physical constraint that SST anomalies in the ocean do not exceed certain limits (we used $\pm$ 3$^{\circ}C$ as a criterion of SST anomalies). The remote sense SST data are tuned by comparing remote sense data with observed SST at coastal stations. Seasonal variations of SST are studied by harmonic fit of SST normals at each pixel. The SST anomalies are studied by statistical method. We found that the SST anomalies are rather persistent with time scales between 1 and 2 months. Utilizing the persistency of SST anomalies, we devised an algorithm for a prediction of future SST Model fit of SST anomalies to the Markov process model yields that autoregression coefficients of SST anomalies during a time elapse of 10 days are between 0.5 and 0.7. We plan to improve our algorithms of automatic cloud pixel detection and prediction of future SST. Our algorithm is expected to be incorporated to the operational real time service of SST around Korea.

제주지역 경기선행종합지수에 관한 연구 (A study on composite precedence indices focusing on Jeju)

  • 경기종합지수가 개발되고 시간이 흐르다보면 경제현상 자체의 패턴 변화나 구성 지표의 경기대응력 변화 등으로 경기를 정확하게 판단하고 예측하는데 한계가 발생하기도 한다. 미래의 경기를 비교적 정확하게 예측하기 위해서는 먼저 선행성이 높은 개별지표를 선택해야 한다. 본 연구에서는 제주지역 경기선행지수 구성지표인 건축허가면적, 소비자물가지수, 서비스업생산지수, 광공업생산지수, 서귀포평균기온, 신용카드 구매액에 대한 경기전환점 및 시차상관분석을 통하여 구성지표 선행여부 타당성에 대한 실증분석을 하고자 한다. 또한 적정한 제주지역 선행종합지수의 기준 순환일을 설정하여 제안하고 전국 경기선행지수와의 비교분석을 통하여 제주지역 선행지수 구성 지표를 검증하고자 한다. 이를 통하여 제주지역 경기종합지수가 가지고 있는 문제점 및 향후 지역 종합경기지수의 개선 방향을 제안하고자 한다.

Bioequivalence Assessment of Roxithromycin Tablets in Healthy Korean Volunteers

  • The objective of the study was to evaluate the bioequivalency between the $Rozid^{TM}$ Tablet (Ilhwa Pharm. Co., Ltd.) as a test formulation and the $Rulid^{TM}$ Tablet (Handok Pharm. Co., Ltd) as a reference formulation. Twenty-four healthy male volunteers were administered the formulations by the randomized Latin square crossover design, and the plasma samples were determined by a high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) with fluorescence detector. $AUC_t,\;C_{max}\;and\;T_{max}$ were obtained from the time-plasma concentration curves, and log-transformed $AUC_t\;and\;C_{max}$ and log-untransformed $T_{max}$ values for two formulations were compared by statistical tests and analysis of variation. $AUC_t$ was determined to be $63.30{\pm}25.57{\mu}g.hr/ml$ for the test formulation and $64.02{\pm}29.27mg.hr/ml$ for the reference formulation. The mean values of $C_{max}$ for the test and reference formulations were $5.07{\pm}2.14\;and\;5.53{\pm}2.60{\mu}g/ml$, respectively. The $AUC_t,\;and\;C_{max}$ ratios of the test $Rozid^{TM}$ Tablet to the reference $Rulid^{TM}$ Tablet were -1.12% and -8.32%, respectively, showing that the mean differences were satisfied the acceptance criteria within 20%. The results from analysis of variance for log-transformed $AUC_t,\;and\;C_{max}$ indicated that sequence effects between groups were not exerted and 90% confidence limits of the mean differences for $AUC_t,\;and\;C_{max}$ were located in ranges from log 0.80 and log 1.25, satisfying the acceptance criteria of the KFDA bioequivalence. The RozidTM Tablet as the test formulation was considered to be bioequivalent to the RulidTM Tablet used as its reference formulation, based on $AUC_t,\;and\;C_{max}$ values.
