The purpose of this experimental study is to investigate and compare the vowel lengths of the English diphthongs, /eɪ/ and /aɪ/, and the front low vowel /æ/ among English-speaking natives with Korean college students using the Praat software program. To do this English sentences were uttered and recorded by twelve subjects, six Korean subjects and six English-speaking native subjects. All the subjects are female and their age ranges from 23 to 35. Acoustic features(duration) were measured from a sound spectrogram with the help of the Praat software program and analyzed through statistical analysis. Results showed that the vowel lengths of the English diphthongs and the front low vowel between native English speakers and Korean collegians were different. In the pronunciation of the diphthongs /eɪ/ and /aɪ/, Korean subjects pronounced longer than native subjects did, but the difference was not significant. However, in the pronunciation of the English front low vowel /æ/, native subjects pronounced significantly longer than Korean subjects did. From the data of the overall sum of words and vowels between the two subject groups, we were able to find out that the differences of lengths of both the three words and the two diphthongs /eɪ/ and /aɪ/ were not significant, but those of /æ/ were significant.
This study is for looking into Factors affecting the Intention of using about Fitness Tracker based on IoT by Flow Theory and UTAUT Model. The independent variables of the IoT-based fitness tracker have been selected as Challenge, Skill Factors used in the Flow experience theory and selected the personal characteristics of health perception, enjoyment, Social Influence, and Facilitating Conditions. In addition UTAUT theory was used as parameter of Performance Expectancy and Effort Expectancy and intention of Use behavior was selected as a dependent variable. For verifying research hypothesis, This study collected 126 surveys data and carried out a statistical analysis by Smart PLS. The result shows that new Flow Experience and Personal Characteristic Factors with key variables in the UTAUT Model affect significantly to Intention of using about Fitness Wearable environment based IoT.
The purpose of this study was to evaluate the preference trend of frequently served meals in the elementary school lunch program. Therefore, this evaluation was surveyed on frequently served meals in the elementary school lunch program in Inchon. Also, this study was surveyed on food preference using questionnaire including frequently served food items. Statistical analysis of data was completed using SAS program. The results of this survey was as follows: 1. Freqrenctly served foods were 56 food items including 5 boiled rice, 3 one course dishes, 10 soup & pot stewes, 10 fresh & boiled salads, 8 stirred fries, 7 stewes, 6 grill & fries, 3 kimchies and 4 desserts. 2. Students liked barley bab more than the other kinds of cooked rice. One course dishes were preferred most by the subjects. Among soup & pot stewes, fermented soybean paste stew showed lower preference than the other kind of stewes. Among fresh & boiled salads, fruits salad was the most favore, whereas, root of bellflower salad was the most hated. Among side-dishes by different preparation method, stir fries, stewes, grill & fries, kimchies, dessert were prefered most by the subjects. There were significant difference between male and female students for most given foods except soup & pot stewes. Female students showed higher preference for most given foods except fresh & boiled salads, kimchies, dessert than male students.
The purpose of this study is to emboss the importance of safety education by recognizing the instructor's thoughts on safety and the prevention of safety accidents of early-childhood through the examination, analysis of the education site of safety at early-childhood education facilities. The subject of this were 120 early-childhood teachers in the Jeonbuk areas. The data were collected using questionaries and analyzed by the statistical methods of frequencies. ANOVA with SPSS pc program. The research questions were as follows; 1. What is the understanding of early-childhood teachers on safety recognition? 2. Is there a difference in the understanding of the teacher on safety and the management of the education curriculum on safety education that is being taught at early-childhood education facilities? The main results and solutions of this study were as follows: 1. In order for early-childhood teachers to teach safety education in early-childhood education facilities, they must join a safety mutual aid association or join an insurance policy to furnish an appropriate compensation system. Also, safety education must be systematically taught at a $social{\cdot}national$ level so that teachers and young children can have an understanding on safety under the support and concern of early-childhood education facilities and administration authorities. 2. Results on the comparison of the understanding of safety education and management of actual education of teachers on the actual conditions of the education curriculum of safety education show that although teachers are aware of most items of safety education but the actual education was not being taught. This means that although the teachers are aware of the importance of safety education, the actual education is not being taught.
The purpose of this study is comparing parenting efficacy, knowledge of infant-care and sensitivity, The subjects of this study were 100 parents having 12-24 monthes old child in the city of Jeonju, Korea. Parenting efficacy was developed by Shin, Suk-Jae(1997) and consisting of 16 questions. The knowledge of infant-care was assessed using Knowledge of Child Development Inventory(KCDI) by Yoon Hyung Ju, which was modified by pedology Professor and 3 graduate school students in master's or doctorate courses. In addition, by using a tool made by Gwon, Mi-Gyeong(1998) centering on the literatures on infant cue in Barnard's NCAST program, the parents' sensitivity of infant cue is investigated. The statistical analysis of the collected data is done with SPSS 10.0, and frequency, percentage, average, standard deviation, t/F test and Pearson's correlation are also used. The results of this study were as following: First, mother's parenting efficacy was higher than father's. There were significant differences in parenting efficacy by eudcational level of mothers. Second, knowledge of infant-care was higher in mothers than fathers. Areas that mothers have knowledge of infant-care in the order of the lowest areas are emotional development, sociality development, physical development and cognitive development. Third, mothers reaction to infant cue is more sensitive and positive than father's. Fourth, There were positive correlations with father's parenting efficacy and knowledge of infant-care on emotional development, and paternal parenting uneasiness has negative correlations with his sociality development and emotional development.Meanwhile, There were positive correlations with mother's parenting efficacy and knowledge of infant-care on emotional development. Maternal parenting efficacy has negative correlations with her knowledge of infant-care on emotional development.

Survey the intake of carbonated beverage and the perception of carbonated beverage was conducted with 422 middle school students in Daegu area to clarify attitudes toward carbonated beverages and their consumption in adolescents. Statistical data analysis was done using SPSS version 12.0. Of all subjects, 31.3% preferred carbonated beverage among all beverages consumed, and preference for flavored carbonated beverage was highest (42.2%). Students who liked to drink carbonated beverage spent more money in snacks out of their allowance; frequency of carbonated beverage consumption correlated with amount of allowance (p<0.05). Carbonated beverage was mainly consumed with fast-food (61.5%), and 53.3% of the students purchased the beverages at supermarket. The majority of middle school students (30.4%) drank carbonated beverage more than 3~5 times a week, which was high frequency of carbonated beverage consumption. Preference and consumption frequency beverages differed significantly with knowledge level (p<0.01). Of the subjects, 73.2% drank carbonated beverage without checking nutrient contents, and those with low knowledge level of carbonated beverage neither read the label on nutrients nor were interested in nutrition education (p<0.05). The results underscore the need to provide systematic nutrition education at home and in school to prevent excessive intake of carbonated beverage and to help adolescents choose healthy beverage during a time in life when growth is especially prominent.
This study was conducted to investigate the dietary behaviors and health-related lifestyles, according to exercise habits, of female university students in the Jeonju area. Self-administered questionnaires were collected from 285 students, and the statistical data analysis was completed using the SPSS v. 10.0 program. The results are summarized as follows. The weight, height, and BMI averages of the regular exercise and non-exercise groups were 53.05 kg, 162.46 cm, and 20.23, and 50.81 kg, 161.46 cm, and 19.48, respectively. The breakfast skipping ratio was higher in the non-exercise group than the exercise group. More than 72% of the exercise and 71% of the non-exercise group responded to regularly having lunch at the university canteens or restaurants around campus. Approximately 70% of the exercise and 71% of the non-exercise group responded to having dinner irregularly, which was mainly caused by reasons such as 'irregularity of life style' and 'appointments with friends'. The snack intake ratios of the exercise and non-exercise groups were high, but the exercise group ate more fruit, yogurt, and milk than the non-exercise group. The favorite sports of the exercise group were 'walk(jogging)', 'yoga', 'bicycle,' 'swim,' etc. In particular, 5.3% of the exercise group had ridden a bicycle to the university. More than 97% of the students were non-smokers. About 14% of the exercise and 15% of the non-exercise group rank alcohol once or twice a week. The exercise group did not show exceptional health-oriented dietary behaviors in comparison to the non-exorcise group. Therefore, an exercise-oriented nutrition education program would be beneficial to the students, in order to improve their dietary behaviors and health-related lifestyles.

The color of apparels has the close interdependency on the skin colors of the wearers. This study was carried out to group the skin colors of Korean males into several similar skin colors and to analyze their preference colors. The skin colors were measured quantitatively and classified into several clusters that has similar hue, value and chroma with Munsell color system that is internationally used to communicate the colors. Sample size was 420 Korean males. With color spectrometer, JX-777, 4 points of the body were measured. All subjects had been shown with 40 color chips and answered their preference colors. Data were analysed by K-means Cluster analysis, Duncan test, Frequency and Chi square test using SPSS WIN 10 statistical package. Findings were as follows: 1. The skin colors of Korean males were mixed with skin colors of YR, R, and Y. 2. 420 subjects who have YR color were clustered in 3 kinds of skin color groups. 3. The average face color of total subjects was 4.81YR 5.91/4.97 in Munsell color system, 60.74 in L value, 13.71 in a value, 24.54 in b value. 136 observations out of 420 subjects were composed of Type 1: 4.50YR 6.35/4.87 and 192 observations were composed of Type 2: 4.62YR 5.86/5.12 and 92 observations were composed of Type 3: 5.67YR 5.37/4.79. 4. The average skin color of total 420 subjects was 6.26YR 6.07/4.41 and 62.33 in L value, 10.64 in a value, 23.48 in b value. The average skin color of Type 1 was 6.27YR 6.44/4.27 and of Type 2 was 6.15YR 5.91/4.49 and of Type 3 was 6.49YR 5.84/4.43 respectively. 5. 3 groups showed that the most preference color of sport$.$casual was 2.5Y 8/16 and 7.5PB 4/16 and the most preference color to their skins was 7.5PB 4/16 and 7.5YR 7/16.

The purpose of the study was to explore the information activities of wedding dress shops and how companies' characteristics (the number of business year and the location of shops) and information users'characteristics (the year of career) influenced on utilization of information (fashion information, market information and internal information). In addition, the study was to investigate ratings of the importance of the competitive means. The questionnaire was revised by the researchers on the base of preceding research studies after interviewing wedding dress industry workers and performing a pilot survey. The total l10 copies were distributed to the workers of the wedding shops located in the city of seoul. Fifty six copies from the shops in Kangnam area were returned, and 38 copies at Kangbuk area. For statistical analysis, one-way ANOVA and Duncan's tests were used. The results from the study are follow. 1. The heavily utilized fashion information was collected from international and domestic wedding magazine by the respondents for their merchandise and design planning. 2. According to the companies'characteristics (the number of business year and the location of shop), the 50∼10 year-old companies collected fashion information from international fashion shows, domestic wedding/fashion magazine reporters, and utilized sales data as internal information sources than any other companies. The shops in Kangnam area used international fashion information and market information on popular/unpopular goods more than other shops. 3. According to information users'characteristics (the year of career), the 3-5 year-experienced workers utilized domestic fabric converters as an information source, lists of popular/unpopular goods as well as future forecasting information as internal information more any other workers. 4. Dress design, fabrics and customer service before wedding were considered as very important competitive power by wedding shop workers.

This study investigates the purchasing and wearing conditions of wetsuits, and analyzes consumer awareness on wetsuit functional factors between domestic and imported brands. This research provides basic information on presenting competitiveness and developing suitable wetsuits for the Korean body shape through an investigation of a size system. An in-depth interview was conducted to consider consumer awareness with 10 persons of different levels of scuba diving experience. The survey variables consist of classified suggestion of inquires for functional factors and size systems. We distributed 80 questionnaires to scuba diving club members; subsequently, a total of 66 usable data sets were coded for statistical analysis through SPSS WIN 18.0. The result shows that respondents preferred imported ready-to-wear brands, whereas national ready-to-wear brands were purchased less often. However, the difference in customer awareness of functional factors between domestic and imported brands was not significant. In evaluating the size system of six brands (including three domestic and three imported brands), wetsuits of domestic brands were better fitted to the Korean body shape than imported brands; however, competitiveness has been hindered by public perception that domestic brands imitate imported brands. The results suggest that domestic brands can strengthen their competitiveness through promoting a lower price and size suited to Koreans while trying to change public perception as imitators of imported brands.
