Prevalence of an obese population has been increasing in Korea. Obesity is considered a major risk factor for chronic degenerative diseases. Specifically, prevalence of obesity is prominent for adult woman in Korea. In many weight control programs, weight change did not often show any beneficial effects for health. These facts discourage people in the program. Thus in this study, the anthropometry, blood pressure, serum biochemical indices and dietary habits were compared by percent body fat change for adult women to show the beneficial effects of the weight control program. Study subjects were 134. Measurements were done before and after the weight control program. Percent Body Fat (PBF) was measured by bioelectrical impedance analysis. Using PBF changes, subjects were grouped as I (more than 1% increase), M (${\pm}1%$ change), and D (more than 1% decrease). Data were analyzed using SPSS 12.0 program. Among the 134 participants, 13 increased their weight and 100 decreased. For PBF, 19 increased and 59 decreased. Statistical significant differences were shown for anthropometric assessments before and after for all weight, fat mass, percent body fat, waist-hip ratio and body mass index. I had increases, and D shows decreases. But the difference of D is large than M. Systolic and diastolic blood pressures decreased in all groups (p < 0.05). Fasting blood glucose decreased in all groups but were statistically significant only in D. Also triglyceride decreased in D (p < 0.05). Thus health conditions showed desirable changes in I < M < D in order. Dietary habit changes were desirable with only D. Weight, BMI and other indicators for obesity is not the real indicator for PBF. Recently it is easy to measure PBF. Thus, for weight control programs and to show benefits of the program, PBF is a good indicator for adult women in Korea.

The purpose of this study is to provide basic data for the next curriculum revision, as well as to foster improvements to the quality of the Korean elementary school math classes by analyzing and comparing the Korean 2015 revised curriculum with the current Japanese curriculum of math. To accomplish this purpose, the research questions were set as follows. 1. What are the directions for revising Korean 2015 revised curriculum and the Japanese curriculum for elementary school mathematics? 2. What is the difference between the elements of learning content offered in the respective Korean and Japanese curriculums for elementary school mathematics? The conclusions of this study are as follows. Firstly, although Korea and Japan share common core statistical education objectives, they approach their goals with different methods. Korea focuses on academic competency, while Japan focuses on fostering the "power to live". For the learning process, Korea emphasized process-focused evaluation, while Japan emphasized fostering mathematical thought and thinking through mathematical activities. For class improvement, Korea focused on reducing the learning burden through appropriating the amount of learning by shifting or removing some elements of the learning content. Japan, on the other hand, refocused their attention on improving active learning within the classroom, and also increased the hours of math class within their curriculum. Secondly, there was a difference in the content composition of the curriculums of Korea and Japan. By comparing the elements of learning content, I got the conclusions for the next curriculum revision in Korea.

Customer expectations and requirements for products play an important role in product planning for companies and decision making process for the consumer. These expectations are expressed by product qualities that consumers consider important when they purchase. Therefore, to identify quality elements that reflect consumer requirements would be a useful guide for companies. The purposes of this study are to find out quality factors of apparel product, to identify apparel product quality elements using Kano's theory, to find attributes of product which improvement are required. Women over 20 years-old from metropolitan areas in South Korea participated in the study and a quota sampling method was used. A questionnaire was arranged with four separate subject sections, importance of quality, Kano's questionnaires, and demographics. Data from 525 questionnaires were used for the statistical analysis. The results were as follows: Six dimensions of product quality(i.e., usefulness, performance, aesthetic, symbol, individuality and appearance) were identified. According to Kano's quality elements, performance was categorized into must-be quality which could lead to product dissatisfaction. Usefulness and appearance were categorized into one-dimensional quality which lead to both satisfaction and dissatisfaction. Aesthetic, symbol, and individuality was categorized into attractive quality which could lead to satisfaction. Findings of this study provide both industry and academic researchers with a guide to increase customer satisfaction in the product development process.
Objectives: This study analyzed the relationship between BMI (body mass index), perceived health status, and oral health behaviors of schoolgirls. Methods: This study utilized data from the 13th (2017) Korea Youth Risk Behavior Web-Based Survey. A total of 29,337 schoolgirls were analyzed. Statistical analysis was performed using PASW Statistics 21.0 (SPSS Inc., Chicago, IL, USA). Results: Compared to the obese group, the rate of being recognized as healthy was 1.882 times higher in the normal-weight group and 1.623 times in the underweight group. The rate of using supplementary oral hygiene devices was 1.383 times higher in the underweight group and 1.091 times in the normal-weight group than in the obese group. Compared to the obese group, the experience rate of the sealant was 1.407 times in the underweight group. Compared to the obese group, the scaling experience rate was 1.282 times higher for the underweight group and 1.205 times for the normal-weight group. Conclusions: These results suggest that individual health behaviors are interrelated. There is a need for an integrated approach in the planning and implementation of future health promotion strategies, and it would be useful to design a program that considers health characteristics such as BMI.
Purpose: This study wanted to empirically study the effects of ISO 22301 and ISMS certification requirements on Business Performance. Method: For research, a survey was conducted on ISO 22301 and ISMS-certified companies to collect data and use SPASS18 and AMOS18 for statistical analysis. Results: Verification of the hypotheses through the questionnaire demonstrated that BCP, BCM operation, management, and access control of ISO 22301 and ISMS certification requirements, including BIA, risk assessment, BCP, BCM, BCM operation, management, and access security requirements, affect the enterprise's performance (quality improvement, customer satisfaction, financial performance) through the intermediation of the enterprise culture, and the feasibility of the survey paper is high. Conclution: This study has derived the impact of ISO 22301 and ISMS certification requirements on business performance, and based on this, it is deemed necessary to present improvements to ISO 22301 and ISMS certification, and to study future ISO 22301 certification activation and domestic certification, BCMS.
The statistics of disaster and safety control which have been produced by NEMA(National Emergency Management Agency) and other related agencies have some problems which show redundancies and the lack of connections. These problems can result in disbelief of disaster-management related policies and cause uncertainties on standardization. One of the main problems is caused by the lack of an integrated system that can coordinate available statistical resources. The objectives of this paper are to propose possible ways for the rearrangement of statistics categories, the improvement of statistics indicators and the integration of statistics of disaster and safety management based on the improvement of related laws and regulations. Through the integrated system for an efficient production of disaster and safety-related statistics, it will be possible to establish more accredited disaster-management policies based on the scientific statistics and international standard.
Members of the genus Brassica, which are known as oil crops or cruciferous vegetables, are widely cultivated in Canada, Australia, Asian and Europe. Because Brassica species have high yields, are well adapted to their environments, and are self-incompatible, the germplasm is abundant. Previous studies have reported abundant genetic diversity even within Brassica subspecies. In Korea, fresh cabbage leaves are eaten with roast meat, and to meet the current popular demand, new varieties are being increasingly bred. To determine the genetic diversity and relationships among the cabbage vegetables in Korea, we evaluated the genetic variation of 18 accessions based on 5S and 18S ribosomal RNA (rRNA) gene sequences. We detected many variable nucleotide sites, especially in the 5S rRNA gene sequences. Because the length of the 18S rRNA gene might influence the dissimilarity rate statistics, we used both the 5S and 18S sequences to analyze the phylogenetic relationships. S7 (B. oleracea) showed the most distant phylogenetic relationship with the other Brassica species. Interestingly, B2 (B. oleracea), B15, and B18 (B. campestris) have three different types of leaf profiles, and were divided into one group, and the other Brassica species formed another group. Statistical analysis of interspecies and intraspecies genetic distances revealed that B. campestris L. showed higher genetic diversity than B. oleracea L. This work provides additional data that facilitates the evaluation of the genetic variation and relationships among Brassica species. The results could be used in functional plant breeding programs to improve Brassica crops.

Background: Despite the widespread use of dexamethasone in veterinary and human medicine, it is reported to cause some severe pregnancy related side effects like abortion in some animals. The mechanism of the response is not clear but seems to be related to interspecies and/or breed difference in response which may involve alterations in the concentrations of some reproductive hormones. Methods: Twenty Sahel goats comprising 18 does and 2 bucks were used for this study. Pregnancies were achieved by natural mating after synchronization. Repeated dexamethasone injections were given at 0.25 mg/kg body weight. Blood samples were collected biweekly for hormonal assay. Uterine biopsies were harvested at days 28 and day 78 of gestation through caesarean section for immunohistochemical analysis using 3 pregnant does randomly selected from each group at each instant. Data were expressed as Means ${\pm}$ Standard Deviations and analyzed using statistical soft ware package, GraphPad Instant, version 3.0 (2003) and progesterone receptor (PR) were scored semi-quantitatively. Results: Dexamethasone treatments had no significant (p > 0.05) effect on progesterone and estrogen concentrations in pregnant Sahel goats but up regulated PR from 2+ to 3+ in second trimester. Conclusion: As dexamethasone adverse effect on placenta is an established fact, the lack of effect on progesterone level in this study may be due to the fact that unlike other species whose progesterone production during pregnancy is placenta - dependent, in goats is corpus luteum - dependent. Consequently dexamethasone adverse effect on placenta reported in literatures did not influence progesterone levels during pregnancy in Sahel goat. The up regulation of progesterone receptor (PR) in Sahel goat gravid uterus is a beneficial effects and that dexamethasone can safely be used in corpus luteum - dependent progesterone secreting pregnant animal species like Sahel goat and camel. Therefore source of progesterone secretions during pregnancy should be considered in clinical application of dexamethasone in pregnancy.
This study was to investigate the consumption patterns of fast food in small city. The survey was conducted by questionnaires from March to April in 1997. The object was 500 men and women who were in their teens through fifties and living in Kimchen and Sangju city. A total of 444 subjects(88.8%) excluding incomplete answer were analyzed, all statistical data analysis were conducted using the $SAS/PC^+$. 1. The reason why people go to fast food restaurants are quickness, a convenient place, good taste, low prices, good service, and good atmosphere. There was significant correlation with each element with one exception between taste and prices. 2. On the question about the fast food which was eaten most frequently, responded hamburger to 39.86%, noodles to 29.50%, chicken to 16.67%, pizza to 10.36% and the others to 3.60%. And female, teens and twenties ate hamburger more often and another groups ate noodles more often. 3. The standard of choosing fast food restaurants was taste, prices, sanitation, atmosphere and service. There was significant correlation with exception between taste and prices, sanitation and service, atmosphere and service. 4. About propriety of fast food serving size as one meal, it was not enough portion for female and 40s. 5. The awareness that eating foreign-made food was not right, was significant difference among age groups, but not sex. 6. Customers was discontented with sanitation, price and service. There was also significant correlation with each element. 7. The frequency of eating fast food was 1-2 times/a month(35.36%), 3-5 times/a month(31.31%), 5-10 times/a month(18.24%), hardly using(11.04%), 10-20 times/a month(2.70%), over 20 times/a month(1.35%). There was significant difference among sex and age groups.
The purposes of this study were to: a) investigate personal and foodservice operational factors affecting job stress of school foodservice dietitians, b) analyze the contribution of emotional labor to job stress of school foodservice dietitians. A survey was conducted from May 2 to June 13, 2008 to collect data from school foodservice dietitians (N=546). 206 questionnaires were returned completed, and 15 improperly-completed questionnaires were excluded. Finally, 191 questionnaires were used for final statistical analysis (usage rate : 34.98%). The results of the study were as follows. First, personal variables significantly affecting dietitians' job stress were 'monthly bills(p<0.05)' and 'total length of time in school foodservice (p<0.05)'. Second, foodservice operational variables affecting dietitians' job stress were 'school level (p<0.05)', 'type of school foodservice management (p<0.01)', 'number of meal service times (p<0.05)', 'total number of meals served per day (p<0.001)', 'number of meals served per day for students (p<.001)', 'number of meals served per day for teachers (p<0.001)', and 'number of foodservice staff (p<0.001)'. Third, emotional labor was found to contribute significantly to the job stress of dietitians in school foodservice (p<0.001). It was found that as dietitians experience more emotional labor at work, more job stress is experienced. Stress management is a very important and meaningful contributor to foodservice quality as well as to personal well-being for workers in school foodservice. Therefore, it is proposed that management of emotional labor is essential for stress management. Further, emotional labor and job stress should no longer be considered a personal matter, but rather should be approached systematically in all aspects of a school foodservice organization.
