철도 역내 상업시설의 이용 활성화를 위한 개선방안 모색 - 일본의 역내 상업시설 'ecute'에 관한 고찰을 중심으로 - (A Study on the Improvement Plan for the Revitalization of Commercial Facilities in Railway Station Building - Focused on Ecute of Commercial Facilities of Railway Station Building in Japan -)

  • Based on an analysis of the characteristics of "Ecute" of the East Japan Railway Company (JR East) that planned the world's first large scale commercial facilities inside a ticket gate (paid-area including waiting room and platforms), the present study proposes a brand development of commercial facilities inside aged railway stations, where only basic railway business have been provided focusing on passenger transportation, by renewing the definition of railway commercial facilities and presenting a detailed planning and the direction of the operation system. A list of practical tasks that can be carried out in academia, planning and operation / management to facilitate the revitalization of the use of commercial facilities inside railway stations are as follows: 1) the setting of a wide scope for the revitalization of railway commercial facilities around the railway station focusing on private-funded stations in addition to existing stations; a setup of the direct scope of commercial development in the practical railway operation for passengers and stations in terms of external research, and a corresponding shift in thinking in terms of internal research 2) development of under used spaces such as the transfer area (Gongdeok Seoul Wangsimri Station are first target stations where more than four subway lines intersect) 3) brand establishment through improvement strategies for image and symbolism specialized for railway stations 4) rent of suitable business stores and layout of commercial facilities by analysis of passenger move pattern 5) development of commercial facilities which can attract customers by displaying various products, as well as finding a way to develop them in to a base facility that connects to local infrastructures 6) providing advertisement and management system for continual maintenance, and 7) brand specialization through unique storytelling and design plan that stimulates sensibility. The above study results can be utilized as a starting point for design brand awareness about commercial facilities in railway stations in Korea, which can be developed further to improve station image and passenger convenience, as well as to increase the revenue of railway businesses.

  • Recently the construction of stations under railway lines and railway sections passing through central area of cities are increasing, calling for an urgent establishment of countermeasures against railway vibration and its subsequent second-phase noise. Of technology developed up to now, the most efficient countermeasure is the floating slab track, a track system isolated from the sub-structure by springs. Unfortunately, however, the system design technology and technology for key components have not yet developed in Korea. As such, in this study, the analysis and design technology of floating slab track and its vibration isolator technology can be achieved. In preparation for future demands, it is expected to raise awareness for the need of technology self-support and to make a meaningful contribution to mitigating vibration and noise produced by the next-generation high-speed railway.

  • Recently the construction of stations under railway lines and railway sections passing through central area of cities are increasing, calling for an urgent establishment of countermeasures against railway vibration and its subsequent second-phase noise. Of technology developed up to now, the most efficient countermeasure is the floating slab track, a track system isolated from the sub-structure by springs. Developed in this study, anti-vibration device for floating slab track (HLRM-High Load Rubber Mount) Haman station affiliated to the primary measurement was conducted in October 2012, one year after the second measurement after 2013 to be carried out in November and we want to change that. It is expected to raise awareness for the need of technology self-support and to make a meaningful contribution to mitigating vibration and noise produced by the next-generation high-speed railway.

주요 철도역사의 고객이용패턴 조사분석 (An Examination of Customer Usage for Major Railway Station Buildings)

  • Under the rapid change in environment of our society and culture, it is also called for a reform in railway management that has traditionally focused on transportation service. Thus developing a business model to use station buildings as a new source of profit has become a promising core business of railway companies. This study aims to find a way to maximize profits by strategically utilizing station buildings and thereby increasing accessibility to customers and consolidating facilities as a key service point. The subjects of this study include eight station buildings that can represent three types of railway stations including departure stations, junction stations, and metro stations. The researcher conducted an analysis on moving lines for examining user distribution and facility utilization within the selected buildings, a survey for collecting basic information on usage and measuring customer satisfaction of facility in the buildings, and a sight analysis to examine accessibility to the station buildings. On the basis of these analyses, the researcher examined the correlations between convenience, visibility, recognizability and functionality with regard to commerce, amenities, couches, direction boards, etc. within station waiting rooms. On the basis of the above analyses, the researcher provides a scheme to increase profitability in railway operation business and customer benefits of using station buildings by drawing up a plan to improve usage of station buildings and maximize profit-making potential for each category of station buildings.

  • In the areas susceptible to vibration and noise induced by railway traffic such as downtown area and stations under railway lines, the vibration and the structure-borne noise can be solved by floating slab track system separating the entire track structure from its sub-structure using anti-vibration mat or springs. In other countries, the core technologies for vibration-proof design and vibration isolator - one of key components - have been developed and many installation experiences have been accumulated. However, in Korea, since the design technology of system and components are not yet developed, the foreign systems are being introduced without any adjustment. Thus, in this study, the vibration isolator has been developed and its performance are investigated by the dynamic analysis of a station structure under railways lines and the floating slab track system. For this purpose, the loads transferred from the vibration isolator of the floating slab track were evaluated by train running simulation considering vehicle-track interaction, and then the dynamic analysis of station structure subjected to these loads was performed. The dynamic analysis results show that the proposed floating slab track can reduce the vibration of structure by about 25dB compared with that in conventional ballast track without floating system.

  • To upgrade railway traffic density without any change of signal block length between stations on existing railway lines, a new signalling system of train control "the pattern control technique" is suggested. It needs very little change to computerize the cab signal using transponders. A computer simulation system is developed to experiment the new control method. The new signalling system shows much increase of the railway traffic efficiency. The train head-way time by the fixed signalling system and the new pattern control system is analyzed. The pattern control technique shows 35% increasement of trair operation under same condition of railway and trains.nd trains.

In other countries, the source technologies for anti-vibration design and vibration isolator - one of key components - have been developed and many installation experiences have been accumulated. However, in Korea, since the system design technology and technologies for key components are not yet developed, the foreign system are being introduced without any adjustment, and the key component, vibration isolator, depends on imports. In this study, analysis on floating slab system installed rubber mat and stopper is carried for the examination on the safety of floating slab system.

전철 지중배전선로의 충전전류보상에 관한 연구 (A Study of the Charging Current Effect on Underground Distribution Line in Electric Railway)

  • Because on the high-tension underground distribution line of an electric railway high voltage XLPE Cable two or three circuits between railway stations with a standard as receiving transformer facilities are established at a $30km{\sim}50km$ interval, reactive power in which the phase of a current is larger than that of a voltage is supplied when trains are not working, so when there are no loading or low loading as night. Due to the long-distance trend of the underground distribution system on an alternating current railway distribution line, the terminal voltage of a transformer is over the standard voltage, and after all, commercial cycle overvoltage is continued. To solve this problem, the shunt reactor is installed in middle of power distribution lines to maintain receiver voltage meted under the allowance regulation through control of the reactive power. Also, in case that the thickness of single cable is over $60mm^2$ and length of line is about over 30km, a circuit breaker is broken by shorting shunt ability of charging current in excess of shunt current(31.5A.rms). Therefore, this thesis presents installing the location of shunt reactor for quantitative analysis by using optimum algorism for compensation and control of the charging current.
