  • Grid-connected inverters (GCIs) with an LCL output filter have the ability of attenuating high-frequency (HF) switching ripples. However, by using only grid-current control, the system is prone to resonances if it is not properly damped, and the current distortion is amplified significantly under highly distorted grid conditions. This paper proposes a synchronous reference frame equivalent proportional-integral (SRF-EPI) controller in the αβ stationary frame using the parallel virtual resistance-based active damping (PVR-AD) strategy for grid-interfaced distributed generation (DG) systems to suppress LCL resonance. Although both a proportional-resonant (PR) controller in the αβ stationary frame and a PI controller in the dq synchronous frame achieve zero steady-state error, the amplitude- and phase-frequency characteristics differ greatly from each other except for the reference tracking at the fundamental frequency. Therefore, an accurate SRF-EPI controller in the αβ stationary frame is established to achieve precise tracking accuracy. Moreover, the robustness, the harmonic rejection capability, and the influence of the control delay are investigated by the Nyquist stability criterion when the PVR-based AD method is adopted. Furthermore, grid voltage feed-forward and multiple PR controllers are integrated into the current loop to mitigate the current distortion introduced by the grid background distortion. In addition, the parameters design guidelines are presented to show the effectiveness of the proposed strategy. Finally, simulation and experimental results are provided to validate the feasibility of the proposed control approach.

  • Nonlinear guidance law combined with a pseudo pursuit guidance is proposed, to perform stationary target observation mission. Multiple UAVs are considered, with waypoint constraint. The whole guidance is divided into two steps: firstly, waypoint approach, with specified incidence angle; and secondly, loitering around the stationary target. Geometric approach is used to consider the constraint on the waypoint, and a specified phase angle between the loitering UAV and the approaching UAV. In the waypoint approach step, UAVs fly to the waypoint using the pseudo pursuit guidance law. After passing the waypoint, UAVs turn around the target, using a distance error dynamics-based guidance law. Numerical simulations are performed, to verify the performance of the proposed guidance law.

  • This paper summarizes recent development of analytical and algorithmical results for stationary FIFO queues with multiple Markovian arrival streams, where service time distributions are general and they may differ for different arrival streams. While this kind of queues naturally arises in considering queues with a superposition of independent phase-type arrivals, the conventional approach based on the queue length dynamics (i.e., M/G/1 pradigm) is not applicable to this kind of queues. On the contrary, the workload process has a Markovian property, so that it is analytically tractable. This paper first reviews the results for the stationary distributions of the amount of work-in-system, actual waiting time and sojourn time, all of which were obtained in the last six years by the author. Further this paper shows an alternative approach, recently developed by the author, to analyze the joint queue length distribution based on the waiting time distribution. An emphasis is placed on how to construct a numerically feasible recursion to compute the stationary queue length mass function.

  • This paper introduces a compression algorithm for power quality disturbance signal via the discrete wavelet transform, DWT. Algorithm to estimate a time delay from the power quality disturbance signal is proposed. Pseudo-stationary signal is constructed from the estimated time delay. A difference signal or nonstationary signal is obtained by removing a pseudo-stationary signal from a disturbance signal. DWT is applied to a difference signal. The threshold is applied to reduce a number of coefficients. Simulation results show the resonable compression ratio while keep low signal distortion.

  • To develop more advanced binaphthol derived CSPs, two new 1,1-bi-2-naphthol derived chiral stationary phases (CSPs) (CSP 1 and CSP 2) were prepared by connecting with silica gel at a hydroxy (OH) group of binaphthol. Previously reported two 1,1'-binaphthyl-2,2'-diamine derived CSPs (CSP 3 and CSP 4) were also prepared to compare the role of their functional groups (-OH and -$NH_2$) with CSP 1 and CSP 2. Enantioseparation of randomly selected, 11 chiral compounds on these four CSPs was performed and the results compared to each other. 3,5-Dinitrobenzoyl (3,5-DNB) derivatives of each CSP showed better results than the others and binaphthyldiamine derived CSP showed slightly better than binaphthol derived one.

  • Liquid chromatographic enantiomer separation of ${\alpha}$-amino acid esters as nitrobenzoxadiazole (NBD) derivatives was performed using several chiral stationary phases (CSPs) based on polysaccharide derivatives under fluorescence detection. For enantiomer separation by normal HPLC, the non-aqueous derivatization method of ${\alpha}$-amino acid esters for NBD analytes was introduced. Among the six CSPs used in this study, the performance of Chiralpak IA was superior for enantiomer resolution of NBD derivatives of several ${\alpha}$-amino acid methyl esters. Also the convenient analytical method using polysaccharide-derived CSPs developed in this study was applied to determine the optical purity of ${\alpha}$-amino acids esters. It was investigated that the enantiomeric impurity levels of 0.02-1.73% were found after determination of enantiomeric purities of several commercially available L-amino acid methyl esters. It is expected to be quite useful for enantiomer separation of other ${\alpha}$-amino acid esters as NBD derivatives by normal HPLC.

  • The direct chromatographic separation of enantiomers by chiral stationary phases (CSPs) has been extensively developed over the past two decades, and has now become the most popular method for the analytical and preparative separations of enantiomers. Polysaccharide derivatives coated onto silica gel, as CSPs, playa significantly important role in the enantioseparations of a wide range of chiral compounds using high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC). Unfortunately, the strict solvent limitation of the mobile phases is the main defect in the method developments of these types of coated CSPs. Therefore, the immobilization of polysaccharide derivatives onto silica gel, via chemical bonding, to obtain a new generation of CSPs compatible with the universal solvents used in HPLC is increasingly important. In this article, our recent studies on the immobilization of polysaccharide derivatives onto the silica gel, as CSPs, through radical copolymerization with various vinyl monomers are reported. Polysaccharide derivatives, with low vinyl content, can be efficiently fixed onto silica gel with high chiral recognition.

  • This paper studies the existence of weak solutions and the stability of stationary solutions to stochastic 3D globally modified Navier-Stokes equations with unbounded delays in the phase space BCL-∞(H). We first prove the existence and uniqueness of weak solutions by using the classical technique of Galerkin approximations. Then we study stability properties of stationary solutions by using several approach methods. In the case of proportional delays, some sufficient conditions ensuring the polynomial stability in both mean square and almost sure senses will be provided.

  • Structural vibrations of adjacent buildings, manufacturing factories and engines on the stationary diesel power plant were increased by the variation of phase angle between two engines sometimes. In this paper, top bracings and synchrophaser have been introduced in order to reduce these vibrations. As a result, all of structural vibrations were greatly improved by the phase adjustment of 6th order X-mode vibration with these.

  • We have re-examined the linear solvation energy relationships in reversed phase liquid chromatography by considering various solutes including quite a number of compounds of strong hydrogen bond capability. We observed that solutes of strong hydrogen bond ability should be excluded in order to obtain resonable correlations between In k' and solute polarity parameters and that inclusion of one or two such solutes causes severe distortions of correlation results. This anomaly may be due to existence of residual silanol groups in the stationary phase, that is, their specific interactions with solutes.
