Indium-Zinc Oxide Thin Film Transistors Based N-MOS Inverter (Indium-Zinc 산화물 박막 트랜지스터 기반의 N-MOS 인버터)

  • We report on amorphous thin-film transistors (TFTs) with indium zinc oxide (IZO) channel layers that were fabricated via a solution process. We prepared the IZO semiconductor solution with 0.1 M indium nitrate hydrate and 0.1 M zinc acetate dehydrate as precursor solutions. The solution- processed IZO TFTs showed good performance: a field-effect mobility of $7.29cm^2/Vs$, a threshold voltage of 4.66 V, a subthreshold slope of 0.48 V/dec, and a current on-to-off ratio of $1.62{\times}10^5$. To investigate the static response of our solution-processed IZO TFTs, simple resistor load-type inverters were fabricated by connecting a $2-M{\Omega}$ resistor. Our IZOTFTbased N-MOS inverter performed well at operating voltage, and therefore, isa good candidate for advanced logic circuits and display backplane.

  • For many of the rigid pavements the observations of significantly different performances were explained to relate distress mechanisms to distress manifestation and to develope better prediction of performance. This paper summarizes the result of an investigation of the resilient elastic and fatigue behavior of inservice cement concrete pavements. Static indirect tensile tests were. conducted in order to estimate the average tensile strength of each of the projects Repeat-load indirect tensile tests were conducted to determine the fatigue and resilient elastic characteristics and the relationship between fatigue life and stress/strength ratio. Deformation measurements were taken during fatigue testing in order to determine the resilient elastic properties of the material and the changes in these properties during the test period.

Development and Durability Evaluation of a Bimaterial Composite Frame by Pultrusion Process (인발성형 공정을 통한 이종재료 복합소재 프레임 개발 및 내구성 평가)

  • Recently, the growing demand for weight reduction and improved structure durabilityfor commercial vehicles has led to active research into the development and application of suitablecomposite materials. This studysuggests abimaterial composite frame produced by apultrusion process to replace steel frames. We focused on the development of a composite frameconsisting of two types of materialsby mixing anorthotropic material with anisotropic material. The inside layer consisted of an aluminum pipe, and the outside layer was composed of a glass fiber pipe. To determine the strength and failure mechanisms of the composite material, tensile tests, shear tests, and three-point bending tests were conducted, followed by fatigue tests. After static testing, the fatigue tests were conducted at a load frequency of 5 Hz, a stress ratio (R) of 0.1, and an endurance limit of $10^6$ for the S-N curve. The resultsshowed that the failure modes were related to both the core design and the laminating conditions.

Hysteretic behavior of perforated steel plate shear walls with beam-only connected infill plates

  • The steel plate shear wall with beam-only connected infill plate (SSW-BO) is an innovative lateral load resisting system consisting of infill plates connected to surrounding beams and separated from the main columns. In this research, the effects of perforation diameter as well as slenderness ratios of infill plates on the hysteresis behavior of SSW-BO systems were studied experimentally. Experimental testing is performed on eight one-sixth scaled one-story SSW-BO specimens with two plate thicknesses and four different circular opening ratios at the center of the panels under fully reversed cyclic quasi-static loading in compliance with the SAC test protocol. Strength, stiffness, ductility and energy absorption were evaluated based on the hysteresis loops. It is found that the systems exhibited stable hysteretic behavior during testing until significant damage in the connection of infill plates to surrounding beams at large drifts. It is also seen that pinching occurred in the hysteresis loops, since the hinge type connections were used as boundaries at four corners of surrounding frames. The strength and initial stiffness degradation of the perforated specimens containing opening ratio of 0.36 compared to the solid one is in the range of 20% to 30% and 40% to 50%, respectively.

  • The shoulder joint permit ate greatest mobility of any joint area carries out the importment function of stabilization for hand use. So handgrip activity is important to evaluate while assessing shoulder load in manual work. There was an association between static handgrip and shoulder muscle activity. The purpose of this study was to find out the changes of the hand grip strength according to shouter an81e. One hundred (50 female, 50 male) college adult volunteers with no known shoulder dysfunction participated subject in three positions with elbow extension: (1) shoulder $0^{\circ}$ flexion (2) shoulder $90^{\circ}C$ flexion (3)shoulder $180^{\circ}C$ flexion. The paired t-test was used to determine the different in grip strength between right and left hand at shouter position change. All, there was significiant for all three position by right and left shoulder (p<0.001). In mon, the ANOVA results revealed not a significiant F-ratio fer all three position by right and left hand. In woman, revealed significiant (p<0.05).

Experimental behavior and shear bearing capacity calculation of RC columns with a vertical splitting failure

  • The behavior of reinforced concrete (RC) columns made from high strength materials was investigated experimentally. Six high-strength concrete specimen columns (1:4 scale), which included three with high-strength transverse reinforcing bars and three with normal-strength transverse reinforcement, were tested under double curvature bending load. The effects of yielding strength and ratio of transverse reinforcement on the cracking patterns, hysteretic response, shear strength, ductility, strength reduction, energy dissipation and strain of reinforcement were studied. The test results indicated that all specimens failed in splitting failure, and specimens with high-strength transverse reinforcement exhibited better seismic performance than those with normal-strength transverse reinforcement. It also demonstrated that the strength of high-strength lateral reinforcing bars was fully utilized at the ultimate displacements. Shear strength formula of short concrete columns, which experienced a splitting failure, was proposed based on the Chinese concrete code. To enhance the applicability of the model, it was corroborated with 47 short concrete columns selected from the literature available. The results indicated that, the proposed method can give better predictions of shear strength for short columns that experienced a splitting failure than other shear strength models of ACI 318 and Chinese concrete codes.

  • This paper deals with the shaking table test(STT), the Quasi-Static Test(QST), and the Pseudo-Dynamic Test(PDT) to evaluate the seismic performance of RC bridge piers under near fault ground motion. Five scaled specimens were constructed the weight of the superstructure was applied through the prestressing strand at the centroid of the column section during the QST and PDT. However, the STT was simulated. The lateral inertia force of the superstructure by the mass frame which was linked with the pier because of the limited payload of shaking table. Particularly for the STT, friction underneath the mass frame was minimized by special details and it was verified by a series of pre-load test. Scale factor of the RC piers was 4.25.

Design of a piezovibrocone and calibration chamber

  • This paper presents the details of indigenous development of the piezovibrocone and calibration chamber. The developed cone has a cylindrical friction sleeve of $150cm^2$ surface area, capped with a $60^{\circ}$ apex angle conical tip of $15cm^2$ cross sectional area. It has a hydraulic shaker, coupled to the cone penetrometer with a linear displacement unit. The hydraulic shaker can produce cyclic load in different types of wave forms (sine, Hover sine, triangular, rectangular and external wave) at a range of frequency 1-10 Hz with maximum amplitude of 10 cm. The piezovibrocone can be driven at the standard rate of 2 cm/sec using a loading unit of 10 ton capacity. The calibration chamber is of size $2m{\times}2m{\times}2m$. The sides of the chamber and the top as well as the bottom portions are rigid. It has a provision to apply confining pressure (to a maximum value of $4kg/cm^2$) through the flexible rubber membrane inlined with the side walls of the calibration chamber. The preliminary static as well as dynamic cone penetration tests have been done sand in the calibration chamber. From the experimental results, an attempt has been made to classify the soil based on friction ratio ($f_R$) and the cone tip resistance ($q_c$).

Estimation of Dynamic Characteristics of a Rubber Component for Subframe in Automobile Vehicle (승용차 서브프레임용 고무부시의 동강성 예측)

  • While rubber components are extensively used in automobile vehicle, there are still a lot of difficulties in designing the rubber components applied in complex shapes and preloaded states because of the complicated material properties. In this paper, an efficient experimental method is suggested, which estimates the dynamic stiffness of a rubber component using rubber material test and static stiffness of the bush. And it is verified by comparing with FEM predictions and experimental results. This method is capable of predicting the dynamic stiffness of a rubber bush under various load conditions from minimized test data. Also it estimates dynamic characteristics of a rubber component using rubber material test and FEM calculation.

Multiple Sink Nodes to Improve Performance in WSN

  • Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) consist of multiple tiny and power constrained sensors which use radio frequencies to carry out sensing in a designated sensor area. To effectively design and implement reliable WSN, it is critical to consider models, protocols, and algorithms that can optimize energy consumption of all the sensor nodes with optimal amount of packet delivery. It has been observed that deploying a single sink node comes with numerous challenges especially in a situation with high node density and congestion. Sensor nodes close to a single sink node receive more transmission traffic load compared to other sensors, thus causing quick depletion of energy which finally leads to an energy hole and sink hole problems. In this paper, we proposed the use of multiple energy efficient sink nodes with brute force technique under optimized parameters to improve on the number of packets delivered within a given time. Simulation results not only depict that, deploying N sink nodes in a sensor area has a maximum limit to offer a justifiable improvement in terms of packet delivery ratio but also offers a reduction in End to End delay and reliability in case of failure of a single sink node, and an improvement in the network lifetime rather than deploying a single static sink node.
