  • This paper presents an instantaneous voltage control scheme of au킹liary power supply system for the electric railway v vehicles, The resonance problem of the LC filter and the existing steady state error are more serious as the use of l instantaneous voltage control techniques for the fast transient response at the nonlinear load, A filter capacitor current f feedback loop is considered to increase the damping ratio of the voltage transfer function for the suppression of the resonance problem of the LC inverter output filter. To eliminate the steady state en‘or existing in case of the AC l instantaneous voltage control. the high gain transfer function is added to the conventional PI controller. The theoretical a analysis is well described with the simulation results. The validity of the proposed schemes is well verified through the s simulation and expelimental results for the 5 kVA prototype.

  • A new control approach using neural network for the robust position control of a BRUSHLESS direct drive(BLDD) motor is presented. The linear quadratic controller plus feedforward neural network is employed to obtain the robust BLDD motor system approximately linearized using field-orientation method for an AC servo. The neural network is trained in on-line phases and this neural network is composed by a feedforward recall and error back-propagation training. Since the total number of nodes are only eight, this system will be easily realized by the general microprocessor. During the normal operation, the input-output response is sampled and the weighting value is trained by error back-propagation at each sample period to accommodate the possible variations in the parameters or load torque. And the state space analysis is performed to obtain the state feedback gains systematically. In addition, the robustness is also obtained without affecting overall system response.

  • This paper is proposed to position and speed control of interior permanent magnet synchronous motor(IPMSM) drive without mechanical sensor. The rotor position, which is an essential component of any vector control schemes, is calculated through the instantaneous stator flux position and an estimated flux value of rotating reference frame. A closed-loop state observer is implemented to compute the speed feedback signal. The validity of the proposed sensorless scheme is confirmed by simulation and its dynamic performance is examined in detail.

  • An adaptive learning control scheme by use of multilayer neural networks for compensating for uncertainties in nonlinear dynamic system is examined. Multilayer neural networks are introduced to map the uncertainties in nonlinear dynamics and perform nonlinear state feedback. Parameters of neural networks are adjusted by conventional back-propagation algorithms modified with the projection operation. Effectiveness of the proposed scheme for tracking control are demonstrated through computer simulations.

  • This paper describes a novel control method of a three-phase PWM inverter for uninterruptible power supply(UPS) applications. To obtain the fast dynamics and excellent harmonic characteristics, a new state feedback control technique is proposed. The proposed control consists of the inner-loop current and outer-loop voltage controllers with a load current estimator to reduce the effects of the load variations and nonlinearity. In order to verify the effectiveness of the proposed control, the simulation is carried out for various load condition.

  • This paper proposes a performance improvement to a control system with state feedback control loops and feedforward control loops proposed in a previous paper. The technique allows to solve the regulator problem and at the same time to make the system follow command signal. The scheme is implemented in a 16 bit microcomputer using a floating coprocessor. Tests on a DC machine have been conducted, comparisons with the previous results are made.

  • This paper considers an active vibration control system based on pole placement incorporating the internal model principle when the system is subjected to disturbances which are generated by a linear dynamical system. Experimental results are presented which show the effectiveness of the method when the system is excited by a sine wave disturbance and system parameters are knwon. An adaptive control design is also discussed.

  • When a saturating control system has integral action, reset windup can cause instability as well as make the system performance unsatisfactory. An antirset-windup (ARW) limiter has been suggested to improve the stability and performance. It has been implemented with analog circuits and tested by simulations. This paper presents the stability condition of a double-integrator plant having the state feedback plus integral-action controller with the ARW limiter by using both Liapunov's second method and graphical method together.

  • This paper investigates the control problem which is specified by an uncertain linear system and a linear quadratic performance index. Only the size of parameter uncertainty is assumed to be given instead of its statistics. In addition, a mathing condition which constrains the system structure is assumed to be satisfied. The control law can be obtained by solving an LQ optimal control problem for a nominal system.

  • A new control method for DC motor position control with variable structure is presented. The proposed method uses the desired trajectory with optimal input satisfying the given performance requirement as the switching curve and is insensitive to parameter variation and disturbance. To show the validity of the proposed method, digital computer simulation is performed. And the result is compared with that of the optimal state feedback.
