  • Crowdfunding is growing up SNS spread, raising funds from numerous people which are offering necessary funding of private and enterprise using the internet-based platforms. The function of crowdfunding uses innovative financing in being business and start-ups having difficulty in financing. Crowdfunding in our domestic is concentrated on culture and arts in the early adoption phase, and is numerous projects with public features. However, the investment case of crowdfundig in e-commerce trade start-ups is rarely in spite of a increased attention for crowdfunding.. The purpose of this study examined the factors to be considered when using successfully crowdfunding on e-commerce trade start-ups. This study is understanding the legal and policy of crowdfunding market status and other countries, and suggests the activation of the direction of government policy, legal system, and participation of financing suppliers and investors as activating the law and policy system related the crowdfunding on a domestic in terms of e-commerce trade start-ups investment.

A Study on the Caste of Top 50 Indian Companies' Founders: Analyzing from the Viewpoint of their Wealth, Market Capitalization and the Start-ups' Values (인도 50대(大) 기업 창업주의 출신 카스트 연구: 재산, 시가총액, 스타트업 가치에 따른 기업별 분석)

  • Purpose & methodology - This study is to answer the following three questions, analyzing data on Top 50 Indian Billionaires, Top 50 Indian companies and Top 50 Indian start-ups. The first is whether or not traiditonal merchant caste like Vaisya's ability of creating wealth declined as some studies argue. The second is whether non-merchant caste like Brahmin, Kshatriya, OBC, Dalit, emerged as an India's new business elite. The third is whether the results of top 50 Indian companies and top 50 start-ups' analyses have similarities with that of top 50 Indian Billionaires analysis. Findings - The result is firstly, the ability of creating wealth of businessmen from the merchant caste was still overwhelming. Secondly, the big businessmen' rising from non-merchant castes as a new business elite was extremely rare. Thirdly, according to the analysis of top 50 Indian start-ups, the percentage of Vaisya has significantly declined while the the percentage of upper castes like Brahmin has noticeably increased. Fourthly, no evidence was found that businessmen from the lower castes like OBC or Dalit were increasing the expanding business influence. Research implications - The Studies mean that in big-sized Indian companies, the power of traditional merchant caste remains the same as before and is even reinforcing, while in small start-ups, Vaisya's power is considerably decreasing, and the upper castes like Brahmin who are highly educated are noticeably increasing.

Determinants of the Utilization of Micro-enterprise Support Services (소액창업 지원서비스 이용에 영향을 미치는 요인 분석)

  • This study was designed to analyze, by using a hierarchical logistic regression analysis method, how difficulties in business start-ups and personal characteristics independently determine the utilization of micro-enterprise support services. The services were categorized into eight areas: capital, technical service, psychological service, item feasibility and business plan, site selection and interior service, marketing, finance and accounting, employment service. This study found that difficulties in business start-ups were a significant factor in six areas. Personal characteristics were a significant factor in four areas, when difficulties in start-ups were controlled. Among the personal characteristics, higher possibility of service utilization was anticipated in people with start-ups experience than people without experience, and in women than men. This results point out that service strategies should be targeted for people with difficulties in order to improve the accessibility of micro-enterprises support services. The results also indicate that the strategies should be considered for people with no start-ups experience, low academic ability, and female entrepreneurs who are vulnerable.

Positive Psychological Capital, Start-Up Intention, Start-Up Behavior Option Network Analysis (네일아트 자격증 학습자의 긍정심리자본, 창업의도, 창업행동 간의 연결망 분석)

  • This study studied the network between positive psychology capital, intention of start-up, and start-up behavior for learners who are willing to start a business. The research targets were intended to study the impact of the connection relationship between each variable, targeting nail art certification learners who are willing to start their own businesses. For this study, the measurement variables of positive psychology capital, intention of start-up, and start-up behavior were set, and the collected data were analyzed for connection-centeredness and eigenvector after data collection. The findings are as follows. First, some variables affecting the intention of start-up showed optimism, resilience and hope of positive psychology capital. Second, the intention to start a business was shown to have a significant impact on the behavior of start-ups, which, unlike the preceding study, appeared to be almost outside the network structure, showing that the behavior of start-ups was not significantly affected by other variables. Third, it is important to increase self-efficacy in positive psychological capital in order to increase the behavior of start-ups. Fourth, the analysis of the eigenvactor among positive psychology capital, intention of start-up, and start-up behavior showed optimism as some of the most central variables. In other words, prospective start-ups were found to be aware of the hardships and expected positive results in the future. The implications of this study, along with the intention and behavior of prospective entrepreneurs, are important factors in positive psychology capital, and suggest the importance of various educational programs that can be enhanced by positive psychology capital in start-up education or training programs and what should be taught. In addition, this study analyzed the network by approaching it from the perspective of positive psychology capital of prospective entrepreneurs in order to enhance the effectiveness of support programs for start-ups by the government, public institutions or universities in the future.

Determinants of Growth of Public Technology Based Start-up: Focused on Subsequent Support of Technology Subject (공공기술 기반 창업기업 성장 결정요인: 기술주체의 후속지원을 중심으로)

  • A plan to promote public technology-based start-ups as a way to enhance the use of public technology has been emphasized. However, the problem of creating commercial value has persisted due to the lack of reproducibility and readiness of public technology. Although gap exists in the linking process between the public and private sector, it is difficult to find objective empirical evidence as most of them are only qualitative research. Our empirical works examine the impact of subsequent support of the public research institute on the commercialization of public technologies. Then, we analyze how commercialization of public technologies affects the growth of technology-based startups using 2-stage least square (2SLS) model. We find that the linkage with the technology subject contribute to the successful commercialization of public technology, and further to the survival and growth of technology-based start-ups. Our finding suggests that knowledge management system, to facilitate interaction between technology developer and consumers, is needed for the success of public technology-based start-ups.

  • The financial value of early stage start-up has a tendency to depend more on the non-financial factors, but these are not efficiently reflected in the traditional valuation models. Therefore, most of valuation practices for early stage start-ups heavily relied on the guts of experts. To remedy this, this study suggests a model to directly reflect the non-financial factors especially for the real options approach. Actual process of valuation and the adjustment way were developed considering the characteristics of early stage start-ups in the game industry.

A Conceptual Study on the Types of Entrepreneurial Opportunity and Laboratory Start-ups (창업 기회의 유형과 실험실 창업에 대한 개념적 연구)

  • This study focuses on the proposition that the qualities and environmental conditions required for exploring entrepreneurial opportunities and realizing entrepreneurial opportunities depend on the types of entrepreneurial opportunities. In particular, this study aims to identify the type of entrepreneurial opportunities for laboratory start-ups, which have recently been gaining policy level attention. If the type of entrepreneurial opportunities for laboratory start-ups is identified as discriminative, appropriate start-up support policies and training programs can be established. For this study, eight major papers were identified among the papers of last 30 years related to the types of entrepreneurial opportunities. After, the classification attributes for each opportunity type were derived. Then, the existing theories of recognition, discovery and creative opportunities were organized, critically reviewed and reorganized. In addition, the substance of laboratory start-ups was verified according to the standardized classification attributes of the revised and reorganized opportunity types and newly classified as 'creative opportunity'. This study also presents networking capabilities and market orientation as examples of the capabilities needed for entrepreneurs of creative opportunity type. The implication of this study is that it makes it easy to discriminate ontological typology of entrepreneurial opportunity, derives important classification attributes, and that it organizes them conceptually. In addition, it critically reconstructs the problems of confusion in the existing typology, and based on this, the type of entrepreneurial opportunities for laboratory start-ups is determined as creative opportunity. These achievements can contribute to the improvement of start-up policies and start-up training programs according to the types of entrepreneurial opportunity and laboratory start-ups in the future, resulting in realization of actual results at the start-up sites.

Start-Up Visa: Rethinking Entrepreneurship and Human Capital in Immigration Policy

  • As industrialized countries transition into knowledge economies, there is a rising demand for talent and innovation. Support for start-ups through incubation, acceleration, and venture capital has turned into a key area of investment, with public and private actors searching for the next unicorn. This article examines start-up visas as an emerging policy tool in the global competition for highly innovative entrepreneurs. The study builds on a sample of eight national start-up immigration programs and applies human-capital citizenship (Ellermann, 2020) as a guiding framework. The article first proposes a conceptualization of start-up visas, suggesting that innovation and entrepreneurship also be considered in the theorization of skills. Second, the study examines the implications of start-up visas for international mobility. By focusing on the logic of entry requirements and subsequent benefits accrued through the status as a start-up founder, the findings of this study highlight the role of start-up visas in expanding privileged pathways to cross-border mobility. The article concludes with a discussion of implications for policy and research concerned with the international mobility of start-ups

  • This study analyzed the effects of start-up preparations for start-ups, start-up support for start-ups, and accelerator support on business satisfaction for start-ups. For this purpose, an empirical analysis was conducted on 308 founders. The main empirical study results are as follows. Start-up preparation, start-up support, and accelerator support have positive(+) significance in the start-up satisfaction of start-up companies. Among the variables that had a significant effect, the preparation of the start-up team was found to have the greatest influence. These results are considered to be consistent with the view that the importance of the private start-up support system is gradually increasing in the start-up ecosystem, and that the composition of the start-up team is the most important factor in start-up.

  • Job creations through doing star-ups is the biggest issues for almost nations. This study explores the entrepreneurial university's rule for making job creations based on Smart specialization and entrepreneurial university perspectives. In order to the aims, this study reviews the previous literatures and examines the some Israel universities, which is Technion University, Hebrew university as well as government support policies. Technion University and Hebrew university have own technology transfer institutions composed of experts for technology transfer and doing start-ups by using technologies. Each institutions have own characteristics regarding technology transfer and doing start-ups. T3, which is technology transfer institution of Technion University facilitates the start-up by step-by-step supporting mechanism. T3 has been operating EIR which has focused on business and marketing. Yissum, which is technology transfer institution of Hebrew university has board members. they have crucial roles to success the start ups. they can reconciliate the conflicts between university and Yissum. Also they can participate the business activities as mentors. Start-up money will be supported for even sprout state technology if their technologies are a promising business. Risk sharing between universities and start-ups influences on the increase of success ratio in Israel when comparing to that of Korea.
