Portable low-cost Kinect sensor was used to analyze standing balance ability of the elderly. Eighty subjects who can walk alone and have a normal cognitive level participated in this experiment. Based on Berg Balance scale (BBS) test with 52 points, subjects were divided into Healthy older (HO: 46 persons, BBS: $53.80{\pm}1.19$) and Impaired older (IO: 34 persons, BBS: $49.06{\pm}2.03$) group. Each subject performed 30 seconds four different standing balance tests (EO: Eyes Open, EC: Eyes Close, EOf: Eyes Open on foam, ECf: Eyes Close on foam). Five variables (Mean distance, Range of distance, Root mean square, Mean velocity, 95% ellipse area) were calculated from the hip joint center movement of Kinect sensor. Results showed that there were significant differences between groups for four different standing tests. Calculated variables from kinect sensor showed significant correlation with BBS score. Especially, mediolateral mean distance, mediolateral root mean square, mediolateral range of distance and 95% ellipse area showed discriminative ability for all tests. Mean values of variables of IO were higher than those of HO, which means the decreased balance ability in IO compared with HO. Therefore, it was possible to estimate simple balance assessment of the elderly using portable low-cost Kinect sensor.
The primary purpose of this study was to assess the relation of stress perception and poststroke. This study was done on 50 stroke patients in hospital. According to activities of functional impairment, they were classified into walking disturbance, motor weakness, dysphagia, or reattack etc. The stress perception test(GARS Scles) and stress response assessment shows the follwing results. 1. On the distribution in the stroke 50 patients, For the majority group were male in sex, sixty inage, middle towns people in residence. 2. On the comprehensive GARS scale scores, It marked the higest scores thirty at age, merchandise or salesman on jobs, a city in residence. There was no signigicant difference in mean GARS Scales scores between males and females group, the left hemiplegia and the Rt hemiplegia. 3. On the comprehensive GARS Scale tests, Overall glogal stressor(G8) and sickness stresor(G4) marked the highest scores of all GARS Scales. 4. On the comparative assessment of each group's stress reponse test scores, zung-bu(中腑) was showed higher scores than the other group in oriental diagnosis and hemorrage was showed higher scores than the other group in western medical diagnosis. 5. On the comprehensive assessment of each group's stress reponse test scores, aphsia(不語) marked the highest scores in another disphagia group's. It marked the highest scores in another group's that banshinbulsoo(半身不遂) as regards as hemiplegia generally. Standing disability is the higher scores than another group's walking alone or assist, and standing alone. 6. Secondary attack is the highest scores of all reattack stroke on the stress repones test. 7. Comparing and analyzing the GARS Scale total scores and GARS Scale subject fator at stroke, we found that sickness stressor and fininial stressor is showed the highest correlated to stress response fowlloing stroke. With those results, we can see that functional impairment following stroke is correlated to stress perception and reponse. In the furture studies using, we hope that the findings the study would have clinical relevance to the psychosocial adjustment and total rehabilation of stroke patients.

Purpose: Several techniques have been introduced for correction of pes cavo-varus deformity. We retrospectively reviewed and compared the data of patients who underwent 1st metatarsal osteotomy alone, Dwyer's osteotomy alone, and 1st metatarsal osteotomy combined with Dwyer's osteotomy to determine the effect on radiographic parameters. Materials and Methods: Data on 28 cases in 27 consecutive patients recruited from 2006 to 2014 who underwent 1st metatarsal osteotomy alone (group F), Dwyer's osteotomy alone (group H), or 1st metatarsal osteotomy followed by Dwyer's osteotomy (group HF) with a minimum 1-year follow-up were reviewed retrospectively. Results: Calcaneal pitch angle on the standing foot lateral radiographs was significantly decreased after the operation in groups H and HF whereas Meary angle was decreased in groups F and HF. Hindfoot alignment angle and ratio on the hindfoot alignment view were improved in groups H and HF. Maximal medial cuneiform height reduction was observed in group HF. 1st ray was significantly shortened in groups F and HF. Conclusion: Combined forefoot and hindfoot operation took the largest correction power of all radiologic parameters.
Purpose: Reduction mammaplasty is a procedure with a relatively high patient satisfaction rate, however, associated scarring around the areola can be a serious problem. This study proposes a new modification of the breast reduction procedure by means of an inframammary incision alone. Methods: The breast is marked out preoperatively with standing position. Under the general anesthesia, an inframammary incision of approximately 7 - 8 cm is done. The subcutaneous plane is made in the lower pole of the breast, then the subglandular plane is entered and a sharp dissection is made up to 2 cm below the areola. The breast is mobilized from the chest wall and a cone-shaped parenchyme is removed in en-block except from the retroareolar central part. The remaining both pillars are gathered together with absorbable sutures and the base of the gland is narrowed to project the breast forward. The wound is closed in a layered fashion and taping of the breast mound is applied to redistribute the breast skin. Results: 21 patients (36 breasts) underwent this procedure from December 2004 to December 2009. Average follow up was 9 months (ranged from 6 months to 12 months). No major complication occurred. Most patients were pleased with the breast size, shape, and scars. However, 2 patients complained their hypertrophic scars which were corrected by revision. Conclusion: This technique is a simple approach to mild to moderate breast reduction through an inframammary incision alone. And, this technique provides an option with minimal complications and invisible scarring, which is especially important in the young patient group.
Recently many new subway lines and light rail lines are demanded to build as CBTC system for advanced transportation needs. Already several lines are being installed and some other are planned this days. In early 2008, the first korean CBTC project, Bundang Line Intelligent Train Control System was finished successfully then it showed that many advantage of its functionalities to demonstrate. Nowaday, the technology of CBTC in Korea is not standing alone by itself yet, even though a lot of localization was done last decade include ATS (Automatic Train Supervision) and Radio Communication and manufactures and installations, because the core equipment of CBTC is rely on oversea technologies of major railway signal companies. KRRI has been preparing to develop the core equipment of CBTC (wayside ATP and onboard ATO/ATP) with other 14 local railway signal companies. Now they have consisted two consortiums to develop the core equipment by themselves. In this paper, I will mention about how we should focus on the output for viewpoint of interpretabilities between the two groups and review the case study of front developers efforts considering to standardizations we should be following.
The experiments were conducted to evaluate safening effect of fenclorim (CGA 123'407, 4,6-dichloro-2-phenyl pyrimidine) against injuries of pretilachlor, butachlor, and benthiocarb in direct-seeded rice under flooded conditions. Pretilachlor and butachlor and benthiocarb reduced crop standing and inhibited growth of rice plants. However, premixture application of pretilachlor, butachlor or benthiocarb with fenclorim at 10-30 g ai/10a greatly reduced rice injury caused by the application of each herbicide alone and thus increased crop standing plant height and dry weight of rice plants compared to herbicide treatments alone.

Objectives The purpose of this study is to investigate differences in brain activities when Neurodevelopmental treatment (NDT) is used alone compare to NDT is combined with intradermal acupuncture (IDA) treatment, using functional infrared spectroscopy (fNIRS) Methods Three children less than 7 year-old with cerebral palsy were participated. On their first visit, only NDT was used. After a week, they were treated with both NDT and IDA. During the treatment, fNIRS was used to measure any changes in their brain activities. Results In first patient with NDT, oxyhemoglobin level was increased during Standing exercise and Gait training compared to resting state. When the patient was treated with NDT and IDA, oxyhemoglobin level was decreased during Standing exercise and Gait training compared to resting state, and the result was significant (p<0.05). In second patient, oxyhemoglobin level was decreased in Gait training compared to resting state when NDT was used, but the level was increased when NDT and IDA were used in Gait training compared to resting state (p<0.05). In third patient, the difference in oxyhemoglobin levels between Gait training and resting state was significant (p<0.05). Conclusions Treatment involving both NDT and IDA has more potential to improve brain activities compared to that of NDT alone, and no adverse effect was reported. In order to confirm the finding, larger scale randomized controlled trials are needed.
Background: Plyometric exercise is an exercise exerting forceful power in a brief period using isotonic activation. It is effective to improve reaction of muscle, agility, endurance and athletics performance. Weight training is an exericse improving muscular strength, endurance and respirating ability applying diversely in frequency and load of exercise Plyometric exercise and Weight training is to facilitate the athletics performance though improving the function of lower limb muscle, there is a difference that Plyometic jump squats is the way to improve agility and Weight training is the way to improve muscular strength. Therefore, it is necessary to know how this difference effects on athletics performance as measuring ankle, ROM, and jumping ability. Design: Randomized controlled trial. Method: This study was conducted with the voluntary participation of 40 university students, who were randomly assigned to jump squat and calf raise groups (n=20 per group). For each subject, we measured the range of motion of the ankle joint before and after exercise, as well as a standing broad jump and vertical jump test performance. We compared the performance indices before and after exercises using paired t-tests, and between groups using independent-samples t-tests. Conclusions: Both jump squat and calf raise exercises improved ankle joint dorsiflexion and plantar flexion, as well as standing broad jump and vertical jump height performance. However, there were no significant differences before versus after exercise, or between exercise types. Although jump squats and calf raises have different purposes, it is thought that, in combination, these exercises improve performance more effectively than either alone, and that such a combined exercise program improves the quality of training in both the general public and athletes in various sports.
Purpose: This study was done to explore and understand acculturation focusing on reproductive health of immigrant women. Methods: For the research sixteen immigrant women were selected by snowball sampling. Qualitative data were accumulated by in-depth interviews and private document collection. Raw data was analyzed following Mandelbaum's conceptual framework. Results: The dimensions of immigrant women consisted of existence: emerging from the new environment in which it was hard to communicate and to get acquainted with others, reproduction: in the absence of learning and experience, reproductive health crisis, parenting: unmanageable burden. Turnings of life involved 'Inconvenience in one's eyes, vent for conflict and tension: pregnancy', 'strange medical care: accoucheur, rapid medical service', 'pain of morning sickness: poor maternal nutrition', 'manifestation of protective instinct for life'. In adaptations, content was as follows. 1) Standing alone as a Korean housewife, 2) Becoming aware of Korean maternal instinct: thirst for education supporting, 3) Rediscovery of family: growing maternal sense of existence. Conclusion: The results of this study show the acculturation process and the meaning of events related to reproductive health in current lives and can contribute to an integrated understanding of married immigrant women in Korean culture.
Purpose: The purpose of this study is to provide the basic data to develop the effective nursing intervention for the parent who have children with cancer by acquiring the deeper understanding of the mothers' adjustment of caring for their children with cancer. Methods: The ethnographic research method was used to find out the pattern of caring adjustment in Korean cultural context. Informants consisted of 12 mothers who were caring for their children with cancer. The data were collected using in-depth interviews, participant observation, and telephone interviews by maximum variation purposive sampling. The data were analyzed following Spradley's methodology. Results: The mothers' caring adjustment were organized into one cultural theme, four categories, and twelve properties. The cultural theme was 'standing alone as a mother with sin'. The four categories were 'blaming for falling illness', 'overcoming with motherhood', 'desperate struggling with side effects', and 'establishing new network as a dependent'. Conclusion: For the mothers who are caring children with cancer, the supportive nursing intervention based on the deeper understanding of mothers' pattern of caring adjustment for their children and centered on facilitating effective adjustment in each cultural context especially from the very early stage of caring in the hospital ward is extremely required.
