  • With rapid rise of virtualization technology from diverse types of cloud computing service, security problems such as data safety and reliability are the issues at stake. Since damage in virtualization layer of cloud service can cause damage on all host (user) tasks, Hypervisor that provides an environment for multiple virtual operating systems can be a target of attackers. This paper propose a security structure for protecting Hypervisor from hacking and malware infection.

  • Game Designs & Developers that system designs improve, the product and the change of tasks to all developers are essential in achieving On-Line Game project. Existent On-line Game project management designs supper the definition and the change of project activities, and configuration management designs support version check, workspace management, build management, etc. In this paper, the proposed Design defines Game component based development process model, and achieves recording of process progression, processing the request of change, reporting the progression of each task, product registering and change, version recording, artifact or form search, etc. using UML. Furthermore, study on the stake holders get the systematic management and standardization by sharing information that are necessary in Game design & development and configuration management in distributed environment using the system integrated management design.

  • This paper discusses current internet interconnection issues according to radical changes of internet traffic pattern. In this context, the recovery of network investment cost for network provider becomes hot issue. For recovery issues of investment cost, there are many disputes among stake holders. Therefore, it is necessary to investigate this issues in the context of internet interconnection. Also, it is important to develop the current regulation about internet interconnection under traffic changing environments. This paper selects four issues to deal with and analyzes the present situations and problems about these issues, and provides alternatives for internet interconnection corresponding to these four issues.

  • This study considers inter-jurisdictional fiscal externalities between a central city and suburbs, rigorously examines. and empirically tests the suburban-exploitation-of-central-cities hypothesis. Using micro-migra4ion data, house-holds 'intra-metropolitan migration between 1985 and 1990 Is examined based on a random utility model. It is found that efficient population distribution between a central city and suburbs can be achieved when local government stake into account inter-jurisdictional externalities. External aids from the federal and state governments should be given to public services such as education, welfare, health, and employee retirement services, if they intend to arrest central city decline. Regional tax sharifs can be another way of dealing with these externalities.

  • Purpose - The purpose of this research is to develop two medical tourism system models which explain medical tourism phenomenon with a systemic approach. Design/methodology - This research was conducted by using a qualitative data analysis which mainly refers to previous references of medical tourism in the areas of tourism and medicine. Leiper's tourism system model was utilized as a conceptual framework. In-depth interviews with experts in the field were conducted in order to pretest the models. Findings - This research suggests a medical tourism system framework and a medical service provision framework. The first model presents medical tourism components and their relationships within a framework presented in a diagram. The second model shows the relationships among medical services required by medical tourists, the service providers, and service human resources along with movements of medical tourists. Originality/value - The first model presents a spatial composition of medical tourism components and their relationships, whereas the second model shows the linkage among medical services, the service providers, and relevant service human resources along with time sequential steps of medical tourists. These two models are complementary and may be used as useful tools to observe medical tourism phenomenon with a systemic and holistic approach. These two models may enable stake holders avoid unnecessary confusions and conflicts that result in duplication of government policies and a waste of budget and human resources.

  • The evolution of blockchain-based systems has enabled researchers to develop nextgeneration e-voting systems. However, the classical consensus method of blockchain, that is, Proof-of-Work, as implemented in Bitcoin, has a significant impact on energy consumption and compromises the scalability, efficiency, and latency of the system. In this paper, we propose a hybrid consensus model (PSC-Bchain) composed of Proof of Credibility and Proof of Stake that work mutually to address the aforementioned problems to secure e-voting systems. Smart contracts are used to provide a trustworthy public bulletin board and a secure computing environment to ensure the accuracy of the ballot outcome. We combine a sharding mechanism with the PSC-Bchain hybrid approach to emphasize security, thus enhancing the scalability and performance of the blockchain-based e-voting system. Furthermore, we compare and discuss the execution of attacks on the classical blockchain and our proposed hybrid blockchain, and analyze the security. Our experiments yielded new observations on the overall security, performance, and scalability of blockchain-based e-voting systems.

  • Connected car plays an important role on Intelligent Transport System (ITS). ITS is able to secure drivers' convenience and safety, however, the overall system can be threatened by hacking attempt. Blockchain is one strong candidate of the remedy to promote the security of the ITS network. However, there will be many challenges to adopt previously proposed blockchain technologies to ITS. This work presents a new ITS structure based on blockchain technology. Proposed scheme includes three major layers. The first layer is central manager which is initiated once to register a certain connected car. The third layer is RSU (Road Side Unit) layer which exploits PoS (Proof of Stake) for consortium blockchains and retains real-time information. In addition, this layer performs block expiration based on timers to maintain manageable block length. In the second layer, the generated blocks of the third layer without expiration are housed as private blockchains. We finally demonstrate possible merits of newly proposed scheme.

  • A country's participation in international technical standards development directly relates to its trade competitiveness. Many countries adopt international standards or influence their development process through the ISO/IEC. This study applies the ABCD Model to assess such activities through a constructed ITS index, not only in terms of 'level' of contribution but also in terms of 'process' participation that can give important implications related to the future potential influence of countries in standards development. Having examined seven countries, Korea showed the lowest score implying the need to enhance its performance in both 'international standards adoption' and 'internationalization of domestic standards'. Korea needs to more actively participate in currently on-going standards development processes, establish more offices that improve accuracy in the development, and consider participating in additional committees where domestic interests may potentially be at stake. Although KATS has improved greatly in regards to its relevant activities and database construction, a more active and specific plan must be made to allow its efforts to successfully influence Korea in international standards development. Confronted with strong challenges from directly competing countries in trade like China and Japan that showed better ITS scores, there is a need for Korea to step up its research and participation in this field.

  • South Korea, a rapidly ageing country, faces increasing dementia rate as the incidence of dementia increases with ageing. Service design is an effective method to develop dementia service by visualizing and specifying intangible forms of service. The Design Council in the U.K. carried out dementia solution projects such as 'living with dementia' in 2011 and 'transform aging' in 2016, introducing successful services and innovative products. Seeking useful implications, this paper explores the concept and method of service design focusing on the U.K. cases. To suggest solutions on dementia, effective strategies should be set up on the basis of service design, which embodies various stake holders' cooperation and partnership.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study is to investigate whether the Management Discussion and Analysis (MD&A) has an impact on auditors' audit efforts. MD&A is a means of disclosure that provides information about a company from the management's perspective in financial reporting. The MD&A is a standardized format of nonfinancial information that can be useful for the stake-holders. The auditors have incentives to utilize the nonfinancial information contained in the MD&A for their decision-making. We posit that the MD&A disclosure quality is associated with the level of audit efforts. Methods: We hand-collect the disclosure data from the Financial Supervisory Service of Korea (the Korean SEC). Results: By employing two measures of audit efforts, we document evidence that the quality of MD&A is associated with both audit hours and audit fees. Conclusion: It implies that the auditors perform intensive audit work for companies with high-quality disclosure of MD&A. The study contributes to the literature by providing the first approach to examine the association between the MD&A disclosure and audit efforts.
