Conductive polyaniline (PANI) nanofibers in UV-curable resin were used for a transparent conductive film. The emeraldine-salt PANI (ES-PANI) nanofibers were prepared by chemical oxidation polymerization of aniline, which could be changed into emeraldine-base PANI by dedoping. EB-PANI nanofibers as a precursor for conductive fillers were thereby transformed into re-dpoed PANI (rES-PANI) by dodecylbenzenesulfonic acid in the UV-curable resin solution. rES-PANI nanofibers have high conductivity and long-term stability in the solution without a defect of nanostructure. The resulting conductive resin solution was proved to be highly stable where no precipitation of rES-PANI fillers was observed over a period of 3 months. The transparent film was spin-casted on a poly(methyl methacrylate) sheet of thickness ca. $5{\mu}m$. A surface resistance of $6.5{\times}10^8{\Omega}/sq$ and transmittance at 550 nm of 91.1% were obtained for the film prepared with a concentration of 1.4 wt% rES-PANI nanofibers in the solution. This transformation process of rES-PANI from ES-PANI by dedoping-redoping can be an alternative method for the preparation of an antistatic protection film with controllable surface resistance and optical transparencies with the PANI concentration in UV-curable solution.
As the concern with the creation of environmental problems and regulations about them becomes internationally growing, environmental cooperations with countries concerned are emerging as the first item on the political agenda. In case of South Korea, cooperations with countries in the Asian region is needed urgently. In particular, cooperations with North Korea will be an important factor to reunify the Korean peninsula as well as to solve environmental problems in South Korea. Accordingly, it is necessary to seek feasible alternatives and possibilities of coping with international environment in South and North Korea. This study is limited to literature study based on collecting materials and the testimony of former residents in North Korea. The period of study ranges from May to December in 1992. The research findings show the following environmental problems and alternatives : It is recognized in South Korea that the creation of environmental problems is product of economic development. Currently, the Korean government makes an effort to revise environmental administration and law, to encourage environmental education, and to proceed with environmental technology policies by establishing environmental policies together with economic development plans. North Korea ascribes the cause of environmental problems to colonial exploitation by Japan and the U.S. Environmental pollutants in North Korea is relatively less than South Korea, provisions such as environmental conservation movement, environmental education, and environmental administration and law are not well organized in the country. However, North korea will speed up its economic development to solve economic crises. Therefore, it is expected that industrial wastes, corrosion of nature, and water pollution will result in serious environmental problems. The fields expected to cooperate with South and North Korea are in the following : South Korea may adopt the model of the former East and West Germany and proceed to cooperate with North Korea in public sector as well as private sector. The possible programs are such as academic exchange to conserve environment, joint research in the area of the Demilitarized Zone, conservation of ecosystems around Imjin and Pukhan Rivers, South Korea's support of advanced environmental technology and industrial and financial aid to North Korea. Conflicts between countries concerned in the North East Asian region will be caused by the responsibilities of pollutions because of the seashore development of the Yellow Sea by South Korea and increasing seashore industrial complexes around the Yellow Sea in China, Therefore, it is desirable that the two countries will participate in organizations related to environment. Joint projects between South and North Korea will be as follows : 1. Construction of long-range monitoring system : 2. Investigation of the state of pollutions around the Yellow Sea and alternatives : 3. Construction of joint monitoring system to regulate the movement of pollutants : 4. Cooperation of environmental technology and exchange of information ; and 5. Support of Cooperation of environment in private sector. Efforts to cooperate with North korea is expected to overcome differences between the two countries as well as to encourage unification of the korean peninsula, which will lead to reducing the cost of environmental recovery. These efforts will also contribute to the maintenance for peace and stability on the korean peninsula as well as in the North East Asian region.
Antioxidative effects of crude ethanol extract of the Rhus javanica L. and its fractionates with various synergists on the oxidation of palm oil, lard and soybean oil were compared with induction period(IP) using a Rancimat test. Addition of 200 ppm of the crude extract with phosphoric acid to palm oil extended IP 2.89 times as much as that of control and ethyl acetate fractionate extended IP 4.18 times at the same condition. To lard, 600 ppm of chloroform fraction with 200 ppm of ${\delta}-Tocopherol$ extended IP 13.42 times as much as that of control. 200 ppm of each fraction with various synergists were added to palm oil and lard, and oxidative stability of the oils were monitored by measuring POV, AV, and TBA value. The POV of palm oil containing 200 ppm of ethyl acetate and chloroform fraction with 200 ppm of phosphoric acid after 27 days storage at $60^{\circ}C$ were 8.9 meq/kg and 9.4 meq/kg respectively while the POV of control was 98.3 meq/kg at the same condition. AV and TBA value were also lower than that of control. The POV value of lard containing same amount of ethyl acetate and chloroform fraction with ${\delta}-Tocopherol$ after 12 day storage at $60^{\circ}C$ were 20.0meq/kg and 10.7 meq/kg respectively while the POV of control was 161.1 meq/kg at the same condition. AV and TBA value were also lower than that of control.
For the purpose of improving the precooked frozen food, the processing conditions of sardine steaks and the effect of soybean protein and corn starch on quality of the products during frozen storage were investigated. Fresh sardines were purchased from Busan Central Whole Sale Market and filleted. And then sardine meats were separated from fillets by fish meat separator. The meats were mixed with 0.5% sodium bicarbonate, 1.5% of table salt and 0.2% of polyphosphate, monosodium glutamate, white pepper, garlic powder and nutmeg, respectively. The mixture was minced with the stone grinder and filled in polyvinylidene chloride film tube and then stored at $-3^{\circ}C$ for 36 hours prior to frozen storage. Sardine steaks containing 3% of soybean protein were superior to those of containing 3% of corn starch or without soybean protein and corn starch on texture and eating quality of them during the period of frozen storage. It is convinced that addition of 3% of soybean protein to the sardine steak was benefically effective for the control of free drip, oxidative rancidity and the improvement of texture. The quality of frozen sardine steaks, by sensory evaluation, were preserved in good eating quality for 90 days during frozen storage.
Empirical seismic displacement equations based on the Newmark sliding block method are widely used to develop seismic landslide hazard map. Most proposed equations have been developed for embankments and landfills, and do not consider the dynamic response of sliding block. Therefore, they cannot be applied to Korean mountain slopes composed of thin, uniform soil-layer underlain by an inclined bedrock parallel to the slope. In this paper, a series of two-dimensional dynamic nonlinear finite difference analyses were performed to estimate the permanent seismic slope displacement. The seismic displacement of mountain slopes was calculated using the Newmark method and the equivalent acceleration time history. The calculated seismic displacements of the mountain slopes were compared to a widely used empirical displacement model. We show that the displacement prediction is significantly enhanced if the slope is modeled as a flexible sliding mass and the amplification characteristics are accounted for. Regression equation, which uses PGA, PGV, Arias intensity of the ground motion and the fundamental period of soil layer, is shown to provide a reliable estimate of the sliding displacement. Furthermore, the empirical equation is shown to reliably predict the hazard category.

Floor mortar experiences dry shrinkage by temperature and humidity difference of internal matrix with material type. Also, since floor mortar is influenced by environmental conditions during placing and curing period, cracks are likely to be occurred. In this study, it was evaluated the hardening and dry shrinkage properties of non-sintered binder based floor mortar utilizing alpha-hemihydrate gypsum which has expansibility in order to prevent crack of the floor mortar. It was applied to the construction site, and examined the effects of external environmental conditions on shrinkage deformation and cracking. Different types of slag accelerated initial and final setting in comparison with cement mortar and its compressive strength was satisfied standard compressive strength for floor mortar. Also shrinkage deformation behavior after the initial expansion exhibited a similar tendency with the cement mortar. From the field application result, no crack was found from slag mortar, and it is determined that the slag mortar has better dimensional stability than cement mortar caused by external environment conditions.
In most of studies on market efficiency, the stability of risk measures and the normality of residuals unexplained by the pricing model are presumed. This paper re-examines stock splits, taking the possible violation of two assumptions into accounts. The results does not change the previous studies. But, the size of excess returns during the 2-week period before announcements decreases by 43%. The results also support that betas change around announcements and the serial autocorrelation of residuals is caused by events. Based on the results, the existing excess returns are most likely explained as a compensation to old shareholders for unwanted risk increases in their portfolio, or by uses of incorrect betas in testing models. In addition, the model suggested in the paper provides a measure for the speed of adjustment of the market to the new information arrival and the intensity of information contents.

This paper investigates how industrial diversity affects unemployment and employment instability from the perspective of the regional economy. Through this analysis, we examine how the industry-specific policy to promote some industry strategically in most of areas affects the stability of the regional economy. We measure Herfindahl indexes using the 1993-2010 data of 16 regions in Korea, and use panel regression model for empirical analysis. The main results from this empirical analysis are summarized as follows. First, we confirm that the industrial structure of most regions has been changed to the direction of specialization in 1990s and to the direction of diversification in 2000s through analyzing the changes in the values of Herfindahl indexes during the given period. Second, we find from the estimation results of panel regression model that the higher industrial diversity in most of regions is, the lower the unemployment rate is. However, a statistically significant relationship between industrial diversity and employment instability only partially confirmed. Third, there exist high unemployment rate and employment instability in most metropolitan areas, but it is hard to say that this relationship is highly statistically significant. From the results of the empirical analysis, it is likely that the industry-specific policies such as the regional strategic industry development policies unlike policy goals make the unemployment rate to rise and economic instability to increase. From the viewpoint of employment aspects, the strategies to increase industrial diversity would be desirable rather than those to specialize in the industrial structure.
The present study was conducted to analyze the causes of stress on the part of Korean radiological technologists depending on their working environments. For this purpose, 890 questionnaires were distributed to and collected from radiological technologists who were working at 44 general hospitals in 16 cities and provinces of Korea during the period from the mid July to the end of August 2003. The collected data were compared between regions, divided into the capital, metropolitan, medium and small cities, whose results are as follows: 1. As factors affecting working conditions, drinking was found to exert more influence on radiological technologists in small- and medium-sized cities, while loyalty to immediate seniors and organizations was the one producing greater influence on them in metropolitan cities than other cities. Overall, position, job satisfaction and physical condition seemed to have a great effect on them (p<0.001).2. In terms of factors related to their roles, job satisfaction and physical condition played in general a greater role for radiological technologists (p<0.001). Immediate seniors and behavioral conducts were also found to have a lot influence on them (p<0.01).3. As for job conflicts, the kind of medical institutions seemed to exercise a great deal of impact on radiological technologists (p<0.05), while colleagues, immediate seniors, job satisfaction and physical conditions also produced a lot of influence on them as a whole (p<0.001).4. Regarding job autonomy, radiological technologists were found to have been less influenced by position in metropolitan cities and by immediate seniors in the capital city (p<0.01). As a whole, however, age and job satisfaction acted as decisive factors of influence on them (p<0.001). 5. Among factors related to job burden, gender played a bigger role for radiological technologists in metropolitan cities as the kind of medical institutions did in small- and medium-sized cities. Centrally, job satisfaction and behavioral conducts exercised a great impact on them (p<0.001).6. Job stability seemed to be more immensely linked to gender and physical conditions in metropolitan cities whereas position did more in the capital city. In general, how ever, job satisfaction produced a far-reaching (p<0.001).
