In relations to cold acclimation, experiment was carried out to understand the seasonal changes in reserve substances of the mulberry. The shoot barks and leaves of three mulberry varieties(Kaeryangppong, Shinilppong and Yongcheonppong) were sampled, after that their reserve substances were analyzed. The cold hardiness of mulberry was investigated by DTA(Differential Thermal Analysis) method. To increase cold hardiness, gibberellin(100 ppm), kinetin(100 ppm) and Jambi 8 were sprayed on the mulberry leaves. After spraying, falling of the leaves of Yongcheonppong occured earier than the other varities. After the first frost, all of treatments except gibberellin were entirely fallen. Growth regulator extended the leaves fallen. After spraying, water of the shoot barks was not showed difference in the content among the treatments, but amino acid, carbohydrate and soluble protein increased from September to October. Starch content of the shoot barks and leaves was maximum in October, but thereafter decreased during wintering stage. In Shinilppong, Jambi 8 spray increased cold hardiness by 1-2$^{\circ}C$ more than no spray. It was concluded that the cold hardiness of the mulberry in midwinter is closely related to the reserve substances with spraying Jambi 8 on the mulberry leaves.
In this paper, It is tested by spraying the spoiled liquids on the materials to prove the process of tracking under the various environments. Our experiments ware examined by setting the materials in the spray chamber, and by spraying the distilled water(DW), the city water(CW), the underground water(UW), the artificial acid rain(AR) and the salt water(SW) in applied voltage 3-6[KV]. As the result, the time of tracking breakdown became shorter in the order of DW < CW < UW < AR < SW. XLPE was eroded and its anti-bracking property was very strong, but that of PVC sheath was week. Especially it was confirmed that spraying by AR and SW on the PVC sheath had a serious effect on the lifetime of cable by the tracking breakdown.
The plasma sprayed Cr$_{2}$C$_{2}$-NiCr coatings are widely used as wear-resistant and corrosion-resistant materials. The mechanical properties of the plasma sprayed Cr$_{2}$C$_{2}$-NiCr coatings were examined in this study. The distribution of the residual stress with the coating thickness was also examined by X-ray diffraction method. The pore in the coatings could be classified into two types ; one is the intrinsic pore originated from the spraying powder, the other is the extrinsic pore formed during spraying. During the tensile adhesion test, the fracture occurred at the interface of top coat and substrate or top coat and bond coat depending on the existence of bond coat. It was found that the compressive residual stress near the interface decreased with the increase of the top coat thickness. The tensile adhesion strength of the coating without bond coat was higher than that with bond coat, because the coating with bond coat has higher horizontal crack density near the interface between bond coat and top coat.
The characteristics of the high-performance ceramic coatings fabricated on the optimum processings con-ditions for the atmospheric plasma spraying are evaluated by various material tests and analyses. The opti-mum processing parameters for the plasma spraying are determined by using the two-level orthogonal arrays of fractional factorial testing method as a statistical approach. Material tests for the coating specimens are carried out to evaluate microstructure, hardness, adhesion strength, and deposition efficiency. The properties of Al2O3-13%TiO2 coating are discussed with regard to the effective processings parameters. The decarburization effects of WC-12%Co coating is examined by XRD analysis in terms of the arc power and the secondary gas species. The hardness of Al2O2-13%TiO2 coating is increased with the arc power and shows the maximum value at around 40 lpm of Ar gas flowrate, which appears to be the most critical parame-ter on the deposition efficiency. For reducing the decarburization of WC-12%Co coating, the injection of inert He gas instead of reactive H2 gas as a secondary gas is more effective than the dropping of arc power to lessen the plasma enthalpy.
Carbon-based coatings, including carbon nanotubes (CNTs), graphene, and buckyball ($C_{60}$), receive much interest because of their outstanding mechanical and electrical properties for a wide range of electromechanical component-based applications. Previous experimental results demonstrate that these carbon-based coatings are promising solid lubricants because of their superior tribological properties, and thus help prolong the lifetime of silicon-based applications. In this study, CNT coatings are deposited on a bare silicon (100) substrate by electrodynamic spraying under different deposition conditions. During the coating deposition, the applied voltage, CNT concentration of the solution, distance between the injecting nozzle and the substrate and diameter of the injecting nozzle are optimized to control the thickness and surface roughness of the CNT coatings. The surface morphology and thickness of the coatings are characterized by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and atomic force microscopy (AFM), respectively. The friction and wear properties of the coatings are investigated by using a pin-on-reciprocating-type tribotester under various experimental conditions. The friction coefficient of the CNT coating is as low as 0.15 under high normal loads. The overall results reveal that CNT coatings deposited by electrodynamic spraying provide relatively uniform with superior lubrication performance.
This study was conducted to develop a rail-type boom sprayer, performing safe spraying with improved ergonomic postures during pesticide spraying of agro-photovoltaic power system. The sprayer was designed to reduce labor cost and to be safe from pesticide exposure, and was analyzed through a comparison with a conventional spray method. The rail-type boom sprayer, consisted of a self-propelled spray and hose winder, hose, and boom sprayer parts, was designed to automatically pull and spray in the vertical and horizontal directions. The performance of the sprayer for an agro-photovoltaic power system was appropriate. From the analysis of postures with the Ovako Working posture Analysis System (OWAS), Rapid Entire Body Assessment (REBA), and Rapid Upper Limb Assessment (RULA) methods, the musculoskeletal risk factors to the body using the rail-type boom sprayer were less than those with the conventional power sprayer. In addition, the possibility of pesticide poisoning was reduced compared to the conventional power sprayer. The working capacity with the rail-type boom sprayer was more than five times greater, compared with the conventional power sprayer. After performing pesticide spraying with the rail-type boom sprayer, the labor cost was reduced to 42,750 won·yr-1, which was 90% (402,750 won·yr-1) less than the cost with the use of a conventional power sprayer (445,500 won·yr-1).
The cooling of precooked skipjack Katsuwonus pelamis is a critical thermal process in tuna canning because it affects the quality and yield of the canned tuna, as well as productivity. The combined method of vacuum cooling followed by water spraying (VC-WS) was investigated to increase cooling rates, and prevent loss of yield of the precooked tuna during vacuum cooling. For VC-WS, the precooked skipjack was cooled to $30^{\circ}C$ by vacuum at 31 mmHg and then wetted by spraying water for 2 min. The effects of VC-WS on cooling times, cooling loss, color, texture and lipid oxidation of the precooked tuna were compared with conventional spray cooling (SC).The cooling times for precooked skipjack from $75^{\circ}C-30^{\circ}C$ were 11 min for VC-WS and 145 min for SC. The cooling losses were 1.7 % for VC-WS and 1.6 % for SC. Peroxide and thiobarbituric acid (TBA) values of VC-WS were lower than those of SC. The loin of the VC-WS-treated skipjack was brighter and harder than the SC loin, as indicated by higher lightness and hardness values. Based on these results, we believe that the VC-WS process could compensate for the cooling loss of vacuum cooling and minimize changes in quality that occur during cooling of precooked skipjack tuna.

Controlled-release amitriptyline pellets (ATP) were formulated and its oral bioavailability was assessed in human volunteers after oral administration under fasting conditions. Core pellets were prepared using a CF granulator by two different methods (powder layering and solvent spraying) and coated with Eudragit RS or RL 100. Physical characteristics and dissolution rates of core pellets and coated pellets were evaluated to optimize the formulation. Powder layering method resulted in a better surface morphology than solvent spraying method. However, physical properties of the products were poorer when prepared by powder layering method with respect to hardness, friability and density. The dissolution profile of amitriptyline coated with Eudragit RS 100 was comparable to that of commercially available amitriptyline enteric-coated pellets ($Saroten^{\circledR}$ retard). After the oral administration of both products at the dose of 50 mg, the mean maximum concentrations ($C_{max}$) were 36.4 and 29.7 ng/mL, and the mean areas under the concentration-time curve ($AUC_{0-96}$) were 1180.2 and 1010.7 ng.h/mL for ATP and Saroten retard, respectively. The time to reach the maximum concentrations ($T_{max}$) was 6 h for both formulations. Statistical evaluation suggested that ATP was bioequivalent to Saroten retard.
