Cavitation refers to a phenomenon in which empty spaces occur in a fluid due to changes in pressure and a velocity. When a liquid moves at a high speed, the pressure drops below the vapor pressure, and vapor bubbles are generated in the liquid. This study used CFD to analyze the flow of fluid machinery used in marine and offshore plants. The goals are to ensure the validity of the analysis method for marine propellers in an open water test, to increase the forward ratio, and to use FLUENT to understand the flow pattern due to cavitation. A three-dimensional analysis was performed and compared with experimental data from MOERI. The efficiency was highest at advance ratios of 0.7 - 0.8. Thrust was generated due to the difference between the pressure surface and the suction surface, and it was estimated that bubbles would be generated in the vicinity of the back side surface rather than the face side of the propeller, resulting in more cavitation. The cavitation decreased sharply as the advance ratio increased. The thrust and torque coefficients were comparable to those of the MOERI experimental data except at the advance ratio of 1, which showed a difference of less than 5%. Therefore, it was confirmed that CFD can evaluate an open water propeller test.
Purpose: Greenhouse gases are one of the major causes of global warming, a global disaster. It aims to improve how effective the GHG reduction policy, which is the main cause of global warming in the transportation sector, has been effective on the highway and how to calculate GHG emissions. Method: Using the DSRC raw data, we estimate the emissions of Namhae Expressway (Yeongam-Suncheon) from 2017 to 2019 in two ways, a macro method (conventional) and a micro method (individual vehicle). Result: As a result of calculating the emission of the highway, the result was far exceeding the estimated emission, and it was found that when the calculation was performed for each vehicle, it was underestimated by more than 20%. Conclusion: If more emissions are continuously emitted than expected in the current transportation sector, additional emission reduction policies are needed to achieve the current greenhouse gas reduction targets. In addition, in the calculation of emissions, which is the basis of this policy, analysis was conducted for each individual vehicle using the current DSRC raw data, but using GPS afterwards will enable precise emission calculation through a more microscopic analysis.
The purpose of this study is to classify online shopping malls into total transaction amount and transaction amount by product, and compare them to find synchronism. The data used in this study were collected from KOSIS for Food Services, Home Appliances·Electronics·Communication devices, Food & Beverages, House_Goods, Clothing, Computers & Peripheral Devices. The analysis period is a total of 44 monthly data from January 2017 to August 2020. In descriptive statistics, variability is relatively very stable in the case of food service, but is large in the case of clothing. In the correlation analysis, the total transaction amount shows a certain level of correlation with each product. In the analysis of the increase rate, Food Service increased by 1,039%, Home Appliances·Electronics·Communication devices increased by 325%, Food & Beverages increased by 296% and House Goods by 250%, but Clothing decreased slightly to 92.56%. In the Scatter Charts analysis, the distribution of Total transaction amount & House Goods, Total transaction amount & Home Appliances·Electronics·Communication devices is generally upward, showing a high level of synchronization. Due to Corona 19, we will have to continue our efforts to provide speed, stability, convenience and various services in preparation for the increase in transaction volume of online shopping malls.

In the island areas where system connection with the commercial power grid is difficult, it is quite important to find a method to efficiently manage energy produced with independent microgrids. In this paper, a prosumer management system for P2P power transaction was realized through the testing the power meter and the response rate of the collected data for the power produced in the small-scale microgrids in which hybrid models of solar power and wind power were implemented. The power network of the microgrid prosumer was composed of mesh structure and the P2P power transaction was tested through the power meter and DC power transmitter in the off-grid sites which were independently constructed in three places. The measurement values of the power meter showed significant results of voltage (average): 380V + 0.9V, current (average): + 0.01A, power: 1000W (-1W) with an error range within ±1%. Stabilization of the server was also confirmed with the response rate of 0.32 sec. for the main screen, 2.61 sec. for the cumulative power generation, and 0.11 sec for the power transaction through the transmission of 50 data in real time. Therefore, the proposed system was validated as a P2P power transaction system that can be used as an independent network without transmitted by Korea Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO).

This study aims to develop a multi-camera based MMS (Mobile Mapping System) technology for building a HD (High Definition) map for autonomous driving and for quick update. To replace expensive lidar sensors and reduce long processing times, we intend to develop a low-cost and efficient MMS by applying multiple cameras and real-time data pre-processing. To this end, multi-camera storage technology development, multi-camera time synchronization technology development, and MMS prototype development were performed. We developed a storage module for real-time JPG compression of high-speed images acquired from multiple cameras, and developed an event signal and GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite System) time server-based synchronization method to record the exposure time multiple images taken in real time. And based on the requirements of each sector, MMS was designed and prototypes were produced. Finally, to verify the performance of the manufactured multi-camera-based MMS, data were acquired from an actual 1,000 km road and quantitative evaluation was performed. As a result of the evaluation, the time synchronization performance was less than 1/1000 second, and the position accuracy of the point cloud obtained through SFM (Structure from Motion) image processing was around 5 cm. Through the evaluation results, it was found that the multi-camera based MMS technology developed in this study showed the performance that satisfies the criteria for building a HD map.

Korea's construction industry has a shortage and aging of construction manpower, low productivity compared to other industries, and a high rate of industrial accidents. The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport is preparing for the 4th industrial revolution and is expanding investment in construction automation and innovative growth engines to improve productivity in the construction industry. In order for new technologies to be utilized in the road construction field, the accuracy of the technologies and the applicability of each type of work must be evaluated. In this study, the accuracy of the mobile mapping system was tried to verify based on the relevant work regulations, and to suggest the applicability of the mobile mapping system to high-speed driving tracks through data acquisition and analysis on road construction sites. The accuracy of the equipment used in the study was verified in accordance with the relevant work regulations, and the possibility of applying the mobile mapping system used for the study to road construction surveying was presented with a maximum error of less than 10cm in the horizontal and vertical directions. In addition, the possibility of utilizing the road construction survey using the mobile mapping system was presented through comparison with the existing method for data acquisition time for construction surveying, production of construction status survey results, and calculation of heatmap and earthworks. In the future, the use of construction status surveying of the mobile mapping system will greatly improve the efficiency of construction work.
This study investigated the effects of the urban forest and street trees on flow and temperature distribution in the Daegu National Debt Redemption Movement Memorial Park. For this, we implemented tree-drag and tree-cooling parameterization schemes in a computational fluid dynamics (CFD) model and validated the simulated wind speeds, wind directions, and air temperatures against the measured ones. We used the wind speeds, wind directions, air temperatures predicted by the local data assimilation and prediction system (LDAPS) as the inflow boundary conditions. To investigate the flow and thermal characteristics in the presence of trees in the target area, we conducted numerical experiments in the absence and presence of trees. In the absence of trees, strong winds and monotonous flows were formed inside the park, because there were no obstacles inducing friction. The temperature was inversely proportional to the wind speed. In the presence of trees, the wind speeds(temperatures) were reduced by more than 40 (5)% inside the park with a high planting density due to the tree drag (cooling) effect, and those also affected the wind speeds and temperatures outside the park. Even near the roadside, the wind speeds and temperatures were generally reduced by the trees, but the wind speeds and air temperatures increased partly due to the change in the flow pattern caused by tree drag.

An integrated underground spatial map consists of underground facilities, underground structures, and ground information, and is periodically updated. In this paper, we design and implement a system for detecting and extracting only changed ground objects to shorten the map update speed. To find the changed objects, all the objects are compared, which are included in the newly input map and the reference map in the integrated map. Since the entire process of comparing objects and generating results is classified by function, the implemented system is composed of several modules such as object comparer, changed object detector, history data manager, changed object extractor, changed type classifier, and changed object saver. We use two metrics: detection rate and extraction rate, to evaluate the performance of the system. As a result of applying the system to boreholes, ground wells, soil layers, and rock floors in Pyeongtaek, 100% of inserted, deleted, and updated objects in each layer are detected. In addition, it provides the advantage of ensuring the up-to-dateness of the reference map by downloading it whenever maps are compared. In the future, additional research is needed to confirm the stability and effectiveness of the developed system using various data to apply it to the field.

Often a network becomes complex, and multiple entities would get in charge of managing part of the whole network. An example is a utility grid. While the entire grid would go under a single utility company's responsibility, the network is often split into multiple subsections. Subsequently, each subsection would be given as the responsibility area to the corresponding sub-organization in the utility company. The issue of how to make subsystems of adequate size and minimum number of interconnections between subsystems becomes more critical, especially in real-time simulations. Because the computation capability limit of a single computation unit, regardless of whether it is a high-speed conventional CPU core or an FPGA computational engine, it comes with a maximum limit that can be completed within a given amount of execution time. The issue becomes worsened in real time simulation, in which the computation needs to be in precise synchronization with the real-world clock. When the subject of the computation allows for a longer execution time, i.e., a larger time step size, a larger portion of the network can be put on a computation unit. This translates into a larger margin of the difference between the worst and the best. In other words, even though the worst (or the largest) computational burden is orders of magnitude larger than the best (or the smallest) computational burden, all the necessary computation can still be completed within the given amount of time. However, the requirement of real-time makes the margin much smaller. In other words, the difference between the worst and the best should be as small as possible in order to ensure the even distribution of the computational load. Besides, data exchange/communication is essential in parallel computation, affecting the overall performance. However, the exchange of data takes time. Therefore, the corresponding consideration needs to be with the computational load distribution among multiple calculation units. If it turns out in a satisfactory way, such distribution will raise the possibility of completing the necessary computation in a given amount of time, which might come down in the level of microsecond order. This paper presents an effective way to split a given electrical network, according to multiple criteria, for the purpose of distributing the entire computational load into a set of even (or close to even) sized computational loads. Based on the proposed system splitting method, heavy computation burdens of large-scale electrical networks can be distributed to multiple calculation units, such as an RTDS real time simulator, achieving either more efficient usage of the calculation units, a reduction of the necessary size of the simulation time step, or both.

Recently, research on smart factories triggered by the 4th industrial revolution is being actively conducted. Accordingly, the manufacturing industry is conducting various studies to improve productivity and quality based on deep learning technology with robust performance. This paper is a study on the method of detecting tire surface defects in the visual inspection stage of the tire manufacturing process, and introduces a tire surface defect detection method using a depth image acquired through a 3D camera. The tire surface depth image dealt with in this study has the problem of low contrast caused by the shallow depth of the tire surface and the difference in the reference depth value due to the data acquisition environment. And due to the nature of the manufacturing industry, algorithms with performance that can be processed in real time along with detection performance is required. Therefore, in this paper, we studied a method to normalize the depth image through relatively simple methods so that the tire surface defect detection algorithm does not consist of a complex algorithm pipeline. and conducted a comparative experiment between the general normalization method and the normalization method suggested in this paper using YOLO V3, which could satisfy both detection performance and speed. As a result of the experiment, it is confirmed that the normalization method proposed in this paper improved performance by about 7% based on mAP 0.5, and the method proposed in this paper is effective.
