Arachidonic acid is a polyunsaturated fatty acid(PUFA) containing twenty carbon atoms with four double bonds. The family of w-6 PUFA, including arachidonic acid as well as r-linoleic acid, was served as intermediates in the formation of several key prostaglandin and leukotrienes. Several fungal strains of the genus Mortierella accumulate high amounts of arachidonic acid. In this study experiments were carried out to optimize the culture conditions for the mass production of fungus Mortierella alpina DSA -12 and lipid production with high proportion of polyunsaturated fatty acids, especially arachidonic acid. The batch culture was carried out in 500 L fermenter containing 50 g/L glucose, 18 g/L corn-steep powder and 100 mg/L MnS04 under $25^{\circ}C$, aeration rate of 0.5 vvm and agitation speed of 200 rpm without pH control. As a result, we could be obtained 22 g/L of cell mass with high contents of lipid 12.1 g/L) and arachidonic acid (5.1 g/L) The intermittent fed-batch culture was performed in the medium containing 20 g/L glucose and 10 g/L corn-steep powder. The final glucose concentration was 170 g/L and pH was maintained at 5.5 ${\sim}$ 6.0 by adding 14% ammonia solution. It was shown relatively high cell concentration (70.5 g/L) with high contents of lipid (45.8 g/L) and arachidonic acid 08.3 g/L). Therefore, when compared to batch cultures, the high concentration of arachidonic acid could be obtained by fed-batch culture using M. alpina DSA -12. These results imply that the fed-batch culture of M. alpina DSA -12 was feasible in industrial purpose and could be employed in the commercial production of arachidonic acid.
Many real world control problems have continuous states and actions. When the state space is continuous, the reinforcement learning problems involve very large state space and suffer from memory and time for learning all individual state-action values. These problems need function approximators that reason action about new state from previously experienced states. We introduce Fuzzy Q-Map that is a function approximators for 1 - step Q-learning and is based on fuzzy clustering. Fuzzy Q-Map groups similar states and chooses an action and refers Q value according to membership degree. The centroid and Q value of winner cluster is updated using membership degree and TD(Temporal Difference) error. We applied Fuzzy Q-Map to the mountain car problem and acquired accelerated learning speed.
XML(extensible Markup Language) is effective to information retrieval and sharing but has defects related to the data security. And, as a solution of this problem, the current XML security researches such as XML digital signature, XML data encryption, and XML access control exclude the validation property of XML document. The validation of XML should be considered for the secure information sharing in the XML-based environment. In this paper, we design and implement the system to support both security and validation to XML document. Our system performs data encryption and maintenance of valid status of XML document by referencing new XML schema namespace. In addition, it also provides the XML schema security function through the XML schema digital signature. During generating XML schema digital signature, DOMHash method which has the advantage of the faster speed than canonical XML method is applied to XML schema. In conclusion, our system shows the improved functions in flexibility, scalability, and reliability compared with the existing XML security researches.
Although the Java bytecode has numerous advantages, there are also shortcomings such as slow execution speed and difficulty in analysis. In order to overcome such disadvantages, bytecode analysis and optimization must be performed. We implements CTOC for optimized codes. An extended CFG must be first created in order to analyze and optimize a bytecode. Due to unique bytecode properties, the existing CFG must be expanded according to the bytecode. Furthermore, the CFG must be converted into SSA Form for a static analysis, for which calculation is required for various information such as the dominate relation, dominator tree, immediate dominator, $\phi$-function, rename, and dominance frontier. This paper describes the algorithm and the process for converting the existing CFG into the SSA From. The graph that incorporates the SSA Form is later used for type inference and optimization.

The detection method of curves for the lanes which is powerful for the variation by utilizing the lane variation vector and cardinal spline on the inverse perspective transformation screen images which do not required the camera parameters are suggested in this paper. This method detects the lane area by setting the expected lane area in the s frame and next s+1 frame where the inverse perspective transformation and entire process of the lane filter are adapted, and expects the points of lane location in the next frames with the lane variation vector calculation from the detected lane areas. The scan area is set from the nextly expected lane position and new lane positions are detected within these areas, and the lane variation vectors are renewed with the detected lane position and the lanes are detected with application of cardinal spline for the control points inside the lane areas. The suggested method is a powerful method for curved lane detection, but it was adopted to the linear lanes too. It showed an excellent lane detection speed of about 20ms in processing a frame.

In order to set up a steel frame at every construction site, it is necessary to attach a shackle to a crane to move steel frame beams and columns(H beams). The shackle used for this purpose must be removed manually from a higher place, which causes the risk of safety accidents to increase, work efficiency to decrease, and construction costs to rise. In this study, micro-mini, super lightweight, lower power consumptive, and cheaper auto-shackle with two-way RF communication, which can be used practically at construction site is designed and developed. The developed auto-shackle is able to have excellent remote monitoring and controlling functions, by adopting new operating principles and structures different from the existing one. The results of the study reveal that the auto-shackle can be applied for the purpose of remote controlling of various construction equipments and speed up the advancement of construction equipments.

The CRT monitor display system for SONAR signal that are commonly used in ships or naval vessels uses vector scanning method. Therefore the processing circuits of the system is complex. Also because production had been shut down, the supply of parts is difficult as well as high-cost. FPGA -based embedded processor system is flexible to adapting to various applications because it makes simple processing circuits and its core is easily reconfigurable, and provides high speed performance in low-cost. In this paper, we describe an implementation of SONAR signal LCD display system using the FPGA embedded processor system to overcome some weakness of existing CRT system. By changing X-Y Deflection and CRT control blocks of current system into FPGA embedded processor system, our system provides the simplicity, flexibility and low-cost of system configuration, and also real-time acquisition and display of SONAR signal.

In this research, we selected the speech recognition to implement the electric wheelchair system as a method to control it by only using the speech and used DTW (Dynamic Time Warping), which is speaker-dependent and has a relatively high recognition rate among the speech recognitions. However, it has to have small memory and fast process speed performance under consideration of real-time. Thus, we introduced VQ (Vector Quantization) which is widely used as a compression algorithm of speaker-independent recognition, to secure fast recognition and small memory. However, we found that the recognition rate decreased after using VQ. To improve the recognition rate, we applied ART2 (Adaptive Reason Theory 2) algorithm as a post-process algorithm to obtain about 5% recognition rate improvement. To utilize ART2, we have to apply an error range. In case that the subtraction of the first distance from the second distance for each distance obtained to apply DTW is 20 or more, the error range is applied. Likewise, ART2 was applied and we could obtain fast process and high recognition rate. Moreover, since this system is a moving object, the system should be implemented as an embedded one. Thus, we selected TMS320C32 chip, which can process significantly many calculations relatively fast, to implement the embedded system. Considering that the memory is speech, we used 128kbyte-RAM and 64kbyte ROM to save large amount of data. In case of speech input, we used 16-bit stereo audio codec, securing relatively accurate data through high resolution capacity.
In order to elucidate the properties of the background current whole cell patch clamp studies were performed in rabbit ventricular cells. Ramp pulses of ${\pm}80\;mV$ from holding potential of 40 mV(or 20 mV) at the speed of 0.8 V/sec were given every 30 sec(or 10 sec) and current-voltage diagrams(I-V curve) were obtained. For the activation of the background current isoprenaline, adenosine 3',5'-cyclic monophosphate(dBcAMP), guanosine 3',5'-cyclic monophosphate(cGMP), and $N^6$-2'-o-dibutyryladenosine 3',5'-cyclic monophosphate(dBcAMP) were applied after all known current systems were blocked with 2mM Ba, 1 mM Cd ,5 mM Ni, 10 ${\mu}M$ diltiazem, 10 ${\mu}m$ ouabain, and 20 mM tetraethylammonium(TEA). The conductance of background current in control was $0.65{\pm}0.69$ nS at 0 mV, its I-V curves was almost linear and reversed near 50 mV. When there was no taurine in pipette solution, isoprenaline hardly activated the background current but when taurine existed in pipette solution, isoprenaline activated the larger background current. Cyclic AMP or cyclic GMP alone had little effect on the activation of the background current, while cGMP potentiated cGMP effect. When the background current was activated with cGMP and cAMP, isoprenaline could not further increased the background current. The background current activated by isoprenaline depended on extracellular $Cl^-$ concentration and its reversal potential was shifted according to chloride equilibrium potential. The change of extracellular $Na+$ concentration had little effect on reversal potential of the background current activated by isoprenaline.
The recombinant strain P. pastoris GS115-lccC was used to produce laccase with high activity. Factors influencing laccase expression, such as pH, methanol concentration, copper concentration, peptone concentration, shaker rotate speed, and medium volume were investigated. Under the optimal conditions, laccase activity reached 12,344 U/L on day 15. The recombinant enzyme was purified by precipitating and dialyzing to electrophoretic homogeneity, and was estimated to have a molecular mass of about 58 kDa. When guaiacol was the substrate, the laccase showed the highest activity at pH 5.0 and was stable when the pH was 4.5~6.0. The optimal temperature for the laccase to oxidize guaiacol was $60^{\circ}C$, but it was not stable at high temperature. The enzyme could remain stable at $30^{\circ}C$ for 5 days. The recombinant laccase was used to degrade chlorpyrifos in several laccase/mediator systems. Among three synthetic mediators (ABTS, HBT, VA) and three natural mediators (vanillin, 2,6-DMP, and guaiacol), vanillin showed the most enhancement on degradation of chlorpyrifos. Both laccase and vanillin were responsible for the degradation of chlorpyrifos. A higher dosage of vanillin may promote a higher level of degradation of chlorpyrifos, and the 2-step addition of vanillin led to 98% chlorpyrifos degradation. The degradation of chlorpyrifos was faster in the L/V system ($k_{obs}$ = 0.151) than that in the buffer solution ($k_{obs}$ = 0.028).
