This paper suggests an improved system-level model of RF power amplifiers(PAs) including memory effects, and validates the suggested model by analyzing the power spectral density of the output signal with a predistortion linearizer. The original three-box(Wiener-Hammerstein) model uses input and output filters to capture RF frequency response of PAs. The adjacent spectral regrowth that occurs in three-box model can be perfectly removed by Hammerstein structure predistorter. However, the predistorter based on Hammerstein structure achieves limited performance in real PA applications due to other memory effects except RF frequency response. The spectrum of the output signal can be predicted accurately using the suggested model that changes a memoryless block in a three-box model with a memory polynomial. The proposed model accurately predicts the output spectrum density of PA with Hammerstein structure predistorter with less than 2 dB errors over ${\pm}30$ MHz adjacent channel ranges for IEEE 802.11 g WLAN signal.
We analyzed the line profiles of the planetary nebula (PN) NGC 7009 secured with the Keck I HIES and BOES's spectral data. The 5 positions were taken over the nebular image, 4 points on the bright rim plus 1 point at the central position. The covered spectral wavelength range was $3250{\AA}-8725{\AA}$ in these observations. We decomposed the lines of HI, HeI, HeII, CII, NIII, [ClIII], [NII], [OII], [OIII], [SII], [SIII], [ClIII], and [ArIII] using the IRAF and StarLink/Dipso. After correcting the Earth's movement and the PN's radial velocities, -48.6 & -48.9 km/s, respectively, for the Keck & BOES, we produced the line profiles in a velocity scale. The zero velocity at each line profile clearly indicates which part of the components is approaching or receding, giving a general information of the kinematical structure. Almost all of the low-to-medium excitation lines, such as [NII], [SII], [O III], and [ArIII], secured at the central position and four positions along the major & minor axes, showed 3 components, double peak + a wide wing component, suggesting the fast outflow structures are present. The overall geometry is a prolate shell which also has a fainter outer shell in the halo zone, but there appears to be some peculiar sub-structures inside the main shell. The high excitation He I, HeII, NIII lines which might be formed close to the inner boundary of the shell show unusual features, completely different from the other lines. The HeII and these high excitation lines may be indicative of a relative recent fast outflow from the central star and the permitted lines such as NIII might be affected by the innermost structure. We discuss a possible presence of a jet-like fast outflow structure in an out-flow axis different from the main axis of the spheroid shell.
The Kepler(NASA) and CoRoT(ESA) space telescopes are surveying thousands of exoplanet for finding Earth-like exoplanets with similar environments of the Earth. Then the TPF(NASA), DARWIN(ESA) and many large-aperture ground telescopes have plan for spectroscopic observations of these earth-like exoplanets in next decades. Now, it has been started to simulate the disk averaged spectra of the earthlike exoplanets for comparing the observed spectra and suggesting solutions of environment of these planets. Previous research, the simulations are based on radiative transfer method, but these are limited by optical models of Earth system and instruments. We introduce a new simulation method, IRT(Integrated Ray Tracing) to overcome limitations of previous method. The 3 components are defined in IRT; 1)Sun model, 2)Earth system model (Atmosphere, Land and Ocean), 3)Instrument model. The ray tracing in IRT is simulated in composed 3D real scale space from inside the sun model to the detector of instrument. The Sun model has hemisphere structure with Lambertian scattering optical model. Atmosphere is composed of 16 distributed structures and each optical model includes BSDF with using 6SV radiative transfer code. Coastline and 5 kinds of vegetation distribution data are used to land model structure, and its non-Lambertian scattering optical model is defined with the semi-empirical "parametric kernel method" used for MODIS(NASA) and POLDER(CNES) missions. The ocean model includes sea ice cap structure with the monthly sea ice area variation, and sea water optical model which is considering non-lambertian sun-glint scattering. Computation of spectral imaging and radiative transfer performance of Earth system model is tested with hypothetical space instrument in IRT model. Then we calculated the disk averaged spectra of the Earth system model in IRT computation model for 8 cases; 4 viewing orientation cases with full illuminated phase, and 4 illuminated phase cases in a viewing orientation. Finally the DAS results are compared with previous researching results of radiative transfer method.
This paper proposes a new speech enhancement model based on a complex nested U-Net with a dual-branch decoder. The proposed model consists of a complex nested U-Net to simultaneously estimate the magnitude and phase components of the speech signal, and the decoder has a dual-branch decoder structure that performs spectral mapping and time-frequency masking in each branch. At this time, compared to the single-branch decoder structure, the dual-branch decoder structure allows noise to be effectively removed while minimizing the loss of speech information. The experiment was conducted on the VoiceBank + DEMAND database, commonly used for speech enhancement model training, and was evaluated through various objective evaluation metrics. As a result of the experiment, the complex nested U-Net-based speech enhancement model using a dual-branch decoder increased the Perceptual Evaluation of Speech Quality (PESQ) score by about 0.13 compared to the baseline, and showed a higher objective evaluation score than recently proposed speech enhancement models.

Site coefficient and amplification factor of current domestic Seismic Design Code (KBC-2009) have no consideration for the domestic ground condition in which the base rock is normally placed within 30m form the surface. Accordingly, in this study dynamic centrifugal test and analysis for pile foundation into clay were achieved. and the response spectrums of free surface and basement were compared with each other. Within the period 1sec., the measured spectral acceleration of free surface and basement was bigger than the design spectral acceleration of SC and SD site. However the measured spectral acceleration of free surface and basement for the period over 1.5sec. was smaller than the design spectral acceleration of SC site. There was no severe difference of spectral acceleration according to the upper structure, embedded depth of foundation and free surface conditions. Consequently, normal domestic apartment housing for the period range over 1.5sec. could be design more economically applying these test result.

In this paper, we analyze the spectral efficiency of multicarrier-code division multiple access (MC-CDMA) scheme. First, we derive a generalized formula for the spectral efficiency according to the number of subcarriers involved in, code division multiplexing and the number of codes used (i.e., loading factor), under a given set of channel coefficients. Also, we derive a generalized formula for spectral efficiency of various reduced-complexity systems that divide the full sets of subcarriers into several groups of subcarriers for code division multiplexing. Then, through these derivations, we establish an inter-relationship between the frequency selectivity and diversity order according to the number of multipaths. From the results, we choose the smallest code length while maximizing the diversity effect, provide an optimum subcarrier allocation strategy, and finally suggest a system structure for capacity-maximizing under the smallest code length. Through numerical analyses under simulated environments, we analyze the properties of spectral efficiency of various systems with reduced complexity and choose a major contributing factors to system design and a better system design methodology. Finally, we compare the spectral efficiency of the MC-CDMA scheme and orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) scheme to make a relationship between both schemes.

In hyperspectral remote sensing, linear spectral mixture model is a common procedure decomposing into the components of a mixed pixel and estimating the fraction of each end-member. Although linear spectral mixture model is frequently used in geology and mineral mapping because this model is simple and easy to apply, this model is not always valid in forest and urban area having rather complex structure. This study aims to analyze possible error for applying linear spectral mixture model. For the study, we measured laboratory spectra of mixture sample, having various materials, fractions, distributions. The accuracy of linear mixture model is low with the mixture sample having similar fraction because the multi-scattering between components is maximum. Additionally, this multi-scattering is related to the types, fraction, and distribution of components. Further analysis is necessary to quantify errors from linear spectral mixture model.

A new secondary metabolite was isolated from the culture broth and mycelium of Streptomyces sp. collected from marine sediment. The structure of this compound was determined to be N-formylantimycic acid methyl ester, an acyclic derivative of antimycin, on the basis of combined chemical and spectral methods. The structure-activity relationship of antimycins is discussed.

A self-pulsating multisection distributed-feedback laser diode (DFB LD) can potentially realize all-optical clock extraction. This device generally consists of three sections, two DFB sections and one waveguide section. The most important variable in this device is detuning, which is the relative spectral position between the stop bands of two DFB sections. We fabricated a novel structure in which two gratings were located one over and one under the active layers. Each grating structure was independently defined in processing so that detuning, which is the prerequisite for self-pulsation, could be easily controlled. Observing various self-pulsating phenomena in these devices under several detuning conditions, we characterized the phenomena as dispersive Q-switching, mode beating, and self-mode-locking.
Cyanobacteria, blue-green algae, are a rich source of bioactive secondary metabolites with many potential applications. The ubiquitin-proteasome proteolytic system plays an important role in selective protein degradation and regulates cellular events including apoptosis. Cancer cells are more sensitive to the proapoptotic effects of proteasome inhibition than normal cells. Thus, proteasome inhibitors can be potential anticancer agents. Cyanobacteria have been shown to be a rich source of highly effective inhibitors of proteases. A proteasome inhibitor was screened from an extract of the culture of Scytonema hofmanni on the basis of its inhibitory activity, which led to the isolation of nostodione A with an $IC_{50}$ value of 50${\mu}M$. Its structure was determined by spectroscopic methods such as $^{1}H$-NMR and ESI-MS spectral analyses.
