  • Kruskal and Wallis (1952) proposed typical nonparametric method in one-way layout problem. A special feature of this procedure is use of rank in mixed samples. In this paper, the new procedure based on placement as extension of the two sample placement tests described in Orban and Wolfe (1982) was proposed. Some critical values in small sample cases and comparative results of a Monte Carlo power study are presented.

  • This paper introduces an extended version of ${\kappa}$-records. Kullback-Leibler (K-L) information between two generalized distributions arising from ${\kappa}$-records is derived; subsequently, it is shown that K-L information does not depend on the baseline distribution. The behavior of K-L information for order statistics and ${\kappa}$-records, is studied. The exact expressions for K-L information between distributions of order statistics and upper (lower) ${\kappa}$-records are obtained and some special cases are provided.

  • The relation between light sources and screen cells is considered part of the theoretical model of an autostereoscopic 3D display. The geometry of the image and observer regions is presented, including the cases of single and multiple regions. The characteristic function is introduced. Formulas for the geometric parameters are obtained, including areas and angles. Special attention is drawn to the screen location. The method of transforming the formulas between regions is stated. For multiple regions, geometric dissimilarity was found. This allows the model to be applied in finding the geometric characteristics of multiview and integral-imaging 3D displays.

  • In this note, we present some sufficient conditions on the structure of modelling uncertainties for output regualtion of uncertain systems. It turns out that these conditions include as special cases the ordinary matching conditions for stage regulation of uncertain systems and the disturbance decoupling condition. the previous restrictions on the structure of modelling uncertainties can be considerably relaxed in the case of output regulation. The significance of out result is illuminated through a simple example.

  • The theory of generalized Bessel functions is reformulated within the framework of an operational formalism using the multiplier representation of the Lie group $T_3$ as suggested by Miller. This point of view provides more efficient tools which allow the derivation of generating functions of generalized Bessel functions. A few special cases of interest are also discussed.

  • Normal modes of carrier waves due to longitudinal modulation in solids have been defined. The dispersion relationship of these waves in the presence of collision effects and thermal diffusion is derived and examined in detail. It is also shown that the carrier waves are reduced to the wellknown space-charge waves and electroacoustic hayes in special cases.

  • A remarkably large number of integral formulas have been investigated and developed. Certain large number of integral formulas are expressed as derivatives of some known functions. Here we choose to recall such a formula to present explicit expressions in terms of Gamma function, Psi function and Polygamma functions. Some simple interesting special cases of our main formulas are also considered. It is also pointed out that the same argument can establish explicit integral formulas for other those expressed in terms of derivatives of some known functions.

  • We shall introduce a general probability mass function which includes several discrete probability mass functions. Especially, when the random variable X is Poisson, binomial, and negative binomial random variables as some special cases of the introduced distribution, the maximum likelihood estimator (MLE) and the uniformly minimum variance unbiased estimator (UMVUE) of the probability P(X ${\leq}$ t) are considered. And the efficiencies of the MLE and the UMVUE of the reliability ar compared each other.

  • In this paper, we introduce the concept of well-posedness for general variational inequalities and obtain some results under pseudomonotonicity. It is well known that monotonicity implies pseudomonotonicity, but the converse is not true. In this respect, our results represent an improvement and refinement of the previous known results. Since the general variational inequalities include (quasi) variational inequalities and complementarity problems as special cases, results obtained in this paper continue to hold for these problems.
