  • In this paper, we have implemented a performance analysis of $2{\times}1$ Alamouti scheme suggested by Alamouti, composed of the transmit space-time code and the simple linear decoding processing, in perfectly time-varying and spatially correlated channels. In addition, we derived the closed-form probability density function (PDF) of the output signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) and the outage probability of the Alamouti scheme as a function of the spatial correlation coefficient in the consideration of no correlation in time. As a result, it was found that the performance of the Alamouti scheme could be significantly degraded particularly in the case that the channels are time-varying and spatially correlated.

  • In this study, a digital terrain analysis had been performed for a mountainous watershed having wetlands. In order to consider the impact for wetland in the flow determination algorithm, the Laplace equation is implemented into the upslope accounting algorithm of wetness computation scheme. The computational algorithm of wetland to spatial contribution of downslope area and wetness was also developed to evaluate spatially distributed runoff due to the presence of wetland. Developed schemes were applied to Wangpichun watershed located Chuncuk mountain at Ulzingun, South Korea. Both spatial distribution of wetness and its histogram indicate that the developed scheme provides feasible consideration of wetland impact in spatial hydrologic analysis. The impact of wetland to downslope propagation pattern is also useful to evaluate spatially distributed runoff distribution.

  • We will characterize isomorphisms from the adjoint of a certain tridiag-onal algebra $AlgL_{2n}$ onto $AlgL_{2n}$. In this paper the following are proved: A map $\Phi{\;}:{\;}(AlgL_{2n})^{*}{\;}{\longrightarrow}{\;}AlgL_{2n}$ is an isomorphism if and only if there exists an operator S in $AlgL_{2n}$ with all diagonal entries are 1 and an invertible backward diagonal operator B such that ${\Phi}(A){\;}={\;}SBAB^{-1}S^{-1}$.

  • Quiescent solar radiation, at microwave spectral regime, is dominated by gyroresonant and thermal Bremsstrahlung radiations from hot electrons residing in solar active region corona. These radiations are known to provide excellent diagnostics on the coronal temperature, density, and magnetic field, provided that spatially resolved spectra are available from observations. In this paper we present an imaging spectroscopy implemented for a bipolar active region, AR 7912, using the multifrequency interferometric data from the Owens Valley Solar Array (OVSA), as processed with a new imaging technique, so-called Spatio-Spectral Maximum Entropy Method (SSMEM). From the microwave maps at 26 frequencies in the range of 1.2-12.4 GHz at both right- and left-circular polarizations, we construct spatially resolved brightness spectra in every reconstructed pixel of about 2 arcsec interval. These spectra allowed us to determine 2-D distribution of electron temperature, magnetic field of coronal base, and emission measure at the coronal base above the active region. We briefly compare the present result with existing studies of the coronal active regions.

  • Recently, the necessity of new methods of spatial data integration and analysis in CRM has been increased since it is acknowledged that about eighty percent of all data stored in corporate databases has a spatial component. But conventional CRM systems are either incapable of managing spatial data or are not user-friendly when doing so. This paper has designed and implemented spatially-enabled integration management system that can manage consistently both enterprise and spatial data through a legacy CRM system and object-oriented database and additionally support spatial analysis and map visualization for a gCRM. Through implementation, it is demonstrated that the proposed system can facilitate effectively spatial data management and analysis in a legacy CRM system.

  • This paper proposes an algorithm to enhance the performance of the spatial partitioning method for a flocking behavior. One of the characteristics in a flocking behavior is that two agents may share many common neighbors if they are spatially close to each other. This paper improves the spatial partitioning method by applying this characteristic. While the conventional spatial partitioning method computes the k-nearest neighbors of an agent one by one, the proposed method computes simultaneously the k-nearest neighbors of agents if they are spatially close to each other. The proposed algorithm was implemented and its performance was experimentally compared with the original spatial partitioning method. The results of the comparison showed that the proposed algorithm outperformed the original method by about 33% in average.

  • Network and Internet technology opens up another domain for building future CAD/CAM environment. The environment will be global, network-centric, and spatially distributed. In this paper, we present an approach for network-centric feature-based modeling in a distributed design environment. The presented approach combines the current feature-based modeling technique with distributed computing and communication technology for supporting product modeling and collaborative design activities over the network. The approach is implemented in a client/server architecture, in which Web-enabled feature modeling clients, neutral feature model server, and other applications communicate with one another via a standard communication protocol. The paper discusses how the neutral feature model supports multiple views and maintains naming consistency between geometric entities of the server and clients. Moreover, it explains how to minimize the network delay between the server and client according to incremental feature modeling operations.

  • In this study, optimizing BPOFs are encoded by Simulated Annealing algorithm that is widely used among the optimization algorithms. Two BPOFs are trained by digit patterns, 0~9, and the digits each having 4 intraclass patterns are multiplexed. When each digit is encoded by four bit binary code, from the results of computer simulation, the correlation pezk is shown at binary value 1 position among the spatially separated four positions at the correlation plane And then, the designed BPOFs are implemented by CGH technique. Through the optical correlation experiment, satisactory results are achieved, inspite of some experimental errors and information loss owing to the amplitude type CGH filter.
