실세계는 불연속성의 물체와 지표면의 개념으로 공간적인 모델링이 된다. 생성된 데이터 모델은 벡터와 래스터 형태로 표현된다. 비록 공간에 관련된 문제를 해결하기 위해서 단지 한 종류의 데이터를 사용해도 충분한 경우가 있기는 하지만 일반적으로 GIS는 다양한 형태의 데이터를 사용하게 된다 최근에는 GIS 분야의 발달로 다양한 형태의 데이터 모델이 소개되어지면서 이들 다양한 형태의 데이터를 효과적으로 다루기 위한 요구가 점점 커져가고 있는 추세이다. 지리정보 분야의 표준에 대한 연구를 수행하고 있는 Open GIS Consortium은 다양한 형태의 공간 데이터를 저장하고 활용하기 위해서 GMLJP2(Geographic Mark-Up Language JP2) 포맷을 소개하였다. GMIJP2 포맷은 웨이블렛 영상 압축 기법을 기반으로 하는 JPEG2000(JP2) 포맷을 기반으로 해서 확장성 및 호환성이 좋은 GML 데이터를 압축된 영상 위에 추가한 포맷이다. 이번 논문은 GMLJP2 포맷의 고찰과 다양한 공간데이터를 활용하고 관리하는데 활용될 수 있는 가능성을 검증하고자 한다. 항공사진, 수치지도와 LIDAR 데이터를 변환시켜서 GMLIP2 파일을 성공적으로 생성할 수가 있었다. 또한, GMLJP2 파일을 처리할 수 있는 응용프로그램을 설계 및 구현시켜 단일 파일에서 다양한 형태의 공간데이터를 효율적으로 처리되는 것을 확인하였다.

본 연구에서는 상용 CIS 소프트웨어인 ARC/INFO에 구축되어 있는 지하 시설물 데이터를 3차원 공간 객체로 변환하기 위하여 3차원 공간 객체의 형식과 객체 저장 구조를 정의하고, 2차원의 지하 시설물 데이터를 정의된 3차원 공간 객체로 변환하는 공간 데이터 변환 시스템을 객체 지향 개발 기법인 Booch의 방법을 사용하여 개발하였다. 이를 위하여 ARC/INFO의 관계형 데이터 모델과 저장 구조를 분석하고, 지하 시설물의 3차원 시각화를 위한 요구 조건들을 분석하였다. 그리고 ARC/INFO에 저장된 2차원 지하 시설물 데이터는 내부적인 전처리 과정을 통하여 ASCII 파일로 변환 후, 변환 시스템의 입력 자료로 사용하였고, 변환 시스템의 개발을 위한 개발 방법으로 Booch의 방법을 선정하여 시스템의 분석과 설계 과정에 적용하였다. 마지막으로 분석과 설계의 결과를 ARC/INFO의 매크로 언어인 AML과 객체 지향 프로그래밍 언어인 C++를 사용하여 구현하였다. 본 연구의 결과, 지하 공간에 존재하는 2차원 시설물들을 3차원으로 시각화 할 수 있는 3차원 공간 객체를 얻을 수 있었으며, 시스템의 개발 과정에 객체 지향 개발 기법을 적용함으로써 효율적인 개발을 수 행할 수 있었다.

In this paper we develop an indoor location tracking system and its 3D tracking monitoring viewer, viz., 3D Navigation Viewer (3DNV). We focus on the integration of an indoor location tracking system with the Virtual Reality Modeling Language (VRML), to facilitate a representation of the user's spatial information in virtual indoor environments that is synchronized with the physical location environment. The developed indoor location tracking system employs beacons as active transmitters, and a listener as a passive receiver. The distance information calculated from the difference speeds of RF and Ultrasonic signals is exploited, to determine the user's physical location. This is essential in supporting third parties like doctors and caregivers in identifying the activities and status of a particular individual via 3DNV. 3DNV serves as a unified user interface for an indoor location tracking system, showing the viewpoint and position of the target in virtual indoor environments. It was implemented using VRML, to provide an actual real time visualization of the target's spatial information.

여러 출판물, 특히 아동을 위한 출판문에는 삽화가 포함된다. 동화책 출판 과정에 삽화가 자동으로 생성된다면, 출판과정의 편의성이 더욱 높아질 것이다. 본 논문에서는 삽화를 생성하는 과정에서 객체들을 적절하게 배치하는 방법에 대하여 논의한다. 객체들을 적절하게 배치하기 위해서는 객체들이 불필요하게 겹치는 현상을 줄이고 글에 기술된 공간 상의 관계들을 만족하도록 해야 한다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 공간 상의 관계가 표현되도록 삽화로 생성하고자 하는 자연언어문장을 트리 및 술어-논항 구조를 이용하여 나타내는 방법을 제안한다. 이어서 이로부터 트리구조의 단일화, 영역 연결 계산을 이용하여 삽화를 생성하는 과정을 논의한다.

Context-awareness techniques in ubiquitous computing environment provide various services to users who need to get information via the analysis of collected information from sensors in a spatial area. Context-awareness has been increased in ubiquitous computing and is applied to many different applications such as disaster management system, intelligent robot system, transportation management system, shopping management system, and digital home service. Many researches have recently focused on services that provide the appropriate information, which are collected from Internet by different kinds of sensors, to users according to context of their surrounding environment. In this paper, we propose an abstraction model to manage the large-scale contextual information and their metadata which are collected from different kinds of in-situ sensors in a spatial area and are presented them on the web. This model is composed of the modules expressing functional elements of sensors using sensorML(Sensor Model Language) based on XML language and the modules managing contextual information, which is transmitted from the sensors.

This paper describes three modules for development of the Space Frame Integrated Design System(SFIDS). The Control Module is implemented to control the developed system. The Model Generation Module based on PATRAN user interface enables users to generate a complicated finite element model for space frame structures. The Optimum Design Module base on a branch of combinatorial optimization techniques which can realize the optimization of a structure having a large number of members designs optimum members of a space frame after evaluating analysis results. The Control Module and the Model Generation Module Is implemented by PATRAN Command Language(PCL) while C++ language is used in the Optimum Design Module. The core of the system is PATRAN database, in which the Model Generation Module creates information of a finite element model. Then, PATRAN creates Input files needed for the analysis program from the information of the finite element model in the database, and in turn, imports output results of analysis program to the database. Finally, the Optimum Design Module processes member grouping of a space frame based on the output results, and performs optimal member selection of a space frame. This process is repeated until the desired optimum structural members are obtained.

명료도시험은 실내에서 음성이 정확히 전달되는 정도를 정량화할 수 있는 유용한 건축음향의 지표중 하나이다. 많은 나라에서 이미 표준화하여 사용하고 있듯이, 한국어에 적합한 명료도시험의 기준이 1989년에 제안되었으며, 안정적인 배경소음조건에서 위의 시험방법은 그 타당성이 입증된 바 있다. 이 논문에서는 위의 제안된 명료도 시험방법이 변동하는 외부소음의 조건에서도 유용하게 적용될 수 있는지를 검증하고자 하였다. 소음레벨이 시간에 따라 변화하는 26개 교실에서 수행한 명료도시험과 음향측정에 의하여, 한국어 음원에 대하여 제안된 명료도시험 방법은 실내의 청취조건을 평가하는 유용한 수단이 될 수 있음이 밝혀졌다.

본 연구는 유비쿼터스 환경에서의 Business GIS 발전을 위한 국가GIS(NGIS)의 역할과 발전방안을 제시하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 본 연구를 통해 위치기반 환경에서의 GIS 활용 현황 및 정보통신기술 환경과 GIS 기술수준을 분석하였다. 또한, GML(Geography Markup Language)과 TPEG (Transport Protocol Experts Group) 같은 국제표준을 준수하는 GIS 콘텐츠 개발과 GIS의 killer application 분야로서의 LBS(Location-Based Service), 텔레매틱스, ITS(Intelligent Transport System), gCRM(geographic Customer Relationship Management), DMB(Digital Multimedia Broadcasting), u(ubiquitous)-City, u-Town 등 다양한 신규 정보통신분야의 접목을 제시하였다. 마지막으로 Business GIS의 QoS, 표준화, 연구 및 개발, GIS 교육, 보안등을 위한 국가GIS 기반의 개념적 수익모델을 정립하였다.

As multimedia application services on high-speed information network have been rapidly developed, the need for the video information management system that provides an efficient way for users to retrieve video data is growing. In this paper, we propose a video data model that integrates free annotations, image features, and spatial-temporal features for video purpose of improving content-based retrieval of video data. The proposed video data model can act as a generic video data model for multimedia applications, and support free annotations, image features, spatial-temporal features, and structure information of video data within the same framework. We also propose the video query language for efficiently providing query specification to access video clips in the video data. It can formalize various kinds of queries based on the video contents. Finally we design and implement the query processing engine for efficient video data retrieval on the proposed metadata model and the proposed video query language.

The rising urban space in the United States at the turn of the twentieth century was an exemplary site of struggles between the dominant white population and those who migrated from the imperial peripheries. By setting up the space of Chinatown as a segregated sphere within the urban space, the dominant white American society attempted to recreate the sense of distance between themselves and the racial "others." Accordingly, the dominant narrative representations of San Francisco Chinatown at the turn of the century endeavored to produce and maintain the spatial dichotomies between the orderly spaces of natives and the disruptive immigrant communities within the larger boundary of modern American city space. As a Eurasian woman writer, Sui Sin Far attempted to provide distinctive portrayals of the space of Chinatown and its inhabitants that were far different from those of her contemporaries. Through her portrayals of San Francisco Chinatown in her collection of short-stories, Mrs. Spring Fragrance and Other Writings (1912), Far challenges against the false stereotypes and misreading of this unique immigrant space within and efforts to present the Chinatown as a heterotopic diaspora space where the "insiders" and the "outsiders" of the American urban space intermingle and influence each other.
