  • In this paper, the spatial modulation (SM) multi-input multi-output (MIMO) system is proposed for indoor wireless local area networks (WLANs) with improved spectral efficiency. SM is suitable for high speed WLANs with avoiding the inter channel interference (ICI). Only one transmit antenna is activated in SM at each symbol interval. Therefore, it fails to attain the maximum coding gain of MIMO. The space time block code (STBC)-SM MIMO system can attain the maximum diversity gain at the expense of spectral efficiency. The proposed Golden-SM MIMO system uses the Golden code to improve the coding gain and spectral efficiency at the same time. The Golden code is adapted for STBC-SM and it makes the new code book for transmission symbols. The performance of the proposed system is compared with the conventional systems with computer simulations.

  • In this paper, we propose the opportunistic channel state information feedback scheme for eigen based scheduling in multiuser MIMO systems. According to 3GPP SMC channel model, the system capacity of MU-MIMO systems is severly degraded, since the antennas are highly correlated in urban macro cell. Although the eigen based scheduling scheme mitigates the adverse effect of the antenna correlation, it achieves only small amount of the multiuser diversity gain. Since the opportunistic channel state information scheme can achieve sufficient multiuser diversity gain, the system capacity of MU-MIMO systems can be improved. The system capacity improvement is verified by the computer simulation results.

  • Differential spatial modulation uses the antenna index to transmit information, which improves the spectral efficiency, and completely bypasses any channel side information in the recommended setting. A generalized distributed multiple turbo coded-cooperative differential spatial modulation based on distributed multiple turbo code is put forward and its performances in Rayleigh fading channels is analyzed. The generalized distributed multiple turbo coded-cooperative differential spatial modulation scheme is a coded-cooperation communication scheme, in which we proposed a new joint parallel iterative decoding method. Moreover, the code matched interleaver is considered to be the best choice for the generalized multiple turbo coded-cooperative differential spatial modulation schemes, which is the key factor of turbo code. Monte Carlo simulated results show that the proposed cooperative differential spatial modulation scheme is better than the corresponding non-cooperative scheme over Rayleigh fading channels in multiple input and output communication system under the same conditions. In addition, the simulation results show that the code matched interleaver scheme gets a better diversity gain as compared to the random interleaver.

  • In this work, we study the performance of a serial concatenated scheme comprising a convolutional code (CC) and an orthogonal space-time block code (STBC) separated by an inter-leaver. Specifically, we derive performance bounds for this concatenated scheme, clearly quantify the impact of using a CC in conjunction with a STBC, and compare that to using a STBC code only. Furthermore, we examine the impact of performing antenna selection at the receiver on the diversity order and coding gain of the system. In performing antenna selection, we adopt a selection criterion that is based on maximizing the instantaneous signal-tonoise ratio (SNR) at the receiver. That is, we select a subset of the available receive antennas that maximizes the received SNR. Two channel models are considered in this study: Fast fading and quasi-static fading. For both cases, our analyses show that substantial coding gains can be achieved, which is confirmed through Monte-Carlo simulations. We demonstrate that the spatial diversity is maintained for all cases, whereas the coding gain deteriorates by no more than $10\;log_{10}$ (M / L) dB, all relative to the full complexity multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) system.

  • In this paper, we proposed spectrum sensing using cooperative relay to solve problem of sensing performance degradation due to CPE (Customer-Premises equipments) which causes low SNR (signal-to-noise ratio) problem. In cooperative communication system, AF (amplify-and-forward) and DF (decoded-and-forward) is widely used for relay mechanism. Also, it is expected that cooperative relay scheme guarantees the high sensing performance by its diversity gain. Based on these backgrounds, in this paper, we apply to cooperative relay scheme to the CR (Cognitive Radio) system, and simulation results show comparison of the sensing performance.

  • This article presents a novel cooperative spectrum sharing (CSS) scheme. The primary transmitter transmits a complex Quadrature amplitude modulation (QAM) signal in the first phase, and CSS occurs in the second phase. The secondary transmitter with the largest forwarding channel gain among the nodes that successfully decode the primary signal in the first phase is selected for CSS. This selected node employs a pulse-amplitude modulation (PAM) signal for primary information message (IM) instead of the QAM signal, and it employs a modified PAM signal for the secondary IM. The proposed modified PAM signal depends on the amplitude of the primary PAM signal. This method results in no mutual interference and negligible primary interference constraint and allows a higher degree of exploitation of spatial diversity, thus enabling increase in secondary power to improve primary transmission. The outage performance is enhanced in both the primary and secondary systems. The critical region, in which the primary outage performance is enhanced with the proposed CSS scheme, can be adjusted and widened by varying either the modulation cooperation sharing factor or the number of secondary transmitters.

  • Compared to the MIMO system using the spatial multiplexing methods and the MIMO system using the diversity scheme achieved a high rate, but the lower the diversity gain to improve the data transmission reliability should separate the spatial stream at the MIMO receiver. In this paper, we compared Channel capacity detection methods with the Lattice code, the 3-user interference channel and linear channel interference detection methods ZF (Zero Forcing) and MMSE (Minimum Mean Square Error) detection methods. The channel is a Diagonal channel. In other words, Diagonal channel is confirmed by the inverse matrix satisfies the properties of Jacket are element-wise inverse to $[H]_N[H]_N^{-1}=[I]_N$.

  • Cooperative diversity is a transmission technique, in which multiple terminals pool their resources to form a virtual antenna array that realizes spatial diversity gain in a distributed fashion. In this paper, we propose a new type of cooperative transmission protocol with a full rate and show that its BER performance is improved by 8dB over the existing protocol under the AF (amplify-and-forward) mode of relaying.

  • We consider cooperative opportunistic beamforming that can mitigate the other cell interference (OCI) in correlated multi-user multiple-input single-output (MISO) cellular environments. By only exploiting the spatial channel information of adjacent cells, the proposed scheme generates the cooperative random beam that statistically avoids the OCI from adjacent cells. Each cell selects a user in an opportunistic manner. Thus, the proposed scheme can simultaneously achieve the multi-user diversity (MUD) gain and the OCI avoidance gain.
