잣나무 임분밀도에 따른 피톤치드 농도 및 임내환경 특성에 관한 연구 (Analysis of Phytoncide Concentration and Micrometeorology Factors by Pinus Koraiensis Stand Density)

  • Objectives: Scientific verification for health effects has been constantly demanded through the forest healing factors. In this study, phytoncide concentration which is one of the forest healing factors, was investigated according to stand density, season and visiting time, and analyzed correlation with micrometeorology factors. Methods: Total volatile organic compounds (TVOCs) and Natural volatile organic compounds (NVOCs) were collected using a measuring instrument which is connected to an air pump with the Tenax TA tube. The 32NVOCs were selected through the detailed criteria of adequacy assessment for recreational forest. The statistical analysis (correlation and stepwise regression analysis) was conducted between phytoncide concentration and micrometeorology factors. Results: NVOCs concentration linearly increased according to stand density. The high level showed in the summer (p<0.05), and there is no significant difference according to visiting hours of the Healing forest. NVOCs is a negative correlation with solar radiation, PAR and wind direction, and a positive correlation with relative humidity and temperature (p<0.01). NVOCs increased following the increase of humidity and temperature ($R^2=0.55$). Conclusions: Phytoncide linearly increased according to stand density, and showed the correlation significantly with microclimate factors. In future, these results will be utilized as a basic material to promote the generation of phytoncide, which positively influences human health promotion and manage the forest welfare space.

병렬화된 오일러 코드를 이용한 3차원 날개의 천음속 플러터 해석 (Transonic Wing Flutter Analysis Using a Parallel Euler Solver)

  • 본 연구에서는 3차원 시간 정확도를 가진 오일러 공탄성 해석 기법을 개발하였다. 유체-구조를 연계 시 발생할 수 있는 지연(lagging) 오차를 감소시키기 위해서 2차의 staggered 알고리즘을 적용하였다. 비정상 공력 해석과정에서 시간 정확도와 계산 시간을 줄이기 위해 사용된 병렬화된 다중격자기법(parallelized multi-grid method)과 DADI 기법을 기반으로 된 이중시간전진기법(dual-time stepping method)을 사용하였다. 오일러 공탄성 코드의 검증을 위해서 AGARD 445.6 날개 모델의 공탄성 해석을 수행하였다. 해석 결과는 실험값 및 다른 참고문헌의 해석 결과와 비교하였으며, 본 연구의 해석 결과가 다른 참고 문헌의 해석 결과들과 비교하여 상대적으로 실험값에 근접하였다.

OH Emission toward Embedded YSOs

  • High energy photons and mechanical energy produced by the process of star formation result in copious FIR molecular and atomic lines, which are important coolants of the system. Photons thermally or mechanically induced could dissociate water in the dense envelope to change relative abundances among the species of O, OH, and H2O. Here we analyze OH emission lines toward embedded young stellar objects (YSOs) observed as part of the Herschel open time key program, 'Dust, Ice, and Gas In Time (DIGIT)' in order to study the physical conditions of associated gas and the energy budget loaded on the OH line emission. According to our analysis of the Herschel/PACS spectra, OH emission peaks at the central spaxel in most of sources, but several sources show spatially extended emission structures. In the extended emission sources, the distribution of OH emission is correlated with that of [OI] emission and extended along the outflow directions. Considering the diversity of source properties, ratios between detected OH lines are relatively constant among sources. In addition, each OH line has strong correlation with bolometric luminosity. In order to determine the physical conditions of YSOs, we adopt several methods for the analysis of the OH lines: rotational diagram, non-LTE LVG analysis, and a 2-D PDR code. From the simple LVG analysis, we find that the thermal solution with the dense ( > $10^7cm^{-3}$) and warm ( ~ 100 K) OH gas reproduces the ratios of detected OH lines. However, our self-consistent PDR 2-D model, which can deal with the IR-pumping effect from the central protostar as well as the warm dust in situ, cannot fit the observational results, suggesting that an irradiated shock model is necessary for a better interpretation.

Transmission Techniques for Downlink Multi-Antenna MC-CDMA Systems in a Beyond-3G Context

  • The combination of multiple antennas and multi-carrier code division multiple-access (MC-CDMA) is a strong candidate for the downlink of the next generation mobile communications. The study of such systems in scenarios that model real-life trans-missions is an additional step towards an optimized achievement. We consider a realistic MIMO channel with two or four transmit antennas and up to two receive antennas, and channel state information (CSI) mismatches. Depending on the mobile terminal (MT) class, its number of antennas or complexity allowed, different data-rates are proposed with turbo-coding and asymptotic spectral efficiencies from 1 to 4.5 bit/s/Hz, using three algorithms developed within the European IST-MATRICE project. These algorithms can be classified according to the degree of CSI at base-station (BS): i) Transmit space-frequency prefiltering based on constrained zero-forcing algorithm with complete CSI at BS; ii) transmit beamforming based on spatial correlation matrix estimation from partial CSI at BS; iii) orthogonal space-time block coding based on Alamouti scheme without CSI at BS. All presented schemes require a reasonable complexity at MT, and are compatible with a single-antenna receiver. A choice between these algorithms is proposed in order to significantly improve the performance of MC-CDMA and to cover the different environments considered for the next generation cellular systems. For beyond-3G, we propose prefiltering for indoor and pedestrian microcell environments, beamforming for suburban macrocells including high-speed train, and space-time coding for urban conditions with moderate to high speeds.

GPS 기준국망을 이용한 전리층 총전자수 변화 검출 연구 (A DETECTION STUDY OF THE IONOSPHERIC TOTAL ELECTRON CONTENTS VARIATIONS USING GPS NETWORK)

  • 강한 지자기 폭풍이 발생하였을 때 한반도 상공의 전리층내 총전자수(TEC, Total Electron Contents) 변화를 분석하기 위해 GPS 기준국망을 데이터를 이용한 지역적인 전리층 감시모델을 개발하였다. 전리층 총전자수 감시모델 개발을 위해 한국천문연구원에서 운용중인 대전 IGS(International GNSS Service) 기준국을 포함한 전국에 고르게 분포하고 있는 9개의 GPS 기준국 데이터를 이용하였다. 또한 순간적인 전리층 변화 특성을 분석하기 위해 CSS(Cubic Spline Smoothing)기법을 적용하였고, 그 결과 2003년 11월 20일 강한 지자기 폭풍이 발생했을 때 한반도 상공에서 총전자수의 순간적인 변화를 검출할 수 있었다. 이때에는 평일과 비교했을 때 특정시각의 약 1.5배 이상 총전자수가 증가함을 보였다. 마지막으로 지구 자기장 활동 정도를 나타내는 Kp 지수, Dst 지수 그리고 천문연 GPS 기준국망 데이터를 이용해 산출된 총전자수 변화와의 연관성을 제시했다.

Type II 전파폭발이 관측된 행성간 충격파의 1AU 내에서의 전파 과정 (TRANSIT OF THE INTERPLANETARY SHOCKS ASSOCIATED WITH TYPE II RADIO BURSTS WITHIN 1AU)

  • ACE 위성이 1997년부터 2000년까지 관측한 행성간 충격파들 중에서 WIND 위성에서 관측된 Type II 태양 전파 폭발에 의한 것으로 연관되어지는 행성간 충격파 31개를 선별하였다. 이들 행성간 충격파 발생과 관련된 Type II 전파 폭발이 관측된 후에 행성 간 충격파가 인공위성들에 의해 관측될 때까지의 시간을 측정하여 행성간 충격파가 태양에서 지구까지 전달되는 전달속도를 구하였다. 이 속도와 ACE위성에서 실제 관측된 행성간 충격파의 진행속도를 비교하여 행성간 충격파의 태양 지구간 전파과정은 평균 가속도가 $-1.02m/sec^2$로 감속되는 과정임을 규명하였다. 더 나아가, 이로부터 행성간 충격파의 특성에 따른 행성간 충격파 전달 과정의 감속을 결정하는 가속도 값이 행성간 충격파의 진행속도나 마하수 등과 상관관계가 없음을 밝혀내었다.

Dependence of solar proton events on X-ray flare peak flux, longitude, and impulsive time

  • In this study, we present a new empirical forecasting method of solar proton events based on flare parameters. For this we used NOAA solar energetic particle (SEP) events from 1976 to 2006 and their associated X-ray flare data. As a result, we found that about only 3.5% (1.9% for M-class and 21.3% for X-class) of the flares are associated with the proton events. It is also found that this fraction strongly depends on longitude; for example, the fraction for $30W^{\circ}$ < L < $90W^{\circ}$ is about three times larger than that for $30^{\circ}E$ < L < $90^{\circ}E$. The occurrence probability of solar proton events for flares with long duration (> 0.3 hours) is about 2 (X-class flare) to 7 (M-class flare) times larger than that for flares with short duration (< 0.3 hours). The relationship between X-ray flare peak flux and proton peak flux as well as its correlation coefficient are strongly dependent on longitude. Using these results for prediction of proton flux, we divided the data into 6 subgroups depending on two parameters: (1) 3 longitude ranges (east, center, and west) and (2) flare impulsive times (long and short). For each subgroup, we make a linear regression between the X-ray flare peak flux and the corresponding proton peak flux. The result shows that the proton flux in the eastern region is much better correlated with the X-ray flux than that in the western region.

시각적 연속성을 통한 가로공간에서의 감성 연구 - 전통가로와 근대가로의 비교를 중심으로 - (A Study on Emotions in the Street Space through Visual Sequence - Focusing on Comparision of Traditional Streets and Modern Streets -)

  • Body movements of humans have emotions and these movements have meanings of 'Living Spirits' and 'Emotions'. Also emotions of humans indicate all body movements which are made within the environment. This study aims at providing new potentials to emotional design research methods not only by understanding the characteristics of visual perception according to body movements and but by investigating correlations between sequence which arise by the visual perception and emotions through experiments. As for the scope and method of this study, the emotional space designs were analyzed through the emotional theory study, SD method was used to evaluate emotions and the movements in the modern village and traditional village with similar elements were compared and analyzed for the empirical study. As a result, first it was confirmed waling hours in the traditional village took more than the modern village and it is thought movements of humans are affected by the visual environments. Second, it was confirmed values of the emotional evaluation were higher in the traditional village than the modern village. Third, according to a result of the correlation analysis between space sequence and emotions, it was closed with negative emotions such as 'Closed', and 'Complicated' from positive emotional words such as 'Natural'. 'Open', 'Curious', etc. as spaces are experienced more through movements in the modern village. On the contrary, the emotional intensity of the positive words such as 'In Harmony', 'Beautiful' and 'Warn' through movements in the traditional village increased as spaces were experienced more. As a result of this study, it was confirmed the time, space and emotions have correlations each other.

SONDRESTROM 비간섭 산란 레이더 자료를 이용한 극지방 전리층의 기후학적 특성 연구 (CLIMATOLOGICAL CHARACTERISTICS OF THE POLAR IONOSPHERE BASED ON THE SONDRESTROM INCOHERENT SCATTER RADAR MEASUREMENTS)

  • 전리층의 전기 전도도와 전기장을 구함으로써 극지방 전리층의 기후학적 특성을 살펴보았다 이를 위해, 총 109일간의 Sondrestrom 비간섭 산란 레이더 자료를 이용하였다. 전기 전도도와 전기장을 이용하여 전리층 전류 분포를 추정하였고, 구해진 전리층 전류 밀도와 그로 인해 유발되는 지상 지자기 변화를 비교하였다. 또한 지상 지자기 변화(특히, D 성분)에 대한 연자기력선 전류의 효과도 검토되었다. Sondrestrom 상공 전리층에 대한 몇 가지 흥미로운 기후학적 특성을 본 연구로부터 알 수 있었다: (1) 주간의 전기 전도도 분포는 주로 태양 EUV복사에 의한 것이며, 야간에는 미약하다. (2) 극관 영역 전리층의 전기 전도도 분포는, 주간에는 태양 EUV복사에 의한 분포를 보이는 반면, 야간에는 Hall 및 Pedersen 전기 전도도의 시간 평균이 각각 1.6 및 1.2 siemen으로 아주 낮다. (3) 남북 성분 전기장의 최대치가 낮 영역에 나타나는 경향이 있다. 동서 성분 전기장은 Chatanika에 비해 강하다 (4) 동서 성분 전류는 낮 영역에서 강하게 흐른다. 정오 바로 전에 강한 남향 전류가 흐른다. (5) 오로라제트전류와 동시에 관측된 지상 지자기 변화 $({{\Delta}}H)$ 사이에 높은 상관관계를 나타낸다. 하지만 무한판상을 가정한 전류가 크게 과소평가 된다. 또한 ${{\Delta}}H$의 관계보다 더 높게 나타나며, 이것은 연자기력선 전류가 ${\Delta}7$에 영향을 미친다는 것을 의미한다.

  • Although the radioisotope liver scan has primarily been of use in the detection of the intra-hepatic space occupying lesions, there has been an increasing awareness of its use in evaluation of liver function. In this study, the degree of hepatomegaly, changes in shape and mottling radiodensity on each lobe and splenic visualization in the liver scans done with colloidal radiogold were numerically expressed as scores under the arbitrary standard in 210 patients with liver cirrhosis. The clinical value of this scoring system was studied with special regards to the correlation between the radiogold hepatic uptake half time and conventional liver function tests. Following were the results; 1) The normal scan appeared in 6.7% of 210 patients with liver cirrhosis. 2) The colloidal radiogold hepatic uptake half time was abnormally and progressively prolonged in parallel to severity of hepatocellular dysfunction. The mean hepatic uptake half time in cirrhosis showing normal scan was $2.76{\pm}0.73$ minutes. 3) The scoring system was well correlated with the serum albumin and globulin levels, A/G ratio and BSP retention. There was some correlative tendency in alkaline phosphatase activity. 4) There was no correlation with the thymol turbidity test, cholesterol levels, transaminase activities and bilirubin levels. 5) The spleen was visualized in 38.6% of total patients with liver cirrhosis. Excluding normal scans in liver cirrhosis, the spleen was visualized in 41.3%. 6) The scoring system appears to confirm the clinical diagnosis and to give a reliable estimate of the degree of hepatocellular dysfunction in patients with liver cirrhosis.
