In this paper, a small round-ended slot loaded by double ridges on the broad wall of a rectangular waveguide is presented as an element for a waveguide slot-array antenna(WSAA). By properly adjusting the ridge dimension, a resonance of the slot at a desired frequency can be achieved. The resonant length of the proposed slot is about $0.26{\lambda}_0$(free space wave length) at the resonance frequency. The proposed resonant slot has some advantageous properties, such as small size, small resonant conductance, and short and stable resonant slot length. In addition, the characteristics of the slots are slightly affected by the adjacent elements when the slots are arrayed for a waveguide slot antenna. A $4{\times}1$ WSAA with -20 dB side-lobe level(SLL) is designed, fabricated, and tested experimentally. The measured results are well agreed with the simulated ones and have an SLL of -15.9 dB and a half-power beam width of $110.2^{\circ}$ in the E-plane and $21.2^{\circ}$ in the H-plane, respectively, at 9.41 GHz.

The 3D building modeling is one of crucial components in building 3D geospatial information. The existing methods for 3D building modeling depend mainly on manual photogrammetric processes by stereoplotter compiler, which indeed take great amount of time and efforts. In addition, some automatic methods that were proposed in research papers and experimental trials have limitations of describing the details of buildings with lack of geometric accuracy. It is essential in automatic fashion that the boundary and shape of buildings should be drawn effortlessly by a sophisticated algorithm. In recent years, airborne LiDAR data representing earth surface in 3D has been utilized in many different fields. However, it is still in technical difficulties for clean and correct boundary extraction without human intervention. The usage of airborne LiDAR data will be much feasible to reconstruct the roof tops of buildings whose boundary lines could be taken out from existing digital maps. The paper proposed a method to reconstruct the roof tops of buildings using airborne LiDAR data with building boundary lines from digital map. The primary process is to perform octree-based segmentation to airborne LiDAR data recursively in 3D space till there are no more airborne LiDAR points to be segmented. Once the octree-based segmentation has been completed, each segmented patch is thereafter merged based on geometric spatial characteristics. The experimental results showed that the proposed method were capable of extracting various building roof components such as plane, gable, polyhedric and curved surface.
The crystal structures of $Cd_6-A$ evacuated at $2{\times}10^{-6}$ Torr and 750$^{\circ}$C (a=12.216(l) ${\AA}$), and of the product of its reaction with Rb vapor (a= 12.187(l) ${\AA}$), have been determined by single-crystal x-ray diffraction techniques in the cubic space group Pm$\bar{3}$m at 21(l)$^{\circ}$C. Their structures were refined to the final error indices, $R_1$=0.055 and $R_2$=0.067 with 191 reflections, and $R_1$=0.066 and $R_2$=0.049 with 90 reflections, respectively, for which I>3${\sigma}$(I). In dehydrated $Cd_6-A$, six $Cd^{2+}$ ions are found at two different threefold-axis sites near six-oxygen ring centers. Four $Cd^{2+}$ ions are recessed 0.50 ${\AA}$ into the sodalite cavity from the (111) plane at O(3), and the other two extend 0.28 ${\AA}$ into the large cavity from this plane. Treatment at 250 $^{\circ}$C with 0.1 Torr of Rb vapor reduces all $Cd^{2+}$ ions to give $Rb_{13.5^-}$A. Rb species are found at three crystallographic sites: three $Rb^+$ ions lie at eight-oxygen-ring centers, filling that position, and ca. 10.5 $Rb^+$ ions lie on threefold axes, 8.0 in the large cavity and 2.5 in the sodalite cavity. In this structure, ca. 1.5 Rb species more than the 12 $Rb^+$ ions needed to balance the anionic charge of zeolite framework are found, indicating that sorption of $Rb^0$ has occurred. The occupancies observed can be most simply explained by two "unit cell" compositions, $Rb_{12^-}A{\cdot}Rb$ and $Rb_{12^-}A{\cdot}2Rb$, of approximately equal population. In sodalite cavities, $Rb_{12^-}A{\cdot}Rb$ would have a $(Rb_2)^+$ cluster and $Rb_{12^-}A{\cdot}2Rb$ would have a triangular $(Rb_3)^+$ cluster. Each of the atoms of these clusters must bind further through a six-oxygen ring to a large cavity $Rb^+$ to give $(Rb_4)^{3+}$ (linear) and $(Rb_6)^{4+}$ (trigonal). Other unit-cell compositions and other cationic cluster compositions such as $(Rb_8)^{n+}$ may exist.

Teeth wear with loss of posterior support often leads to symptoms such as irregular occlusal plane and excessive wear of anterior teeth. In such environment, establishing proper posterior support and harmonious anterior guidance and occlusal plane is recommended. In this case, the patient had excessively worn dentition with loss of posterior support, while denying surgical treatment due to her(his) history of osteoporosis, ibandronate injection, and risk of medication-related osteonecrosis of the jaw (MRONJ). To recover the vertical space needed for prosthetic restoration, full mouth rehabilitation with vertical dimension increase of remaining teeth was decided. Missing teeth in the posterior area were restored with mandibular removable partial denture. The treatment plan was determined through careful diagnosis, and every step of procedures including tooth preparation, provisional phase with the increased vertical dimension, and definitive prosthetic phase were carried out accordingly. Once the treatment was completed, the patient was satisfied functionally and esthetically. Periodic examination of oral hygiene, occlusal stability was conducted.
Recently, with the development of computer graphics technology, research on technology for expressing real objects as more realistic virtual graphics is being actively conducted. Point cloud is a technology that uses numerous points, including 2D spatial coordinates and color information, to represent 3D objects, and they require huge data storage and high-performance computing devices to provide various services. Video-based Point Cloud Compression (V-PCC) technology is currently being studied by the international standard organization MPEG, which is a projection based method that projects point cloud into 2D plane, and then compresses them using 2D video codecs. V-PCC technology compresses point cloud objects using 2D images such as Occupancy map, Geometry image, Attribute image, and other auxiliary information that includes the relationship between 2D plane and 3D space. When increasing the density of point cloud or expanding an object, 3D calculation is generally used, but there are limitations in that the calculation method is complicated, requires a lot of time, and it is difficult to determine the correct location of a new point. This paper proposes a method to generate additional points at more accurate locations with less computation by applying 2D interpolation to the image on which the point cloud is projected, in the V-PCC technology.
This study was performed to investigate the morophological and positional correlation between the upper cervical vertebra, the oral structures and the pharyngeal tissues, and the correlation of these anatomical structures with dental features, such as teeth wear area nad tooth contact status, etc. Seventy patients with temporamandibular disorders and sixty three dental students without any signs and symptoms in head and neck region were selected for this study. All they had natural dentition without any fixed and removable protheses. Teeth wear area and arch width wre measured from the upper dental cast, tooth contact status were observed by T-Scan system$^\textregistered$ and four cephaloradiograpohs were taken from four head postures, namely, natural(NHP), forward(FHP), upward(UHP), and downward head postiure(DHP). 22 cephalometric items were measured on the films and the data were processed with SAS statistical program. The result of this study were as follows : 1. In normal group, angle of cervical vertebra tangent and of between hard and soft palate were broader in female subjects than those in male subjacets, but distance from subocciput to axis, size of soft palate, and pharyngeal space width were larger in male subjects. 2. In normal group with natural head posture, the items correlated each others from the three anatomical regions were distance between first nad second vertebra in posterior part, distance from the lingual surface of lower anterior teeth to anterior surface of soft palate, and distance from the hyoid bone to third vertebra. 3. Three set of items showed significant correlation each other in the four head postures in normal group. First set was the angle between hard and soft palate and the idstance from subocciput to posterior arch of first vertebra, second set was the distance between first and second vertebra in posterior part and the teeth wear area, third set was number and force of tooth contact and length of soft palate and distance from anterior tip of hyoid bone to mandibular plane.

In this study, the front side member is optimized using a topography optimization technique. Optimization of a simple beam is conducted before optimization of the front side member. The objective function is set to minimize the first buckling factor in the longitudinal direction. The design variable corresponds to the perturbation of nodes normal to the shell's mid-plane space. The crash analysis is conducted on a simple beam, which is optimized by Response Surface Method and the topography optimization technique. In order to verify the topography optimization technique, the results of the RSM and topography optimization model are compared. Consequently, we confirm the satisfactory performance of the topography optimization technique, and apply this topography optimization to the front side member. Thus, the front side member is optimized and its crashworthiness is increased.
This paper compares the two- and three-dimensional (2D and 3D) approaches for the numerical determination of the equivalent mechanical properties of fractured rock masses. Both orthogonally-fractured model and discrete fracture networks (DFN) were used for the geometry and 2D models were cut in various directions from 3D model to compare their mechanical properties. Geological data were loosely based on the data available from Sellafield, UK. Analytical method based on compliance tensor transformation was used for investigation in orthogonally fractured rock and numerical experiments were conducted on fractured rock mass with DFN geometry. It is shown that 2D approach always overestimates the elastic modulus of fractured rock masses by a factor of up to around two because fractures are assumed to be perpendicular to the model plane in 2D problems. Poisson ratios tend to have larger values in 2D analysis while there is opposite trend in some sections. The study quantitatively demonstrates the limitation of the 2D approach that uses the simplified model from true 3D geometry.

Magnitude/phase controlling circuit which is composed of attenuator and phase shifter make phase/gain cross-coupling, so too much tuning time is needed to find optimum operation point. In this paper, vector attenuator which control magnitude and phase of input signals is proposed. Vector attenuator in past ignores phase variation characteristics of attenuator, but vector attenuator of this paper compensates phase variation characteristics of attenuator. This vector attenuator consists of 0$^{\circ}$/180$^{\circ}$ phase shifter and low phase shifting attenuator and so forth. A 0$^{\circ}$/180$^{\circ}$ phase shifter has 0$^{\circ}$/179.9$^{\circ}$ phase shifting characteristics at a center frequency 881 MHz and a low phase shifting attenuator has an attenuation of 25dB, within the limit of 3.6$^{\circ}$ phase shift and less than -20dB reflection characteristics at both input and output ports. The designed vector attenuator shows that cartesian coordinate plane of output signal space can be represented correctly.

A systematic design approach for Power distribution network (PDN) is presented aiming at applications to DRAM module designs. Three main stages are comprised in this design approach: modeling and simulation of a PDN based on a two-dimensional transmission line structure employing a partial element equivalent circuit (PEEC); verification of the simulation results through comparison to measured values; and design space scanning with PDN parameters. Impedance characteristics for do-coupling capacitors are analyzed to devise an effective way to stabilize power and ground plane Performance within a target level of disturbances. Self-impedance and transfer-impedance are studied in terms of distance between circuit features and the size of do-coupling capacitors. A simple equation has been derived to find the do-coupling capacitance values yielding impedance lower than design target, and thereby reducing the overall computation time. The effectiveness of the design methodology has been demonstrated using a DRAM module with discrete do-coupling capacitors and a strip structure.
