The requirements for high productivity and good welding qualities have lead to the development of more widely available microprocessor or computer based control. In this study, the inverter-type power source and welding servo gun are developed.

  • Despite it's limitations, the existing Stream Line Tracing Method(Inverse Method) can be applied effectively to the design of better hull forms with practical proportions. Most of the calculating mechanism by the method for hull form design has been achieved. In this paper, authors have tried to improve the quality of wave making resistance on the 10,000GT liner among FY'67 Korean Standard Ship Form. Some numerical results obtained in this work and designed new lines are shown.

  • A target bacterial strain of interest for use in Red-based recombineering may already encode resistance to antibiotic markers used with current Red recombination tools, such that the resistance cannot be removed. Such cases include those where markers are needed to maintain an unstable genetic element co-resident in the strain or those where the genetic source of resistance is not known. We report the availability of PCR templates with FRT-flanked mutagenesis cassettes and plasmids encoding Red recombination functions that contain marker combinations not currently available on widely disseminated lambda Red molecular reagents. The functionality of these convenient alternative tools is demonstrated.

Phenazine 1-carboxylic acid resistance in phenazine 1-carboxylic acid producing Bacillus sp. B-6

  • Phenazine 1-carboxylic acid (PCA) is an antifungal antibiotic isolated from a culture filtrate of Bacillus sp. B-6 producing an acyl CoA synthetase inhibitor. This antibiotic is reported as an inhibitor of an acyl CoA synthetase from Pseudomonas sp.. Bacillus sp. B-6 was resistant to PCA up to 350 ${\mu}g/ml$. We investigated the mechanism of the resistance of Bacillus sp. B-6 to PCA. The rate of growth in a medium containing up to 100 ${\mu}g/ml$ was as rapid as the PCA-free medium. At a PCA concentration of 300 ${\mu}g/ml$, the growth rate was more than half that of the control. In this work, we purified acyl CoA synthetase from Bacillus sp. B-6 and found that this acyl CoA synthetase was much less sensitive to PCA than the acyl CoA synthetase from other source. These findings suggested that the insensitivity of Bacillus sp. B-6 acyl CoA synthetase plays an important role in the PCA resistance of this bacterium.

  • The luminance and operating voltage were measured during OLED operation for the purpose of analyzing the efficiency and change of internal resistance. The half lifetime of OLED was affected by degradation of OLED due to heat generated by ambient temperature and self heating. The operating voltage constantly increased due to the increase of internal resistance. The half lifetime of OLED driven by constant current source was found to be longer than that of the OELD driven by constant voltage and the reasons were clearly explained in this paper.

  • We enhanced the conductivity of PEDOT-PSS by mixing with glycerol and fabricated the low contact resistance of source and drain[S/D] electrodes of OTFT with PEDOT-PSS by ink-jetting printing. The contact resistance was much smaller by seven times than Au with $200k{\Omega}$ at $V_G=-5V$. For the bottom contacted OTFTs, the performance was comparable to OTFTs with Au electrodes with the field effect mobility of $0.2\;cm^2/V s$.

Numerical Analysis on the Wave Resistance for Development of Ship`s From of Tuna Purse Seiner (참치 선망어선의 선형개발을 위한 조파저항의 수치해석)

  • The purpose of the present research is to develop an efficient numerical method for the calculation of potential flow and predict the wave-making resistance for the application to ship design of tuna purse seiner. The paper deals with the numerical calculation of potential flow around the series 60 with forward velocity by the new slender ship theory. This new slender ship theory is based on the asymptotic expression of the Kelvin-source, distributed over the small matrix at each transverse section so as to satisfy the approximate hull boundary condition due to the assumption of slender body. Some numerical results for series 60, C sub(b) =0.6, hull are presented in this paper. The wave pattern and wave resistance are computed at two Froude numbers, 0.267 and 0.304. These results are better than those of Michell's thin ship theory in comparison with measured results. However, it costs much time to compute not only wave resistance but also wave pattern over some range of Froude numbers. More improvements are strongly desired in the numerical procedure.

  • An active capacitance circuit is analyzed in depth and its application to active RF BPF with low noise figure is discussed. The characteristics of the active capacitance circuit made of FET[1] exhibits negative resistance and conventional capacitance, which is easily controlled. However, it is difficult to make the negative resistance adequate in the designated frequency range due to the lack of detailed analysis, which could make an active circuit unstable as the frequency is going higher or lower. In this paper, we analyzed the negative resistance characteristics of active capacitance circuits and also presented the method that the flatness of passband can be controlled. Finally we have designed a 4-stage active BPE, which results in bandwidth of 100 MHz, 0,04 dB insertion loss, 0.2 dB ripple, and noise figure of 2.4 dB at 1.75 GHz band.

  • We measured the transport properties of$ YBa_2$$Cu_3$$O_{x}$ ramp-edge junction fabricated with interface-engineered barrier. The current-voltage characteristics show a typical resistively-shunted junction like behavior Voltage noise measurement revealed that the main source of the 1/f noise is the critical current and resistance fluctuations. The analysis of the noise data showed that the critical current fluctuations increase with temperature, whereas the resistance fluctuations are almost constant, and both fluctuations are almost correlated. The smaller magnitude of the critical current and resistance fluctuations seems to result from the columnar-deflects.s.
