Co(II)-tetrasulfonated phthalocyanine (CoTSP) is known to be aggregated to dimer at high concentration levels in water. A study on the aggregation of CoTSP using multivariate curve resolution analysis of the visible absorbance spectra over a concentration range of 30, 40 and 50 ${\mu}M$ in the presence of dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO), dimethyl formamide (DMF), acetonitrile (AN) and ethanol (EtOH) in the concentration range of 0 to 3.57 M is conducted. A hard modeling-based multivariate curve resolution method was applied to determine the dissociation constants of the CoTSP aggregates at various temperatures ranging from 25, 45 and $65^{\circ}C$ and in the presence of various co-solvents. Dissociation constant for aggregation was increased and then decrease by temperature and concentration of phthalocyanine, respectively. Utilizing the vant Hoff relation, the enthalpy and entropy of the dissociation equilibriums were calculated. For the dissociation of both aggregates, the enthalpy and entropy changes were positive and negative, respectively. Molecular dynamics simulation of cosolvent effect on CoTSP aggregation was done to confirm spectroscopy results. Results of radial distribution function (RDF), root mean square deviation (RMSD) and distance curves confirmed more effect of polar solvent to decrease monomer formation.
The polymeric matrices made with poly(D,L-lactide-co-glycolide) were prepared using copolymer of poly(D,L-lactide) and poly(ethylene glycol) for application of drug delivery systems. Catalyst made use of stannous actoate. Particle size were differ greatly$(435.3{\pm}11.2{\sim}2284.1{\pm}188.5)$ that nanoparticle made use of according to solvent of various kinds. Polymer could a sharp distinction with copolymerized among LE-1, LE-2 and LE-3 of PLA and PEG of content that to examine $^1H-NMR$ of copolymer make refine and reprecipitation. Drug delivery effect at PLGA nanoparticle : PLA amount more then proved highly drug delivery amount that each LE-1, LE-2, LE-3, drug and solvent was 40mg, 20mg and 10mg. Drug delivery effect proved higher 20mg that change(10mg, 20mg, 40mg) at drug feeding amount with LE-2. The first a lot of drug proved delivery. LE-3 most lactide content proved much delivery since biodegradable on PLGA copolymer result from lactide. Also biodegradable rate was highest at LE-3 much of lactide content, because influence at biodegradable effect of lactide by inclusive of soft PEG.
Inkjet technology has various merits as a direct patterning process in plenty of industrial applications, but critical issue such as coffee ring effect should be overcome for the application to an industrial manufacturing process. In this paper, we introduced the morphological analysis of inkjet printed pattrerns on the characristics of inks and substrates. In case of Triethlene Glycol Monoethly Ether based ink, the coffee ring effect was observed. However, an ethanol based ink showed the round shaped morphology under the same printing conditions and surface conditions. An ink consisted of the solvent with high boiling point results in coffee ring effect. This experimental results showed that the morphological change of the printed droplet is caused by the main solvent of ink, rather than the metal content, viscosity and surface tension.

The aim of this investigation was to evaluate antioxidant activity of crude extracts from the halophyte Vitex rotundifolia, their solvent fractions, and isolated compounds (1-3). Antioxidant capacity was determined by measuring DPPH radical, and authentic $ONOO^-$ and $ONOO^-$ generated from 3- morpholinsydnonimine (SIN-1) in vitro as well as degree of occurrence of intracellular ROS, NO and GSH in mouse macrophage Raw 264.7 cells. From comparative analysis, MeOH extract, n-BuOH, and 85% aq. MeOH solvent fractions showed significant antioxidant effect in DPPH radical and $ONOO^-$ assay systems. Activity-guided purification of n-BuOH and 85% aq. MeOH fractions led to the isolation of flavonoids 1-3. Among them, compound 1 exhibited excellent antioxidant effect in all bioassay systems tested. On the other hand, compounds 2 and 3 revealed potent inhibitory effect against $ONOO^-$ generated from SIN-1, comparable with the positive control penicillamine.
A kinetic study is reported on nucleophilic substitution reactions of 4-nitrophenyl nicotinate (7) and 4-nitrophenyl isonicotinate (8) with a series of cyclic secondary amines in $H_2O$ containing 20 mol % DMSO at $25.0^{\circ}C$. The Br${\o}$nsted-type plots for the reactions of 7 and 8 are linear with ${\beta}_{nuc}=0.90$ and 0.92, respectively, indicating that the reactions proceed through a stepwise mechanism with expulsion of the leaving group occurring in the rate-determining step. Comparison of the reactivity of 7 and 8 with that of 4-nitrophenyl benzoate (2a) and 4-nitrophenyl picolinate (6) has revealed that their reactivity toward the amines increases in the order 2a < 7 < 8 < 6, although the reactions of these substrates proceed through the same mechanism. Factors that control reactivity and reaction mechanism have been discussed in detail (e.g., inductive and field effects, H-bonding interaction, solvent effect, etc.).

Objective : In this study, the effect of Atractylodes japonica against LPS induced inflammation in mouse microglia BV2 cells was investigated. Method : Microglia BV2 Cells viability was determined using the MTT assay. We used water, ethanol extract from Atractylodes japonica and studied on the anti-inflammatory effect of lipopolysaccharide-induced inflammation using reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR), western blot, and nitric oxide detection on mouse microglia BV2 cells. Result : The MTT assay revealed that it's extract has no significant cytotoxicity in the microglia BV2 cell. Various solvent extract from Atractylodes japonica inhibited nitrite production, iNOS protein and mRNA expression levels. And also it's extracts significantly reduced lipopolysaccharide-induced COX-2 activation in RT-PCR and western blot in lipopolysaccharide-induced microglia BV2 cells Conclusion : In this study, it's extracts was shown to suppress NO production by inhibiting iNOS expression and COX-2 activity. With this effects of anti-inflammation, we suggests that, it's extracts may be a useful candidate for the development of a drug on the related inflammatory diseases in brain.

Ethyl acetate and butanol fractions among the serial solvent fractions of grape seed ethanol extract contained the catechin at the levels of 35.7 mg/g and 20.2 mg/g, respectively However, the POV increasing patterns of two linoleic acid samples containing each solvent fraction were so similar that the difference in antioxidant activity by the catechin content of each solvent fraction could not be found. Each solvent fraction was fractionated on C18 cartridges into three subfractions which were mono-, dimers fraction (FI), oligomers fraction (FII) and polymers fraction (FIII) to examine the effect by the difference in degree of Polymerization of proanthocyanidin. The catechin contents of ethyl acetate subfractions (E-F) were in the order of E-FI (26.0 mg/g) > E-FII (18.6 mg/g) > E-FIII (13.7 mg/g) but the three subfractions showed nearly similar antioxidant activities, by the POV measurement at 1,000 ppm concentration. Also the catechin contents of butanol subfractions (B-F) were in the order of B-FI (35.3 mg/g) > B-FII (30.8 mg/g) > B-FIII (22.7 mg/g) but similar antioxidant activities were observed in all subfractions. In this study, similar antioxidant activities of each solvent subfraction in spite of different catechin contents inform that the degree of polymerization of proanthocyanidin as well as the total catechin content should be considered in quality control of grape seed extract produced for natural antioxidant.
A study on the volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and low molecular weight (LMW) amount which is contained within bisphenol A polycarbonate (PC) was performed by the solvent extraction with ketone type solvents (acetone, butanone, pentanone). The LMW amount of untreated PC was 2.6 wt%, but the values of treated samples with acetone and pentanone were 0.96 and 1.53 wt%, respectively. Acetone is a more effective solvent than pentanone on the LMW extraction. Methylene chloride (MC) and toluene were certified and quantified by GC-Mass experiments, and the quantitative results indicated the fact that the pentanone was the effective solvent on VOC extraction. Focused on the change of VOCs and LMW amount, the use of co-solvent might be more useful, and the experimental results of co-solvent extraction showed that the optimum condition was 50 : 50 volume percent.
Phase behavior of the ternary systems of water-insoluble simvastatin drug, which is well known to be effective drugs for hypercholesterolemia therapy, in solvent mixtures of dichloromethane and supercritical carbon dioxide was investigated to present a guideline of establishing operating conditions in the particle formation of the drugs by a supercritical anti-solvent recrystallization process utilizing dichloromethane as a solvent and carbon dioxide as an anti-solvent. The solubilities of simvastatin in the mixtures of dichloromethane and carbon dioxide were determined as functions of temperature, pressure and solvent composition by measuring the cloud points of the ternary mixtures at various conditions using a high-pressure phase equilibrium apparatus equipped with a variable-volume view cell. The solubility of the drug increased as the dichloromethane composition in solution and the system pressure increases at a fixed temperature. A lower solubility of the drug was obtained at a higher temperature. The second half of this work is focused on the particle formation of the simvastatin drug by a supercritical anti-solvent recrystallization process in a cylindrical high-pressure vessel equipped with an impeller. Microparticles of the simvastatin drug were prepared as functions of pressure (8 MPa to 12 MPa), temperature (303.15 K, 313,15 K), feed flow rate of carbon dioxide, and stirring speed (up to 3000 rpm), in order to observe the effect of those process parameters on the size and shape of the drug microparticles recrystallized.
To estimate the effect of the surface state of the EVA foam on an adhesion, the surface was treated with solvents having different values of a solubility parameter and a surface tension. The morphology and the contact angle were measured by SEM and contact angle tester, respectively. The value of the critical surface tension(${\gamma}_{c,0}$) of the EVA foam calculated by Zismann plot was 27.08 dyne/cm. The surface state and the ${\gamma}_c$ of the EVA foam were changed by solvent treatment. The swelling ratio of EVA foam was influenced by solubility parameter of a solvent, on the other hand the degree of change in the surface state was dependent on a surface tension of a solvent. When a surface tension of solvent. When a surface tension of solvent is lower than ${\gamma}_{c,0}$ of the EVA foam, the wettability of a solvent was good and the surface state was greatly changed. The adhesion strength of EVA foam was greatly improved to above 600% as compared to that of the untreated one. As the ${\gamma}_c$ of EVA was closed to the surface tension of the primer, the good adhesion strength was obtained.
