Hybrid Sol을 이용한 박막 유전체 제작 (Fabrication of Thin Film Dielectric by Hybrid Sol)

  • The purpose of this study is to evaluate the thin fihn dielectric made of hybrid sol, which consist of barium titanate powder, polymeric sol and other polymers. This sol will be used dielectric applied to small, thin electric passive components such as MLCC(Multi Layer Ceramic Condenser), resister, inductor. This sol is composed of mixed fine barium titanate powder and polymeric sol including Ba, Ti-precursor, solvent, chelating agent, chemical reaction catalyst, the additive sols to improve fired densification and temperature reliability. First at all, we mixed hybrid sol to be dispersed and be stabilized by ball milling for 24hrs. By spin coating method, we makes thin film dielectric on the convectional green sheet for MLCC. After heat treatments, we analyzes the structure morphology, physical, electrical properties and X5R Temperature properties.

REMOVAL OF DISSOLVED OXYGEN USING PVDF HOLLOW FIBER MEMBRANE CONTACTOR

  • The removal of dissolved oxygen(DO) from water was studied using a poly(vinyliene fluoride)(PVDF) hollow fiber membrane contactor(HFMC) with the vacuum degassing process(VDP), Asymmetric porous PVDF hollow fiber membranes (HFM) for membrane contactor were prepared by a wet phase inversion method. In spinning of these PVDF hollow fibers, dimethy lacetamide (DMAc), LiCl and pure water were used as a solvent, a pore-forming additive and internal/external coagulant, respectively. The characteristics of the structure(pore size, porosity etc.) of the prepared PVDF HFMs as a function of concentration of pore-forming additive in polymer dope solution were studied. Also, the removal efficiency of DO from water according to flow rates of water, using PVDF HFMC with VDP, was studied. The performance of the asymmetric porous PVDF HFMC and a symmetric porous PP HFMC commercialized were compared. As a result, the asymmetric porous PVDF HFMC showed higher removal efficiency of DO than that of a symmetric porous PP HFMC.

Preparation of melamine-grafted graphene oxide and evaluation of its efficacy as a flame retardant additive for polypropylene

  • The present study aimed to prepare a novel efficient flame retardant additive for polypropylene. The new flame retardant was prepared by chemical grafting of melamine to graphene oxide with the aid of thionyl chloride. Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy and thermogravimetric analysis proved that melamine had been successfully grafted to the graphene oxide. The modified graphene oxide was incorporated into polypropylene via solution mixing followed by anti-solvent precipitatio. Homogeneous distribution as well as exfoliation of the nanoplatelets in the polymer matrix was observed using transmission electron microscopy. Thermogravimetric analysis showed a significant improvement in the thermo-oxidative stability of the polymer after incorporating 2 wt% of the modified graphene oxide. The modified graphene oxide also enhanced the limiting oxygen index of the polymer. However, the amount of improvement was not enough for the polymer to be ranked as a self-extinguishing material. Cone calorimetry showed that incorporating 2 wt% of the modified graphene oxide lowered total heat release and the average production rate of carbon monoxide during burning of the polymer by as much as 40 and 35%, respectively. Hence, it was concluded that the new flame retardant can retard burning of the polymer efficiently and profoundly reduce suffocation risk of exposure to burning polymer byproducts.

겔 캐스팅 공정을 위한 알루미나 슬러리에서의 첨가제 함량 변화에 따른 겔화특성 평가 (Evaluation of Gelation Characteristics with The Variation of Additive Contents in The Alumina Slurry for Gel Casting Process)

  • Recently, the use of high-tech ceramic parts in functional electronic parts, automobile parts and semiconductor equipment parts is increasing. These ceramics materials are required to have high reproducibility, reliability, large size and complex shapes. The researchers initiated the work to develop a new shaping method called gel casting, which allows high performance ceramic materials with a complex shape to be produced. The manufacturing process parameters of gel casting include uniform mixing of the initiator, bubble removal, and slip injection. In this study, we analyzed the dispersion and gelation characteristics according to the change in the additive content of the alumina slurry in the gel casting process. The alumina slurry for gel casting was prepared by mixing a solvent, a monomer and a dispersant through a ball mill. Alumina powder and a gelation initiator were added to the mixed solution, and ball milling was performed for 24 hours. A viscosity of 6,435 cps and a stable zeta potential value were obtained under the conditions of alumina powder content of 55 vol% and dispersant 2.0 wt%. After curing for 12 hours by adding aps 0.1wt%, TEMED 0.2wt%, and Monomer 3, 5wt%, it was possible to separate from the molding cup, confirming that the gelation was completed.

비이온계 첨가제에 의한 폴리술폰계 중공사 막의 모폴로지 조절과 기체투과 특성 (Effect of Non-ionic Additive on Morphology and Gas Permeation Properties of Polysulfone Hollow Fiber Membrane)

  • 기체분리용 분리막의 투과성능을 향상시키기 위해 비이온성 첨가제로 Triton X-100을 사용하여 건습식 상분리법에 의하여 polysulfone 중공사 막을 제조하였으며, 첨가제에 따른 기체투과 거동의 변화를 관찰하였다. 또한 에어갭, 고분자의 농도, 도프탱크 온도와 같은 다양한 방사 조건을 조절하여 그 영향을 관찰하였다. 제조된 중공사 막은 전자주사현미경(SEM)과 bubble flow meter를 통해 각각 모폴로지와 기체투과 특성에 대한 평가를 실시하였다. SEM 분석을 통해 Triton X-100이 첨가된 막은 다양한 에어갭에서도 매끄러운 외부 스킨층을 가지는 것을 확인하였다. 중공사 막의 거대기공은 에어갭이 4에서 90 cm로 증가함에 따라 더욱 발달하며, 높은 투과도를 나타내는 것을 확인하였다. 또한 상대적으로 낮은 고분자 농도(30 wt% polysulfone)와 높은 첨가제 농도(15 wt% Triton X-100) 조건에서 높은 투과도를 나타내었다. 도프 탱크 온도를 조절하였을 때, $100^{\circ}C$에서 제조된 막은 첨가제와 용매의 휘발로 인해 낮은 투과특성을 나타냈다.

금속 불화물 첨가제가 α-알루미나 입자생성에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Metal Fluoride on the Formation of α-Alumina Particles)

  • 질산 알루미늄과 암모니아 용액을 출발물질로 하고 또한 금속 불화물을 첨가제로 사용하여 $\alpha$-알루미나 입자를 침전법으로 제조하였다. 이 때 제조과정에서 사용된 용매의 영향과 $AlF_3$, $CaF_2$, $MnF_2$ 등의 3 가지 금속 불화물 첨가제가 $\alpha$-알루미나로의 상전이 온도, 입자 크기 및 형태 등에 미치는 영향에 대해 조사하였다. $\alpha$-알루미나 제조시 사용된 용매는 상전이 온도에는 큰 영향을 미치지 않는 반면 입자 크기에 영향을 미쳤다. 첨가제 조성에 따라 $\alpha$-알루미나 상전이 온도가 차이가 났으나($AlF_3(800^{\circ}C)$ < $MnF_2(900^{\circ}C)$ < $CaF_2(950^{\circ}C)$), 첨가제를 사용하지 않은 경우($1,100^{\circ}C$)보다는 모두 상전이 온도가 낮음을 알 수 있었다. 3 가지 첨가제를 사용한 경우 모두 판상의 $\alpha$-알루미나 입자들이 얻어졌으나, 그 중 $MnF_2$를 첨가한 경우에 가장 작은 크기의 $\alpha$-알루미나 입자들이 생성되었다.

한의학 고문헌의 단방용례 분석을 통한 천문동의 기대효능 연구 (Study on the expected efficacies of the Asparagi Tuber by analysis of single-medicine prescriptions on the Korean medicinal literatures)

  • We referred to twenty-two Korean medicinal literatures for application of a single-medicine prescription using Asparagi Tuber(Asparagus cochinchinensis) to form the groundwork for scientific modernization of Korean medicine. Our study revealed the following. 1. Principle expectant effects of Asparagi Tuber were prolong life; elevation of stamina or activity; improvement of asthenia; remedy of epilepsy, mental disease or convulsions; relief of xerosis; treatment of tumor, abscess or intumescence; extermination of endoparasite; solution of numbness, etc. 2. The records show that 95% of directions are per oral. 3. 38% of the cases, Asparagi Tuber was used without its jacket or core. 4. Alcohol and honey were generally used as solvent and additive. We suggest to perform the further studies for the scientific verification of the expectant effects of Asparagi Tuber and its different efficacy by processing, solvent and additives.

Biochemical Characterization of a Novel Alkaline and Detergent Stable Protease from Aeromonas veronii OB3

  • An organic solvent- and bleach-stable protease-producing strain was isolated from a polluted river water sample and identified as Aeromonas veronii OB3 on the basis of biochemical properties (API 20E) and 16S rRNA sequence analysis. The strain was found to hyper-produce alkaline protease when cultivated on fish waste powder-based medium (HVSP, 4080 U/ml). The biochemical properties and compatibility of OB3 with several detergents and additives were studied. Maximum activity was observed at pH 9.0 and 60℃. The crude protease displayed outstanding stability to the investigated surfactants and oxidants, such as Tween 80, Triton X-100, and H2O2, and almost 36% residual activity when incubated with 1% SDS. Remarkably, the enzyme demonstrated considerable compatibility with commercial detergents, retaining more than 100% of its activity with Ariel and Tide (1 h, 40℃). Moreover, washing performance of Tide significantly improved by the supplementation of small amounts of OB3 crude protease. These properties suggest the potential use of this alkaline protease as a bio-additive in the detergent industry and other biotechnological processes such as peptide synthesis.

Formation and Related-Behavior of Micro-bowl Morphology Consisting of Ionic Palladium(II) Complexes

  • Reaction of [(bpy)Pd]$(PF_6)_2$ (bpy = 2,2'-bipyridine) with racemic bis(isonicotinoyl)-1,1'-bi-2-naphtholate (L) in acetone, and followed by addition of chloroform and solvent evaporation allows to form amorphous micro-bowl morphology consisting of $[(bpy)PdL]_2(PF_6)_4$ without any template or additive. In contrast, the reaction and recrystallization in acetone for 1 week produce parallel-piped single crystals consisting of $[(bpy)_3Pd_3({\mu}_3-HPO_4)_2](PF_6)_2$. The formations of micro-bowl and parallel-piped single crystal morphologies appear to be primarily associated with the kinetic and thermodynamic control, respectively. The formation of micro-bowls may be attributed to eruption of organic solvents. Cosolvent effects and chemical properties on the formation of micro-bowl morphology have been observed.

Nafion 기반 IPMC 응용 및 개발 동향 (Trends of Nafion-based IPMC Application and Development)

  • Recently, polymer-metal composite (IPMC)-based ionic artificial muscle has been drawing a huge attention for its excellent soft actuator performance having outstanding soft actuator performance with efficient conversion of electrical energy to mechanical energy under low working voltage. In addition, light, flexible and soft nature of IPMC and high bending strain response enabled development of versatile sensor application in association with soft actuator. In this paper, current issues of IPMC were discussed including standardizing preparation steps, relaxation under DC bias, inhibiting solvent evaporation, and improving poor output force. Solutions for these drawbacks of IPMC have recently been suggested in recent studies. After following explanation of the IPMC working mechanism, we investigate the main factors that affect the operating performance of the IPMC. Then, we reviewed the optimized IPMC actuator fabrication conditions especially for the preparation process, additive selection for a thicker membrane, water content, solvent substitutes, encapsulation, etc. Lastly, we considered the pros and cons of IPMCs for sensor application in a theoretical and experimental point of view. The strategies discussed in this paper to overcome such deficiencies of IPMCs are highly expected to provide a scope for IPMC utilization in soft robotics application.
