  • This article describes the useful way to measure the torque and RPM of the geared motor. For this, we have made the planetary geared reduction motor including the torque sensor unit which consists of hall effects sensor and permanent magnet. Our monitoring system displays the sensing values (torque, rpm) and the calculated value (power) and it also has the network capability using the Bluetooth protocol. We will show that our solution is much more inexpensive and simple method to measure torque and rpm than before.

  • This paper presents an approach for classifying scheduling problems and selecting a heuristic rule to yield best solution in terms of certain performance measure(s). Classification parameters are employed from previous studies on job shop scheduling and project scheduling. Neural network is used for learning and estimating the performance of heuristic rules. In addition, multi-criteria decision making techniques are employed to combine the preferences for each performance measure and heuristic rule for the problems with multi-objectives.

  • The objectives of this paper are to measure the concentration of $H_2$O/LiBr solution by measuring the electrical conductivity and to study the effect of the solution temperature and the concentration on the electrical conductivity of the solution. The solution temperature ranges $20^{\circ},\;40^{\circ},\;and\; 60^{\circ}$ for a fixed concentration during the experiment. The valid ranges of the concentration are two regions, low concentration region (1~20% of LiBr) and high concentration region (55~66% of LiBr). The results show that the conductivity of the solution increases linearly with increasing the solution temperature while it increases without creasing the concentration lower than about 35% of LiBr and decreases with increasing the concentration higher than 35%. This paper proposes experimental correlations for the concentration as functions of the solution temperature and the concentration with error band of $\pm7$% for the low concentration region and $\pm1$% for the high concentration region, respectively. The experimental correlation can be practically used in the on-line measurement without any sampling of solution from the closed system.

  • The present work addresses how to measure the amount of dissolved aluminum in phosphoric acid, based on volumetric and gravimetric measurements of the precipitates formed by reaction between the $H_3PO_4$ solution containing dissolved aluminum ions and 10 % KF solution. The volume of the precipitates increased with dilution of the dissolved aluminum-containing $H_3PO_4$ solution up to 1/4 dilution above which it decreased with further dilution. The lowered amounts of the precipitates at low dilution less than 1/4 and high dilution more than 1/4 are attributed to high acidity of the solution and decreased amount of dissolved aluminum in the solution, respectively. Volumetric measurement of the amount of precipitates was found not to be very reliable with the experiments, while weight measurement of the precipitates after drying for 80 min at $60^{\circ}C$ appeared to be very reproducible. In the present work, it is suggested that the amount of Al dissolved in 85 % $H_3PO_4$ solution can be calculated by multiplying 50 to the weight of precipitate obtained by reacting 8 ml of 1/4 diluted $H_3PO_4$ solution containing dissolved aluminum ions with 6 ml of 10 % KF solution.

  • The general n/m job-shop problem is easy to state what is required, but it is extremely difficult to make any progress whatever toward a solution. This paper was first to examine a heuristic procedure of general n/m scheduling generation focused on the procedure of MWRK (Most Work Remaining) presented by Giffler and Thompson (1960) among others. Then modified procedure was proposed to obtain better solution in light of the key measure of performance compared with that of the literature presented by Baker (1974). The modified procedure then has been extended to other example problem to test the better results and to assure the properness of application.

  • I assessed the B($a$)P content from the Ginseng extract, Red ginseng extract, and Ssangwha extract which have high viscosities. It wasn't easy to extract oil from these samples, consequently measuring of B($a$)P was difficult. In order to know the exact detecting contents, I injected standard material of B($a$)P to the above extractions and pre-treated for measurement but it was also difficult to measure of contents exactly. To improve of detecting method, I removed mucinous materials using a 85% phosphoric acid solution or 10% citric acid solution and then processed continuously with $60^{\circ}C$ hot water. The analysis revealed that extracting the samples contained B($a$)P determined the rate of each 70%, 55%, 67% could increase. As a result the detecting method of B($a$)P contents could be improved.

  • In this paper, a turbidostat model with ratio-dependent growth rate and impulsive state feedback control is considered. We obtain sufficient conditions of the globally asymptotically stable of the system without impulsive state feedback control. We also obtain that the system with impulsive state feedback control has periodic solution of order one. Sufficient conditions for existence and stability of periodic solution of order one are given. In some cases, it is possible that the system exists periodic solution of order two. Our results show that the control measure is effective and reliable.

  • For metal forming analysis, upper-bound solution is a practical method because the solution is overestimated. However it is not easy to determine the stresses on dies by using upper-bound solution. In this study, new scheme to calculate the stresses on dies based on upper bound solution is proposed. In the velocity fields, imaginary velocity is adapted to analyze the normal pressure on die surfaces. To verify the proposed scheme. plane strain drawing has been considered. The stresses on dies obtained by the proposed scheme are compared with the results of rigid plastic FEM and the experimental results. In the experiments, pressure film is used to measure the normal pressure on dies.

  • This paper presents a goal-programming (GP) model for management decision-making for sugarcane fertilizer mix problems. Sensitivity analysis on the priority structure of the goals has been performed to obtain all possible solutions. The study uses Euclidean distance function to measure distances of all possible solutions from the ideal solution. The optimum solution is determined from the minimum distance between the ideal solution and other possible solutions of the problem. The optimum solution corresponds to the appropriate priority structure of the problem in the decision-making context. furthermore, the results obtained from sensitivity analysis on the cost of combination of fertilizers confirm the priority structure.
