  • Zinc oxysulfide nanocrystals (ZnOS NCs) were synthesized by forming ZnS phase on a ZnO matrix. ZnO nanocrystals (NCs) with a diameter of 10 nm were synthesized by forced hydrolysis in an organic solvent. As-synthesized ZnO NCs aggregated with each other due to the high surface energy. As acetic acid (AA) was added into the milky suspension of the aggregated ZnO NCs, transparent solution of well dispersed ZnO NCs formed. Finally ZnOS NCs were formed by adding thioacetic acid (TAA) to the transparent solution. The effect of recrystallization on the structural, optical and electrical properties of the ZnOS NCs were studied. The results of UV-vis absorption confirmed the band gap tunability caused by increasing the curing temperature of ZnOS thin films. This may have originated from the larger effective size due to the recrystallization of zinc sulfide (ZnS). From XRD result we identified that ZnOS thin films have a zinc blende crystal structure of ZnS without wurtzite ZnO structure. This is probably due to the small amount of ZnO phases. These assertions were verified through EDS of FE-SEM, XPS and EDS mapping of HR-TEM results; we clearly proved that ZnOS were comprised of ZnS and ZnO phases.

  • Because of beautiful glossy and color, the value of gold leverage is very high in Europe. For improve the quality of white gold, we performed heat treatment on 14K white gold alloys at various age-hardening conditions. Age-hardening behavior and the related phase transformation changes were studied to elucidate the hardening mechanism of 14K white gold alloys. For solid solution treatment [ST], casted 14K white gold alloy specimens were treated at high temperature ($750^{\circ}C$) during 30 minute, and the specimens dropped to water for quenching immediately. For Age-hardening treatment [AT], the specimens were treated at various temperatures ($250^{\circ}C{\sim}300^{\circ}C$). After the heat treatment, we observed increased hardness from 144 Hv to 214 Hv by Vicker's hardness tester. Variation of the grain size measured by optical microscopy (OM) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) images. By electron probe micro-analysis (EPMA) mapping analysis, we investigated that irregular particles were changed uniformly. After heat treatment, 14K white gold alloys showed improved hardness and became uniformity of grain size by age-hardening treatment.

  • Since the eddy current problem usually depends on the geometry of the moving conductive sheet and the shape of the pole projection area, there is no general method to find out its analytical solution. The analysis of the eddy current in a rotating disk is performed in the case of time-invariant field to find its analytical solution. As a method to solve the eddy current problem, the concept of the Coulomb charge and image method are proposed with the consideration of the boundary condition. Firstly, the line charge is obtained from the volume charge generated in the rotating disk and Coulomb's law is applied. Secondly, the finite disk radius is considered by introducing an imaginary eddy current to satisfy the boundary condition that the radial component of the eddy current is zero at the edge of the relating disk. Thirdly, the braking torque is calculated by applying Lorentz force law. Finally, the computed braking torque is compared with the measured one As a result, it can be said that the proposed model presents fairly accurate results in a low angular velocity range although a large error is observed as the angular velocity of the disk increases.

  • Minimizing the stress concentration around hypotrochoid hole in finite metallic plates under in-plane loading is an important consideration in engineering design. In the analysis of finite metallic plate, the effective factors on stress distribution around holes include curvature radius of the corner of the hole, hole orientation, plate's aspect ratio, and hole size. This paper aims to investigate the impact of these factors on stress analysis of finite metallic plate with central hypotrochoid hole. To obtain the lowest value of stress around a hypotrochoid hole, a swarm intelligence optimization method named ant lion optimizer is used. In this study, with the hypothesis of plane stress circumstances, analytical solution of Muskhelishvili's complex variable method and conformal mapping is employed. The plate is taken into account to be finite, isotropic and linearly elastic. By applying suitable boundary conditions and least square boundary collocation technique, undefined coefficients of stress function are found. The results revealed that by choosing the above-mentioned factor correctly, the lowest value of stress would be obtained around the hole allowing to an increment in load-bearing capacity of the structure.

  • This study was intended to establish test methods equivalent to those of "Interferon alfa-2 concentrated solution" monograph in European Pharmacophoeia(EP). Two recombinant interferon alfa concentrated solutions manufactured in Korea were tested according to the monograph of EP. Tests of identification(biological activity. isoelectric focusing. SDS-PAGE under reducing condition, peptide mapping). related proteins. impurities of moducular masses differing from that of interferon alfa-2(SDS-PAGE under reducing and non-reducing condition). bacterial endotoxin, protein, potency, host-cell-derrved proteins. and host-cell-derived DNA were performed in the laboratories of manufacrues and division of biotechnology. KFDA. The results of this study showed that specitications of interfenon alfa concentrated solutions manufactured in Korea were within the aceptance criteria of EP. Based on the study. specitications and test methods for interferon alfa concentrated solution can be established according to the monograph of EP suggesting the revision of Minimum requirements for biological products

  • We investigate the general solution of the following functional equation and the generalized Hyers-Ulam-Rassias stability problem in quasi ${\beta}$-normed spaces and then the stability by using alternative fixed point method for the following quintic function $f:X{\rightarrow}Y$ such that f(3x+y)+f(3x-y)+5[f(x+y)+f(x-y)]=4[f(2x+y)+f(2x-y)]+2f(3x)-246f(x), for all $x,y{\in}X$.

  • In case that a general cusp-crack shaped inclusion expressed in a polynominal form of conformal mapping function exists in a two dimensional elastic body under uniform heat flow, the complex potential and thermal stress intensity factors are derived. Two thermal boundary conditions are considered, one an insulated rigid inclusion and the other a rigid inclusion with fixed boundary temperature. The previous solutions of the thermal stress intensity factors for symmetrical airfoil and lip type rigid inclusions are obtained from the general solution of the thermal stress intensity factors.

  • By a SLAM (simultaneous localization and mapping) method, we get a map of an environment for autonomous navigation of a robot. In this case, we want to know how accurate the map is. Or we want to know which map is more accurate when different maps can be obtained by different SLAM methods. So, several methods for map comparison have been studied, but they have their own drawbacks. In this paper, we propose a new method which compares the accuracy or error of maps relatively and quantitatively. This method sets many corresponding points on both reference map and SLAM map, and computes the translational and rotational values of all corresponding points using least-squares solution. Analyzing the standard deviations of all translational and rotational values, we can know the error of two maps. This method can consider both local and global errors while other methods can deal with one of them, and this is verified by a series of simulations and real world experiments.

  • In this paper, we generalize the stability for an n-dimensional cubic functional equation in Banach space to set-valued dynamics. Let $n{\geq}2$ be an integer. We define the n-dimensional cubic set-valued functional equation given by $$f(2{{\sum}_{i=1}^{n-1}}x_i+x_n){\oplus}f(2{{\sum}_{i=1}^{n-1}}x_i-x_n){\oplus}4{{\sum}_{i=1}^{n-1}}f(x_i)\\=16f({{\sum}_{i=1}^{n-1}}x_i){\oplus}2{{\sum}_{i=1}^{n-1}}(f(x_i+x_n){\oplus}f(x_i-x_n)).$$ We first prove that the solution of the n-dimensional cubic set-valued functional equation is actually the cubic set-valued mapping in [6]. We prove the Hyers-Ulam stability for the set-valued functional equation.
