자동차 소프트웨어 생태계 관련 주요 이슈 및 발전방안 (Critical Issues in Automotive Software Ecosystems and Development Approach)

  • Software is becoming increasingly important, accounting for more than 90% of the innovations in the automotive industry nowadays. In fact, the share of software in the automotive market is estimated to be around 40%. Accordingly, the shift from hardware- to software-centric vehicles, represented by software-defined vehicles (SDVs), will drastically reorganize the automotive industry ecosystem. This article presents challenges that the automotive ecosystem needs to solve and measures that each participant in the ecosystem should adopt in line with the transition to SDVs in the automotive industry. It is expected that tier-1 suppliers will face difficulties due to the decoupling of software and hardware, and OEMs will need to strengthen cooperation to share costs and shorten development periods to cope with the huge cost of software development.

  • 소프트웨어 생태계의 시장 중심 개발 환경에서 소프트웨어 기업은 제품의 성공을 위해서 자신의 비즈니스와 고객에게 높은 가치를 제공할 수 있어야만 시장 경쟁력을 가지고 생존할 수 있다. 요구공학적 관점에서 제품 요구사항 선택을 통한 가치 제공을 위해서 이해관계자들 각자의 다른 이해가 조정되어 합의되어야 한다. 즉, 요구공학 단계에서 높은 가치 창출을 고려하는 합의된 요구사항을 선택할 필요가 있다. 기존 연구들은 소프트웨어 생태계에서 요구되는 이해관계자들의 다른 이해에 대한 요구공학적 기법의 필요성을 언급하였을 뿐, 구체적인 가이드라인 및 수행 방법에 대하여 제안하지 않았다. 본 연구에서는 요구공학에서 사용되는 Goal 개념 기반으로 협상 참가자의 의도를 분석하고 이를 바탕으로 요구사항 충돌의 근거를 구조화하여 관리할 수 있도록 한다. 궁극적으로 협상 참가자의 이기적 행동을 바탕으로 게임 이론적 개념을 이용한 요구사항 충돌 해결 방법론을 제안한다.

  • The purpose of this paper is to propose a novel modeling approach called Services Ecosystem that applies the concept of ecosystems in ecology to Service-Oriented Software Development and Integration. For this purpose, an ecological system for software systems is proposed for the emerging Service-Oriented Computing paradigm, describing how participants interact with each other within their environments. Three emerging concepts, Service-Oriented Programming, Software Factories, and Service Grid, are employed to explain biotic and abiotic environments. Based upon the Services Ecosystem model, we demonstrate Services Ecosystem Model transformations by using a case example. The Services Ecosystem model is a novel approach for envisioning the Service-Oriented Computing paradigm in terms of an ecosystem in which the roles/perspectives of each participant and their relationships/interactions to environments are clearly described with a holistic view.

  • Cyberspace is emerging as a critical domain requiring national-level governance and international cooperation owing to its potential financial and societal impacts. This research aims to investigate the cybersecurity policies from major countries for understanding with comprehensive perspectives. Global trends emphasize a comprehensive command-centered approach, with top leadership directing cybersecurity policies. Key policy areas include security across technology ecosystems, protection of critical infrastructure, and software supply chain security. Investment is being focused on zero-trust architectures, software bills, and new technologies like artificial intelligence. For countries like Korea, immediate response and adaptation to these trends are crucial to develop and enforce national cybersecurity policies.

PollMap: a software for crop pollination mapping in agricultural landscapes

  • Background: Ecosystem service mapping is an important tool for decision-making in landscape planning and natural resource management. Today, pollination service mapping is based on the Lonsdorf model (InVEST software) that determines the availability of nesting and floral resources for each land cover and estimates pollination according to the foraging range of the desired species. However, it is argued that the Lonsdorf model has significant limitations in estimating pollination in a landscape that can affect the results of this model. Results: This paper presents a free software, named PollMap, that does not have the limitations of the Lonsdorf model. PollMap estimates the pollination service according to a modified version of the Lonsdorf model and assumes that only cells within the flight range of bees are important in the pollination mapping. This software is produced for estimating and mapping crop pollination in agricultural landscapes. The main assumption of this software is that in the agricultural landscapes, which are dominated by forest and agriculture ecosystems, forest patches serve only as a nesting habitat for wild bees and the surrounding fields provide floral resources. Conclusion: The present study provided new software for mapping crop pollination in agricultural landscapes that does not have the limitations of the Lonsdorf model. We showed that the use of the Lonsdorf model for pollination mapping requires attention to the limitations of this model, and by removing these limitations, we will need new software to obtain a reliable mapping of pollination in agricultural landscapes.

A Flexible and Expandable Representation Framework for Computational Science Data

  • EDISON is a web-based platform that provides easy and convenient use of simulation software on high-performance computers. One of the most important roles of a computational science platform, such as EDISON, is to post-process and represent the simulation results data so that the user can easily understand the data. We interviewed EDISON users and collected requirements for post-processing and represent of simulation results, which included i) flexible data representation, ii) supporting various data representation components, and iii) flexible and easy development of view template. In previous studies, it was difficult to develop or contribute data representation components, and the view templates were not able to be shared or recycled. This causes a problem that makes it difficult to create ecosystems for the representation tool development of numerous simulation software. EDISON-VIEW is a framework for post-processing and representing simulation results produced from the EDISON platform. This paper proposes various methods used in the design and development of the EDISON-VIEW framework to solve the above requirements and problems. We have verified its usefulness by applying it to simulation software in various fields such as material, computational fluid dynamics, computational structural dynamics, and computational chemistry.

  • With the advent of the genomics era powered by DNA sequencing technologies, life science is being transformed significantly and biological research and development have been accelerated. Environmental biology concerns the relationships among living organisms and their natural environment, which constitute the global biogeochemical cycle. As sustainability of the ecosystems depends on biodiversity, examining the structure and dynamics of the biotic constituents and fully grasping their genetic and metabolic capabilities are pivotal. The high-speed high-throughput next-generation sequencing can be applied to barcoding organisms either thriving or endangered and to decoding the whole genome information. Furthermore, diversity and the full gene complement of a microbial community can be elucidated and monitored through metagenomic approaches. With regard to human welfare, microbiomes of various human habitats such as gut, skin, mouth, stomach, and vagina, have been and are being scrutinized. To keep pace with the rapid increase of the sequencing capacity, various bioinformatic algorithms and software tools that even utilize supercomputers and cloud computing are being developed for processing and storage of massive data sets. Environmental genomics will be the major force in understanding the structure and function of ecosystems in nature as well as preserving, remediating, and bioprospecting them.

단순 유전 알고리즘에서 단속평형의 지속시간에 대한 연구 (The Duration of Punctuated Equilibria in Simple Genetic Algorithms)

  • 유전 알고리즘에서 개체군은 지역 최적치에 빠질 수 있지만 긴 지속시간이 지난 후에는 여기에서 빠져나을 수 있으며 이러한 현상을 단속평형 (punctuated equilibrium)이라고 한다. 자연계나 컴퓨터 생태계 (computational ecosystems) 에서 관찰되는 단속평형은 확산 방정식 (diffusion equation)으로 잘 설명된다. 본 연구에서는 단순 유전 알고리즘을 이론적으로 분석하여 개체군의 움직임이 확산 방정식으로 표현될 수 있다는 것을 보인다. 또한 적합도 (fitness) 함수를 단위화 (unitation) 함수로 국한하면 이 분석을 더 구체화하여 유전 알고리즘의 주요 변수들이 이 방정식에 나타나도록 할 수 있다. 이 경우 확산 방정식에 대한 이론적 결과를 이용하면 지역 최적치에서 빠져 나오기까지의 지속시간이 개체군의 크기, 1/(돌연변이 확률), 그리고 지역 최적치의 깊이에 대해 지수적으로 증가한다는 것을 알 수 있다. 이러한 이론적 결과는 이중안정 지형 (bistable landscapes)에서의 시뮬레이션 결과와 일치한다.

Assessment of mulberry leaf as a potential feed supplement for animal feeding in P.R. China

  • Objective: Mulberry (Morus alba L.) is a cultivated shrub grown widely in the sub-tropical and tropical areas. It has been shown that mulberry leaf contains high levels of protein while having polyphenols as phytonutrients. Therefore, it is important to conduct an experiment to assess potential toxic level from mulberry on behavior, blood hematological and coagulation parameter using Sprague-Dawley (SD) rats. Methods: Both male and female SD rats were given an intragastric administration of respective treatments of mulberry leaf intakes (control, low and high levels). Parameters of feed intake, hematological and coagulation of blood parameters, as well as liveweight changes were taken during the 7 d of adaptation, 28 d of treatment exposure, and 14 d of recovery periods, respectively. All treatment data were statistically analyzed using analysis of variance of SPSS17.0 for Windows Statistical Software following the Randomized complete block design with sex as a block. Results: Most of the parameters of the physical symptoms of the SD rats, were not significantly different (p>0.05) when compared with that of the control group. Those which remain unchanged in each dose group were, body weight (BW) gain, feed intake, the hematology and coagulation indexes. Although, there were a few individual indicators that were abnormal, but the overall physiological appearance of the rats were normal. Conclusion: Results under this experiment revealed that most hematological and coagulation parameters of the SD rats in both male and female were normal, although the weight gain of female rats in high-dose group was significantly reduced than those of the male rats. Under this study, the use of mulberry leaf up to 2 g/kg BW did not result in abnormal phenomenon in the SD rats. These findings would offer useful information for further in vivo feeding trials in animals to extensively use of mulberry leaf to improve animal production, particularly in P.R. China.

A Study on the Development of App Ecosystem based Smart Home

  • Smart Home has achieved remarkable developments over the past few decades. In the ICT(Information and Communications Technology) field, 'app ecosystem'-a collection of multiple devices such as mobile phones and tablets, software (operating system and development tools), companies (manufacturers, carriers, app-stores, etc.) and the process through which data is transferred/shared by a user from one device to another device or by the device itself-has come into wide use since the advent of the smart phone. Due to the synergy effect of the 'app ecosystem', it has been applied to various fields such as televisions and automobile industries. As a result, both the Smart TV and connected vehicle have developed their own ecosystem. Although much research has been conducted on these two ecosystems, there is a lack of research regarding 'App Ecosystem based Smart Home' (AESH). This research focuses on the building scenarios based on 'Tracking, Analyzing, Imaging, Deciding, and Acting (T.A.I.D.A), a future prediction method process. Rather than taking an approach from the perspective of providing and applying advanced technology for research on building future scenarios, this paper focuses on research from the perspective of architectural planning. As a result, two future scenarios of AESH are suggested.
