  • This paper suggests the effective channel assignment scheme for mobility prediction handover. For maintaining required quality of service (QoS) during handover, there are handover algorithms these reserve the channel where the movement is predicted. But channel assignment schemes these have been studied are not considered mobility prediction handover. This paper suggests the channel assignment scheme that considers mobility predicted handover. The suggested algorithm maintains dropping probability of handover calls, decreases blocking probability of new calls and increases channel utilization.

  • In this paper, we construct a navigation geography database using R-tree, and develop a software for avionics systems such as VOR, ILS, DME, and NDB. First, we design the navigation geography database using R-tree, and construct a database for navigation aids facilities of every airport. In order to implement avionics software, we develop some calculating algorithms for distance, bearing, and deviation angle between an aircraft and a VOR station for VOR, and deviation angle from a LLZ, glide slope from a GP, and range of markers for ILS. The navigation geography database system is composed of map data manager which can construct and update the database, real-time searcher which provides information about the avionics system, geography database, and user interface.

  • The proposed framework of Four Layer Robust Storage in Cloud (FLRSC) architecture involves host server, local host and edge devices in addition to Virtual Machine Monitoring (VMM). The goal is to protect the privacy of stored data at edge devices. The computational intelligence (CI) part of our algorithm distributes blocks of data to three different layers by partially encoded and forwarded for decoding to the next layer using hash and greed Solomon algorithms. VMM monitoring uses snapshot algorithm to detect intrusion. The proposed system is compared with Tiang Wang method to validate efficiency of data transfer with security. Hence, security is proven against the indexed efficiency. It is an important study to integrate communication between local host software and nearer edge devices through different channels by verifying snapshot using lamport mechanism to ensure integrity and security at software level thereby reducing the latency. It also provides thorough knowledge and understanding about data communication at software level with VMM. The performance evaluation and feasibility study of security in FLRSC against three-layered approach is proven over 232 blocks of data with 98% accuracy. Practical implications and contributions to the growing knowledge base are highlighted along with directions for further research.

  • Recent studies have shown that the flow table size of hardware SDN switch cannot match the number of concurrent flows. Combined SDN Forwarding Element (CFE), which comprises several software switches and a hardware switch, becomes an alternative approach to tackle this problem. Due to the limited capacity of software switch, the way to route concurrent flows in CFE can largely affect the maximum delay that a flow suffers at CFE. As delay-guarantee is a nontrivial task for network providers with the increasing number of delay-sensitive applications, we propose an analytical model of CFE to evaluate a rules placement solution first. Next, we formulate the problem of Rules Placement with delay guarantee in CFE (RPCFE), and present the genetic-based rules placement (GARP) algorithm to solve the RPCFE problem. Further, we validate the analytical model of CFE through simulations in NS-3 and compare the performance of GARP with three benchmark algorithms.

  • During launch a spacecraft is subjected to a variety of dynamical loads transmitted through the launcher to spacecraft interface or air-born transmission excitations in the acoustic pressure field inside the fairing. As a result, spacecraft are tested on ground to ensure and demonstrate the global integrity of the structure against these loads, to screen the flight hardware for quality of workmanship and to validate mathematical models. This paper addresses the numerical modelling and simulation of the low frequency sine and random vibration tests performed on electrodynamic shaker facilities to comprise the mechanical-borne transmission loads through the launcher to spacecraft interface. Consequently, the paper reviews techniques and methodologies to derive a reliable and representative coupled virtual vibration testing simulation environment based on experimental data. These technologies are explored with the main objectives to ensure a stable, reliable and accurate control while testing. As a result, the use of the derived simulation models in combination with the added value of improved control and signal processing algorithms can lead to a safer and smoother vibration test control of the entire environmental test campaign.

  • In this paper, the element combination algorithm for designing an arbitrary type of the automatic transmissions is proposed. The powertrain simulation software using this algorithm is then developed. The deliveries of the angular velocities and torques are only considered for the motion characteristics of the automatic transmissions. The effects of the vibration and noise are not considered. The automatic transmission is defined by the basic elements, i.e., planetary gear set, clutch, brake, shaft, general gear, and inertia. The transmission system is defined by the combination of these elements. The element combination matrices automatically generate the equations of motion for each shift. The self error-correcting algorithm is also developed to verify the element combination algorithm. This automotive powertrain simulation/design software with user-friendly graphic user interface has two main modules. The first module, the automatic powerflow generation module, mainly consists of the automatic powerflow and component generation algorithms. This paper covers the theory and application for the first module. The second module deals with the automatic system generation algorithm and will be discussed in the second paper.

  • This paper presents the Matlab/Simulink-based software-in-the-loop simulation(SILS) environment which is the co-simulator for temporal and functional simulations of control systems. The temporal behavior of a control system is strongly dependent on the implemented software and hardware such as the real-time operating system, the target CPU, and the communication protocol. The proposed SILS abstracts the system with tasks, task executions, real-time schedulers, and real-time networks close to the implementation. Methods to realize these components in graphical block representations are investigated with Matlab/Simulink, which is most commonly used tool for designing and simulating control algorithms in control engineering. In order to achieve a seamless development from SILS to rapid control prototyping (RCP), the SILS block-set is designed to support automatic code generation without tool changes and block modifications.
