  • The concept of architectural sustainability is gradually being highlighted in several ills and consciousness of crisis of modern architecture. However, many of us tend to realize its sustainability focusing on ecological sustainability in many ways. Such perspective is considerably technical and extensive. Therefore, I paid attention to Herman Hertzberger's architecture to find out how to consider spatial aspects, when interior architecture designers engage in design process. This study aims to analyze architectural progress for social communication of Herman Hertzberger's project, breaking from the existing research to only limit him to one of structuralism architects. In particular, it was found that in relation to social sustainability, universal/social design, cultural design and green/ecological design have been progressed in their forms through communicational perspectives of social architecture which he's insisted since the structuralism era. Recently, majority of issues about sustainability are restricted to economical aspects. Accordingly, further study is needed to consider his architecture from social aspects. As his architecture is concentrating on coexistence from a social perspective for communication, not on modern spatial discourse, his architectural works need to be analyzed consistently as realistic measurements.

  • I studied in this paper on the comparative study between the constructivism and the structuralism as the educational methods. On the constructivism in educational methods they say that knowledge is constructed subjectively by person individually(cognitive constructivism) or by persons reciprocally in the society(social constructivism). On the structuralism in educational methods they say that knowledge(structure) is in the closed-end text objectively and person pursue and identify this objective knowledge in the closed-end text. But on the post-structuralism(neostructuralism) they say that the text is not closed-ended but open-ended. So constructivism is consistent with post-structuralism. Education include application of knowledge and awareness of knowledge on my opinion. Education on application of knowledge is more important in this knowledge based society. Constructivism connote the application of knowledge in the education. School library media center and media specialist(teather-librarian) are essential elements of this application of knowledge in the education.

  • Chinese society, which maintained the feudal social system, has taken an isolationist policy in response to the Western aggression since $20^{th}$ century. However, in the wake of the Opium War of 1840, China had actively accepted Western culture, not in just politics and economy, but in diverse area of social property. Since these process, the modernization of China had begun and the Chinese museum has been erected and evolved through the process of it. And it can be deducted that the philosophy of socialist society had a considerable influence on the spatial configuration of the Chinese museum since it was at the heart of china's modernization. And another social shift has been made since 2000 that is regarded as the internationalization of China. It brought a new point of de-structuralism to the society since 2000 and it is leading the changes of various areas of culture and arts, including museology in Chinese society. The purpose of this study is to understand what changes have been made to the museums in China since 2000 and how the internationalization of China is engaged with this it, in terms of the spatial structure of a museum. To do this the study examined the spatial changes of the museum in the mathematical approach including Space Syntax tool and it was engaged with the changes of museum type. Throughout the study, it was concluded that spatial structure of museums in china has been changed from structural organization to de-structural one since 2000 of China's internationalization.

  • This study focuses on the analysis of body images appearing in the fashion illustrations since the 1990's and thereby attempts to determine relationship between their expressional features and aesthetic values in reference to theory of post-structuralism. Especially among numerous post-structuralist, Michel Foucault, Gilles Deleuze/Felix Guattari, and Julia Kristeva set unique arguments on body, which provide valuable leads to decipher the image of body. For that reason, body images shown in the fashion illustration are categorized into grotesque body, fragmented body, humanoid body, and post-gendered body, and reviewed their characteristics and aesthetic values based on critics of above three scholars. Findings are summarized as follows: First, image of body entails meaning of an resistance of traditional social concepts and order, and second it serves the purpose of creating a new and unique sense. Finally, it is not an object of representation of physical facts, but rather a representation of the real itself, apart from presenting the original material. Given arguments enhance understanding of images of body in fashion illustration in a broader sense.

  • What is Deconstruction which is now the focus of the current architectural discussion? In order to know the Deconstruction properly, we should review the background of Modernism and Post-Modernism in architecture. As we know, the 1968's serial uprisings of democratic movement in Paris changed human concepts about art dramatically. As the result of that movement new ideas such as Structuralism, Post-structuralism, Deconstruction, and Semiotics arose. In architecture some ideas like construotioniem were not practised fully in 1920's and only the Modernism has been realized as the idea expressing the modern Utopia. In Korea situation to interprete architectural ideas into real buildings are different from those of other developed countries. Korean architects are seemed to use Deconstructionist vocabularies as fashionable styles without being concious of the root and history of Deconstruction. For Koreans the contexts are different. Although Modernism and Functionalism have been practised vigorously in Korea as other countries, the situations are ambiguous and complicated in applying new ideas introduced after Moderism. So they are in chaos. What could be our orthodox ideology to be worth pursuing in arthitecture? There are several sample works of Deconstruction in Korea done by Jo, Geon young, Kim, In Chul and Bae Byung-Gil. Aithough their works cannot be interpreted as real Deconstruction in European or american view-points, I think they are good examples of Korean Deconstruction that express contemporary Korean architecture and its social background.

  • Constructivism is an avant-garde movement that began in 20th-century Russia, which rapidly turned into an industrial society. This was one of the most experimental art movements, that wanted to be at the center of social and political-ideological change as it pursued a unique style, which portrayed the true essence of art and humanity. Russian constructivism greatly influenced modern fashion and suggested a new artistic standard. First, the artistic elements of Russian constructivism include photo montages, geometrical structures, color abstraction, and an asymmetrical order, through which the ideals of the Russian Revolution were substantiated, idealized, and materialized into an artistic form. Second, the different forms of Russian constructivism have various artistic characteristics such as popularity, spatiality, structuralism, decorativeness, and mobility, which were then expressed in modern fashion elaborated below. This study intends to reconstruct the meaning of Russian formalism and reflect it on fashion; thereby reconsidering the characteristics and the meaning of Russian constructivism in the context of today's fashion. This will broaden the meaning of constructivism and suggest a new direction for modern fashion.

  • This research has a purpose to verify whether the Internet diffusion through the Official Development Assistance (ODA) can bring about democratic changes in authoritarian political system of developing countries. This research has found out that IT ODA has 'positive(+)' effect on the Internet diffusion in recipient countries. It seems to support the expectation of donor countries that they can lead the political democratization by constructing infrastructure and promoting the use of the Internet. However, as the impact of IT ODA on the Internet diffusion is not considerable as well as the Internet diffusion has no strong influence on the development of democracy in developing countries, and also each of these aspects of countries looks different, it is hard to see that the democratization hypothesis based on the optimistic technological determinism is reasonable. Therefore, this paper argues that IT ODA must be based on not blind optimism that IT transfer will lead to the political democratization in developing countries, but the social structuralism which is based on distinctiveness and uniqueness of countries. and suggests that the discuss of the effect of IT ODA proceed with the constructive way.
