Data of National Leisure Activity Survey conducted by Korea Culture & Tourism Institute in 2016 were used for this study. From this dataset, 891 male elderly and 970 female elderly aged above 65 were selected for this study. Ordered logistic regression model was used by considering the nature of the dependent variable. The results of this study can be summarized as follows. First, choice proportions of leisure activities classified by four type are different by sex of the elderly. Second, among control variables, household income, residential area, joining a club have different significant effect on happiness of the elderly by sex but volunteering have same significant effect on happiness of the elderly by sex. Third, any type of leisure activity have no significant effect on happiness of both the male elderly and the female elderly. Fourth, cost of leisure has significant positive effect on happiness of both the male elderly and the female elderly but has different significance by sex. Fifth, focus on leisure rather than work has very significant positive effect on happiness of both the male elderly and the female elderly. • This study sought to propose ways to improve the happiness of Chinese product designers by verifying whether grit moderates the effect of job stress on happiness through professional values. A purposively sampled participants of 335 Chinese product designers living in Guangdong Province, southern China, were selected. Data analysis was performed using SPSS PC+ Win. Ver. 26.0 and PROCESS Macro ver. 4.2. The statistical techniques applied were frequency analysis, reliability analysis, correlation analysis, and moderated mediation effect analysis. The research results are as follows. First, job stress showed a negative correlation with professional value and grit, but did not show a significant correlation with happiness. Except for job stress, there was a positive significant correlation between other variables. Second, the conditional indirect effect was significant when grit was M-SD, M, or M+SD. M+SD. Therefore, the moderated mediating role of grit was verified. However, as professional value increased, grit played a role in increasing happiness. Still, in the path of job stress -> professional value -> happiness, grit did not buffer the negative effect of job stress on happiness through professional stress. Suggestions were made to improve the happiness of product designers using professional values and grit.

  • This study conducted a qualitative research based on interviews with school teachers and instructors operating external activities about how the management of one's own appearance influence the changes in subjective happiness and self-esteem by focusing on maladjusted students of two alternative schools and ordinary middle and high schools in Gyeongsangnam-do province. Happiness refers to a positive emotion that can be felt continuously throughout life such as life satisfaction, good experience, and positive way of thinking. The sense of happiness is the satisfaction that one feels by interpreting and evaluating his or her experience in a positive way and can be defined as the positive emotions that can be felt when one perceives and uses the strengths and resources that he or she has. Although the self-esteem is formed, changed, and developed throughout life, the self-awareness and self-evaluation develop more actively than other stages of development particularly in adolescence, and the adolescents with low self-esteem are faced with more serious behavioral, scholastic, and psychological issues. I hope the results of this study not only help current adolescents at risk to improve their self-esteem but also become a chance to see the issue of adolescents at risk as a part of social issue instead of limiting the issue as personal or domestic issue by expanding the application scope of the results to adolescents in middle schools and high schools who have the potential of going astray in order to approach the issue on the level of the entire society.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of participation in cultural activities on happiness. The empirical results show that participation in cultural activities has a positive impact on individual happiness, because cultural activities cause entertainment and social contacts with people. Furthermore, the levels of income and education are analyzed by dividing them into high and low groups. Noteworthy is that the low-income and less-educated groups show lower participation in cultural activities than those in the high-income and well-educated groups, But the utility magnitude gained through cultural activities is higher. This implies that opportunity costs arising from financial and time constraints are greater in the low-income and less-educated groups than in the high-income and well-educated groups. Finally, for the low-income group, the marginal utility is reduced when spending on cultural activities exceeds certain levels, which means there exist a budget constraint for the low-income group.

  • This study examines the relationship between teacher-perceived teaching efficacy and happiness and teacher-infant interaction, and analyzes the effect of teaching efficacy and happiness on teacher-infant interaction. The purpose was to reveal that it was an important variable in the quality of action. Frequency analysis and descriptive statistics analysis were conducted for the Korean Children's Panel 7th year (2014) data, and Pearson's moment-moment correlation coefficient was calculated for correlation analysis between variables. Multiple regression analysis was conducted to examine the influence of teachers' teaching efficacy and happiness on teacher-infant and infant-infant interactions. The research results were as follows. First, teachers' teaching efficacy, teacher happiness, teacher-infant, and infant-infant interactions were all found to have significant positive correlations. Second, teachers' teaching efficacy was found to have a significant effect on teacher-infant and infant-infant interactions, and the influence increased when teacher's happiness was added. Therefore, we need to come up with a plan to increase teachers' teaching efficacy and teacher happiness at the same time so that the quality of teacher-infant and infant-infant interactions can be meaningfully improved.

  • This study examined preschool children's conceptions of social situations and mothers' responses toward their children in the home context. Participants were 78 kindergarten children and their mothers living Seoul, Korea. Results indicated that children did not distinguish social-conventional situations from moral situations, but they clearly distinguished social-conventional and moral situations from personal situations. Mothers' reported that they would make indirect responses to children's behaviors in moral situations to highlight intrinsic consequences such as violating others' rights and happiness. In contrast, they said that they would make direct responses such as mentioning rules and manners in social-conventional situations. Mothers supported their children's choices in personal situations unless the situations were dangerous or detrimental to children's health.

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship between failure mindset of the mother and adolescent, along with the mediating effects of mother's happiness and mother-adolescents (first and second-year middle school students in Seoul) open communication. For this study, self-reported data of 270 mother-adolescent dyads were analyzed using SPSS and Process macro Model 6. The results revealed that the mother's failure mindset directly predicted their adolescent's failure mindset. The mediating effect of the mother-adolescent open communication was significant, but the mediating effect of the mother's happiness was not significant. However, the mediation effect of the mother's failure mindset on the adolescent's failure mindset through mother's happiness and mother-adolescent open communication was significant. These results suggest that "failure-is-enhancing" mindset of mothers improve their positive affect and parenting skills, which contributes to developing adolescent's belief system about failure. Putting the results together, this study is significant in that it identified the intergenerational relationship of the failure mindset. Besides, the study results serve as a foundation for intervening on the adolescent's failure mindset by verifying the developmental mechanism of the failure mindset.

Findings of the current study are as follows: First, the social system anxiety in Covid-19 stress construct was found to have statistically significant impacts upon intrapersonal and structural constraints. Especially, Covid-19 phobia showed a significant effect upon all of the subdimensions of leisure constraints. Second, all of the subdimensions of leisure constraints showed a significant impact on perceived happiness. This study may contribute to a better understanding of leisure constraints, leisure constraints negotiation, and Covid-19 stress.

  • This study is a theoretical study on philosophical thinking for examining the idea of the corporate social responsibility(CSR) of a company. The oriental philosophical thought is to understand the contents of social responsibility of the corporation centering on Mozi's philosophy, which stresses that people should care for everyone equally. In the Western philosophical thought, we tried to understand the contents of corporate social responsibility by focusing on utilitarian thought. It is not merely an actual principle or a moral principle, but a comprehension for mutual benefit. In conclusion, it can be concluded that universal love's approach through the gangbang has many similarities with the realization of the greatest happiness of the number that is uttered in utilitarian thinking. In this way, a sustainable competitiveness of corporations can be achieved through universal love and utilitarian philosophical understanding and practice for the cognition of social responsibility.
