The study on fashion opinion leader -Concerning the degree of mass media exposure and social paticipation- (패션 의경선도자에 관한 연구 - 주부들의 사회참여도와 대중매체 노출도를 중심으로 -)

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze the characteristics of Women's clothing fashion opinion leaders. The fundamental conceptualization for this study was based on the theories of fashion and opinion leader. Data for the study was obtained through questionnaires from 385 houswives of Gang Nam Gu. The measure of fashion opinion leadership applied in this project was the modification of Rogers' six question self-designating method. Operationally, the characteristic under investigation categoried into three sets of variable ; demographic and socialogical variables, and mass media exposure. As to the data analyses for this study, two-way crosstabs analyses were applied in comparing the characteristics of fashion opinion leader with followers. X\sup 2\ test was used to examine the correlation of several variables. RESULTS : 1. Fashion opinion leaders are not differ from followers in demographic characteristics. 2. Compared with followers, fashion opinion leaders are more active in the participation in concerts, movies and plays. 3. In mass media exposure, fashion opinion leaders differ little from followers regarding T.V, radio, newspaper, literarly magazine, general magazine, culture magazine.

Studying Everyday Life of Families with Qualitative Methodology (가족의 일상생활 연구를 위한 질적방법론 고찰)

  • The purposes of the article are to explore historical contexts where everyday life is identified as the essence of family studies, and to suggest qualitative methodology which is effective to understand meanings of family everyday life. Everyday life is the integrity of the time when family members progress in a family life cycle, the space where they interact with each other, and the way how they achieve their developmental tasks. Qualitative methodology, coming from interpretive science paradigm, focuses on those processes, interactions, and meanings of family members in natural settings. Example researches are introduced to show what specific topic can be studied and how they be interpreted for exploring family everyday life. The future of studying everyday life is discussed in terms of the research topic and the methods.

- Divorce in Societal Context - (이혼의 사회적 배경 고찰)

  • This study examines changing norms concerning divorce in societal context of the historical perspective. The analysis indicates that the changes in divorce norms were particularly striking during industrialization and urbanization. In traditional society, there are various divorce norms according to each era. In Sam Kuk era, there is not the norms of divorce, but there is norms of divorce by Yea Kdeu ideology in Gorea era. During the Zo Sun era, the strict restrict seven possible norms and three overriding ones for divorce rates significantly rose in after the industrialization in response to the continuation of such social changes as greater participation of women in labor force, increased alternative to traditional marriage, the declining stigma attached to divorce, and the rising standard for individual happiness in marriage and so on. Divorce rates are also affected by other factors, such as political and economic conditions, geographic differences, and various demographic characteristics.

The Impact of Coping Resources on Positive Changes of Single Mothers and their Children (편모가족의 어머니와 자녀의 긍정적 변화에 미치는 자원의 영향)

  • Coping resources may be a crucial aspect in single mothers' and their childrens' adjustment. Using a survey data collected from 275 pairs of single mothers and their children, this study investigated the perceived effects of economic resoures, family relational resources, and social support on positive changes of both mothers and their children. Results revealed that both mothers and their children perceived positive changes of themselves and their children(mothers) relatively high. The degrees of positive changes of mothers were influenced mostly by family relational resources. In the same token, the degrees of positive changes of children were also affected by family relational resources. Overall, the findings suggested the importance of relational resources in explaining the positive changes of single mothers and their children.

  • This study applied the Stochastic Frontier Analysis to estimate which independent variable affects to efficiency of aquaculture household. This study used wage and facility scale as input variables, sales volume as an output variable to estimate efficiency. Also, the study used region, species, water quality to estimate technical inefficiency factors of the model. The data used for this study were obtained by the operating costs survey using 1:1 interview method. The study selected translog production model with technical inefficiency term estimated as half-normal distribution. In addition, the study used pearson and spearman correlation coefficient among efficiency estimating models. Also, the study analysed differences among estimated efficiencies through t-test, and showed us 0.1793 in species, 0.4677 between Geojae and Masan.

  • The authors consider, that the effectiveness of the government's activity, the improvement of decisions' quality depends on implementation of modern innovative technologies through activation the direct and feedback connection between public authority system and the business -community, through increasing the level of their collaboration by participating in solving main social problems and discu ssing innovative projects (initiative) according questions about socio-economic development of the country, improving the system of the state and local government in the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Children's Social Behavior in a Korean Preschool (한국 취학전 어린이들의 사회적 행동에 관한 연구)

  • 한국 유아 교육기관에서 3,4,5세 어린이 63 명을 대상으로 시간에 따라 표집을 하여 관찰한 결과 변량분석하였다. 그 결과 , 이 세 연령의 어린이에게서 병행놀이가 다른 어느 형태의 놀이보다도 가장 많이 나타났으며, 나이가 많아짐에 따라 증가하는 것으로 나타났다.두번째로 많이 나타난 안하는 상태의 행동은 연령의 증가에 따라서 줄어드는 경향을 보였고, 3세에서 여섯 번째로 나타났던 협동놀이가 5세에서는 세 번째로 많이 나타나 증가의경향을 보였다. 손으로 다루는 장난감과 바퀴달린 장난감의 사용은 연령증가에 따라 감소하는 경향을 나타냈으나 미술 공예 자료와 책의 사용은 증가하였다. 장난감 사용에 있어 남녀의 차이를 나타냈는데, 즉 남아들은 여아들 보다 손으로 다루는 장난감, 나무토막, 바퀴달린 장난감들을 많이 사용하고 여아들은 소꼽놀이와 미술 공예 자료를 더 많이 갖고 노는 것으로 나타났다. 또 오전 오후반으로 나뉘어진 4세에서는 오후반 남아들이 오전반 남아들에 비해 소꼽놀이 미술공예자료를 더 많이 사용하였고, 여아들은 오후반이 오전반보다 미술 공예 자료를 더 많이 사용하였다. 또 오전반은 4세 여아들은 같은 성 같은 연령이 어린이와 가장 오랫동안 노는 경향을 나타냈다. 본 연구결과와 Patern의 연구결과에 대한 설명을 Parten의 놀이이론과는 다른 입장에서 설명하였다.

  • This paper presents a theoretical perspective that integrates elements of social.demographi.family environmental and psychological explanations of spousal conflict resolution techniques. In particular, the relationships between the childhood family violence and severe marital violence in the next generation and the lack of economix resources are examined as risk factors in violence behavior. Amodification of the Conflict Tactics scale is used to measure the incidence and 1-year period prevalence of three levels : reasoning, verbal agressioni, and violence. The data are drawn from area sampling of Taegu 673 women who were married of had been living with a male partner during the study period.

A Study on Family Life Education Programs for Caregiving Families (노인부양가족을 위한 가족생활교육 프로그램 개발에 대한 기초연구: 부양자 요구를 중심으로)

  • This study was to provide the basis for the development of family life education programs for caregiving families. The data were collected from 374 adult children who were giving care to their older parents in Seoul. Adult children reported experiencing more caregiving problems in the areas of personlities of older parents psychological burden and parents' health than in the areas of caregiver's health and financial burden Women were more likely to experience caregiving problems than men. Adult children indicated higher levels of perceived knowledge on planning for later life psychological characteristics of older parents and keeping good relationships with older parents. They reported more need for knowledge on physical change of older parents and planning for later life while there were less need for knowledge on sharing caregiving roles with others and social service programs. The needs for caregiving education were also identified in the aspects as to participation purposes methods times and agencies. Given these findings this study suggests some practical implications for the development of family life education programs for caregiving families. Further studies should help to advance the development and practice of family life education programs for caregiving families.

The Effects of Mate Selection Factors on the Marital Satisfaction among the Urban Couples: A Social Exchange View (도시부부의 배우자 선택 요인이 결혼만족에 미치는 영향)

  • This research is to examine the homogeneity in premarital resources that is exchanged in mate selection and its effect on marital satisfaction among the urban couples in the early period of marriage. Structured questionnaires from 310 urban couples who had been married less than three years were analyzed in this study. First the urban couples tended to seek homogamous selection in age educational level in socioeconomic status of the parents and themselves, Second those who had a spouse from his(her) own religious parental socioeconomic status showed higher level of marital satisfaction than those who had not. The rewards from personal traits such as physical attractiveness gender-role identity personality role-expectation value orientation and perceived reward found to have strong and positive associations with marital satisfaction. Parental approval and semi-arranged marriage were associated with marital satisfaction. Third perceived rewards from these resources and parental approval had significant effects on marital satisfaction; almost half of marital satisfaction was explained by these premarital factors.
