Nature and technology are very popular themes in the everydayness of modern world. In our industrial age which is based on technology nature becomes an lost origin and basic environment. On the other hand, technology is conceived as future hope and realistic environment. Through 1960s they had been transformed as signs and connoted into furniture design. As signs, they structured environment, organized space, and bred their own aesthetics. In this context, Danish designer Verner Panton presented nature as experiential landscape and Italian designer Joe Colombo expressed technology as amusing machine. What they showed were not real but sign of nature and machine. Nonetheless they were successful to create aesthetic atmosphere and meaningful projects. Also they showed the potentiality that furniture design might include discoursive issues and values. They also extended functional interesting between furniture and body to cultural domain of social viewpoint in behavioral pattern.

Environmental security is one of the major concerns for the safety of living organisms from a number of harmful pollutants in the atmosphere. Different initiatives, legislative actions, as well as scientific and social concerns have been discussed and adopted to control and regulate the threats of environmental pollution, but it still remains a worldwide challenge. Therefore, there is a need for developing certain sensitive, rapid, and selective techniques that can detect and screen the pollutants for effective bioremediation processes. In this perspective, isolated enzymes or biological systems producing enzymes, as whole cells or in immobilized state, can be used as a source for detection, quantification, and degradation or transformation of pollutants to non-polluting compounds to restore the ecological balance. Biosensors are ideal for the detection and measurement of environmental pollution in a reliable, specific, and sensitive way. In this review, the current status of different types of microbial biosensors and mechanisms of detection of various environmental toxicants are discussed.

The purpose of this study was to evaluate a group activity, reciprocal peer tutoring (RPT), in order to investigate advantages and challenges of RPT in promoting cooperative and collaborative learning environment for EFL University reading instruction. The participants in this study were 89 students taking an English reading course at a Korean university. RPT is a learning strategy whereby learners help each other and learn by teaching. This program was supported by a Vygotskyan perspective which assumes that learners gain mastery and develop cognitive skills through social interaction with more proficient others and their environment. This study relied particularly on participant perceptions through questionnaire survey and Anonymous Online class Report of the course. This study showed various advantages for tutors such as learning through teaching and becoming more autonomous and responsible for their own learning. Non-threatening and highly motivating learning atmosphere are parts of benefits for tutees. Other advantages for tutees included improved level of academic self-confidence, and motivation. This study also revealed several drawbacks associated with the problem of inaccuracy in students' production and students' demand for more direct teacher role. (182 words).

Today's restaurant is the space not just for eating, but enjoying the mood, communication space for social life, and leading trend. Therefore interior design is concerned with one of the most important role for creating unique atmosphere of restaurants. This study is aimed to analyze how to interior design elements affect the improvement of New York hip restaurant reputation, focusing on the importance of the establishment of unique trend. Through the case studies of New York hip restaurants, it is suggested that interior design is composed to not only significant different element, but also common design concept. It is mainly divided by 5 categories which is the Fusion mixed with eastern culture throughout the vision of the western, the New Baroque redefined tradition and modern thought, the Modern Classic created by importance of concise style and beauty of material, the High Concept used with new materials and technologies, and the Naturalism focused on spirit from nature and eco. Recently New York hip restaurant through the corporation work with star chef and star designer is developed to provide the enjoyable and anticipated spaces with strong theme and entertainments.

Re purposes of this study were to determine consumers' selection criteria of fashion shopping area and to examine the effects of clothing consumption value and fashion leadership on the selection criteria of fashion shopping area. In addition, the third purpose was to clarify the relation beかeon the above variables and shopping intent. The data were collected from 198 females in their twenties using questionnaire. The results could be summarized as follows. First, the selection criteria of fashion shopping area were composed of 5 factors: scale & variety of shopping area, convenience of location, entertainment, physical service, and atmosphere. Second, the fashion leadership and clothing consumption value except functional and social values had an effect on the selection criteria fashion shopping area. Particularly, the attractiveness-sought value best explained the selection criteria. Third, the fashion leadership and selection criteria fashion shopping area had an effect on the shopping intent. The effect clothing consumption value was not significant.

With a history of over 100 years, animation is an art of film and television, and a diversified special form of art as well. Animation scene design is not just about scenic painting but also a time-space formative art that serves for film and television animation, presents story plots, unveils dramatic conflicts and depicts character personalities. Scene design requires both high creativity and artistry. Scene design shall cover the living places, social environment, natural environment and historical environment where the characters live. The use of color is an important part in animation creation. In terms of scene design, it plays a significant role in building up the scene atmosphere, promote the plot and enriching screen contents. Focused on Uproar in Heaven-a classic Chinese animation, this paper analyzes the traditional characteristics of Chinese animation scene color and discusses the application and development of color.

Recently, hospital architecture has acknowledged remedial value of environment and atmosphere, which consider patient's statement of physical, spiritual, psychological and social focus, escape from the past focus of functional and rational space composition. The many research of hospital architecture just analyze elements of architectural planing which focus how to make a healing environment for patients. The purpose of this study is to abstract the design principle of architectural space composition for healing environment significance, through case study which follow up space composition. To abstract healing environment significance by space composition, each case study hospitals should be analyzed and estimated on the spatial composition elements. It is to provide the basic data for effective architectural planning of the hospital.

Due to the change in modern lifestyle and social pattern, food service industry has steadily grown recently. Especially, in terms of familiarity, chinese restaurant can be most popular type of dining alternative to Korean. The project was aiming to establish a new branch of the existing restaurant which has a main location in Kangnam area and has been famous for it's food quality, kind services and good interior design. This restaurant is located in Seohyoun-Dong, Bundang-Gu, Kyoungki-Do and this area is very crowded by both residential apartments and commercial offices. Considering the complexity in regional characteristics, this restaurant has basically targeted frequent dining-out family groups. In addition, the floor design was flexibly developed to be able to accomodate large office dining customers. The overall design was intended to keep very elegant and simple atmosphere, developed to express eco-friendly image by adopting the 'Water' component in the floor plan.

The purposes of this study was to identify the typology of clothing purchase situation considered by female students and to find out the relationship between clothing purchase situation and clothing evaluative criteria. Data were obtained from 223 female undergraduate students living in Busan, and analyzed by factor analysis, Cronbach's alpha, Pearson's correlation, cannonical correlation and regres-sion analysis. The results were as follows; 1. There were three types of clothing purchase situation considered by female students; antecedent states were momentary moods and conditions such as depression, unpleasantness, and sufficient time, point-of·purchase situations were physical surrounding and social surround-ing such as store atmosphere and salesperson, and communication situations were consisted of catalog, advertising and usability of credit cards or installment tickets. 2. There were high the relationships between clothing purchase situations and clothing evaluative criteria. It was the communication situation that reflected the most of the clothing evaluative criteria, and extrinsic criteria that explained the most the clothing purchase situ-tions.
