Despite the potential implications of Facebook use, there is a distinct lack of empirically derived theory for designing learning environment. This may be because Facebook is a social tool and there has been limited opportunity for exploratory research regarding Facebook based learning. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to investigate learning presence factors affecting learning outcomes in Facebook-based collaborative learning. Forty two college students participated in the Facebook-based collaborative learning activity, and the data from thirty nine were used for step-wise multiple regression analysis. In addition focus group interview was conducted to examine learning presence of Facebook-based collaborative learning. The results reported that cognitive presence predicted significantly learning outcomes, however, social and emotional presence did not predict learning outcomes. The implication of this study and future research were discussed in this research.
The purpose of this research is to study the causal model among mother related variables, child abuse, and children's emotional maladjustment behaviors. The sample subjects were 542 pairs of fifth and sixth grade elementary school students and first as well as eighth grade middle school students, and their mothers. The major findings of the research are as follows: First, the result of multiple regression analysis on the effects of the maternal parenting stress and marital satisfaction to the children's abuse indicates that stress related to learning expectation and stress related to relationship with child are the significant contributing factor to physical abuse and verbal abuse. Second, the result of multiple regression analysis on the effects of the maternal parenting stress and child abuse to the children's emotional maladjustment behaviors indicate that verbal abuse is the significant contributing factor. Third, looking at causal relations of the maternal variables (maternal parenting stress, marital satisfaction) and child abuse (physical abuse, verbal abuse, neglect) to the children's emotional maladjustment behaviors, maternal variables impact indirectly through the child abuse factor.
The purpose of this study was to explore the psychosocial characteristics of academically maladjusted students and the College's current status regarding academic maladjustment based on 4-year medical student cohort data collected from 2018 to 2021 and through interviews with 10 medical education experts using the integrated research method. This study included 223 students who consented to inclusion in the student cohort and participated in the emotional behavior test and college adaptability test of whom 65 students experienced academic maladjustment. Academically maladjusted students had significantly higher scores for social stress, anxiety, sense of inadequacy, attention, hyperactivity, and school maladjustment, and significantly lower scores for relationships with parents, interpersonal relationships, self-esteem, self-confidence, and self-strength. Academic and social integrity, emotional stability, university satisfaction, and university service satisfaction were all significantly lower in the academically maladjusted students than in the non-maladjusted group. The expert interviews indicated that academic maladjustment was mainly recognized as a personal problem, with causes such as lack of motivation and learning methods, vulnerability to stress, lack of social relationships and alienation, lack of support from the family, and insufficient resilience. Systematic support other than counseling for academically maladjusted students is required, and an early diagnosis and preventive intervention are important.
The purpose of this study was to development a model of problem solving instruction for improving practical skill-competence in technical high school. For the study, various literature researches were reviewed intensively about problem solving process, laboratory instruction's approaches and learning principals. The problem solving instruction process was composed with identifying problems, generating alternative solutions, investigation and research, choosing a solution, acting on a plan, modeling of problem solving, testing and evaluating, redesigning and improving. The skills schema combines a four domain of skilled activity, that is, cognitive skills, psychomotor skills, reactive skills and interactive skills. The problem solving instruction was composed with five major learning systems-emotional, social, cognitive, physical, and reflective-that can be used extensively as generic lesson plashing. The teacher serves as a coach or guide for student learning. As a facilitator, the teacher challenges, questions, and stimulates the students in their thinking, problem solving and self-directed study. In this process, students represent problem with think aloud, assume responsibility for their learning and move from teacher-centered to student-centered education.
This study was conducted to develop and apply an out-of-school STEAM program model based on Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) for underprivileged students in the lower grades. To this end, a STEAM program based on SEL was developed, with the following characteristics. First, by integrating traditional STEAM learning elements and SEL elements, a structured program was designed with consistent stages, including mindfulness meditation→present an authentic situation→creative design→emotional experiences→reflection. Second, the program was structured so that elementary school students could develop mathematical thinking and scientific inquiry skills in problem-solving situations in daily life. Third, the detailed themes for each STEAM program involved storytelling-based problem situations, as well as activities centered on play and sympathy to reflect the educational needs of underprivileged students. From these characteristics, a total of five programs were developed and applied to 16 teachers and 354 lower-grade elementary school students in 16 community children centers nationwide. The results were as follows. First, while students' satisfaction with the STEAM program was 4.16, there were no significant differences in STEAM satisfaction according to gender. Second, while all students' interest and self-efficacy, which was one of sub factors of STEAM attitude, were significantly improved, no significant difference was seen in STEAM attitudes according to gender. Third, although students' SEL competencies were not significantly improved, relationship skills, which were among the sub factors of SEL competencies, were significantly improved, and there were no significant differences in SEL competencies according to gender. From these results, a discussion on the effect of the out-of-school STEAM program for underprivileged students and directions for follow-up studies was suggested.

The research aims to study the dynamics of academic procrastination and its impact on the mental health of students during the transition to distance learning during the COVID-19 pandemic. At the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, it was identified a declining tendency of overall rates of academic procrastination and at the same time increase in the number of carriers of mid and high levels of academic procrastination. The decline in the general rates of academic procrastination at the beginning of 2021 testifies to the adaptation processes experienced by students to the conditions of distance learning. It was documented that students' academic procrastination is accompanied by a steady negative emotional tension. During the transition to distance learning, the intensity of students' learning activity has increased, which altogether causes stress as one of the main reasons for the academic procrastination among future psychologists. The study identified a risk of academic procrastination manifestation among students for their mental health, which provides a basis for developing and testing a program to prevent the phenomenon of academic procrastination among degree-seeking students.
Nowadays the preschool children spend much of the day playing indoors. Therefore, it needs the indoor environment that helps a variety of fun activities and physical development, and it requires the space configuration and playable furniture considering the emotional development for mental health. However, the furniture for fast growing preschoolers has not various types because the domestic furniture market for children is mostly baby beds and the furniture for the education of children. Therefore, this study presents the concepts and types of the playable furniture reflecting emotional design for preschool children's healthy emotion and suggests the most appropriate type of playable furniture considering play behavior by age. In this study, we investigated the physical, cognitive, social, emotional and linguistic development characteristics and play behavior of preschoolers, and derived the right type of playground equipment and furniture, and examined the types of playable furniture to help the emotional development. We derived the items to be checked for developing the playable furniture by age for emotional development, and classified preschoolers' playable furniture into the use of learning, relaxation and storage, and suggested its basic type focusing on the cases of various playable furniture developed at home and abroad. As a result, the playable furniture was divided into three types. The first is the self-play type making possible self amusement, the second is module built-up-type that consists of furniture and modules or units and creates various patterns and can be modified through the self-assembly and disassembly, and the third is IT game type grafting IT skills and a variety of electronic games to furniture. We sorted these types into three classes (1-3 years old, 4-5, 6-7) according to age and presented the type of play for each age, the play element and representative image that can be introduced to this furniture. In this study, we provided the basic design types of age-specific emotional playable furniture by analyzing these results.

Nowadays, as we can notice on social media, most users choose to use more than one language in their online postings. Thus, social media analytics needs reviewing as code-switching analytics instead of traditional analytics. This paper aims to present evidence comparable to the accuracy of code-switching analytics techniques in analysing the mood state of social media users. We conducted a systematic literature review (SLR) to study the social media analytics that examined the effectiveness of code-switching analytics techniques. One primary question and three sub-questions have been raised for this purpose. The study investigates the computational models used to detect and measures emotional well-being. The study primarily focuses on online postings text, including the extended text analysis, analysing and predicting using past experiences, and classifying the mood upon analysis. We used thirty-two (32) papers for our evidence synthesis and identified four main task classifications that can be used potentially in code-switching analytics. The tasks include determining analytics algorithms, classification techniques, mood classes, and analytics flow. Results showed that CNN-BiLSTM was the machine learning algorithm that affected code-switching analytics accuracy the most with 83.21%. In addition, the analytics accuracy when using the code-mixing emotion corpus could enhance by about 20% compared to when performing with one language. Our meta-analyses showed that code-mixing emotion corpus was effective in improving the mood analytics accuracy level. This SLR result has pointed to two apparent gaps in the research field: i) lack of studies that focus on Malay-English code-mixing analytics and ii) lack of studies investigating various mood classes via the code-mixing approach.
This study aims to investigate the primary teachers' perception of social emotional learning (SEL) in Malawi. To achieve this purpose, total 78 questionnaires were gathered from 9 primary schools in rural area. The data was analyzed with independent-samples t-test, correlation analysis, and multiple regression analysis. The results of this study are follows. First, the sub-factors of the Malawian primary teachers' perception of SEL shows that Comfort is 4.10, Commitment is 4.59, and Culture is 3.78. Second, there was a significant difference in the Malawian primary teachers' perception by age, years of teaching, and participation to in-service training about SEL among the individual characteristics. Third, the Malawian primary teachers' degree of implementation of SEL in school was 4.01, and there was a significant difference by years of teaching. Forth, among the sub-factors of teachers' perception of SEL, Comfort had a positive effect on the degree of implementation of SEL. This result implied that the reason why Malawian primary teachers had difficulty in implementing SEL in the school might be not a lack of individual competence but feel uncomfortable with implementation. Therefore, in order to implement SEL in the Malawi school, it is necessary to support teachers so they have confidence and comfort psychologically.
Brand image refers to how customers, stakeholders and the market see and recognize the brand. A positive brand image leads to continuous purchases, but a negative brand image is directly linked to consumers' buying behavior, such as stopping purchases, so from the corporate perspective, it needs to be quickly and accurately identified. Currently, methods of investigating brand images include surveys and SNS surveys, which have limited number of samples and are time-consuming and costly. Therefore, in this study, we are going to conduct an emotional analysis of text data on social media by utilizing the machine learning based KoBERT model, and then suggest how to use it for game corporate brand image analysis and verify its performance. The result has proved some degree of usability showing the same ranking within five brands when compared with the BRI Korea's brand reputation ranking.
