지하공간건설정보모델링(GeoBIM) 기반의 디지털 트윈 구축사례에 관한 연구 - 제주도 재암천굴, 정구수굴 사례를 중심으로 - (A case study of digital twin construction based on geospatial building information modeling (GeoBIM) - Focusing on the case of Jaeamcheon-gul and Jeonggusu-gul in Jeju Island -)

  • In the era of the 4th industrial revolution, smart construction is actively researched, in the domestic construction field, and one of the key elements in this field is Building Information Modeling(BIM). In Korea, smart construction is being implemented through BIM-based digitization and intelligence. The geotechnical engineering field should also prepare for the introduction of BIM. In this study, the concept and application status of GeoBIM were identified, and the direction of future research was presented. This study is a part of the study "Establishment of GeoBIM-based Digital Twin Maintenance System" in the current "Technology Development for Establishment of Jeju Ground Collapse Response System for Safe Road Operation". The subject and scope of the study is continuous excavation at caves located under roads in Jeju Island, and initial research is being conducted on Jaeamcheon-gul and Jeonggusu-gul. This study aims to build a digital twin through individual data construction and integration processes such as cave shape modeling using laser scanners, 3D stratum modeling using borehole information and geophysical exploration data, and modeling of surrounding conditions using drones.

A vision-based system for inspection of expansion joints in concrete pavement

  • The appropriate maintenance of highway roads is critical for the safe operation of road networks and conserves maintenance costs. Multiple methods have been developed to investigate the surface of roads for various types of cracks and potholes, among other damage. Like road surface damage, the condition of expansion joints in concrete pavement is important to avoid unexpected hazardous situations. Thus, in this study, a new system is proposed for autonomous expansion joint monitoring using a vision-based system. The system consists of the following three key parts: (1) a camera-mounted vehicle, (2) indication marks on the expansion joints, and (3) a deep learning-based automatic evaluation algorithm. With paired marks indicating the expansion joints in a concrete pavement, they can be automatically detected. An inspection vehicle is equipped with an action camera that acquires images of the expansion joints in the road. You Only Look Once (YOLO) automatically detects the expansion joints with indication marks, which has a performance accuracy of 95%. The width of the detected expansion joint is calculated using an image processing algorithm. Based on the calculated width, the expansion joint is classified into the following two types: normal and dangerous. The obtained results demonstrate that the proposed system is very efficient in terms of speed and accuracy.

  • 지능형 교통시스템은 국내 인프라 중, 도로에서 가장 중요한 역할을 하는 기술로 차량이 도로에서 가장 효율적으로 움직일 수 있도록 만들어주는 시스템을 말한다. 국내 지능형 교통시스템인 하이패스는 다른 나라와 달리 조금 늦게 시작하였지만 빠른 속도로 발전하며 최근 스마트톨링 기술이 도입되면서 톨링 시스템에서 '멈추고 다시 출발'하는 stop and go를 해결할 수 있는 기회를 마련하였다. 본 연구는 사례연구를 통해 국내 스마트톨링을 견인한 롯데정보통신의 추진방법과 결과를 다루고자 한다. 롯데정보통신은 다른 기업과 다르게 정보통신 기술 중, 결재 시스템을 오래전부터 투자한 기업으로 인프라에 투자한 경험은 적지만 부산시와 협력하여 광안대교에 스마트톨링 시스템에 참여함으로써 지능형 교통시스템의 발전에 앞장서게 되었다. 새로운 투자를 감행한 롯데정보통신은 단순히 기존 핵심역량을 뛰어넘게 되었을 뿐 아니라 한국톨링 시스템의 온실가스 저감 역량을 한 단계 격상시키는 역할을 하게 되었고, 기업의 재무성과도 향상된 것을 확인할 수 있었다.

스마트관광 시대의 관광숙박업 영업 예측 모형: 코로나19 팬더믹을 중심으로 (Predictive Models for the Tourism and Accommodation Industry in the Era of Smart Tourism: Focusing on the COVID-19 Pandemic)

  • 2020년 발생한 코로나19는 전세계적으로 지속적인 피해를 미쳤으며, 특히 하늘길 봉쇄 및 외출 자제로 인해 스마트 관광산업은 경제적 직격탄을 맞았다. 해외여행과 국내여행이 크게 감소된 상황에서 계속되는 적자로 인해 휴업과 폐업을 하는 관광호텔들이 늘어나고 있는 상황이다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 행정안전부의 인허가 데이터를 수집한 후 시각화하여 관광숙박업의 운영 현황을 파악하였다. 머신러닝 분류 알고리즘을 적용하여 관광호텔의 생존 예측 모델을 구현하였고 앙상블 알고리즘을 활용하여 예측 모델의 성능을 최적화하였으며 5-Fold 교차검증으로 모델의 성능을 평가하였다. 관광호텔의 생존율이 다소 감소할 것으로 예측되었으나 실제 생존율을 코로나19 이전과 큰 차이를 보이지 않는 것으로 분석되었다. 본 논문의 호텔업 영업 상태 예측을 통해 관광숙박업 전체의 운영 가능성 및 발전 동향을 파악할 수 있는 근거로 활용할 수 있다.

Traffic Information Service Model Considering Personal Driving Trajectories

  • In this paper, we newly propose a traffic information service model that collects traffic information sensed by an individual vehicle in real time by using a smart device, and which enables drivers to share traffic information on all roads in real time using an application installed on a smart device. In particular, when the driver requests traffic information for a specific area, the proposed driver-personalized service model provides him/her with traffic information on the driving directions in advance by predicting the driving directions of the vehicle based on the learning of the driving records of each driver. To do this, we propose a traffic information management model to process and manage in real time a large amount of online-generated traffic information and traffic information requests generated by each vehicle. We also propose a road node-based indexing technique to efficiently store and manage location-based traffic information provided by each vehicle. Finally, we propose a driving learning and prediction model based on the hidden Markov model to predict the driving directions of each driver based on the driver's driving records. We analyze the traffic information processing performance of the proposed model and the accuracy of the driving prediction model using traffic information collected from actual driving vehicles for the entire area of Seoul, as well as driving records and experimental data.

Designing Interactive Walkways of Smart Cities in Saudi Arabia

  • In this work, a noble walkway approach suitable for Saudi Arabia (SA) towards its aim to develop a wide range of smart cities is considered scientifically. This work intends to minimize the errors at each level by testing the events that take place in the walkway environment. similarly, the minimum requirements to develop a walkway to the additional features to be considered while designing a walkway are discussed in this paper with sensitive areas such as environmental factors, healthcare issues, patients visiting the walkways, etc. The applications of different monitoring devices such as CCTV's, global positioning systems (GPS), etc. are carefully addressed to help the proposed method for improving the monitoring activities of a variety of events that possibly cause problems to a common man. The ultimate goal of this work to ensure a safe and satisfied journey of pedestrians while they come for a walk with all suitable safety measures. The safety measures included in this work are for pollution, noise, temperature, humidity and traffic jams on the roads. To improve the accuracy and to test the proposed approach some polices are defined and will be tested for the consistency of the proposed system. The obtained accuracy of the proposed system is proved to be far better with an accuracy of 93% improvement in the results.

A Review of Rear Axle Steering System Technology for Commercial Vehicles

  • This study reviews the rear or tag axle steering system's concepts and technology applied to commercial vehicles. Most commercial vehicles are large in size with more than two axles. Maneuvering them around tight corners, narrow roads, and spaces is a difficult job if only the front axle is steerable. Furthermore, wear and tear in tires will increase as turn angle and number of axles are increased. This problem can be solved using rear axle steering technology that is being used in commercial vehicles nowadays. Rear axle steering system technology uses a cylinder mounted on one of rear axles called a steering cylinder. Cylinder control is the primary objective of the real axle steering system. There are two types of such steering mechanisms. One uses master and slave cylinder concept while the other concept is relatively new. It goes by the name of smart axle, self-steered axle, or smart steering axle driven independently from the front wheel steering. All these different types of steering mechanisms are discussed in this study with detailed description, advantages, disadvantages, and safety considerations.

A Study on the Steering System of Electric Scooter

  • Recently, the popularization of personal mobility(PM) has made it possible to see many electric scooters. The energy source of personal transportation used by the general public and the disabled can be seen as environmentally friendly as electricity. Personal transportation means are divided into small electric vehicles because they use electric energy, and they are being treated as new models by automobile manufacturers in each country and spurring development. On the other hand, personal transportation means may cause various types of traffic accidents as they travel between roads and a human walk. In order to prevent such accidents, it is judged that the enactment of laws on the establishment of specifications for electric scooters, which are personal transportation means, and the method of restricting road operation should be given priority. The electric scooter is basically different from the conventional vehicle. The steering shaft of the steering system applied to the electric scooter one to two is possible. 1 to 2 the front-wheel under the steering column is used. It is classified according to the number of wheel installed at the electric scooter is the vehicle body into 2 wheel - electric scooter, and 3 wheel - electric scooter and 4 wheel - electric scooter. In this study, we propose a steering shaft design model that can be applied to an electric scooter, one of personal transportation means. A design model for 1-shaft steering and 2-shafts steering that can be applied to electric scooters is proposed. In addition, we have produced the prototypes for the commercialization of the proposed models, and reviewed the pros and cons of the manufactured prototypes and models.

SMART Highway 오르막차로 설치 필요성 및 기준 연구 (Necessity of Climbing Lane on SMART Highway and its Design Guidelines)

  • 본 연구는 SMART Highway에서 종단선형에 따른 표준트럭의 교통영향을 분석하여 오르막차로 설치 필요성을 검토하고 오르막차로 필요 시 경사길이에 따른 속도변화 곡선을 구하여 제시하는 것을 목적으로 한다. SMART Highway는 미래 고속도로이므로 표준트럭의 실제 주행실험이 불가능하여 VISSIM 시뮬레이션 모형을 이용하여 오르막구간에서 표준트럭의 속도변화를 구하였다. 오르막차로의 표준트럭은 100kg/kW(170lb/hp)로 결정하고 진입속도는 장래 여건을 고려하여 90, 100, 110km/h로 설정하였다. 본 연구결과는 SMART Highway 환경하에서 종단선형 1, 2%에서 오르막차로는 필요하지 않고 3%의 오르막구간에서만 설치 필요성이 있음을 제시하였다. 3% 종단선형에서 오르막차로를 설치하기 위해 진입속도 90, 100, 110km/h에서 경사길이에 따른 트럭의 속도변화 곡선을 제시하였고 오르막차로 설치 위치도 제시하였다.

스마트폰을 활용한 도시시설물 유지관리 효율화 방안 (Effective Maintenance of Urban Facilities via Smart Phones)

  • 오늘날 세계는 빠르게 도시화가 되어가고 있으며 급속한 도시화에 따른 인구밀집현상은 교통 혼잡, 생태환경악화 등 도시의 전형적인 문제들을 초래하였으며, 폐기물 처리 및 공공위생, 치안 문제 등 도시 관리의 어려움은 점점 증대하고 있다. 특히 도시시설물 관리에 있어 정부와 지자체의 노력에도 불구하고 관리대상의 시설물 수와 종류가 많은 반면 관리인의 부족과 적정관리시스템의 부재로 인하여 도시민들이 많은 불편을 겪고 있다. 본 연구의 목적은 도시시설물의 유지관리 효율화를 위해 스마트폰을 활용한 관리방법을 제시하는 것이다. 연구결과 첫째, 스마트폰을 활용하여 시설물의 사진과 위치정보를 수집 및 전송하기 때문에 시설물의 정보관리, 유지보수관리, 이력관리 등 원스톱으로 유지관리 업무가 가능하다. 둘째, 유지보수관리는 스마트폰의 위치가 아닌 시설물, 즉, 피사체의 위치 및 사진정보를 기반으로 하기 때문에 시설물의 상태파악 및 빠른 조치가 용이하며, 스마트폰의 앱을 통해 유지보수 관리자에게 접수와 동시에 정보가 전송되기 때문에 효율적이다. 셋째, 시설물의 정보 및 각종 자료와 도면을 데이터베이스로 관리하기 때문에 이력관리 및 데이터의 활용이 용이하다. 넷째, 스마트폰의 앱을 통해 도시민 누구나 쉽게 활용이 가능하기 때문에 별도의 인프라 투자 없이 시설물관리자 기능으로서 확대가 용이하다. 마지막으로 위치 정보 기반으로 도로, 수목, 산책로 등 비 시설물의 관리가 가능하다.
