  • This paper presents design and VLSI implementations of a reassembly processor for ATM/AAL. The assembly processor is responsible for processing ATM cells from the receive physical interface. It controls the transfer of the AAL payload to host memory and performs all necessary SAR and CPCS checks. We propose the improved structure of cell identification algorithm and smart scatter method for host memory management. The proposed cell identification algorithm quickly locates the appropriate reassembly VC table based on the received VPI./VCI channel value in the ATM header. The cell identification algorithm also allow complete freedom in assignment of VCI/VPI values. The reassembly processor uses a smart scatter method to write cell payload data to host memory. It maintains the scatter operation and controls the incoming DMA block during scatter DMA to host memory. The proposed reassembly processor can perform reassembly checks on AAL. OAM cell. For an AAL5 connection, only CPCS checks, including the CRC32, are performed. In this paper, we proposed a practical reassembly architecture. The design of reassembly processor has become feasible using 0.6${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ CMOS gate array technology.

  • The importance of effective delivery of information in the mobile web is increasing in Korea, due to the growing number of smart-phone users. In this study, I took a look at the characteristics of mobile devices and the mobile web, and after researching Korea's portal websites' mobile web designs, we figured out the users' preferences of mobile web designs through surveys and interviews. To provide compressed information on a small screen, it is ideal for significant contents to show up in the state that does not require scrolling. Users preferred compact and neat designs, and menus that were made with icons that are easy to touch with fingers, in the mobile web. When receiving delivered information, users preferred not only texts but texts that were provided together with photograph images. If usability evaluations and examination of preferences are achieved together, I think it will serve as a mobile web guideline that enables efficient delivery of information in the mobile web.

  • In this paper, an integrated control system for removable welfare equipment disinfection is implemented. The integrated control system consisted of a hydrogen peroxide vapor supply control circuit, a sterilization chamber control circuit using low vacuum, and a washing control circuit using microbubble. A Smart-phone based remote control and monitoring system is implemented to monitor the operating status and communication status for the integrated control system. An experiment is set up to evaluate the performance of the integrated control system. The experiment result confirms that signal and operation status can transmit and receive within the control circuit. The integrated control system shows good performance in terms of sensor interface, communication state and control. In future research, the proposed control system should deploy to an actual system for trial test to prove its performance.

  • In case of a emergency situation or a natural disaster, a warning notification system is an essential tool to notify at-risk people in advance and provide them useful information to survive the event. Although some systems have been proposed such as emergency alert system using android, SMS, or P2P overlay network, these works mainly focus on a reliable message distribution methods. In this paper, we proposed a novel design and implementation of a personalized warning notification system to help inform not only the at-risk people but also their family and friends about the coming disaster as well as escape plan and survival information. The system consists of three main modules: the user selection module, the knowledge based message generator, and message distribution modules. The user selection module collects the list of people involved in the event and sorts them based on their level of involvement (their location, working position and social relationships). The knowledge based message generator provides each person with a personalized message that is concise and contains only the necessary information for the particular person based on their working position and their involvement in the event. The message distribution module will then find a best path for sending the personalized messages based on trustiness of locations since network failures may exist in a disaster event. Additionally, the system also have a comprehensive database and an interactive web interface for both user and system administrator. For evaluation, the system was implemented and demonstrated successfully with a building on fire scenario.

  • Objective: The purpose of this study was to identify recent domestic and international research trends regarding shoes carried out in biomechanics field and to suggest the direction of shoe research later. Method: To achieve this goal of research, the Web of Science, Scopus, PubMed, Korea Education and Research Information Service and Korean Citation Index were searched to identify trends in 64 domestic and international research. Also, classified into the interaction of the human body, usability evaluation of functional shoes, smart shoe development research, and suggested the following are the suggestions for future research directions. Conclusion: A study for the coordination of muscle activity, control of motion and prevention of injury should be sought by developing shoes of eco-friendly materials, and scientific evidence such as physical aspects, materials, floor shapes and friction should be supported. Second, a study on elite athletes in various sports is needed based on functional shoes using new materials to improve their performance along with cooperation in muscle activities and prevention of injury. Third, various information and energy production are possible in real time through human behavioral information, and the application of Human Machine Interface (HMI) technology through shoe-sensor-human interaction should be explored.

  • The possibility of adopting vibration-powered wireless nodes has been largely investigated in the last years. Among the available technologies based on the piezoelectric effect, the most common ones consist of a vibrating beam covered by electroactive layers. Another energy harvesting strategy is based on the use of piezoelectric strips attached to a hosting structure subjected to dynamic loads. The hosting structure, for example, can be the system to be equipped with wireless nodes. Such strategy has received few attentions so far and no analytical studies have been presented yet. Hence, the original contribution of the present paper is concerned with the development of analytical solutions for the electrodynamic analysis and design of piezoelectric polymeric strips attached to relatively large linear elastic structural systems subjected to random vibrations at the base. Specifically, it is assumed that the dynamics of the hosting structure is dominated by the fundamental vibration mode only, and thus it is reduced to a linear elastic single-degree-of-freedom system. On the other hand, the random excitation at the base of the hosting structure is simulated by filtering a white Gaussian noise through a linear second-order filter. The electromechanical force exerted by the polymeric strip is negligible compared with other forces generated by the large hosting structure to which it is attached. By assuming a simplified electrical interface, useful new exact analytical expressions are derived to assess the generated electric power and the integrity of the harvester as well as to facilitate its optimum design.

  • As numerous devices are connected through a wireless network, there exist many studies conducted to efficiently connect the devices. While earlier studies often use clustering for efficient device management, there is a load-intensive cluster node which may lead the entire network to be unstable. In order to solve this problem, we propose a scheduling model for centralized unequal chain clustering for efficient management of sensor nodes. For the cluster configuration, this study is based on the cluster head range and the distance to the base station(BS). The main vector projection technique is used to construct clustering with concentricity where the positions of the base stations are not the same. We utilize a multiple radio access interface, multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO), for data transmission. Experiments show that cluster head energy consumption is reduced and network lifetime is improved.

  • In order to treat a disease, it is necessary to take the medication on time, but many people often violate or forget the time they take the medicine. Applications are emerging to solve these problems using information technology. However, for existing applications, it is difficult to use because it provides only a notification functions, user interface is inconvenient, and photo registration of the medication is impossible. To solve these problems, the study developed a smart medicine management application that allows users to set up their taking routines, check if they are taking them, search hospitals and pharmacies, and attach images of medicines they are taking. Through this appliaction, it is possible to reduce the frequency of forgetting the time taken and to take accurate medication by checking the actual image. It also supports the setting of a taking routine to support multiple medications with different taking cycles. It can also provide information about hospital and pharmacies close to their current location to increase access to hospital and pharmacies.
