  • 형상기억합금은 스마트 구조물에서 작동기로 널리 쓰인다. 형상기억합금은 초기변위를 부고 열을 가하게 되면 단위 부피당 큰 회복력과 변위를 발생한다. 형상기억합금의 이론 특성은 인공근육, 작동기, 소음 및 진동감쇠, 형상의 변형 제어 등에 응용될 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 형상기억합금의 3차원 비선형 구성방정식을 이용하여 재료의 거동특성을 해석하고, 형상기억합금이 부착된 스마트구조로 응용될 수 있는 공기 흡입 덕트, 항공기 및 잠수함 동체 등의 구조를 압력이 존재하는 원형 및 복원을 해석하였다. 수치해석결과, 형상기억합금 엑츄에이터가 내압 하에서 작동하자 단면은 변형전의 모습(낮은 응력상태)으로 회복되었다.

Development of a Peristaltic Micropump with Lightweight Piezo-Composite Actuator Membrane Valves

  • A peristaltic micropump with lightweight piezo-composite actuator (LIPCA) membrane valves is presented. The micropump contained three cylinder chambers that were connected by microchannels and two active membrane valves. A circular miniature LIPCA was developed and manufactured to be used as actuating diaphragms. The LIPCA diaphragm acted as an active membrane valve that alternate between open and closed positions at the inlet and outlet in order to produce high pumping pressure. In this LIPCA, a lead zirconium titanate ceramic with a thickness of 0.1 mm was used as an active layer. The results confirmed that the actuator produced a large out-of-plane deflection. During the design process, a coupled field analysis was conducted in order to predict the actuating behavior of the LIPCA diaphragm; the behavior of the actuator was investigated from both a theoretical and experimental perspective. The active membrane valve concept was introduced as a means for increasing pumping pressure, and microelectromechanical system techniques were used to fabricate the peristaltic micropump. The pumping performance was analyzed experimentally in terms of the flow rate, pumping pressure and power consumption.

  • Home Entertainment system is recently being offered by Home Theater & Smart TV with contents service. Also, console game is being played in the media like in TV. The usage of 4D as the main technology in entertainment industry has mostly been limited in Theme Park, Amuse Park, Theater, and contents for Movie and Animation. Some simulation systems for game has been developed but they were made mostly by using electric or hydraulic motion system which cause high power consumption and have a restriction of place for install. The paper is attempted to build Home Entertainment system which makes users feel realistic contents by developing 4D systems for Home Entertainment rather than before. 4D control S/W in which user can insert and edit 4D effects on contents of all areas such as game, movie, and broadcasting is developed. Also, built-in pneumatic cylinder in 4D system which can be easily controlled and managed in home is developed.

  • In this study the characteristics of E-EGR valve developed by electrical method were analysed and the feasibility of application to vehicles was evaluated. The engine of smart car applied for diesel passenger car of small-displacement size developed by common vehicle was used for this experiment. It was installed a 3-cylinder, $0.8\ell$, turbo-charged light duty diesel engine with an electronic EGR valve. After the analysis and comparison of E-EGR valve performance by test bench, the estimation of vehicle application was executed through the EGR map and CVS-75 test result measured on the chassis dynamometer.

  • In this study the characteristics of E-EGR valve developed by UNICK were analyzed and the feasibility of application to vehicles were evaluated. Smart car(3L/100km, cdi version) and engine which is small-displacement size, 0.8-liter, of diesel passenger car developed from Mercedes-Benz were used for this experiment. It was installed a 3-cylinder turbo-charged light duty diesel engine with an electronic EGR valve. After the analysis and comparison of E-EGR valve performance under test benchs, the estimation of vehicle application was executed through the EGR map and CVS-75 test result measured on the chassis dynamometer.

Fuzzy modelling approach for shear strength prediction of RC deep beams

  • This study discusses the use of Adaptive-Network-Based-Fuzzy-Inference-System (ANFIS) in predicting the shear strength of reinforced-concrete deep beams. 139 experimental data have been collected from renowned publications on simply supported high strength concrete deep beams. The results show that the ANFIS has strong potential as a feasible tool for predicting the shear strength of deep beams within the range of the considered input parameters. ANFIS's results are highly accurate, precise and therefore, more satisfactory. Based on the Sensitivity analysis, the shear span to depth ratio (a/d) and concrete cylinder strength ($f_c^{\prime}$) have major influence on the shear strength prediction of deep beams. The parametric study confirms the increase in shear strength of deep beams with an equal increase in the concrete strength and decrease in the shear span to-depth-ratio.

Development of exothermic system based on internet of things for preventing damages in winter season and evaluation of applicability to railway vehicles

  • Gravel scattering that is generated during operation of high-speed railway vehicle is cause to damage of vehicle such as windows, axle protector and so on. Especially, those are frequently occurred in winter season when snow ice is generated easily. Above all, damage of vehicle windows has not only caused maintenance cost but also increased psychological anxiety of passengers. Various methods such as heating system using copper wire, heating jacket and heating air are applied to remove snow ice generated on the under-body of vehicle. However, the methods require much run-time and man power which can be low effectiveness of work. Therefore, this paper shows that large-area heating system was developed based on heating coat in order to fundamentally prevent snow ice damage on high-speed railway vehicle in the winter season. This system gives users high convenience because that can remotely control the heating system using IoT-based wireless communication. For evaluating the applicability to railroad sites, a field test on an actual high-speed railroad operation was conducted by applying these techniques to the brake cylinder of a high-speed railroad vehicle. From the results, it evaluated how input voltage and electric power per unit area of the heating specimen influences exothermic performance to draw the permit power condition for icing. In the future, if the system developed in the study is applied at the railroad site, it may be used as a technique for preventing all types of damages occurring due to snow ice in winter.

벽면에 부착된 사각 실린더 주변 유동에 대한 난류모델 비교연구 (The Comparison of Various Turbulence Models of the Flow around a Wall Mounted Square Cylinder)

  • 본 논문에서는 건물, 교량 및 해양구조물에 많이 적용되는 기본적인 형상인 벽면에 부착되어 있는 사각실린더 주변의 유동에 대해, 3개의 난류모델(v2-f 모델, k-ω 모델, k-ε 모델)을 적용하여 URANS 수치해석을 각각 수행하고, 그 결과를 비교하였다. 이 유동은 물체의 모서리에서 발생하는 칼만 와(karman vortex) 때문에 본질적으로 강한 비정상성을 가지고 있으며, 물체의 후류 영역에서도 매우 복잡한 유동구조를 가지고 있다고 알려져 있다. 3개의 난류모델이 적용된 수치해석으로부터 예측되는 평균 유동장과 지배적인 유동의 주파수를 Wang et al.(2004; 2006)의 실험결과와 비교하였다. 비교 결과, v2-f 모델이 적용된 URANS 결과가 실험결과와 가장 유사한 결과를 보여주었고, k-ω 모델도 우수한 결과를 보인 반면, k-ε 모델은 본 대상 유동에 적용하기에 부족함을 확인하였다. 따라서 강한 박리가 존재하는 유동의 해석 시에는 v2-f 모델은 좋은 선택이다. 그리고 유동의 박리 제어를 위한 연구에 활용될 것으로 기대된다.

콘크리트 양생 강도 모니터링을 위한 매립형 지능형 센서의 적용성 연구 (A Study on Applicability of Embedded Smart Sensor for Concrete Curing Monitoring)

  • 이 논문은 고강도 콘크리트의 양생 강도 발현을 모니터링하기 위하여 콘크리트 내부에 매립이 가능한 지능형 센서를 제작하고 제작된 지능형 센서를 이용하여 콘크리트 내부의 유도 초음파 전달 시간을 측정함으로써, 콘크리트의 양생 강도를 실시간 추정할 수 있는 기법을 보여준다. 압전 소자를 콘크리트 내부에 삽입하는데 있어, 콘크리트의 수화열과 양생 시의 미세 변형으로부터 보호되어야 하므로, 방수 코팅과 모르타르 케이싱을 하였으며 이렇게 제작된 지능형 센서로부터 저비용의 셀프 센싱 기반 유도 초음파를 계측하여 콘크리트 내부의 유도 초음파 전달 시간을 모니터링하는 기법을 제안하였다. 콘크리트의 양생이 진행됨에 따라 콘크리트의 강도가 증가하게 되는데, 이는 즉 콘크리트의 탄성 계수가 증가하기 때문이며 이로 인해, 유도 초음파의 전달 시간이 빨라지는 것이므로, 이를 측정하여 콘크리트 양생 강도를 추정할 수 있게 된다. 제안된 기법의 적용가능성을 검증하기 위하여 설계 압축강도 100 MPa의 공시체 내부에 지능형 센서를 매립하고 양생기간 동안 유도 초음파를 측정, 비교 분석하였다. 유도 초음파 신호는 양생이 진행됨에 따라 더 빠르게 전달되었으며, 특히 강도 변화가 급격하게 일어나는 초기 재령에서의 유도 초음파 전달속도 변화가 가장 크게 나타났고 그 이후로 점차 감소하는 경향을 보여주었다. 또한, 유도 초음파 전달 시간과 강도 사이의 선형 상관관계를 이용하여 유도 초음파의 전달 시간을 이용해 발현강도를 추정하는 콘크리트 양생강도 추정식을 제안하였다. 결과적으로 이 연구를 통해 개발된 매립형 지능형 센서를 이용하여 고강도 콘크리트의 양생 강도를 실시간 모니터링할 수 있음이 검증되었다.

자기장 영향에 따른 자기유변탄성체의 구름 마찰 특성 연구 (A Study on Rolling Friction Characteristics of Magneto-Rheological Elastomer under Magnetic Fields)

  • Magneto-rheological elastomer (MR elastomer) is a smart material, because it has mechanical properties that change under a magnetic field. An MR elastomer changes its stiffness characteristics when the inner particles (iron particles) align along the direction of a magnetic field. There has been much research to make use of this characteristic to control vibration issues in various mechanical systems, such as for mounting systems in the automotive field, home appliances, etc. Furthermore, the friction and wear properties of MR elastomer have been studied, as these relate to the durability of the material needed to meet engineering requirements. Rolling friction (or rolling resistance) is one of these friction properties, but has not yet been studied in the context of MR elastomers. In this study, an MR elastomer is fabricated in the shape of a hollow cylinder to evaluate the rolling friction characteristic under a magnetic field. The test apparatus is setup and a strain gauge is used to calculate the rolling resistance under test conditions. Permanent magnets are used to supply the magnetic field during tests. The load and rolling speed conditions are also considered for the tests. The test results show that rolling friction characteristic has a different trend under different magnetic field, load, and rolling speed conditions. It is assumed that the stiffness change of an MR elastomer under a magnetic field has an effect on the rolling friction characteristic of the MR elastomer. For the future work, the rolling friction characteristics of MR elastomers will be controlled by adjusting the strength of the magnetic field using electromagnets.
