  • The property of the mobile phone is taking important role to choose it. In the present situation, exploring, comparing and analyzing the important properties of regular mobile phone(feature phone) and smart phone are very meaningful study. Therefore, the survey was carried out to get the properties of feature phone and smart phone and analyze the difference of those phones. And proposed the important variables for customer satisfaction which must be given priority. The result showed that 'design' and 'Quality' are important to both mobile phone user groups. The problems with mobile phones currently in use were 'poor performance' to feature phone users and 'expensive charge' and 'poor A/S' to smart phone users. Two groups also showed significant difference with the customer satisfactions, and smart phone user group showed higher satisfaction. For smart phone user group, four factors are induced from the properties but 'Hardware Quality' (representing 'call Quality', 'A/S', 'Convenience to use', 'Battery life') and 'Design & Function'(representing 'Internet', 'Convergence Functions', 'Design, 'Color') have significant and positive effects on Customer Satisfaction.

  • Recently, wearable computers equipped with various biosensors such as smart watches, smart bands, and smart patches that support daily health management of users as well as patients have been released. Users of wearable computers such as smart watches face various difficulties in performing biometric information processes such as data sensing, collection, transmission, real-time analysis, and feedback in a weak wireless and mobile biometric information service environment. In particular, the biometric information collection interface is an important basic process that determines the quality and performance of the entire biometric information service. So far, research has focused on sensing hardware and logic. This study intensively considers the interface method for effectively sensing and collecting raw biometric information. In particular, the process of collecting biometric information is designed and analyzed from the perspective of periodicity. Therefore, we propose an efficient and stable periodic collection method.

  • As smart convergence occurs, solving the digital divide issue for weak layers such as the elderly, handicapped and poor groups is becoming an emerging issue. This study aims to promote information service to encourage active participation of the weak layers and to bridge the digital divide among those under the digital switchover and the smart phone convergence environments. This study, comparing the environments of Korea and other major countries with respect to digital divide, found some differences and tried to suggest proper policies for Korea to remain as a leading IT country. We expect this study to help the government, industries, schools cope with the divide issues and establish proper policies to provide weak layers with equal opportunities to IT in the coming smart convergence era.

  • The security of the data dealt by the smart city system is important because they have many privacy and public information. Therefore, it is necessary to study security in the smart city system. In this paper, we define the security factors for the smart city system composed of three tiers and describe the technologies for each. In addition, the design and implementation of the security layer in the Smart City middleware for the security management of the urban component in the Smart City Infrastructure and middleware, which is one of the most important issues in the Smart City system, is introduced.

  • Home appliance manufacturers have recently been trying to provide smart products capable of various Internet services. For example, one health care manufacturer provides a Wi-Fi-capable scale. Once users register their information with the manufacturer's server, their weight and body fat records are automatically uploaded to the server whenever they measure their weight. The users can then watch and check their weight log easily using a smart device, such as a smartphone or tablet. One of the biggest problems, however, is that the initial configuration of the appliances and the user registration process may be quite complicated to typical users who are unfamiliar with such IT devices. This paper proposes an autoconfiguration system structure and protocol for Internet-capable home appliances, which supports the initial configuration and remote maintenance service of the device with only little user effort. Manufacturers can develop their own information appliances and provide differentiated services using the proposed system and protocol.

  • This study was to identify the correlation between dry eye syndrome, upper extremity pain, depression and addictive smart phone use among college students. Data were collected from 286 college students using a self-report questionnaire. 15.0% of participants have an addictive smart phone use. There were significant differences by dry eye syndrome(t=-4.38, p<.001), neck pain(t=-2.60, p<.05) and depression(t=-4.15, p<.001) according to the addictive smart phone use. Dry eye syndrome(r=.332, p<.001), neck pain(r=.143, p<.05), hand pain(r=.138, p<.05) and depression(r=.402, p<.001) were positively related to addictive smart phone use. Strategies to diminish depression, and to prevent dry eye syndrome and neck pain in college students will be an important intervention component to prevent addictive smart phone use and health problems in future studies.

  • As the convergence technology is developing rapidly and the portable mobile devices are spreading in ubiquitous smart healthcare, users were able to get medical information easily through the smart health platform. According to such rapid industrialization, wellness care, aging society, information society, changes in disease aspects and life style, user-centered healthcare, and health promotion contents are being offered. In this study, we proposed the mining based mental health and blood pressure management service for the smart health. The proposed method provides the mental health management service and the blood pressure management service for chronic disease patients within the mining based smart health platform. Users receive optimized healthcare services regardless of time and place in the PHR based smart health platform. For the performance evaluation of the proposed mining based mental health and blood pressure management service, F-measure verification are conducted.

  • In this study, the deformation and stress on each model was analyzed and the strength was compared with each other when the impacts on a total of four smart phone models was given. Models B and D with cases can be seen to have less deformation and stress than models A and C without cases. The models including the case have higher masses than the models without the case. So, the deformation and stress can be reduced by absorbing the impact force. In addition, the masses of models C and D are smaller than models A and B, but the stresses and deformations are seen to be smaller. If a case specialized for edge protection is chosen and designed when manufacturing a smart-phone in order to absorb the shock while weighing less, it is thought to improve the strength of the smart-phone and increase the durability. And it is seen that this study is adequate at the efficient design with durability of smart phone case practically and the aesthetic convergence of smart phone.
