The purpose of this study is to enhance the creative activity of youth through coding programs on the subject of Arduino. In order to achieve the purpose of the research, it studies the development of coding education based on Arduino, which is cheaper and generally available for universal use. In addition, in order to verify the program, it applies to the 12 schools in Gwangju Jeonnam and produces the improvements. The results of the study are as follows : first, the coding education program centered on Arduino was developed from a fusion perspective through a procedural model(plan - design - action - evaluation - improvement) and applied to a pilot class. Second, the effectiveness of the student satisfaction survey and the interviews of teachers were analyzed. Third, the improvement of the coding education program is accepted and applied to the next program.
The effectiveness of the various control algorithms for semi-active structural control systems proposed in the literature is highly questionable when dealing with earthquake actions, which never reach a steady state. From this perspective, the paper summarizes the results of an experimental activity aimed to compare the effectiveness of four different semi-active control algorithms on a structural mock up representative of a class of structural systems particularly prone to seismic actions. The controlled structure is a near full scale 2-story steel frame, equipped with two semi-active bracing systems including two magnetorheological dampers designed and manufactured in Europe. A set of earthquake records has been applied at the base of the structure, by utilizing a shaking table facility. Experimental results are compared in terms of displacements, absolute accelerations and energy dissipation capability. A further analysis on the percentage incidence of undesired and/or unpredictable operations corresponding to each algorithm gives an insight on some factors affecting the reliability and, in turn, the real effectiveness of semi-active structural control systems.
This research points out the necessity of customized communication education for engineering students in the era of the Fourth Industrial Revolution. This paper also points out such problems of current communication education as presentation and discussion-focused 'Public Speech' exercises, absence of interests about social issues, and lack of interactive communication learning. In general, as the characteristics of their major education, engineering students are not aggressive in self-questioning and active communication rather than their sensitive reaction to the changes of the new era. Considering these characteristics of engineering students, this research emphasizes that future communication education should be deployed from the major-focused thinking to the development of convergent thinking, from the problem-solving to the problem-finding, and from the contentious thinking to the cooperative thinking. In addition, as a class design reflecting future trends, this research emphasizes, firstly the development of cooperative communication education model, secondly active utilization of SMART technology, and lastly the importance of customized-coaching for each student considering their own characteristics and requirements.

Location-Based Services(LBS) are a general class of computer program-level services used to include specific controls for location data as control features in computer programs. In recent years, the number of smart device(Smart Phone, Tablet PC etc.) users growth was exponential. For that reason, using rate of LBS has drastically increased. The most important thing of LBS is security. Personal information, especially private information likes illness, should not be disclosed. In this paper shows how to attack LBS and how to defense it.
The term 'shape memory polymers (SMPs)' describes a class of polymers which can remember the original shape and recover from deformed to its original shape by the applied stimuli, e.g., heat, electricity, magnetic field, light, etc. SMPs are classified as one of the 'smart polymers' and have great potentials as high-value-added materials. Especially, low thermal, electrical, and mechanical properties of SMPs can be improved by incorporating the various fillers. This paper aims to review the SMPs and their basic principles, and the trends of the development of SMPs nanocomposites.

This paper has been focused on developing a new hybrid mount for shipboard equipment used in naval surface ships and submarines. While the hybrid mount studied in our previous research was 100 kg-class series-type mount, the new hybrid mount has been designed as an inertia-type mount capable of supporting a static of 500 kg. The proposed mount consists of a commercial rubber resilient mount, a piezostack actuator and an inertial mass. The piezostack actuator connected with the inertial mass generates actively the control force. The performances of the proposed mount with a newly designed specific controller have been evaluated in accordance with US military specifications and compared with the passive mount. An isolation system consisting of four proposed mounts and auxiliary devices has been also tested. Through a series of experimental tests, it has been confirmed that the proposed mount provides better performance than the US Navy's standard passive mounts.

There are emerging issues to update the educational environment for schools in terms of information and communication technology in order to provide customized programs to students as well as all participants relating to learning and teaching. The past year has been turbulent as the education facilities has changed and new procurement processes such as BTL have emerged. In this study, the feasibility analysis of ICT for the public educational environment is to analyse the current primary schools by means of collecting parent's opinion. In the web-site questionnaires, it was designed with 70 items such as teaching method, class organization, aptitude drill and educational community. As results, the statistical analysis is to propose the list of priority and orientation covering social agenda in the issue of ICT for education, the benefits schools can achieve by smart environment is to have the advanced learning services and solutions that represents parental engagement with identical local aims of interactive interface between their students and qualified teachers at a school. Both the national curriculum as well as the after-school program initiatives from the ministry of education, science and technology may reduce negative effects of private education so that the program has to be carefully developed for balanced education society revitalizing mutual communication within regional learning participants such as students, teachers and educational experts.

Physical computing, a concrete operational activity using tools, can help children to understand principles of computer science by observing interactions between a computer and the real world directly. This study aims to design and develop an android application to utilize students' smart phones as a tool of physical computing education. The application includes one class designed to collect data using android smart phone sensors and another designed to transfer the data to a computer which students can use to learn programming. The physical computing application can be used to help students understand the principles of computer science more easily in schools not equipped with physical computing tools.

Object detection models have become the current tool of choice for plant disease detection in precision agriculture. Most existing research improves the performance by ameliorating networks and optimizing the loss function. However, the data-centric part of a whole project also needs more investigation. In this paper, we proposed a systematic strategy with three different annotation methods for plant disease detection: local, semi-global, and global label. Experimental results on our paprika disease dataset show that a single class annotation with semi-global boxes may improve accuracy. In addition, we also studied the noise factor during the labeling process. An ablation study shows that annotation noise within 10% is acceptable for keeping good performance. Overall, this data-centric numerical analysis helps us to understand the significance of annotation methods, which provides practitioners a way to obtain higher performance and reduce annotation costs on plant disease detection tasks. Our work encourages researchers to pay more attention to label quality and the essential issues of labeling methods.
Alzheimer's disease (AD) symptoms are being treated by early diagnosis, where we can only slow the symptoms and research is still undergoing. In consideration, using T1-weighted images several classification models are proposed in Machine learning to identify AD. In this paper, we consider the improvised feature selection, to reduce the complexity by using wrapping techniques and Restricted Boltzmann Machine (RBM). This present work used the subcortical and cortical features of 278 subjects from the ADNI dataset to identify AD and sMRI. Multi-class classification is used for the experiment i.e., AD, EMCI, LMCI, HC. The proposed feature selection consists of Forward feature selection, Backward feature selection, and Combined PCA & RBM. Forward and backward feature selection methods use an iterative method starting being no features in the forward feature selection and backward feature selection with all features included in the technique. PCA is used to reduce the dimensions and RBM is used to select the best feature without interpreting the features. We have compared the three models with PCA to analysis. The following experiment shows that combined PCA &RBM, and backward feature selection give the best accuracy with respective classification model RF i.e., 88.65, 88.56% respectively.
