멀티미디어 시스템을 위한 확장된 ATA 인터페이스 설계 (A Design on the Extended ATA Interface for Multimedia Systems)

  • 본 논문에서는 PC에서 사용하고 있는 주변기기를 연결하기 위한 범용 인터페이스의 성능과 구조를 개선하기 위하여 ATA(AT Attachment Interface with Extension)의 성능 및 SCSI(Small Computer System Interface)의 지능적인 동작의 장점들을 결합한 확장된 ATA 인터페이스를 구현하였다. SCSI버스는 지능적인 동작을 수행하는 주변기기를 위한 버스로써 잘 정리된 명령체계와 안정된 하드웨어 구조를 갖는 우수한 버스이다. 그러나 가격이 ATA주변기기에 비하여 2배 이상 차이나기 때문에 경제적으로 부담을 갖는다. 반면에 ATA주변기기는 초기에는 저성능이었으나, 개선 후 속도 측면에서 SCSI에 근접하고 경제적 측면에서도 우수하다. 본 논문에서는 이와 같은 장점을 이용하여 경제적 특성과 성능을 모두 만족시킬 수 있는 개선된 인터페이스 구조를 제안하고 하드웨어로 구현하였다.

The Numerical Simulation of Unsteady Flow in a Mixed flow Pump Guide Vane

  • In order to investigate the characteristics of unsteady flow in a mixed flow pump guide vane under the small flow conditions, several indicator points in a mixed flow pump guide vane was set, the three-dimensional unsteady turbulence numerical value of the mixed flow pump which is in the whole flow field will be calculated by means of the large eddy simulation (LES), sub-grid scale model and sliding mesh technology. The experimental results suggest that the large eddy simulation can estimate the positive slope characteristic of head & capacity curve. And the calculation results show that the pressure fluctuation coefficients of the middle section in guide vane inlet will decrease firstly and then increase. In guide vane outlet, the pressure fluctuation coefficients of section will be approximately axially symmetrical distribution. The pressure fluctuation minimum of section in guide vane inlet is above the middle location of the guide vane suction surface, and the pressure fluctuation minimum of section in which located the middle and outlet of guide vane. When it is under the small flow operating condition, the eddy scale of guide vane is larger, and the pressure fluctuation of the channel in guide vane being cyclical fluctuations obviously which leads to the area of eddy expanding to the whole channel from the suction side. The middle of the guide vane suction surface of the minimum amplitude pressure fluctuation to which the vortex core of eddy scale whose direction of fluid's rotation is the same to impeller in the guide vane adhere.

폴리스티렌-폴리(메틸 메타크릴레이트) 이종 블록 공중합체 내의 단일중합체 분포 (Homopolymer Distribution in Polystyrene - Poly(methyl methacrylate) Diblock Copolymer)

  • 블록 공중합체/단일중합체 블렌드에서 단일중합체의 농도와 분자량 변화에 따른 단일중합체의 분포 경향을 알아 보았다. 중수소화 폴리(메틸 메타크릴레이트) 또는 폴리스티렌을 중수소화 폴리스티렌-폴리(메틸 메타크릴레이트) 이중 블록 공중합체에 20 wt%까지 혼입하였다. 시료들은 소각 X-선 산란, 중성자 반사율 및 투과 전자 현미경으로 조사하였다. 실리콘 웨이퍼에 스핀 코팅하여 얇은 필름 상으로 제조한 블록 공중합체는 기질 표면에 대해 평행하게 배향된 라멜라 모폴로지를 형성하였다. 블록 공중합체의 미세 도메인 구조는 단일중합체의 부가에 의해 상당히 교란되었다. 그 결과로 단일중합체의 농도가 15 wt% 이상인 경우에는 배열 질서도가 낮은 라멜라 모폴로지가 나타났다. 단일공중합체의 농도나 분자량이 증가하면 단일중합체가 미세 도메인을 불균일하게 팽윤시키면서 보다 많은 단일중합체가 미세 도메인의 중앙 부위로 이동하였다.

Evaluation of circulating IGF-I and IGFBP-3 as biomarkers for tumors in dogs

  • Background: Serum-based parameters are considered non-invasive biomarkers for cancer detection. In human studies, insulin-like growth factor-I and II (IGF-I and IGF-II) and insulin-like growth factor binding protein-3 (IGFBP-3) are useful as diagnostic or prognostic markers and potential therapeutic targets. Objectives: This study examined the diagnostic utility of circulating IGF-I, IGF-II, and IGFBP-3 levels in healthy dogs and dogs with tumors. Methods: The serum concentrations of these biomarkers in 86 dogs with tumors were compared with those in 30 healthy dogs using an enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Results: The ELISA results showed no difference between healthy dogs and dogs with tumors in the serum IGF-II concentrations. On the other hand, there was a significant difference in the circulating IGF-I and IGFBP-3 levels between healthy dogs and dogs with tumors. The concentrations of serum IGF-I (median [interquartile range], 103.4 [59.5-175] ng/mL) in dogs with epithelial tumors were higher than those (58.4 ng/mL [43.5-79.9]) in healthy dogs. Thus, the concentrations of serum IGFBP-3 (43.4 ng/mL [33.2-57.2]) in dogs with malignant mesenchymal tumors were lower than those (60.8 ng/mL [47.6-70.5]) in healthy dogs. Conclusions: The serum IGF-I and IGFBP-3 levels can be used as diagnostic biomarkers in dogs with tumors.

중소기업의 SCM활동과 프로세스 혁신 및 품질성과 간의 구조적 관계 분석 (A Study on the Structural Relationship between SCM Activity and Process Innovation, and Quality Performance in SMEs)

  • 본 연구는 중소기업의 SCM활동과 프로세스 혁신 및 품질 성과간의 구조적 관계를 밝히는데 목적을 둔 연구로써 중소제조업 중에서 SCM활동을 수행하는 SCM운영책임자와 실무담당자 354명을 표본으로 실증 조사 하였다. 그 결과 요약하면 다음과 같다. 전체적으로 중소기업의 SCM활동과 프로세스 혁신이 품질성과간의 구조적 관계는 상호상관성을 갖고 유의적인 영향력을 갖는 관계임을 실증해 주었다. 이는 중소기업의 SCM활동의 전략적 제휴와 기술개발 중심의 역량집중화로 구성원의 정보공유를 통해 결집력을 조직화할 수 있음을 의미한다. 이는 곧 이를 통해 기술역량을 높이고 정보 통합의 공유된 정보시스템의 호환성과 신뢰성이 뒷받침된다면 프로세스 혁신을 통해 구조화된 공정, 관리, 물류의 품질성과로서의 비재무적 비용감소, 제품품질, 납기 준수, 재고비용 감소로 나타남을 시사해준 것으로 평가할 수 있다.

전라남도 남해안 도서식물상의 도서생물 지리학적 특성 (Island-Biogeographical Characteristics of Insular Flora in Southern Sea of Jeollanamdo, Korea)

  • Present work aims to establish the countermeasure for the better maintenance and preservation of insular floristic diversity at the South Sea of Jeollanamdo Province, ROK, where unique ecosystems are under threat due to climate change, anthropogenic disturbance and habitat destruction. Numerous flora reports from 15 inhabited islands and 60 uninhabited islands as well as field survey data are collated for the compilation of floristic data base and island biogeographical analysis. Out of the 1,940 vascular plant species from 180 families occurring in studies areas, 30.1 percentage or 584 plant species are physiognomically belonging to arboreal plants. Average number of species at individual island is numbered about 222 species, but it varies from about 591 species at the inhabited islands to 129 species at the uninhabited islands. Only 0.15 percentage of species with high proportion above 0.9 in its relative occurrence rate occurs at 68 islands and it includes three species, such as Pinus thunbergii, Eurya japonica and Pteridium aquilinum var. latiusculum. However, about 68 percentage of plant species occurring in study area is confined their distribution to less than seven islands. Presence of high proportion of notable plants in small islands, i.e., 10 critically endangered species compared with 5.5 species in average, 9 endangered species (average 4.2 spp.) at Sonjookdo, and 7 critically endangered species, 8 endangered species at Sokomundo may due to existence of diverse geological and topographical environmental diversity as well as lower human population density and remoteness from the mainland. Since island is small in size and geographically isolated, minor environmental and ecological burdens can cause the critical damages to the diversity of flora and vegetation, urgent island biogeographical research is needed for the scientific conservation and management of island biodiversity.

Valeriana jatamansi Jones Inhibits Rotavirus-Induced Diarrhea via Phosphatidylinositol 3-Kinase/Protein Kinase B Signaling Pathway

  • Rotavirus (RV), as the main cause of diarrhea in children under 5 years, contributes to various childhood diseases. Valeriana jatamansi Jones is a traditional Chinese herb and possesses antiviral effects. In this study we investigated the potential mechanisms of V. jatamansi Jones in RV-induced diarrhea. MTT assay was performed to evaluate cell proliferation and the diarrhea mice model was constructed using SA11 infection. Mice were administered V. jatamansi Jones and ribavirin. Diarrhea score was used to evaluate the treatment effect. The enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay was performed to detect the level of cytokines. Western blot and quantitative reverse transcription-PCR were used to determine protein and mRNA levels, respectively. Hematoxylin-eosin staining was applied to detect the pathological change of the small intestine. TdT-mediated dUTP nick-end labeling was conducted to determine the apoptosis rate. The results showed V. jatamansi Jones promoted MA104 proliferation. V. jatamansi Jones downregulated phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase (PI3K) and protein kinase B (AKT) in protein level, which was consistent with the immunohistochemistry results. Moreover, V. jatamansi Jones combined with ribavirin regulated interleukin-1β (IL-1β), interferon γ, IL-6, tumor necrosis factor α, and IL-10, and suppressed secretory immunoglobulin A secretion to remove viruses and inhibit dehydration. V. jatamansi Jones + ribavirin facilitated the apoptosis of small intestine cells. In conclusion, V. jatamansi Jones may inhibit RV-induced diarrhea through PI3K/AKT signaling pathway, and could therefore be a potential therapy for diarrhea.

2020~2022년간 경상남도의 한우와 젖소의 소 결핵병 및 브루 셀라병의 발생률 (Incidence of bovine tuberculosis and Brucellosis in Hanwoo (Korean native cattle) and dairy cow in Gyeonsangnam-do province from 2020 to 2022)

  • In the present study, the incidence of bovine tubeculosis (bTB) and brucellosis in Hanwoo (Korean native cattle) and dairy cow in Gyeongsangnam-do was investigated for three years from 2020 to 2022. The incidence bTB tested by tuberculin skin test with purified protein derivative (PPD) and gamma interferon (γ-INF) test with a commercial enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. From 2020 to 2022, the incidence of bTB showed a decreasing trend in Hanwoo, while an increasing trend in dairy cow. In the case of Brucellosis, the positive rates for Hanwooe gradually increased. However, no brucellosis was found in dairy cow from 2020 to 2022. The increase in the incidence of these diseases is presumed to be related the small scale and poor sanitation facilities of livestock farms in Gyeongsangnam-do, and easy access of wild animals. Therefore, in order to suppress the incidence of the diseases, it is necessary to the farm scale from small to large and to strengthen sanitary facilities on farms.

Analysis of cavity expansion based on general strength criterion and energy theory

  • This study presents an energy analysis for large-strain cavity expansion problem based on the general strength criterion and energy theory. This study focuses on the energy dissipation problem during the cavity expansion process, dividing the soil mass around the cavity into an elastic region and a plastic region. Assuming compliance with the small deformation theory in the elastic region and the large deformation theory in the plastic region, combined with the general strength criterion of soil mass and energy theory, the energy dissipation solution for cavity expansion problem is derived. Firstly, from an energy perspective, the process of cavity expansion in soil mass is described as an energy conversion process. The energy dissipation mechanism is introduced into the traditional analysis of cavity expansion, and a general analytical solution for cavity expansion related to energy is derived. Subsequently, based on this general analytical solution of cavity expansion, the influence of different strength criterion, large-strain, expansion radius, cavity shape and characteristics of soil mass on the stress distribution, displacement field and energy evolution around the cavity is studied. Finally, the effectiveness and reliability of theoretical solution is verified by comparing the results of typical pressure-expansion curves with existing literature algorithms. The results indicate that different strength criterion have a relatively small impact on the displacement and strain field around the cavity, but a significant impact on the stress distribution and energy evolution around the cavity.

웹 사이트의 구조와 항해가능성 (The Structure of a Web site and Navigability)

  • 항해가능성은 사용자가 웹 사이트에서 원하는 정보를 얼마나 찾기 쉬운지를 말하며 웹 사이트구조에 영향을 받는다. 본 논문에서는 세 종류의 웹 사이트, 즉 작은 세상 구조의 웹 사이트, 준 매트로이드 구조의 웹 사이트, 그리고 온톨로지를 이용한 웹 사이트를 제작하고 각 웹 사이트의 항해 가능성을 두 가지 기준 (사용자가 원하는 정보를 찾기 위해 클릭한 하이퍼링크의 수 및 원하는 정보를 찾기 위해 걸린 시간) 으로 측정하였다. 세가지 구조를 선택한 이유는 각 구조마다 사용자가 정보를 찾기에 도움이 될 수 있도록 하이퍼링크를 만들 수 있기 때문이다. 실험 결과, 한 사용자가 정보를 찾기까지 거쳐 간 링크의 평균 개수는 준 매트로이드 구조의 웹 사이트 (100.37개) < 온톨로지 구조의 웹 사이트 (117.63개) < 작은 세상 구조의 웹 사이트 (236.17개) 순으로 나왔다. 그리고 한 사용자가 정보를 찾는데 소요된 평균 시간은 온톨로지 구조의 웹 사이트 (20분 26초) < 준 매트로이드 구조의 웹 사이트 (23분 6초) < 작은 세상 구조의 웹 사이트(30분 47초) 였다. 따라서 준 매트로이드 구조나 온톨로지 기반 구조의 웹 사이트가 상대적으로 작은 세상 구조의 웹 사이트보다 항해가능 하다고 볼 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 실험 결과를 어떻게 교육용 웹 사이트 설계에 적용할 수 있을 지도 제안하였다.
