The temperature dependence of the partition coefficients of a neuropeptide, substance P (SP), in isotropic acidic bicelles was investigated by using a pulsed field gradient nuclear magnetic resonance diffusion technique. The addition of negatively charged dimyristoylphosphatidylserine to the neutral bicelle changed the SP partitioning a little, which implies that the hydrophobic interaction between the hydrophobic residues of SP and the acyl chains of lipid molecules is the major interaction while the electrostatic interaction is minor in SP binding in a lipid membrane. From the temperature dependence of the partition coefficients, thermodynamic functions were calculated. The partitioning of SP into the acidic bicelles is enthalpy-driven, as it is for small unilamellar vesicles and dodecylphosphocholine micelles, while peptide partitioning into a large unilamellar vesicle is entropy-driven. This may mean that the size of lipid membranes is a more important factor for peptide binding than the surface curvature and surface charge density.

As a point that should be improved further in present SART, the size, the number, and the economy were enumerated. Some SART developed to solve them in Japan were introduced in this paper. That is automatically operating SART, circular polarization SART and so on. In addition, One Mile SART was mentioned. It is SART miniaturized instead of limiting the function, because all crews and passengers can always carry the small and light SART. The parts were made for trial purposes and the performance was confirmed.

Thin films of undoped and Ga-doped zinc oxide have been prepared by rf sputtering. The films deposited on substrates, which have a columnar structure with the c-axis perpendicular to the substrate surface, consist of very small crystal grains (500-1000 ${\AA}$). Considering doping effects, the electrical resistivity of Ga-doped films decreased by an order of $10^3$ compared to undoped films and the optical transmission was above 80% in the visible range and the optical band gap widened as the Ga content increased.

This paper deals with the dynamic stability of a vertical cantilevered pipe conveying fluid and having two attached masses. Some valves or other mechanical components in pipe systems can be regarded as attached lumped masses. Governing equations are derived by energy expressions, and numerical technique using Galerkin's method is applied to discretize the equations of small motion of the pipe. Effects of attached masses on the dynamic stability of a vertical cantilevered pipe conveying fluid are investigated for various locations and magnitudes of the attached lumped masses.

소표본 분할표 자료에서 적합도 검정통계량들의 카이제곱 근사 적용 가능에 대하여 많은 연구가 진행되었다. 소표본에서 세 가지 검정 통계량(피어슨 카이제곱 $X^{2}$, 일반화 가능도비 $G^{2}$, 그리고 역발산 I(2/3) 검정통계량)에 관하여 비교한 Rudas(1986)의 연구를 확장하여, 최근에 제안된 차이측도(BWHD(1/9), BWCS(1/3), NED(4/3) 검정통계량)를 포함시켜 비교 분석하였다. 독립모형의 이차원 분할표, 조건부 독립모형과 한 변수 독립 모형을 따르는 삼차원 분할표에 대한 모의실험을 통하여 생성된 90과 95 백분위수와 이에 대응하는 95% 신뢰구간을 살펴보고 실제 백분위수와 비교하였다. 그 결과 $X^{2}$, I(2/3), 그리고 BWHD(1/9) 검정통계량이 유사한 결과를 나타내었고 이 통계량들이 기존에 제안된 검정통계량들보다 적은 표본크기에서도 카이제곱 근사방법에 적용 가능함을 발견하였다.

The key signaling networks regulating cancer cell proliferation remain to be defined. The leucine-rich repeat containing G-protein coupled receptor 48 (GPR48) plays an important role in multiple organ development. In the present study, we investigated whether GPR48 functions in cancer cells using MCF-7, HepG2, NCI-N87 and PC-3 cells. We found that GPR48 overexpression promotes while its knockdown using small interfering RNA oligos inhibits cell proliferation. In addition, Wnt/${\beta}$-catenin signaling was activated in cells overexpressing GPR48. Therefore, our results indicated that GPR48 activates Wnt/${\beta}$-catenin signaling to regulate cancer cell proliferation.

In this paper, an impulse of an industrial chop Saw is identified by experimental method and the impulse is reduced by structural modification. For the impulse identification, vibration signals are measured by an accelerometer when the chop saw is operating. From some experiments, it is found that the impulse occurs when there is slip between spindle and the wheelwasher and contact area is small between the wheelwasher and cutting discs. The design of the wheelwasher for optimization is performed by the FEM and experiments and the prototype is manufactured. It is verified that considerable amount of impulses are reduced by the structural modification.

Purpose - This paper studies if types of markets have an association with several variables such as occupation, district, sales, employee, administrative district by a lessor, area in rental building and so on. Three attributes of markets can be general commercial zones, central commercial zones and traditional markets. Furthermore, we can investigate the degree of association by calculating the numerical strength and visualizing their distances on two-dimensional plane, once the association exists between them. Research design, data, and methodology - This work is performed by the 2013 report presented with Small Businessmen Promotion Institute in Korea and used by a chi-squared test and correspondence analysis by using IBM SPSS 23.0. Results - The results show that types of markets, including traditional markets, have an association with variables considered in this paper, and we can obtain the detailed associations between attributes of corresponding variables by inspecting two-dimensional plane. Conclusions - This study suggests that government authority and local autonomy can make strategies to vitalize traditional markets and to get win-win relationships among several types of markets by looking over our findings.

A new method for efficient modeling of the Head-Related Transfer Functions(HRTF's) without loss of any directional information is proposed. In this paper, the HRTF's were empirically measured in a real room and modeled as the ARMA models with common AR coefficients and different MA coefficients. To assess the validity of the proposed ARMA model, psychophysical tests show that the proposed ARMA model, in comparison with the conventional MA model, requires a small number of parameters to represent empirical HRTF's and improves the back-to-front confusions in sound-field localization. Thus, significant simplifications in the implementations of sound-field synthesis systems could be obtained by using the proposed ARMA model.

This paper describes Declination interpolation method in the application of Digital Magnetic Compass(DMC) with small capacity memory for relatively low-priced system. The purpose of this study is to find accurate declination values using Declination Lookup Table(DLT) and Secular Variation Table(SVT) with the Bilinear interpolation method having four points data only. World Magnetic Model with Gauss coefficients produced by NOAA is used in the calculation of DLT and SVT at desired years. To verify the applicability of the proposed method, the simulation tests and the error analysis are carried out in this work. As results from tests, the interpolation error is within 0.01 degree that is much enough to implement high accurate DMC comparing with commercial DMCs on the market. In summary, the declination interpolation method, proposed in this study, can be useful in the application of DMC.
