  • 본 연구에서는 기존의 자성 웨지의 제조공정을 대체하여 제조 공정이 단순하고, 그의 정밀성이 우수한 tape casting-lamination법에 의한 자성 웨지의 제조 공정의 적용 가능성에 대한 연구를 수행하였다. 철 분말과 에폭시 slurry는 우수한 tape casting 특성을 보여주었으며, 이렇게 얻어진 green tape과 유리 섬유를 적층하여 자성 웨지를 얻었다. 이러한 과정을 거쳐서 얻어진 제품의 품질 특성을 평가한 결과, 기존의 제조 공정으로 얻어진 제품에 비하여 품질의 균일성이 우수하며, 제조 공정을 혁신적으로 단축하는 것이 가능한 것을 보여주고 있다.

Ti 용탕과 정밀주조용 주형 간의 반응에 미치는 내화재료 조성 및 슬러리 pH의 영향에 관한 연구 (A study on the Effect of Refractory Materials Composition and Slurry pH on the Reaction between Investment Casting Mold and Molten Ti)

  • The effect of CaO mold on the formation of reaction layer was investigated. CaO mold was prepared by mixing of Colloidal silica($NALCO^{(R)}$ 1130) and an $ZrO_2$, CaO at room temperature. The dried at $20{\pm}3^{\circ}C$, 75% humidity for 12hrs. Sample was prepared from the Cp-Ti(grade-2) and melted by high frequence induction melting system in the vacuum condition. The react ion layer of Ti was confirmed by optical microscopy, microhardness(Hv) and X-ray diffraction. Thickness of reaction layer using the CaO stabilized ZrO2 was thinner than the CaO added ZrO2. And thickness of reaction layer were decreased with decreasing pH of slurry. CaO addition in the slurry could not controlled reaction between molten Ti and investment mold. On the other hand, the CaO chemical bonded ZrO2 by stabilization treatment could controlled reaction between molten Ti and investment mold.

수계 테이프 케스팅 법에 의한 봉상 γ-LiAlO2 입자 강화 MCFC 매트릭스 제조 공정의 최적화 (Optimization of Rod-shaped γ-LiAlO2 Particle Reinforced MCFC Matrices by Aqueous Tape Casting)

  • Rod-shaped particle reinforced $LiAlO_2$ matrices for MCFC were fabricated by an aqueous tape-casting technique. The hydrolysis reaction and agglomeration of $\gamma-LiAlO_2$ particles in aqueous slurries were inhibited by additions of $LiOH{\cdot}H_2O$ and glycerin to the aqueous $\gamma-LiAlO_2$ slurry. The tape-casting, performed using the aqueous slurry containing protein albumin, was fast and led to an effective drying at casting temperature range of $60{\sim}65^{\circ}C$. The strength of the particle reinforced matrix was improved about 4 times compared to that of matrix without reinforcement. Pore size distribution ($0.1{\sim}0.4{\mu}m$) and porosity ($50{\sim}60%$) of the reinforced matrices were determined to be appropriate for the MCFC matrix. The aqueous tape casting process is not only environmental-friendly but also efficient for fabricating MCFC matrices compared to non-aqueous tape casting.

  • Al-5.5Zn-2.5Mg-l.5Cu semi-solid slurry was prepared by cooling the liquid metal with a low superheat to a solid and liquid co-existing temperature. Relatively round solid particles could be obtained in the slurry through the simple process. The prepared slurry was deformed into the metallic mold by a press and the mechanical properties of obtained specimens were investigated. Mold filling ability of the alloy slurry was also investigated and compared with that of A356 alloy. Al-Zn-Mg-Cu alloy showed lower mold filling ability than A356 alloy probably because small amount of eutectic phase is present and the heat of fusion generated during solidification is smaller than that of A356 alloy.

용융탄산염형 연료전지의 전해질 매트릭스에 관한 연구 (Cold Rolling Process for the Matrix Fabrication of the Mcfc)

  • Electrolyte matrix fabrication process can be classifed as hot pressing, tape casting, callendering, electrophoretic deposition. however, these have limits in practice. Hot pressing is cumbersome method, because of careful heating and cooling. Furthermore, the perfected tile is so fragile that it is difficult to fit in a cell. Therefore this method is not adequate for mass production of the electrolyte matrix. Using electrophoretic deposition method, a very thin matrix can be made, but many attempts of the electrolyte embeding were found to be failure. Tape casting and callendering methods are employed in most of the matrix fabrication for the present. But these methods require lots of water as a solvent, so that coating of the LiAlO sub(2) with electrolyte is difficult. Recently, hot roll milling method has been developed and the perfected matrix was proved to be free from crack. The method, however, needs a roller to make a matrix and a perfected matrix is carefully striped off from the cooled roller. Therefore, this method requires a long time due to the cooling process. The author proposes a cold rolling process. On this method, heated slurry of the LiAlO sub(2) mixed with binder, is rolled with a cold roller. The heated slurry dose not adhere to the roller, since contacted hot slurry is rapidly solidified. Therefore fabrication speed is increased, without getting rid of merits of the hot rolling process.

주철관의 표면조도 개선 (The improvement of surface roughness of cast-iron pipe)

  • The purpose of this research is to improve the surface roughness of cast-iron pipe porduced by the centrifugal casting. A twin-fluid atomizer of mold-wash slurry is designed for this project. New atomizer is equipped with the existing manufacturing facility to produce pipes. Cast-iron pipes (.cent.125*L3000mm) are produced and the surface roughnesses of those are analysed by UBM. The average surface roughness of new products is 6.7.mu.m while the old products of sand-resin coating method have 17.0.mu.m of average surface roughness. The surface roughness of cast-iron pipe is improved very much than before.

PDP 투명 유전체용 Bi계 프릿트 필름의 제조 및 특성분석 (Fabrication and Characterization of Bi-Based Frit Film for PDP Transparent Dielectric Front Panel)

  • Ceramic green sheets consisting Bi-based glass frit were fabricated for an application to PDP transparent dielectric front panel. The dispersion condition of the slurry for tape casting was pre-examined, and two kinds of hinder and plasticizer were used in the non-aqueous slurry system. In the fabrication process for the frit film, the properties such as dry and firing shrinkage, elongation, and transmittance were examined at the condition of various mixing ratio of plasticizers. In the mixing ratio of polyethylene glycol to dibutyl phthalate of 3:5wt%, a good adhesion, elongation and transmittance were observed at the firing temperature of $580^{\circ}C$. The photograph for the cross section of the interface was also showed a dense microstructure.

  • An anode-supported SOFC single cell having $5{\mu}m$ thin electrolyte was fabricated cost-effectively by tape casting, laminating, and co-filing of anode (NiO-YSZ), cathode (LSM-YSZ), and electrolyte (YSZ) components. The optimal slurry compositions of the green tapes for SOFC components were determined by an analysis of the mean diameter, the slurry viscosity, the tensile strength/strain of the green tapes, and their green microstructures. The single cells with a dense electrolyte and porous electrodes could be co-fired successfully at $1325\sim1350^{\circ}C$ by controlling the contents of pore former and the ratio of coarse YSZ and fine YSZ in the anode and the cathode. The single cell co-fired at $1350^{\circ}C$ showed $100.2mWcm^{-2}$ of maximum power density at $800^{\circ}C$ but it was impossible to apply it to operate at low temperature because of low performance and high ASR, which were attributed to formation of the secondary phases in the cathode and the interface between the electrolyte and the cathode.

반고상 A356 합금 슬러리의 미세조직에 따른 유동특성에 관한 연구 (Effects of Microstructure Morphology on Fluid Flow Characteristics of A356 Commercial Alloy in Semi-Solid Slurry)

  • The rheocasting characteristics are strongly influenced by the microstructural morphology such as particle size, form factor and contiguity. In this study, the effect of structural morphology on fluid flow characteristics of A356 semi-solid alloy was investigated with a vacuum suction fluidity test. Semi-solid metal slurry was made by the mechanical stirring, the liquidus casting, and H-NCM to be analysed. H-NCM could obtain uniform and fine globular microstructures of 0.9 form factor and 55 ${\mu}m$ particle size. Inoculation was found to be effective for reducing particle size, however, for H-NCM it should be avoided due to the cause of increasing contiguity. The fluidity test indicated that the non-stirring method had higher fluidity and smaller liquid segregation in the same solid faction of 0.4 than the stirring method, for smaller particle size and higher form factor. It was observed that liquid segregation decreased as the particle size is smaller and form factor is higher. The results of die-casting experiment were a good agreement with those of fluidity test.
