High power microwave sources operating in relativistic regions, high current reletivistic electron beams are obtained by using cold cathodes with the help of explosive emission. For these relativistic devices, the pulsed power and magnetic field systems are very large and heavy. The phase velocity of electromagnetic mode should be showed down close to the beam velocity, ensuring enough beam coupling with electromagnetic modes. By using the annular electron beam, a weakly relativistic oversized bwo consisting of rectangularly corrugated cylindrical waveguide is demonstrated.

A new transmission line parameter extraction method of iC interconnects on silicon substrate is presented. To extract the acurate parameters, the silicon substrate effects were taken into account. Since the electromagnetic fields under the silicon substrate are propagated with slow wave mode, effective dielectric constant and different ground plane with the multi-layer dielectric structures were employed for inductance and capacitance matrix determination. Then accurate signal transients simulation were performed with HSPICE by using the parameters. It was shown that the simulation resutls has an excellent agreement with TDR/TDT measurements.

In this paper, the analysis and design of a spirally slotted array antenna with high efficiency are presented. Electric fields in the slots are calculated by electromagnetic fields in the upper waveguide and radiation field equations are derived. Slots are arrayed spirally on the upper circular plate of twofold radial waveguide. In order to suppress grating lobes from the array, a slow wave structure is inserted in the upper waveguide. This antenna is characterized by a good circular polarization, high efficiency of 75 percent and grating lobes below -34dB.

무손실 주기구조에 의한 단대역의 제거와 영, π모드에 대한 공류현상에 대하여 기술하였다. 특수한 2개의 구조내의 2개의 통과모드가 공류점에서 영이 아닌 군속도를 가질 수 있음이 해석에 의하여 알려졌으며 이 공류현상은 모드분리를 뚜렷이 하기 때문에 선형가속기로서 유용하다.

This letter presents the design and measured performance of bandpass filters based on a stacked-SIR (stepped impedance resonators) configuration with DGS (Defected Ground Structure). An unit DGS configuration is designed and analyzed to show the phase characteristic of proposed slow-wave structure. The SIR filter with DGS has been yielded better stop band and sharper skirt behavior than conventional bandpass filter.

We observed new physical phenomia. The dispersion relation and the distributions of RF electric field in the corrugated wall waveguide are analyzed numerically. The measurement of the dispersion relation are obsered by a plunger method employed in the slow wave structure for linear accelerators.

When a partial discharge takes place at the stator of a generator, the electrical pulse will propagate along the stator bars and the capacitor chains formed by the end part of the stator winds. On the first path, the pulse propagates as a travel wave at slow speed. On the second path, the pulse propagates at quick speed. Based on the data of the experiments on a real 50 MW steam generator, the author has found the pulses can propagate by magnetic field of the stator winding. It was studied that how to locating the partial discharge by signals coming from the different paths, including the features of signals on the two paths at time domain and frequency domain, the measurement frequency rang of the signals, the blind area, the advantage and disadvantage of this method.

This paper describes to observe the combustion process of only one droplet cluster. In this study, liquid fuel was atomized by ultrasonic wave to form an acoustically levitated droplet cluster. In order to elucidate the detailed structure of burning process of the droplet cluster, laser tomography method was applied. Time-series planar images of fuel droplets were processed and diameter of the each droplet was calculated based on the Mie-scattering theory. Using these data, the modified droplet group combustion number was estimated in time-series. As the result, when the internal droplet group combustion occur, the modified group combustion number dose not decrease monotonically, but show a tow-staged decreasing process. In all case of combustion process, combustion reactions were measured two types that combustion speed was fast and slow. It was casued by difference of concentration degree and droplet size distribution.

In this article, new microstrip slow-wave bandpass filters using open loop resonator loaded with inter-digital capacitive fingers is proposed. The filter features not only compact in size, but also exhibits spurious stop-band rejection. Filters of this type with elliptic function and Chebyshev response are demonstrated. There is good agreement between experimental and full-wave electromagnetic (EM) simulation results.
