In this study, in order to develop an non-slip metal grating, the stability of the grating according to the span of the grating and the gap and height of the bearing bar was evaluated. The optimal shape design of the grating was performed using the results of determining the stability of the grating. The purpose of this study is to determine the stability according to the spacing and height of the bearing bar by applying the design pressure at the design stage to develop the anti-skid grating, and to design the optimal shape for cost reduction. In the optimal design, the target variable was set as the mass, and the optimal design of the grating was performed based on about 20%. Regardless of the height of the bearing bar of the grating, the stress and deformation of the span and the grating showed a proportional tendency to each other, and it was found that the stress decreased as the height of the bearing bar increased. Based on the structural analysis results, an optimal design was performed using mass as the objective variable, and the existing 2mm thickness was changed to 1.6mm, reducing the mass by about 19%. The stress increased by about 4.4% compared to the maximum stress of the existing grating, but the minimum safety factor was 3.1, indicating that the optimally designed grating was stable.

As the traffic congestion and parking problems in urban areas are increased the tall and narrow commuter vehicles have interested as a means to increase the utilization of existing freewa- ys and parking facilities. However, in hard cornering those vehicles could reduce stability against overturning compared to conventional vehicles. This tendency can be mitigated by tilting the body toward the inside of the turn. In this paper those tilting vehicles are considered in which at speed at least, the tilt angle is controlled by steering the front wheels. In other word, if the driver turns the steering wheel the tilt controller automatically steers the road wheel to tilt the body inside of the turn. Also, the dynamic tilting vehicle model with tire slip angles is constructed by adding the roll degree of freedom. Finally, through computer simulation the behaviors of the tilting vehicles are investigated.
In this paper, a re-adhesion control scheme is proposed for 1C2M propulsion system of TTX. The possibility of slip between wheel and rail in railway system is increasing because of the tendency of high speed and a climatic change. This slip results in the decrease of adhesive effort between this wheel and rail, so the control strategy of traction effort which can reduce the speed promptly and make most use of the maximum adhesive force is absolutely necessary. This paper describes the modeling of the TTX system, and this system is verified by the simulation.

This article proposes a design guideline to reduce squeal noise generated by an automobile wiper blade. In order to explain the squeal noise phenomenon, a source of squeal noise is experimentally investigated using a rotating disk equipment, and then a single-degree-of-freedom stick-slip vibration model is established for a blade tip. Based on analytical results, we discuss a tendency of the squeal noise for various physical parameters.
This paper presents a case study of an enhanced geothermal system(EGS) demonstration project conducted in $Gro{\ss}$$Sch{\ddot{o}}nebeck$, Northerm Germany, focusing on hydraulic stimulation. The project was conducted with doublet system in sandstone and volcanic formations at 4 - 4.4 km depth. Under normal faulting to strike-slip faulting stress regime, hydraulic stimulations were conducted at injection and production wells by massive waterfrac and gel-proppant fracturing. Injectivity index increased from $0.97m^3/(hr^*MPa)$ to $7.5m^3/(hr^*MPa)$ and productivity index increased from $2.4m^3/(hr^*MPa)$ to $10.1m^3/(hr^*MPa)$ by a series of hydraulic stimulations at both wells. After circulation tests through injection and production wells, however, productivity index decreased from $8.9m^3/(hr^*MPa)$ to $0.6m^3/(hr^*MPa)$ in two years. Slip tendency analysis for the stimulation in volcanic layer estimated the required pressure for shear slip and its preferred orientations and it showed reasonable match with actual stimulation results. Through the microseismicity observation for the stimulation of volcanic formation, only 80 seismic events with its moment magnitudes in -1.8<$M_W$<-1.0 were observed, which are unexpectedly low for EGS hydraulic stimulation.
A series of numerical experiments with measurements observed at continuously operating reference stations (CORS) of the international GNSS services (IGS) and the national geographical information institute of Korea (NGII) have been intensively carried out to evaluate the quality of pseudo-ranges and carrier-phases of GPS L2C signal obtained by various receiver types, benign and harsh operational environment. In this analysis, some quality measures, such as signal-to-noise ratio (SNR), the magnitude of multipath, and the number of cycle slips, the pseudo-range and carrier phase obtaining rate were computed and compared. The SNR analysis revealed an impressive result that the trend in the SNR of C/A and the L2C comparably depends upon type of receivers. The result of multipath analysis also showed clearly different tendency depending on the receiver types. The reason for this inconsistent tendency was seemed to be that the different multipath mitigation algorithm built-in each receiver. The number of L2C cycle slip was less than P2(Y), and L2C measurements obtaining rate was higher than that of P2(Y) in three receiver types. In the harsh observational environment, L2C quality was not only superior to P2(Y) in all aspects such as SNR, multipath magnitude, the number of cycle slips, and measurement obtaining rate, but also it could maintain a level of quality equivalent to C/A. According to the results of this analysis, it's expected that improved positioning performance like accuracy and continuity can be got through the use of L2C instead of existing P2(Y).

The most important thing in the container terminal is to handle the cargo effectively in the limited time. To achieve this object, many strategies have been introduced and applied to. If we consider the technical trends and environment of the automated container terminal, it is necessary that the systems for cargo handling are equipped with more intelligent control technologies. To cope with this tendency, from the middle of the 1990's, the automated RMGC (Rail-Mounted Gantry Crane) and RTGC (Rubber-Tired Gantry Crane) have been developed and widely used to handle containers in the yards. Recently, in these cranes, the many equipments like CCD cameras and sensors are mounted to cope with the automated terminal environment. If we want to obtain more efficient handling performance, the modelling, tracking control, anti-sway system design, skew motion suppressing and complicated motion control problems must be considered in the control system design and application process. Considering these problems, in this paper, the system modelling with the tire slip and a tracking control approach are proposed. Especially, we design the tracking control system based on the 2DOF servosystem design approach to cope with undesirable disturbance input. The experiment results show the desirable performance and usefulness of the designed control system.
This is a research on the method of how to improve lateral stability for the small general aviation airplane to meet the FAR part 23 requirements. This research is based on the experience of certification flight tests of KC-100 airplane for Korea first type certification. KAS/FAR Part 23.177 is the static lateral and directional stability requirement. And, 23.177(b) requires to show the tendency to raise the low wing in steady heading side slip maneuver. However, it is very difficult for the low wing to be raised at the low speed during the steady heading side slip maneuver. So, the requirement allows not be negative at the $1.2V_{S1}$ speed and takeoff configuration. (static stability requirement requires low wing picked up at any speed except $1.2V_{S1}$ speed and takeoff configuration) In this paper, the static lateral stability requirements and the lessons & learned of KC-100 airplane certification flight test results are shown.
The present situation of Korea already shone various symptoms of the aged society, and many kinds of data reported by the National Statistical Office demonstrate those facts. However, to my regret, sufficient efforts for aged workers are not taken in the area of industrial safety. In this research, work arrangement and industrial accidents of middle-aged and aged workers over last 5 years were analyzed. According to research results, proportion of industrial accidents involved middle-aged and aged workers was as high as 40%, and that of aged workers alone was so high as 25%. In addition, proportion of accidents were higher than that of worker population f3r aged wetters. Considering ages, it was demonstrated that as workers get older, mean number of accidents shows the tendency of going higher, and that as years go by, mean lost work-days are increasing regardless of age group. Main accident types were Fall followed by Slip, and Work-Related Disease, furthermore proportion of Slip was highest than any other types for aged workers. Based upon these results, it was emphasized thai careful attention should be paid to functional characteristics of aged workers, and that modification of accident prevention policy would be necessary.
A forecast of slope behavior during catastrophic events, such as earthquakes is crucial to recognize the risk of slope failure. This paper endeavors to eliminate the significant supposition of predefined slip surfaces in the slope stability analysis, which questions the relevance of simple conventional methods under seismic conditions. To overcome such limitations, a methodology dependent on the slip line hypothesis, which permits an automatic generation of slip surfaces, is embraced to trace the extreme slope face under static and seismic conditions. The effect of earthquakes is considered using the pseudo-static approach. The current outcomes developed from a parametric study endorse a non-linear slope surface as the extreme profile, which is in accordance with the geomorphological aspect of slopes. The proposed methodology is compared with the finite element limit analysis to ensure credibility. Through the design charts obtained from the current investigation, the stability of slopes can be assessed under seismic conditions. It can be observed that the extreme slope profile demands a flat configuration to endure the condition of the limiting equilibrium at a higher level of seismicity. However, a concurrent enhancement in the shear strength of the slope medium suppresses this tendency by offering greater resistance to the seismic inertial forces induced in the medium. Unlike the traditional linear slopes, the extreme slope profiles mostly exhibit a steeper layout over a significant part of the slope height, thus ensuring a more optimized solution to the slope stability problem. Further, the susceptibility of the Longnan slope failure in the Huining-Wudu seismic belt is predicted using the current plasticity approach, which is found to be in close agreement with a case study reported in the literature. Finally, the concept of equivalent single or multi-tiered planar slopes is explored through an example problem, which exhibits the appropriateness of the proposed non-linear slope geometry under actual field conditions.
