A Study on The Slidacs Type Automatic Voltage Regulator Having The Improved Output Characteristics

  • In this study, we have designed and fabricated the slidacs type automatic voltage regulator(AVR) that is able to control the output voltage continuously according to road variation. Especially, the frictions between the surface of contact of the slidacs coils and the output wire moving rod are reduced by transforming the mechanical configuration of surface of contact of slidacs from the conventional sliding one into the proposed rotary one composed of cylindrical bearing. Thus, the slidacs type AVR using cylindrical bearing proposed in this study has less noise than conventional one owing to the reduction of frictions, and its breakdown ratio caused by the abrasion of contact materials is reduced.   • We have designed and fabricated the slidacs type automatic voltage regulator(SVR) that is able to control the output voltage continuously according to load variation. Especially, the frictions between the surface of contact of the slidacs coils and the output wire moving shaft arc reduced by modifying the mechanical configuration of surface of contact of slidacs from the conventional sliding one into the proposed rotary one composed of cylindrical bearing. Thus, SVR using cylindrical bearing proposed in this study has less noise than the conventional one owing to the reduction of friction, and its breakdown ratio caused by the abrasion of contact materials is reduced as well. We have designed U motor driving circuit for controlling the output wire moving shaft, and introduced the digital control method using the pulse width modulation(PWM) output for controlling DC motor.

  • In this study, we have developed the automatic voltage regulator(AVR) with robust voltage controllability, high efficiency and low cost. In AVR, the output voltage is controlled by the Tap changing of the slidacs coil using DC motor. And AVR has the improved output voltage characteristics because of the modified configuration of a point of contact between the slidacs coil and the moving rod.

  • In this study, We applied the magnetic field that has CW frequency and AM frequency to heating magnetic nano powder. For this experiment, We set up the devices flat-type magnetic field generator with CW frequency and AM frequency. We supplied the current to encircling coil by adjusting the power of generating of magnetic field device for AC voltage through Slidacs and using way of LC resonance circuit and SMPS(Switching Mode Power Supply). Above the encircling coil, We covered the circular flat insulator like glass. And we located the well plate containing the magnetic nano powder liquor above the circular flat insulator and exposed the magnetic field to this well plate. Using the flat-type magnetic field generator with CW and AM frequency and the magnetic field measurement sensor(Magnetic pick up coil or Hall sensor), We measured the strength of the magnetic field of circular flat insulator's surface in each position. The temperature of the magnetic nano powder in the well plate was quantitatively measured by the magnetic field strength through the Fluoroptic thermometer.
