  • In this study, industrial by-products including blast furnace slag, incineration ash and waste gypsum were used with recycled fine aggregates to manufacture the zero-cement mortar. The replacement ratio of anhydrite gypsum was fixed as 0, 10%, 20% the replacement ratio fo WA1 was fixed as 0.5% and 1.0%, respectively. It could be identified that when the replacement of gypsum was 20% and WA1 of 1.0%, the strength could be in the range of normal strength.

  • In this research, the optimum combination of fly ash (FA) and blast furnace slag (BS) was deduced by analyzing the performance of high volume supplementary cementitious materials (SCMs) cement mortar depending on various combinations of cement, FA, and BS. As a result, increased workability was shown with increased the portion of FA, while air content, setting time, and compressive strength were decreased.

  • The purpose of this study is to recycle steel slag generated from the iron producing process and to use steel slag as a construction material which is currently landfilled Steel slag is subjected to aging treatment due to the problem of expansion and collapse when it reacts with water. The Slag Atomizing Technology (SAT) method developed to solve these problems of expanding collapse of steel slag. In this study, experimental study on the emergency repair mortar using the reducing slag, electric arc furnace slag and silicon manganese slag manufactured by the SAT method is Reduced slag was shown an accelerated hydration when it was replaced with rapidly-setting cement, and the rate of substitution was equivalent to 15%. It is shown that the electric furnace oxide slag is equivalent to 100% of the natural aggregate, and it can be replaced by 15-30% when the silicon manganic slag is substituted for the electric furnace oxide slag. With the above formulation, it was possible to design the rapidly repair mortar for road use. These recycling slags can contribute on achieving sustainability of construction industry by reducing the use of cement and natural aggregates and by reducing the generation of carbon dioxide and recycling waste slag.

  • The alkali-slag-red mud(ASRC) cement belongs to clinker free cementitious material, which is made from alkali activator, blast-furnace slag(BFS) and red mud in designed proportion. This study is to investigate strength and pore characteristics of alkali-activated slag cement(NC), clinker free cementitious material, and ordinary portland cement(C) mortars using polymer according to red mud content. The results showed that the hardened alkali-activated slag-red mud cement paste was mostly consisted of C-S-H gel, being very fine in size and extremely irregular in its shape. So the hardened ASRC cement paste has lower total porosity, less portion of larger pore and more portion of smaller pore, as compared with those of hardened portland cement paste, and has higher strength within containing 10 wt.(%) of alkali-activated slag cement(NC) substituted by red mud.

  • In order to investigate the feasibility of municipal solid waste incineration ash melted slag powder as admixture, an experimental study was performed on cement mortar with municipal solid waste incineration ash melted slag powder. Fresh mortar properties and strength properties with various municipal solid waste incineration ash melted slag powder replacement ratios were estimated. There replacement ratio adopted in this study was 0, 10, 20, 30, 40, 50%. After then flow properties was considered as properties of fresh mortar. And compressive strength was determined 3, 7, 14, 28, 56 days for the hardened mortar specimens. According to the test results, the flow of mortar was increased with in replacement amount of municipal solid waste incineration ash melted slag powder. Furthermore, compressive strength at early age was decreased, whereas the compressive strength at the age of 28, 56day was increased.

  • The purpose of this study evaluates possibilities of waste phosphogypsum into concrete by steam curing admixture. The waste phosphogypsums were classified into 4 forms(Dihydrate, $\beta-Hemihydrate$, III-Anhydrite and II-Anhydrite) which were changed to in low temperature of calcination. Also, various admixtures were made of waste phosphogypsum(PG) and pozollanic fine powderers (Fly-ash, Blast Furnace Slag), and the basic properties of the cement mortars incorporating with these admixtures were examined and analyzed under a verity of experimental conditions. As a result, III-Anhydrite, these is similar to II-Anhydrite from compressive strength and are great in the effect of strength improvement. also, it was proved that specimens made on type III-Anhydrite of waste phosphogypsum and blast furnace slag increased on the compressive strength of cement mortar. Therefore, III-Anhydrite phosphogypsum calcined at lower temperature could be used as steam curing admixture for concrete 2th production.

  • In this study aluminium sulfate, Ca(OH)$_2$, K-R Slag and Na$_2$SO$_4$ were used as active admixtures. The physical properties of active admixtures cement mortar were investigated by flow test and compressive strength. It was found that the resulting active admixtures exhibited the higher compressive strength than OPC mortar up. From the test results, cement mortars added active admixture have a good fundamental property.

  • Many researches on alkali-activated concrete that does not need the presence of cement as a binder have been carried out recently. Instead, the source of material such as fly ash and blast slag, that are rich in Silicon(Si) and Aluminium(Al), are activated by alkaline liquids to produce the binder. Hence concrete with no cement is effect reduction of CO$_2$ gas. In this study, we investigated the influence of the workability and compressive strength of mortar on water reducing agent, alkaline activator and curing method in oder to develop cementless blast slag based alkali-activated mortar. In view of the results, we found out that the flowability of mortar was lowered as increasing to mole concentration of NaOH, but not large the loss of flowability to 9M NaOH, most of water reducing agent was not effect. The compressive strength was improved as increasing to mole concentration of NaOH, was the most effect in 9M NaOH. The curing temperature and curing conditions on compressive strength of blast slag based alkali-activated mortar didn't influence.

  • This paper reports the results of an investigation into the effects of silica fume on strength properties of alkali-activated slag cement (AASC) with water-binder (W/B) ratio and replacement ratio of silica fume content. The W/B ratio varied between 0.50 and 0.60 at a constant increment of 0.05. The silica fume content varied from 0% to 50% by weight of slag. The activators was used sodium hydroxide (NaOH) and the dosage of activator was 3M. The strength development with W/B ratio has been studied at different ages of 1, 3, 7 and 28 days. For mixes of AASC mortars with varying silica fume content, the flow values were lower than the control mixes (without silica fume). The flow value was decrease as the content of silica fume increase. This is because the higher surface areas of silica fume particles increase the water requirement. The analysis of these results indicates that, increasing the silica fume content in AASC mortar also increased the compressive strength. Moreover, the strength decreases with the W/B ratios increases. This is because the particle sizes of silica fume are smaller than slag. The high compressive strength of blended slag-silica fume mortars was due to both the filler effect and the activated reaction of silica fume evidently giving the mortar matrix a denser microstructure, thereby resulting in a significant gain in strength.
