The purpose of this study is to find out the operant factors, or types of skin care, and, more importantly, to propose the intervention for more effective skin care and marketing strategies in this business. That is the main reason that the study employes Q methodology which measures human subjectivity objectively and scientifically. This study finally revealed three distinctive factors : Type I, The Passive Follower, Type II, The Active Needs, and Type III, The Independent Judgment. The first type includes people who show passive recognition. They want to be put in charge of experts in the skin care center and to buy cosmetics recommended by experts, and are deep interest in the reaction of other people. The second type contains people who desire things actively. To live delightfully and fashionably, they think of the necessity of skin and body care as an important thing, and feel that it is necessary to take care of the skin beauty actively and regularly for the aging resistance. The third type includes people who judge independently. In general, they recognize and desire the necessity of the skin care, but they think of the skin care as a part of the health care more widely rather than a special thing. These three types are not fixed, but continuously changed in the accordance with the condition and interaction with the circumstance, the results will be utilized as basic materials for the skin and health care through the application according to the characteristic of each type they belong.

This study investigates soldiers' and civilians' interest in and behaviors toward cosmetics and skin beauty. Responses to a self-administered questionnaire were collected from 150 soldiers and 156 civilians residing in Chung-chung Province, Korea. The mean age of the respondents was $21.9{\pm}1.8$. More than 90% used skin toner and lotion products, and more than 50% used sunblocks and foam cleansers. Soldiers were more likely to use essence (p<.001) and after-shave (p<.01) products than civilians. In addition, soldiers were more likely to use carrier cosmetics than their counterparts (p<.001~p<.05). Soldiers were more likely to be concerned about their skin (p<.01) and unsatisfactory environments for skin care (p<.001), more likely to engage in skin care behaviors (p<.01), and less likely to have skin knowledge than civilians (p<.001). There was a negative relationship between skin knowledge and skin care behaviors (p<.01). The level of interest in appearance was correlated with that in skin (p<.001). The number of skin related concerns was positively correlated with unsatisfactory environments for skin care (p<.001). Concerns over appearance (p<.001), skin (p<.001), and unsatisfactory environments for skin care (p<.05) were positively correlated with skin care behaviors. The results suggest the necessity of providing a diverse and differentiated range of cosmetics to meet the needs of soldiers and men, particularly the former, according to the differences in their environments.

The penetration of outside material into skin is not easy. It is since the skin, which is a very hard barrier, protects the body against outside chemical and physical stimulation. Microneedle system which can help improve drug penetration into skin is advancing variously in transdermal drug delivery system (TDDS) in the field of skin care. After inserting microneedle into skin by using electrical or artificial forces, it makes microhole and drug penetration easily and induces natural skin rejuvenation. Diffusion and penetration of drug by optical and electrical force of microneedle is better for fast and effective TDDS. This is more developed than the traditional method such as the manual stamp, roller, and meso gun. The drug absorbed into dermal layer by microneedle helps revive and repair damaged skin. In the future, utilization of microneedle for skin care will progress constantly because of its human-friendly biodegradable materials and the development of the no pain microneedle.

This study was carried out to evaluate factors influencing on women of skin type using Pender's Health Promotion Model. For this purpose, we surveyed 159 women from July 1 to August 22, 1998. In results of stepwise logistic analysis, these factors was shown significant habit of practice and skin care experience (p<0.05). Groups which did not practice showed the probability of 13.49 times in neutral skin. Groups which experienced skin care showed the probability of 5.16 times in neutral skin. These results suggested that it was to develop the instrument for measurement of skin type.

Proper skin care promotes good metabolism and the biological activity of skin, helps maintain the skin in a healthy and beautiful state when combined with nutritional nourishment. Health functional foods are being used for the purpose of enhancing efficient skin care. Health functional foods related to skin care maintain the epidermis, dermal fibroblast layer and subcutaneous tissue that form the skin. Efficient functional foods alleviate the signs of endogenous aging that come with getting older and exogenous aging caused by sunlight. Even though the field of skin care related to health functional foods has received less attention and been the subject of less research compared to functional cosmetics which are developing widely, this area of skin care that maintains and improves the layer of dermal fibroblast through the intake of food, is expected to progress with the commercialization of products in many fields when the related technical research development is galvanized and the related patents are applied for. Research into health functional foods related to skin care in Korea started rather late in comparison to other advanced countries where patents for relevant techniques have been applied for since 1990's together with research conducted on how they might be used for practical purposes. This study used the key words 'skin care, health functional food' to search for Korean patents that have been applied for at the Korean Intellectual Property Office from 1983 to 2011 using the KIPRIS database, in order to help researchers in the related fields by organizing the patented formulas for health functional foods for skin care which have gained attention recently. According to the number of registrations in each industry field, the total number of patents was 1,120 we screened the major patents among them, the field with the largest number was food foodstuff non-alcoholic beverage and preparation or treatment(A23L) with 135, then natural plant medicine & medical supplies and cosmetics(A61K) with 112, microorganisms or enzymes(C12N) with 63, heterocyclic compounds(C07D) with 44, horticulture or cultivation of sea weeds, forestry(A01G) 16 times, listed from the highest to the lowest number of applications. It has been revealed that food, foodstuff, non-alcoholic beverage and preparation or treatment(A23L) was the industry field where the most patents for health functional foods related to skin care were registered.

Essential oils aims to rejuvenate and beautify medical skin care the body through the use of essential oils, and generally to improve our outward appearance. Much of this section fouses on the different methods by which essential oils can be used to improve the complexion or to treat specific medical care skin conditions. Beauty, however, is not just skin-deep. The condition of the medical care express the overall health of an individual. A relaxed attitude, together with a well-balanced diet, enough exercise, and a daily intake of plenty of spring water or herbal teas, all help to keep the system in top condition. Essential oils is a healing art which has powerful effects on both mind and body. The vital element in essential oils is the pure oils which are extracted from various part of different plants. The key to medical aromatherapy care lies in its dual use of essential oils and medical care massage, thus masking full use of two of our most important senses-smell and touch. Medical aromatherapy care is holistic, working mainly on the nervous system and including the head and body as part of the same treatment. Using pressure points along the spine, Medical aromatherapy care on the autonomic nervous system and has an immediate effect of relexation. In directly it also acts on mood. Many of the medical massage movements help lymphatic drainage. Essential oils have many different qualities; they can be relaxing or invigorating and are generally antisepic and antibacterial. Medical aromatherapy care can have psychological benefits. The power of essences in healing has been recognized in the treatment of insect bites. Clove, thyme, sandalwood, and lavender are a few of the essences that have antiseptic. Essential oils effect the dry skin for small visual pores, dull matte finish, rough sandy feeling, tantskin. Essential oils effect the mature/sun damaged skin for some red or couperose areas, loose saggy skin, exposure to a lot of ultraviolet light. Essential oils effect the medical care nomal skin good elasticity, healthy color(good circulation), smooth terture.

The effectiveness of an innovative skin treatment system that delivers an anti-aging solution deep into the skin without invasiveness and pain using a non-invasive air technology was investigated. In addition, an effective change using a non-invasive technique for delivering a solution for skin improvement was confirmed. The equipment named Cellre Jet is an effective skin care and drug delivery equipment that instantly opens the skin epidermis by using a maximum output pressure of 6 bars and high-pressure purified oxygen of 75-90% purity to deliver various nano-sized vital substances deep into the skin, and it uses the method of precisely controlling the equipment through an 8-inch digital touch display to accurately dispense the prescribed dosage. In this study, changes in skin condition were analyzed using this equipment and nano ampoules on subjects with actual skin problems through a related comparison and effectiveness judgment program. Through this study, skin care and drug delivery are possible, which will contribute to verifying the effectiveness of this non-invasive drug delivery equipment in the future, and is expected to establish the systematic effect in observing and studying changes in the skin.

Background: Naturally occurring antioxidants were used to regulate the skin damage caused by ultraviolet (UV) radiation because several antioxidants have demonstrated that they can inhibit wrinkle formation through prevention of matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs) and/or increase of collagen synthesis. We examined the effect of oral administration of the antioxidant mixture ("L-Skin Care") on UVB-induced wrinkle formation. In addition, we investigated the possible molecular mechanisms of photoprotection against UVB through inhibition of collagen-degrading MMP activity or through enhancing of pro collagen synthesis in mouse dorsal skin. Methods: Female SKH-l hairless mice were orally administrated "L-Skin Care" (test group) or vehicle (control group) for 10 weeks with UVB irradiation by three times a week. The intensity of irradiation was gradually increased from 30 to $180mJ/cm^2$. Microtopographic and histological assessments of the dorsal skins were carried out at the end of 10 weeks to evaluate wrinkle formation. Western blot analysis and EMSA were also carried out to investigate the changes in the balance of collagen synthesis and collagen degradation. Results: Our "L-Skin Care" significantly reduced UVB-induced wrinkle formation, accompanied by significant reduction of epidermal thickness, and UVB-induced hyperplasia, acanthosis and hyperkeratosis. Oral administration of "L-Skin Care" significantly prevented UVB-induced expressions of MMPs, mitogen-activated protein (MAP) kinases and activation of activator protein (AP)-1 transcriptional factor in addition to enhanced type I procollagen and transforming growth factor-$\beta$ (TGF-$\beta$) expression. Conclusion: Oral administration of "L-Skin Care" significantly inhibited wrinkle formation caused by chronic UVB irradiation through significant inhibition of UVB-induced MMP activity accompanied with enhancement of collagen synthesis.

피부미용숍의 증가로 차별화된 경쟁우위를 확보하기 위해서는 고객의 욕구를 충족시켜 줄 수 있는 서비스품질 개발이 필요하다. 이에 본 연구는 피부미용숍을 이용하는 고객의 서비스품질이 호혜성지각과 장기적 관계지향에 미치는 관계를 알아봄으로써 피부미용숍 운영에 필요한 마케팅 기초자료를 제공하고자 시도되었다. 본 연구는 서울·경기도, 전라남·북도, 경상남·북도에 소재한 피부미용숍을 이용한 여성 고객 290명을 대상으로 직접방문 및 E-mail, 우편 등을 이용하여 설문조사하였고, 수집된 자료는 SPSS Ver. 18.0과 Amos Ver. 18.0 프로그램을 사용하여 분석하였다. 그 결과 본 연구에서 설정된 연구가설에 대한 이론적 모형에의 전반적인 적합도는 양호하다는 것이 증명되었고, 가설 1은 관리사 업무능력, 시설 및 위생, 관리제품은 호혜성 지각에 유의미한 정(+)의 영향을 주는 것으로 나타나 부분적으로 채택되었고, 가설 2는 관리사 업무능력, 관리제품, 기기 및 도구가 장기적 관계지향에 유의미한 정(+)의 영향을 주는 것으로 나타나 채택되었으며, 가설 3은 호혜성 지각은 장기적 관계지향에 유의미한 정(+)의 영향을 주는 것으로 나타나 채택되었다. 따라서 관리사의 업무능력, 시설 및 위생, 관리제품, 기기 및 도구는 고객에게 고마움을 느끼게 하거나 피부미용숍의 지속적 방문을 유도하기 위한 서비스 품질 요소라 할 수 있다.

This study was conducted with 60 adult males who visited the Atomi Cooperative Clinic(Atomi Dermatology/Pediatrics/Oriental Clinic) in Seoul between May 2003 and December 2004; they were divided into three groups, each of which consisted of 20 persons, according to the level of erythma and then each group was subdivided to consist of ten according to whether they received skin treatment and care. The standard care provided to two groups involved topical steroids and oriental medicines prescribed by a dermatologist and a oriental doctor, respectively. 5th-grade topical steroid ointment was applied to the face and 3rd-grade to the limbs; a oriental medicine was administered in a lukewarm state half an hour after meals three times a day. To determine how special and systematic skin treatment and care was helpful in treating atopy, a skin treatment system was applied to the experimental group while the control group was provided with standard care alone. By using Mexameter(MX18) manufactured by ck-mpa as a measuring tool, the inflammation level was observed at the right antecubital space during each visit to the clinic. In view of the re suits, introduction of the systemic skin care for A. D to legitimate treatment provided by a medical institution is expected to be an appropriate supplementary treatment for adult patients who suffer from frequent recurrence of atopic dermatitis.
