From the roots of Angelica dahurica Bentham et Hooker(Umbelliferae), three coumarin glycosides have been isolated and identified as skimmin, $8-O-{\beta}-D-glucopyranosyl$ xanthotoxol and $tert.-O-{\beta}-D-glucopyranosyl-heralenol$. $8-O-{\beta}-D-Glucopyranosyl-xanthotoxol$ was isolated for the first time from plant source.

From the benzene soluble and butanol soluble portions of Dystaenia takeshimana Kitagawa which is indigenous to Korea, umbelliferone, skimmin, isoscopoletin, ${\beta}-sitosterol$, campesterol and stigmasterol have been isolated and identified on the basis of spectral data.

The root of Heracleum moellendorffii was extracted with methanol and extract was fractionated with n-hexane, $CHCI_3$ and n-BuOH. Repaeated column chromatography of silica gel, sephadex LH 20 and ODS led to the isolation of ten compounds from n-hexane fraction and n-BuOH fraction. On the basis of spectroscopic evidences, the structures of isolated compounds were identified as isobergapten, psoralen, angelicin, sphondin, xanthotoxin, skimmin, cichoriin, $heratomol-6-O-{\beta}-D-glucopyranoside$, scopolin and apterin.

The phytochemical study of the underground parts of Gardenia jasminoides var. radicans Makino (Rubiaceae) led to the isolation of five coumarins. On the basis of spectroscopic evidences, the structures of these compounds were charaterized as ferulic acid(l), 5,8-di-(3-methyl-2,3-dihydroxybutyloxylpsoralen)(2), skimmin(3), uracil(4), $3-0-{\alpha}-D-glucopyranosyl-(1{\rightarrow}4)-{\beta}-D-glucopyranosyloxypeucedanin$ hydrates(5), respectively.

Two quinazolone alkaloids, (+)-febrifugine (1) and isofebrifugine (2), along with three coumarin derivatives, 6-hydroxy coumarin (3), skimmin (5), and $umbelliferone-7-O-{\alpha}-L-rhamnopyranosyl(1{\rightarrow}4)-{\beta}-D-glucopyranoside$ (6), were isolated from the roots of Hydrangea chinensis. Compound 6 is a new compound. In addition, umbelliferone (4), linoleic acid (7), two steroidal glycosides (8, 9), three furfural derivatives (10-12), and butyl-$\beta$-D-fructofuranoside (13) were isolated from the leaves of the same plant. The structures of all isolates were elucidated by spectral methods.
