Design of an Alpine Skiing Game Using ActionScript 3.0

  • Flash is the most popular 2D animation and game development software, supporting vector and media technology at the core, which enables the development of small and pithy games. It is widely used in Web animation, courseware, TV commercials, game development, and other works of design. In this paper, we propose a control movement function and auxiliary functions for an alpine skiing game based on ActionScript 3.0. The control movement function is designed with moving phases (i.e., free fall, sliding, projectile, and landing). The auxiliary functions include drawing path, start/restart movement, and saving the highest score. In addition, for the visual design of our game, we designed animations in connection with a character and background. In order to facilitate testing the friction, users can input a chosen friction value. Without user input, the friction default is set at 0.97.

알파인 스키 분석을 위한 운동역학 연구 동향 (Biomechanical Research Trends for Alpine Ski Analysis)

  • 본 연구는 알파인 스키와 관련하여 과거부터 최근까지 진행된 운동역학 연구의 동향을 파악하여 향후 운동역학 분야에서 진행되어야 할 연구 방향을 제언하고자 수행하였다. 운동역학 연구 분야에서는 스키 턴의 메커니즘과 스키어의 등급과 기술 수준에 따른 자세 분석, 스키와 눈의 마찰력, 공기저항 등의 연구가 주로 진행되었다. 이후 측정 센서와 컴퓨터 시뮬레이션을 활용한 연구에서는 IMU와 GPS 센서를 활용하여 스키 장비 개발 및 획득 데이터 검증에 연구가 진행되고 있다. 이와 같은 연구동향을 반영하여 추후 알파인 스키 분야에서 진행되어야 할 운동역학 연구에 대한 제언은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 기존 운동역학 분석 범위의 한계를 넘어 스키 전 구간이 분석 가능하고 스포츠 현장에서 간편하게 활용할 수 있는 측정 장비가 개발되어야 한다. 둘째, 측정 센서를 활용하여 획득한 정보의 정확도 향상과 이를 바탕으로 다양한 분석기법에 관한 연구가 지속적으로 진행되어 스포츠 현장에 도움이 될 수 있는 자료가 제공되어야 한다. 셋째, 컴퓨터 시뮬레이션을 활용하여 스키에서 발생하는 부상 메커니즘을 명확히 정립하고 부상을 예방할 수 있는 방안을 모색해야 한다. 넷째, 컴퓨터 시뮬레이션을 활용한 3차원 스키 모델을 개발하여 실제 주행데이터와 비교 검증함으로써 최적화된 스키 궤적 알고리즘 제공이 필요하다.

다양한 웨어러블 디바이스를 활용한 크로스컨트리스키 실시간 위치 추적: 사례 연구 (Real-time Location Tracking Analysis of Cross-country Skiing using Various Wearable Devices: A Case Study)

  • Objective: The purpose of this study was to confirm that the cross-country ski sprint course in PyeongChang, where the 2018 Winter Olympics course was to utilize wearable devices equipped with inertial measurement unit (IMU), global positioning system (GPS) and heart rates sensor. Method: For the data collection, two national level cross-country (XC) skiers performed classic technique on the entire sprint course. We analyzed cycle characteristics, range of motion on double poling (DP) technique, average velocity, and displacement of 3 points according to the terrain. Results: The absolute cycle time gradually decreased during starting, middle and finish sections. While the length of the DP increased and the heart rates tended to increase for men skier. In addition, the results indicated that range of motion of knee joint during starting and finish section decreased more than middle section. The errors of latitude and longitude data collected through GPS were within 3 m from 3 points. Conclusion: Through the first case study in Korea, which analyzed the location and condition of XC skiers in the entire sprint course in real time, confirmed that feedback was available in the field using various wearable sensors.

The Characteristics of Dining-out Customers at Ski Resorts in South Korea

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the characteristics of dining-out customers by their behaviors based on geographical regions and visiting days in relation to restaurant attraction at ski resorts in Korea. The data were collected from six ski resorts. Three of the ski resorts were located in Kyunggi Province close to a metropolitan area, namely Seoul. The other three resorts were located in Kangwon Province, which is considered to be distant from the Seoul metropolitan area. A total of 599 usable questionnaires were utilized in the data analysis. Descriptive statistics and a cross tabulation analysis with chi square were used to examine the demographic characteristics of the respondents and the significant differences between geographical regions as well as between weekdays and weekends. The responding customers consisted of 57.3% (n=343) males and 42.7% (n=256) females. With respect to age, 15.5% were less than 20 yr., 44.6% were $20{\sim}30$ yr., and 28.0% were $30{\sim}40$ yr. The most recognizable occupations were student (32.9%) followed by office worker (33.2%). Twenty-seven percent of the respondents had less than one year of skiing experience and the majority (32.9%) had more than $1{\sim}3$ yr of experience. The major findings obtained from this study include statistically significant differences in the customers' demographical characteristics of age, occupation, skiing experience, and residential area according to the geographical regions of Kyunggi Province and Kangwon Province (p<0.05). All six of the customers' behavioral attributes, including transportation, reason to visit, staying days, purpose of visit, spending expenses, and usage of discount programs, showed significant differences between geographical groups (p<0.05). Finally, restaurant attraction was associated with the purpose of visiting and spending expenses by customers at the ski resorts (p<0.001).

Comparison of Three-dimensional Kinematic Changes of the Lower Extremity between the Two Different Braking Distances of Snowplow in Alpine Skiing

  • Objective: The aim of this study was to compare three-dimensional kinematic changes of the lower extremity between the two different braking distances during snowplow in alpine skiing. Method: Six alpine ski instructors (age: $25.3{\pm}1.5yr$, height: $169.3{\pm}2.9cm$, weight: $66.2{\pm}5.9kg$, career: $4.2{\pm}2.9yr$) participated in this study. Each skier was asked to perform snowplow on the two different braking distances (2 and 4 m). Results: Snowplow and edging angles (p = .006 and p = .005), ankle adduction and inversion (p = .033 and p = .002), knee extension (p = .003), and hip abduction and internal rotation (p = .043 and p = .006) were significantly greater in the 2 m than in the 4 m braking distance. Conclusion: Based on our results, we suggest that skiers should make greater snowplow and edging angles on the shorter braking distance. In this situation, ankle joint adduction/inversion angle and hip joint internal-rotation make greater snowplow angle, and hip joint abduction make greater edging angle. In addition, greater knee joint extension angle may lead to more posteriorly positioned center of mass.

3주간의 고지대 스키훈련이 크로스컨트리 스키 선수의 등속성 근기능에 미치는 영향 (The effect of 3 weeks high altitude skiing training on isokinetic muscle function of cross-country skierst)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 3주간의 고지대 스키 트레이닝이 크로스컨트리 스키 선수의 근기능에 미치는 영향을 분석하여 향후 크로스컨트리 스키 선수들의 근기능 향상 및 과학적 훈련프로그램 구성을 위한 기초 자료를 제공하는데 있다. 연구대상자는 크로스컨트리 스키 남자 대학 선수 6명을 대상으로 실시하였으며, 주기별과 고지대 트레이닝이 크로스컨트리 스키 선수들에 미치는 영향을 확인하기 위하여 일반선형모델 반복측정(General Linear Model ANOVA with repeated measure)과 대응표본 t 검정(Paired Samples t-test)을 적용하여 분석하였다. 고지대 스키 트레이닝을 3주간 실시한 결과 신체조성은 변화가 나타나지 않았지만, 어깨관절, 허리관절, 무릎관절, 발목관절의 등속성 근기능이 감소되는 것을 확인할 수 있었다. 따라서 SP기간과 같은 스키 트레이닝 기간 중에도 지속적인 근력훈련을 실시하여야 할 것으로 사료되면 이에 대한 추가 연구가 필요할 것으로 판단된다.

여가활동의 감성적 반응에 관한 연구 (A Study on Emotional Response of Leisure Activity)

  • The role of emotional responses is an important subject of study in consumer behavior. Although the perceived performance and satisfaction related emotions have been studied with increasing quantities in leisure studies or fields of outdoor recreation and tourism, issues concerning the appropriate way to measure these emotional responses remains unresolved. This article reviews the emotion measuring scales, and testify the usefulness of PAD scale based upon 349 questionnaires by users of Phoenix Park(Ski Resort) and Seoul Land(Theme Park) in Korea. It was found that, users' emotional response was closely related with satisfaction in Phoenix Park(Ski Resort); however, users' perceived performance was closely related with satisfaction in Seoul Land (Theme Park). This article argues that the meanings of these findings is due to different characteristics of consumption typology between ski resort and theme park. In conclusion, users' emotional experience may be more useful in understanding skiing activities and in formulating management strategies for ski resorts than theme parks.

  • 스키 입문자의 경우 부상 등에 따른 두려움을 느끼거나 부정확한 자세가 익숙해져 바로잡기가 힘든 경우가 발생한다. 스키 트레이닝 시뮬레이터는 이러한 단점을 보완하여 스키 선수의 정확한 자세를 바탕으로 정확한 자세를 취할 수 있도록 유도하는 시스템이다. 본 논문에서는 스키 선수의 자세와 시뮬레이터 사용자의 자세를 비교하여 유사도를 측정하기 위해 사용한 알고리즘의 효율성을 향상하기 위해 특정 센서에 가중치를 부여하고 이들의 좌표값을 받아 계산하는 Pairwise testing 기법을 적용한다. 이는 센서간의 거리를 실시간으로 계산하여 두 자세의 유사도를 검출하는데 있어 비교 테스트 케이스를 감소시켜 유사도 측정의 효율성을 높일 수 있다.
