  • The aim of stereotactic radiosurgery(SRS) is to deliver a high dose to a target region and a low dose to critical organ through only one or a few irradiation. To satisfy this aim, optimized irradiating conditions must be searched in the planning. Thus, many mathematical methods such as gradient method, simulated annealing and genetic algorithm had been proposed to find out the conditions automatically. There were some limitations using these methods: the long calculation time, and the difficulty of unique solution due to the different shape of tumor. In this study, optimization protocol using ideal models and data base was proposed. Proposed optimization protocol constitutes two steps. First step was a preliminary work. Some possible ideal geometry shapes, such as sphere, cylinder, cone shape or the combination, were assumed to approximate the real tumor shapes. Optimum variables such as isocenter position or collimator size, were determined so that the high dose region could be shaped to fit ideal models with the arrangement of multiple isocenter. Data base were formed with those results. Second, any shaped real targets were approximated to these models using geometry comparison. Then, optimum variables for ideal geometry were chosen from the data base predetermined, and final parameters were obtained by adjusting these data. Although the results of applying the data base to patients were not superior to the result of optimization in each case, it can be acceptable as a starting point of plan.

  • The purpose of this study was to develop a new basic skirt pattern for 4 lower body types of Plus-sized women. To reduce a time and economic loss about putting it on, This study applied a 3D sample module in the course to develop a basic skirt pattern which is fit, functional and beautiful. A data analysis used the SPSS 11.0 statistics program. To verify the difference, This study used the variance analysis and Duncan's test for the postmortem verification. The result was as follows. To reflect a feature according to an abdomen projection and hip projection, we added the maximum hip circumference to the waist circumference and hip circumference for necessary for a skirt draft item. The front hip circumference sets to the H/4+1cm(ease)+D/4. The back hip circumference set to the H/4+0.5cm(ease)+D/4. The D is the hip circumference in the maximum hip circumference to subtract. The front waist circumference sets to the W/4+0.5cm(ease)+0.5cm(A front and back's difference)+D/4. The back waist circumference sets to the W/4+0.5cm(ease)-0.5cm(A front and back's difference)-D/4. Compare with 4 lower body types of Plus-sized Women, A type 2 and type 4 abdomen projections are bigger. We raised a front waistline of skirt pattern to a 0.3cm upside, and take about 1.3cm down the skirt length from a developed skirt pattern. Consequently, the appearance of a front skirt length was improved with a side skirt length.

  • A multiplier bit-pair recoding technique derived from Booth algorithm is used as an effective method that can carry out a fast binary multiplication regardless of a sign of both multiplicand and multiplier. In this paper, we propose an implementation of an optical high-speed multiplier which consists of a symbolic substitution adder and an optical multiplication algorithm, which transforms and enhances the multiplier bit-pair recoding algorithm to be fit for optical characteristics. Specially, a symbolic substitution addition rules are coded with a dual-rail logic, and so the complement of the logic of the symbolic substitution adder is easily obtained with a shift operation because it is always present. We also construct the symbolic substitution system which makes superposition image by superimposing two shifted images in a serial connection and recognizes a reference image by feeding this superimposed image to a mask. Thus, the optical multiplier, which is compared with a typical system, is implemented to the smaller system by reducing the number of optical passive elements and the size of this system.

  • This study attempted to find out the difference in the patterns of jeogori between commercially available Shinhanbok brands by comparing and analyzing the patterns of the changing Shinhanbok jeogori in consideration of material characteristics, fit, and fastening. After purchasing and disassembling 6 products, analysis was conducted with the disassembly pattern. As a result of analyzing the shape of the jeogori, the 1st, 3rd and 6th brands showed no darts. In the case of the 5th brand, the three-dimensional effect of the human body was expressed with a princess line. As a result of the appearance evaluation, the 5 brands were evaluated as the highest in most items except for the space of the front width and the group wrinkles of back sleeve armhole, and the appearance was analyzed to be the best. As a result of evaluating the clothing pressure, it was analyzed that the chest circumference of the first brand was smaller than that of the other brands, and the shoulder width and shoulder length were also shorter, and pulling occurred even after wearing. As the demand for new hanbok increases, it is believed that it is necessary to establish a size system for ready-made clothes.

  • Many reports have shown that the access pattern for geospatial tiles follows Zipf's law and that its parameter ${\alpha}$ represents the access characteristics. However, visits to geospatial tiles have temporal and spatial popularities, and the ${\alpha}$-value changes as they change. We construct a mathematical model to simulate the user's access behavior by studying the attributes of frequently visited tile objects to determine parameter estimation algorithms. Because the least squares (LS) method in common use cannot obtain an exact ${\alpha}$-value and does not provide a suitable fit to data for frequently visited tiles, we present a new approach, which uses a moment method of estimation to obtain the value of ${\alpha}$ when ${\alpha}$ is close to 1. When ${\alpha}$ is further away from 1, the method uses the associated cache hit ratio for tile access and uses an LS method based on a critical cache size to estimate the value of ${\alpha}$. The decrease in the estimation error is presented and discussed in the section on experiment results. This new method, which provides a more accurate estimate of ${\alpha}$ than earlier methods, promises more effective prediction of requests for frequently accessed tiles for better caching and load balancing.

  • A drying machine for discarded Citrus scrap was developed in this study. The Citrus produced in Jeju Province was treated as wastes (a) after making a beverage, such as drinking juice, and (b) if the size of the product did not fit with its agricultural product criteria. Various types of drying machine were developed in this study, and different kinds of technologies were combined improve the performance. To enhance the performance, the system was maintained in a vacuum state, and a high frequency micro wave was activated to the waste Citrus scrap, to heat up the moisture inside the Citrus kernels. The frequency of the micro-wave was 2.6 GHz, which is the resonant frequency of the molecules. Experiments were conducted with a vacuum of 50, 100, 150, 300, 500, and 700 mbar. The waste Citrus scrap has two types of status : (a) original scrap, and (b) mixed with blender. As results, specimen (a) shows a 0.13 g/sec evaporation rate, while specimen (b) shows a 0.19 g/sec rate, at 50 mbar of environment vacuum condition. For the drying efficiency, specimens (a) and (b) show 0.15 g/W and 0.24 g/W, respectively.

  • Little is known about unemployment duration and re-employment pattern. This paper empirically examines unemployment duration and re-employment pattern using data by the 1998 national survey about the unemployed and their needs. A parametric survival model(Weibull model) is adopted to identify variables predicting unemployment duration. It is found that the data including people without unemployment insurance as well as people with unemployment insurance fit the Weibull model including the hazard distribution that the hazard of reemployment is increasing at an decreasing rate. Variables that affect unemployment duration are age, householdership, family income, size of prior employment organization, and cause of unemployment. In re-employment pattern, statistically significant variables are age, type of prior employment industry, prior employment pattern, and membership in unemployment insurance. This paper provides a basic knowledge about realities of unemployed individuals in the economic crisis period of Korea, identifies research areas for further research, and develops policy implications for the unemployed.

  • As the number of smartphone users grows, number of applications and the expected overall functionality in a smartphone grow simultaneously. With ever-so increasing expectations comes intense competition to squeeze in myriads of functions in a limited space that is only getting 'slimmer' by the year. In order to achieve this, companies often decrease the size of components in smartphones - battery connectors in particular. While they may fit, smaller battery connectors have their disadvantages due to the heat generated by the high current flow in the circuits. In collaborating with Korea's leading battery connector manufacturers, this research presents current issues and design concepts that should be considered when engineers design power connectors based on their electrical and thermal analysis.

  • This study aims at analyzing the silhouette, dress patterns and detail of Empire Era(1789-1825), and making use of this results for the modern stage costume construction. The dresses of Empire era were divided into X and H style. The results revealed that the bust girth of X style group was bigger than that of H style group. Such patterns as high waistline, puff sleeve, train, etc. which appeared during the peak time of Empire style period were more remarkable for H style group. This obviously indicated that more epical characteristics were observed for H style group than for X style group. Similarly to silhouette analysis, based on the results from cluster analysis conducted to put similar groups together, two groups were formed - a visually differentiated and complex group and a simple group in the absence of detail. Most dress details from Empire period had simple embellishments. Comparison of the average size of the patterns between two groups indicated that waist front length of H style was shorter than that of X style. Front interscye was even greater than back width for both groups. Such trend was quite different from today's pattern in which back width is larger than front width based on body measurements. Preference for big breast during the period was reflected on dress patterns and the side length of front side goes across the back much further for bodice patterns. Two representatives were selected and reproduced using materials similar to those of real dresses of Empire style, following two times fit test.
