The objective of this in vitro study was to evaluate the efficacy of a Ca(OH)$_2$removal before and after early coronal flaring using different types of instruments. 100 plastic blocks with 30$^{\circ}$artificial curved canals were used in this study and randomly divided into a control group and 4 experimental groups(GG, OS, GT, PT Group) 20 teeth each. The canals were instrumented, and Ca(OH)$_2$was temporary filled into the each canal. Irrigation was peformed with Max-i-Probe 25- 30-gauge probes before and after recapitulation. The results of this study were as follows 1. There were no significant difference among the groups in size of irrigating needle(p<0.05). 2. There was a significant difference between before and after recapitulation regardless size of irrigating needle(p<0.05). 3. Before recapitulation, there was a significant difference between 25- and 30-gauge needle in all groups(P<0.05). 4. After recapitulation, there was a significant difference between 25- and 30-gauge needle in the control group(p<0.05). But there were no significant difference among the experimental groups. It is concluded that the effectiveness of canal irrigation was decided to the depth of irrigating needle into the canal. The effect of canal irrigation tend to facilitate by the early coronal flaring. The recapitulation was the most effective during canal irrigation regardless the size of irrigating needle. Therefore, the recapitulation is a mandatory way to facilitate the effectiveness of canal irrigation during canal enlargement.

Purpose: To find out the effects that different tomographic angles have on the osteophytic lesion detectability of condyle head by comparison the individualized lateral tomographic image with the various tomographic angled images using SCANORA/sup (R)/. Materials & Methods: This study is performed to simulate osteophytic lesions by a series of dentin chips placed at six locations on condyle head. The control angle is 15° and from this angle. tomographic angle were varied with -10°, +10°, +20°. All the images with each sized dentin chip were scored by three dental radiologists with the use of confidence levels for presence or absence of the lesion, each examiner viewed one of the images twice. A rating scale from 0 to 2 (0, lesion definitely not present; 1. uncertain if lesion is present; 2, lesion definitely present). Responses were assessed by Tukey' s multiple comparison method and kappa value. Results: 1. The lesion size of 0.3 mm could not be detected in all the tomographic angles. As the size of the lesion increased the average value of lesion detectability also increased. 2. In the lesion sizes of 0.7 mm there was statistically significant difference between the 15° control angle and the altered tomographic angles (p<0.05). In 1.0 mm lesion there was no significant difference in the ±10° altered angles (p >0.05). but there was significant difference in the altered angle (p<0.05). In the lesion sizes of 0.3 mm and 2.0 mm there was no significant difference between the 15° control angle and all the altered angles (p >0.05). 3. In the anteromedial. anterosuperior, anterolateral area there was no significant difference between the 15° control angle and the ±10° altered angle (p >0.05), but in the comparison with the +20° altered angle there was significant difference (p<0.05). Conclusion: When imaging the lateral tomography of the temporomandibular joint used by SCANORA/sup (R)/, it can be considered that in the osteophytic lesion size of 2 mm and above, the tomographic angle difference within +20° to the horizontal angle of the condyle. has little effect on the lesion detectability. And in the lesion size of 1 mm, the altered angle within ±10° also has little effect on the lesion detectability.
In this study, the polyurethane microcapsules for non-aqueous dyeing containing iron oxide and disperse dyes were prepared by in-situ polymerization method using hexamethylene diisocyanate(HDI) with ethylene glycol(EG). And the size, shape, and particle size distribution of microcapsules prepared were investigated. The size and shape of microcapsule were observed by optical microscope and scanning elecron microscope. The particle size distribution was analyzed by particle size analyzer. The microcapsule size and its distribution were largely effected by the existance of surface active agent in the system. When a surfactant did not exist in the system, the size distribution of microcapsules prepared was much uneven. By adding a surfactant, this phenomenon was disappeared. And the size of microcapsule was also effeced by the hydrophobicity of core material(disperse dye). It was considered due to the difference of dispersity of core materials. And the size of microcapsule prepared was inversely proportional to the stirring speed.
Exports play an important role in Korea's economy and industry. Korea's share in world trade is also increasing. Governments and trade organizations are making great efforts to promote exports. However, since SMEs lack resources of enterprises, SMEs have a lot of difficulties in increasing exports compared to large enterprises. For this reason, in this study, we analyzed the difference of perception of export difficulties according to characteristics of small and medium export companies. As a result, four factors such as overseas market information, price and cost, competitiveness and regulation of importing country were derived. In addition, we investigated the differences in recognition of export difficulties by the stage of growth of company, period of export, products exported, export department, size of company. There was a significant difference in recognition. Especially, The companies which are the early stages of growth, short export period, finished product, the smaller the size of exports companies are more difficult in export difficulties.
The application of infrared thermography for detecting defects under the surface of a material was studied. Defects in a specimen were made by back-drilled circular holes. To get alarge temperature difference at the surface, a halogen lamp was used for surface heating. We confirmed that the defect location had a good relationship with the maximum temperature difference. The sizes of the defects could be calculated by means of the FWHM. The value of the FWHM of a temperature difference decreased with time. Therefore in an extremely short time after the heating, the true defect size could be measured.
Background: The size of a hepatic neoplasm is critical for staging, prognosis and selection of appropriate treatment. Our study aimed to compare the radiological size of solid hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) masses on magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) with the pathological size in a Chinese population, and to elucidate discrepancies. Materials and Methods: A total of 178 consecutive patients diagnosed with HCC who underwent curative hepatic resection after enhanced MRI between July 2010 and October 2013 were retrospectively identified and analyzed. Pathological data of the whole removed tumors wereassessed and differences between radiological and pathological tumor size were identified. All patients were restaged using a modified Tumor-Node-Metastasis (TNM) staging system postoperatively according to the maximum diameter alteration. The lesions were classified as hypo-staged, iso-staged or hyper-staged for qualitative assessment. In the quantitative analysis, the relative pre and postoperative tumor size contrast ratio ($%{\Delta}size$) was also computed according to size intervals. In addition, the relationship between radiological and pathological tumor diameter variation and histologic grade was analyzed. Results: Pathological examination showed 85 (47.8%) patients were overestimated, 82 (46.1%) patients underestimated, while accurate measurement by MRI was found in 11 (6.2%) patients. Among the total subjects, 14 (7.9%) patients were hypo-staged and 15 (8.4%) were hyper-staged post-operatively. Accuracy of MRI for calculation and characterized staging was related to the lesion size, ranging from 83.1% to 87.4% (<2cm to ${\geq}5cm$, p=0.328) and from 62.5% to 89.1% (cT1 to cT4, p=0.006), respectively. Overall, MRI misjudged pathological size by 6.0 mm (p=0.588 ), and the greatest difference was observed in tumors <2cm (3.6 mm, $%{\Delta}size=16.9%$, p=0.028). No statistically significant difference was observed for moderately differentiated HCC (5.5mm, p=0.781). However, for well differentiated and poorly differentiated cases, radiographic tumor maximum diameter was significantly larger than the pathological maximum diameter by 3.15 mm and underestimated by 4.51 mm, respectively (p=0.034 and 0.020). Conclusions: A preoperative HCC tumor size measurement using MRI can provide relatively acceptable accuracy but may give rise to discrepancy in tumors in a certain size range or histologic grade. In pathological well differentiated subjects, the pathological tumor size was significantly overestimated, but underestimated in poorly differentiated HCC. The difference between radiological and pathological tumor size was greatest for tumors <2 cm. For some HCC patients, the size difference may have implications for the decision of resection, transplantation, ablation, or arterially directed therapy, and should be considered in staging or selecting the appropriate treatment tactics.

'Adolescence' is a critical period in the process of growing and aging but important in that an adolescent becomes aware of and begins to look about him or her self. Especially with girls in their late teens (15$\~$18), they pay more attention to their looks and clothes than the boys do, which affects to some extent the formation of their personality and their behavior. From this point .of view. it is significant to establish the standard size of high-school girls' clothes. This study aims to measure high-school girls in size and to establish the standard size of their clothes; furthermore. to enable them to lead a satisfactory living with more appropriate size of clothes. The results, analyzed by two different representing items which resulted in little difference, are as belows: 1) Stature had a significant correlation with posterior waist height; bust girth had the most significant correlation with weight. and also some considerable correlation with other representing items; 2) The F-test result showed significant difference on $1\%$ level over all the items between the measured (Y) and the estimated (Y); the correlation among the representing items was considerable also; 3) When the measurement increases in stature by 4cm, bust girth by 4cm. and posterior shoulder width by 2cm respectively, the increase or decrease in other items are as shown on Table 4. Since this study was carried out in girls' high-schools in Seoul, it is expected to extend its further study throughout the nation. thus contributing to comprehending the whole truth of people's body-size and promoting the fabrication and modelling of the original clothes for the nation by the strict standard size up to making ready-made clothes with no difficulty in setting the standard and model size.
Franchising is one of the fastest growing types of business. It is already popular and well-known in the U.S., and has been growing in many other countries including Korea. Furthermore, many Korean franchising companies have expanded their business overseas actively. According to the data by the Ministry of Industry and Resource, 82 companies out of a sample of 500 franchising companies are already operating in many foreign countries and 48% of them have started their foreign business since 2006. This clearly indicates the fast growing current trend of foreign operation by Korean franchising companies. In spite of the fast growing trend of foreign expansion in the industry, academic research on internationalization of franchising companies is extremely difficult to find. Accordingly, academic research on the issue is necessary and urgent in Korea. Among the various research questions on internationalization of franchising business, this study intends to investigate the difference in organizational factors between the franchising companies doing foreign operation and those doing business only domestically. More specifically, this research has the following purposes. First, considering the lack of theoretical basis of previous studies, resource-based theory and agency theory are employed as the theoretical bases. Second, this study explains the difference in internationalization based on organizational factors such as company size, history and growth rate. Third, the five hypotheses regarding the difference in organizational factors are presented and tested empirically, which is the first attempt in the area of this topic. Finally, the study attempts to clarify the conflicting implications among theories regarding some organizational factos such as growth rate. As the theoretical background, resource-based theory and agency theory are discussed. According to resource-based theory, a firm can grow continuously when it has competence and resource, and also the ability to develop them. The competence and resource can include capital, human resource, management skill, market information, ability to manage risk, etc. Meanwhile, agency theory views the relationship between franchisor and franchisee as an agency relationship. In agency theory, bonding capability and monitoring capability are the two key factors which promote internationalization of franchising companies. Based on the two theories, a conceptual model is designed. The model consists of two groups of variables. One is organizational factors including size, history, growth rate, price bonding and geographic dispersion. The other is whether a franchising company is operating overseas or not. We developed the following five research hypotheses basically describing the relationship between organizational factors and internationalization of franchising companies. H1: The size of franchising companies operating overseas is larger than that of franchising companies operating domestically. H2: The history of franchising companies operating overseas is longer than that of franchising companies operating domestically. H3: The growth rate of franchising companies operating overseas is higher than that of franchising companies operating domestically. H4: The price bonding of franchising companies operating overseas is higher than that of franchising companies operating domestically. H5: The geographic dispersion of franchising companies operating overseas is wider than that of franchising companies operating domestically. Data for the analyses are obtained from 2005 Korea Franchise Survey data co-generated by Ministry of Industry and Resource, GS1 Korea, and Korea Franchise Association. Out of 2,804 population companies, 2,489 companies are excluded for various reasons and 315 companies are selected as the final sample. Prior to hypotheses tests, validity and reliability of the measures of size, history, growth rate and price bonding are examined for further analyses. Geographic dispersion is not validated since it is measured using nominal data. A series of independent sample T-tests is used to find out whether there exists any significant difference between the companies internationalized and those operating only domestically for each organizational factor. Among the five factors, size and geographic dispersion show significant difference, growth rate and price bonding do not reveal any difference and, finally, history factor shows conflicting results in the difference depending on how to measure it.

In conclusion, the results show that the size and history, which are the key variables in resource-based theory, have a significant relationship with internationalization and that geographic area, which belongs to agency theory, also has a strong relationship with internationalization. The results support the findings of extant research and, therefore, prove the usefulness of resource-based theory and agency theory in explaining internationalization of franchising companies. However, growth rate and price-bonding do not show a clear difference between the two types of companies. Accordingly, these two factors need further attention in the future research. Although this study shows meaningful findings theoretically and practically, it has several limitations. First, only organizational factors are considered even if there are various environmental factors influencing franchising firm's internationalization. Second, only being internationalized or not is considered. That is, modes of entry and the size of foreign operations are not included in the study. Third, internationalization strategy is often determined based on the desire for business expansion and higher profitability and egoistical reasons of the CEOs. However, this type of factors belonging to behavioral science is not discussed in the study. Finally, organizational ecology perspective is usefully applicable in explaining the survival and performance of internationally operating companies. Accordingly, research propositions based on this perspective need to be developed and tested.
The purpose of this study is to research the difference between the size suggested by brand uniforms and the size suitable for high school girls. We compared and analyzed the size system of brand uniforms after researching the wearing conditions of uniforms of 4 brands (A, B, C, D) in order to establish a size system of brand uniforms that fits different body types of teenagers. First, we conduct research on the actual condition of brand uniforms worn by high school girls, and investigate unsatisfactory factors and problems. Second, we actually measure the uniform size of each brand and analyze measurement differences between each brand. Our results show each brand uniform has different size specifications and the importance of appropriate size specification is greater as students select uniform based on design and brand awareness rather than body size. Compared with the average body size the skirt and especially the blouse is much smaller with no extra room compared with standard size 85 blouses and size 71 skirts. Therefore, the adjustment of size specification is needed in brand school uniforms. However, a larger scale investigation is needed as this study was conducted with a limited sample size.
The purpose of this study is to investigate the cause analysis according to the difference between the pre exposure tube voltage and actual exposure tube voltage in mammography in connection with breast pressure thickness, breast size and body mass index and to find the improvement. The study tracked 377 women age 40 and older among the mammography examiners conducted by the National Health Insurance Corporation. It was analyzed that breast pressure thickness, breast size and body mass index according to the difference between the pre exposure tube voltage and actual exposure tube voltage among the parameters of dose report been sent to the picture archiving communication system with reference to the image with cranio-caudal projection in mammography. As are result, it shows that the thicker the breast thickness, smaller the breast size and lower body mass index, the higher the difference of tube voltage. In conclusion, the minimum tube voltage of mammography machine should be reset in order to set the tube voltage according to breast pressure thickness and breast size that are suitable for our country in mammography, in addition, it was considered that radiologist should make an effort to reduce radiation exposure and make a good quality image with reducing the difference of mammography condition by making a correct exposure condition in case of examining the patients with thin breast pressure and small breast size.
